The buns are super soft and fresh, which makes the whole burger come together perfectly. You can tell they put real care into the quality. Very spacious enough room to bring our baby with stroller every time. Everything came out hot and fresh, and the vibe was solid too. With the recent sale to Athletic Brewing, Ballast ceased operations for about 2 years now. The San Diego beer landscape has been changing the last couple of years with consumers drinking less beer, choosing non-alcoholic options and preferring canned cocktails. It was a wonderful space with a large walk bar, extensive dining area and tons of high top tables. The only gripe was the parking which was always difficult to find a spot. If you are a fan of Ballast Point, definitely stop by before they close the Miramar location.

If you knew me, I always searched for breweries wherever I may be, so I was stoked to visit a brewery new to me. Founded in early 2019 by Arturo Kassel (Whisknladle CEO) and Skip Virgilio (AleSmith co-founder) by a chance encounter, Kassel wanted to move away from typical industrial taprooms and create a space with elevated food and a bright, coastal aesthetic that appealed to the tech-heavy workforce in the area. In 2024, they have since opened a second location in nearby Mission Valley. To what heights did gravity allow me to enjoy this brewery!? Chuck was our bartender and 10/10 on the cocktails he made.
