Burger Joint & Brew is certainly a gem amidst the loooong road that is Miramar Rd. Definitely eye catching with a spacious, simple concept. I ordered: stars & stripes burger (1 patty), hashbrown rings (think hashbrowns shaped like onion rings), and an Oreo shake. The burger itself was flavorful and comes with their signature sauce which has a hint of citrus. The hashbrown rings are a fun concept--equally delicious and not oily at all. I would love to see this accompanied by a breakfast burger! The Oreo shake was delicious and not too creamy. Knocked off a star because I ordered pick-up through Uber Eats. When I arrived to pick up my order, the cashiers said they never got the order (and I unfortunately had to wait longer for something I ordered ahead of time).

Overall a good experience at the Burger Joint & Brew. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday and the place was not busy and plenty of open tables. Very nice decor inside and well maintained establishment. You seat yourself and order at the counter. They sell beer and also offer some halal options. Shout out to the woman working on Saturday afternoon she was very attentive and we observed constantly being proactive stocking the bottled sodas, cleaning the tables and vacuuming the floors, wiping the counters, etc. She wasn't just not just standing around behind the counter. We ordered: Joint burger, great sized burger for a smash patty. The buns were nicely toasted and their joint sauce was tasty. Cali burger- good amount of avocado and bacon, decent size for a double patty. Large order of 1/2 onion rings and fries- our favorite were the onion rings, nicely battered and perfectly crispy. The fries tasted fresh cut and were ok, however we would have liked them a bit more crispy. Chocolate shake- rich and creamy with real chocolate ice cream and topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. What would have made this a 5 star would have been if all the food would have been ready at the same time. There was a bit of a lag from when one burger was brought to our table and the second burger and fries/onion rings were brought. Maybe the kitchen was a bit behind, however I appreciate the food being brought out when ready, but we don't start eating until everyone has their food served.

First time customers last night. We ordered the Chicken Halal burger, MacDaddy special burger and their Sweet Potato Fries. One of the best burgers and fries we had. Ladies working at the counter are friendly and courteous. Like the decor of the place as well. Someone posted saying that the establishment has a picture of Trump somewhere. Good thing we didn't see it if it's still there because we would have walked out as well.

If you are looking for a great smash burger, you've got to check out the Burger Joint. We read about the place on Next Door and decided to check it out. What a pleasant surprise. The burgers (available as single, double or triple) are 3-4 oz patties and are delicious. They use a brioche bun which kicks it up another notch. We got a small order of fries & onion ring mixture. The onion rings were crisp and perfectly fried (not at all oily). The fries are made out of fresh potatoes and they too are on point. The server was friendly and recommended the fries and rings mixture. We also met the owner, Dee who was very hospitable and told us about his commitment to fresh, high quality ingredients. They have a very nice bar area as well. We look forward to trying other sandwiches.

If you're looking for a place with fast service and plenty of seats that serves delicious burger and shakes, you'll have to come try Burger Joint. I brought my family here after church because the typical places for early lunch were already packed. Glad we came here cause there was no wait and not crowded. I love the open concept garage style restaurant that really lets in the fresh air. Place your order and the register and them grab a seat for your party. They have plenty of TVs playing sports and other channels while you wait for your food. The burgers are good portion size which will leave you satisfied. See my pictures and you'll definitely want to come try it for yourself.

1st time I ordered from Uber Eats, this last time we dinned in. It was bad, needed a little seasoning/salt. I ordered the Cali burger and added grilled onions, and a small onion ring. I like that they offer low carb options as well. Customer service was great. The cook is the one that brought out our burgers and even came to ask how they were.

Best burger spot in San Diego. I have been gaining weight on burgers since they opened last year. They just added a few new burgers and ice cream! Just what I needed in my life. The burgers are always perfect. The burgers have flat tasty patties, perfect buns, quick and always freshly made, good toppings and delicious!. The service is always quick and friendly. military discount. The restaurant is nicely organized and has huge open window/doors. It isn't ever crazy loud or crowded. It is a great spot for some great burgers.

Solid smash burgers! I liked that I could add an egg, though be aware that it's not a runny egg if that's what you like. We ordered to go, and the server on the phone made the process quick and easy. The inside of the restaurant is cozy, almost diner style.

Every time I come here, it's amazing. saw they had a new burger called the flaming attack and I just had to try it. Double patty, pepper jack, jalapeños, bacon, & hot Cheetos !! My favorite item there! My buddies got the joint burger and the Firebird, which is their chicken sandwich they both love them. We shared their tenders one of the best tenders I've ever had, ask for a side of their joint sauce to dip it in. We each got a beer and after we got shakes. I got the Oreo shake and it was amazing. Lots of inside seating and cashier was helpful. Gonna come back here regularly.

AWARENESS: While visiting the San Diego area with my son a few weeks ago. Wee decided to find a good buyer place in the Miramar area and we happened upon The Burger Joint & Brew on the Yelp app. NARRATIVE: The Burger Joint & Brew is laid out nicely. Open and airy for plenty of air and a fresh breeze during those summer nights. The owners of this place did it right! We were greeted by two friendly ladies behind the counter and after looking over their simple but extensive menu, my son and I decided on our burger and sides. I went with their double patty with cheese and a side of onion rings and my son ordered their triple stack. Then we took seats while they cooked our burgers to order. As you can see by the pictures taken, they take their burgers serious. Toasted Brioche Bungs. Two large smash patties and melted cheese covering all that meat goodness. Yeah, it was good. The onion rings were also cooked to a nice and crispy, golden brown and had that perfect crunch. IYKYK what I mean. SCENE: The Burger Joint & Brew is located in the same strip mall as the Pizza Joint and the Royal Cigar Lounge right off of Miramar Road. RECOMMENDATION(S): I'd highly recommend this spot for a great and tasty burger.

If you're looking for a solid smash burger in the Miramar area, this is the spot! The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I love their half-fries, half-onion rings option, perfect if you can't decide between the two! They also have a wide variety of beers on tap, which makes it an awesome place to grab food and drinks with friends. On top of all that, the service was excellent super friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back!

Sunrise Burger. Freshly prepared and delicious!

Great recommendations, super genuine and fun, had the best energy and was CONSTANTLY checking in on us; however, a couple of the other workers could have been a little bit more open with communication. We were sitting against the window at the high top wraparound bar tables (feels like an extension of the bar), so the bar is easy to order from and was our go to as soon as we arrived. The bartender took our order, but was standoffish as if we were doing something foreign or a big "no no". Finally the server in charge of our area told us that the bartenders are in charge of the bar and there are other servers for all the other tables/zones. Our bartender Mike was great, and may Mai Thai ($14) defiantly did what it needed to do. It was sweet, strong and served with the cutest bear-shaped glass with a beautiful purple flower on top. One drink had a girl feeling tipsy. We ordered from the late-night "midnight Bites" menu, which was the only thing we could choose from at the hour of our visit. Everything we selected was really good. Wed got the Frito Pie ($12), Chicken thigh tenders ($7), and Tots ($7). The frito pie presentation was my second favorite part (after the bear glass drink), It came in a all-clad style bowl with the chip bag cut open inside, loaded with Texas-style chilli, melted nacho cheese, and shredded cheese. It was so good I even started adding tots in there too. The tots and Thigh tenders had the perfect crisp! They have sweet and sour chili sauce for dipping with the chicken which was fab! The retro decor made the place even better. I loved seeing the old Blockbuster VHS tapes and music cassettes displayed around the bar. My little eye also spot the Dallas Cowboys flag! Texas energy is definitely in the house. There's also a small arcade area in the back, and my eyes instantly lit up seeing PAC-Man. We didn't get to fully explore the game room because we were trying to make it to Ghirardelli Ice cream & Chocolate shop for dessert before they closed at midnight too. Thankfully everything worked out perfectly since our car was parked right in front of Ghirardelli. NO military discount was honored here even though the owner is a veteran, but overall I still had a really good experience and would definitely come back whenever I'm in the Gaslamp district in SD, Cali. When I entered the restaurant around 7:00 PM, I was stopped and questioned extensively by security regarding my service animal. Rather than being asked the limited ADA-compliant questions permitted by law, the interaction became prolonged and uncomfortable while staff repeatedly attempted to determine whether my dog was a "real" service animal or simply an emotional support animal. I remained waiting at the entrance while this was repeatedly discussed back and forth. What made the situation especially humiliating was that another patron openly laughed at me during the interaction while walking outside for a cigarette. I later realized this same patron had her own dog inside the establishment in a stroller the entire time. Staff members appeared very familiar and comfortable with her, and multiple employees, including my waitress- referred to her as a "regular." Although her dog was eventually moved to the patio area, the contrast in how the situations were handled made me feel singled out, embarrassed, and unfairly scrutinized. I later spoke with management in hopes of resolving the matter respectfully. During that conversation, I was surprised and concerned to hear that neither management nor staff were familiar with psychiatric service animals or their protections under the ADA. Psychiatric service animals are legally recognized service animals when trained to perform disability-related tasks, and this lack of awareness was deeply concerning, especially in a city like San Diego with a large disabled and veteran community. I fully understand that businesses are allowed to ask limited ADA-compliant questions regarding service animals, and I also understand that many establishments have dealt with individuals falsely claiming pets as service animals. However, there is a significant difference between appropriately verifying a service animal and making a disabled customer feel publicly interrogated and humiliated. The overall handling of this interaction lacked professionalism, sensitivity, and basic understanding of ADA service animal protections. No customer should feel mocked, scrutinized, or publicly embarrassed simply for entering a restaurant with a legitimate service animal. I sincerely hope this situation can serve as an opportunity for additional ADA education and proper service animal training for staff moving forward so that other disabled guests do not experience similar treatment. I would appreciate being informed of any steps the restaurant intends to take regarding ADA compliance and staff training before I determine how I would like to proceed further. Thank you for your time and attention.

Over the years, my wife, her girlfriend, and I have become frequent travelers to this culinary haven, beaming back for nearly 15 years--a testament to its enduring allure. The selection of IPAs and mixed drinks is impressive, catering to even the most discerning palates in the galaxy. The choices are vast enough to satisfy anyone embarking on this flavor exploration, whether you prefer a refreshing drink to toast a successful mission or something bolder, like a phaser on stun! The menu features a delightful array of options, including fresh salads, tantalizing finger foods, and, of course, their famed burgers. My wife's enthusiasm for the offerings has always been infectious, and during this visit, she and her girlfriend were on a culinary adventure of their own, indulging in the flavors that have made Nicky Rottens a local favorite. The burgers are truly out of this world--juicy, flavorful, and expertly crafted to ensure a warp-speed experience with every bite. You'll find that each dish is prepared with precision, as if overseen by a skilled chef with the abilities of a Vulcan and the passion of a true culinary Starfleet officer. In conclusion, Nicky Rottens is a prime destination for anyone seeking a vibrant atmosphere, stunning views, and a solid meal. I can confidently say that if you ever find yourself in Coronado, this establishment is a must-visit. After all, it's just one small step for man, and one giant leap into deliciousness! Got a paloma and the flavor was more intense than I expected, but it was pretty good…read more Tater tots are nice and crispy, great texture. Aside from that, they're generic normal tasting tater tots. For the burger, I liked the bun and other ingredients, but thought the savoriness of the meat was just okay. Also, can't say I'm a huge fan of the tiny lettuce whenever I see it. Overall, this joint is not bad, but I can think of very little about it that stands out. I don't feel that it fully leans into being a sports bar or dive bar or even as a burger joint. It's just.....a bar. Apparently, it prides itself as being an original coronado spot, but I didn't get that kinda vibe here. I don't know.
