Be very careful when using this rental establishment. My son was fitted for a tux on Tuesday. We were instructed to come back for a fitting Friday I pulled him out of school at lunch to get fitted. The suit jackets sleeves were uneven by approx 1 inch and pants were 1 1/2 too long. They said they would fix it and to come back after school. we returned that evening (2nd attempt) the left sleeve of jacket was still a approx 1/2 inch shorter then the right (still at this time we gave them grace asked what they could do and the sales associate said that it was 5 mins too late to order a new jacket so she would send the jacket to alterations and to come back Saturday (day of formal) at 12. We returned Saturday and nothing had been adjusted the sleeves were still 2 different lengths and the new sales person actually tried to say that I was incorrect. So he then proceeded to measure the sleeves and yes they were approx 1/2" dif. At this time being the 3rd time and then trying to make excuses for the same issue and 2 hours prior to the formal I was frustrated. The sales associate said you can just get a refund. REALLY?!! What do you suggest my son wear to the dance in 2 hours? There lack of concern and customer service is shocking! Beware.... I believe a business shows how good it is when it effectively deals with mistakes. We gave them 3 chances and now are on our 4th only because there is nothing we can do this close to the dance. Sadly, we are at their mercy. Dear Chelsea, I have no problem talking to your operations manager. However, I believe the problem lies with the Bakersfield manager. From what I was told she informed the sales associate to not have the hemming done externally. At that point I believe effective management would be to take the situation on herself and help instruct the employees what to do and oversee that the suit was hemmed properly. Instead the suit was just left uneven for the 3rd time. I did not want to escalate the situation but after the 3rd time of our request being ignored i was forced to so they would take action. I believe a company shows how good they are when they are able to effectively deal with problems and that comes from guidance and proactiveness off immediate management. read more

I am embarrassed that we spent so much money here for our wedding party. The people that work here are so unprofessional, we weren't even greeted as we walked in, one worker just said "scan the QR code to check in" nothing after that. I have a 4 year old brother that is kind of a lot to handle, who was going to be fitted. My mother and I went to help him change into the tux, one worker stated "We can only have one parent back here". First off, Did you just refer to us as a Lesbian couple?? Completely unprofessional. Second, that's not how you ask someone to go to the other side of the rope That I'll be standing next to anyways. Third, fine you guys can go back there and deal with him being crazy. Great customer service here! This was our 2nd stop since it was a total disaster at Jos A Banks. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a warm welcome and helped right away. The girl that helped us was exactly what we needed. We both had no idea what was needed to choose a suit for our wedding. So each helped us with everything and even gave us her suggestions. Both her and the guy at the front helped And they genuinely wanted to which was very apparent. This has been our go to place for the past 6 or more years . Always good service ! They are pricier than most places but convenient location and service has made it worth it for us . My only complaint is recent . In busy formal season , Moms check your orders . I had to go out of town on pick up day and sent my son & husband to. The shoes were wrong and the arm sleeves were just a little too short . I realized this on formal day so too late to do anything . Well our girl LAURA came over got us set up she worked so hard for us I wanted to tip her more than 20 percent ! We were in and out like it was nothing also I had my two year old and 11 month old with me! What I loved about this place was that she tried to find us the best ways to save ! She also broke down the bill so we were not confused ! I'm glad I chose this place to do my wedding it was fun and fast! I promised MENSWEAR HOUSE I WOULD NEVER EVER GO BACK TO THEM! What a great experience I have had with friar tux so far!!! Great selection of tan and beige suits, wonderful selection of color options, great prices, and the sweetest customer service. All the girls that have helped us have been so professional and willing to help us with anything they can. My fiancé is a bit picky when it comes to his clothing. So this is so wonderful for us! When he went for his fitting he even tried a couple of the pieces twice, and the gal was not put off by this at all. She encouraged it in fact! Awesome! I recently went into this shop looking to purchase a suit for my company Christmas party, and was happy with the product and price. The store manager Jeanette helped me and was clear that they were not professional tailors and that they only did a temporarily hem to the pants. It worked out perfect for me, the coat fit great off the rack. I received a lot of compliments from my co workers. I will definitely be going back and I recommend this shop. I think that each time i've been in Friar Tux, it's taken much longer than needed, which is a bother. It shouldn't take over an hour to get service and measured. This shop is the Best in town I rented a full suit for my mother's Funeral. When I Entered the shop I was greeted with a warm welcome that is a huge plus the lady that helped me out asked what I am looking for and what is the event I advised her what it is for and told her the Exact suit I wanted she was kind and caring I chose a nice all white suit she met all my needs through out this whole process. Friar tux shop best in town! All the staff helped throughout the few months our wedding party was coming in and getting fitted, Dillon especially helped out a lot every time we came in. All were very friendly and was to work with! They made sure we everything leading up to the wedding and calling us to follow up weeks prior which was very appreciated. Even the day of the wedding when one of the groomsmen couldn't fund his pocket square I called the shop and said we need a pocket square someone will swing by and purchase a new one. Great service . Only reason I'm giving it 3 stars not 4 is because the measurement was off by one size . My husband couldn't fit the vest nor the jacket. Even though they fixed it right away we still had to waste time to go down to pick up a size up. It's an inconvenience to drive 20 minutes when the size should be close or exact . Either way service was great enough for us to come back. We just will ask for a bigger size up front . read more

I nearly wanted to give one star. This tux shop did not supply my groomsmen well. One was missing suspenders, all were missing cuff links, they did not supply socks and didn't tell us so. One even had ripped pants which they were able to fix in time. If you do rent stuff here you will have to tell your groomsmen exactly what they should have and have them check their suit bag. Worst experience ever! If you want a suit that fits and people with actual knowledge on the subject don't go here. First of all my boyfriend bought, not rented but bought a suit; the pant legs were about 5 inches past his ankles they weren't hemmed and the sleeves were way too long. This awful fitting suit was ordered three months in advance and didn't even get to the store until a week before our friend's wedding, and he was the best man! So we therefore had to find a tailor with about 2 days to fix all of the mistakes that shouldn't have been made in the first place and paid $140+ for alterations elsewhere and their compensation was $30 for alterations and a free suit rental.. Really?! If you think we're ever doing business with you again you're smoking something. Please boycott this establishment unless you want a ridiculous amount of stress and huge hole in your pocket. read more
