The Naked Burger (front) & Sunrise Burger (back)
    Jalina R.

Saw this spot when we drove by one day so we decided to come try it. When placing our order, the guy taking our order asked if it was our first time there. We said yes and gave us 2 drink cups on him. What we ordered The Naked Burger - one patty and added bacon. Pretty big smash burger for me. It was good. Sunrise Burger - bf ordered. He loved it. Hash brown, bacon, friend egg. It was great We ordered half onion rings/half fries, but when they handed us our order they gave us tots. Guy behind the counter said to keep it and he will have our half/half out. Good friendly customer service here. We'll be back to try other things

We have seen The Burger Joint & Brew (TBJAB) in passing many times (when we are driving home from Baba Kabob). Recently a family member ended up being in the area and trying it out. They had a positive experience and we decided that we would go back. We came here on a Wednesday night right around 7:00pm. Plenty of parking and easy to find. I found the restaurant aesthetically pleasing on the outside and inside. You notice the openness of the place right away when you walk up. No windows! It's nice and cool on a beautiful summer night in San Diego. I just wonder what happens on those hot days when it is dry heat and there's no airflow. I'll probably check it out on one of those days. I love the feel of the place though. The decor and art. Loves the bar and all the televisions they had. A young woman greeted us and told us she could answer questions if we had any as we looked at the menu. There were three people in our party. After a short moment we were ready to order. I decided to go the "The Joint," it's a smashburger style beef patty with caramelized onions, pickles, melted cheese and Joint Sauce on a toasted bun. You can go single (patty), double, or triple. I thought I'd be good with a single (I was right). The other two fatties with me went with doubles. We order a large half and half fries and onion rings, which was more than adequate for our group of three (we didn't even finish it all). We also ordered shakes: Oreo, Reese's and Tres Leches. Our food came out in the time you would expect for made to order burgers. Immediately I noticed that there was no lettuce or tomatoes, but it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. The sauce tasted similar to Raising Cane's sauce. It was hot, tasty and had good flavor. I'll probably try their Stars and Stripes Burger next time (it has lettuce and tomatoes). My company also enjoyed their burgers and shakes. The shakes were thick and delicious. I liked my Reese's over the others. The fries and rings were good. They came with small containers of Ranch and the Joint Sauce (Raising Cane's style sauce). The place is very clean. Service good. It was pricey, but what isn't these days? It's not In N Out... I could probably eat In N Out once or twice a month. But I could see myself hitting this place up maybe once every other month or so. Apparently these also are associated with The Pizza Joint which is also in the same shopping center. We checked it out after having out burgers and the pies in the display case looked good! They told us if we liked the burgers that we'd probably like the pizza as well. We are fans and will return. 4 / 5: Food (Burgers, Fries, Rings, and Shakes). 4 / 5: Service 5 / 5: Cleanliness (loved the seating, TVs, decor, and openness) 4.3 / 5: Overall

"Solid Burger Bar" An excellent smash burger style restaurant on Miramar road who's food definitely matches the bold color scheme. The burger was well seasoned and smashed well with the crispy edges. The patties were a bit on the lean side so it was lacking a bit of fat for moisture but the flavor was still good. Fries were great as well and came out crispy and piping hot. Additionally the menu had some fun and unique types of burgers but I just went with the classic for my first time. Definitely will have to come back and try some of the other burgers here! Best Bite: Double Joint Burger

Looking for a new to use place to try in the area and we came across Burger Joint & Brew. Ample parking. Ample seating. Nice breezy high table top seating, it was great for a hot day. There were so many things that sounded delicious. I definitely want to try more but we settled on a single smash cheeseburger and a impossible smash cheeseburger. We also had half fries and onion rings as a side. I liked the crispy edges of the patty. I wasn't a big fan of the bun. It was too buttery for my liking. The sauce was good. The fries and onion rings were both perfectly fried and delicious. And if you weren't old, the impossible burger might pass for meat... I want to try the fries loaded with the patty, cheese, etc. next time and maybe the hashbrown onion rings or the burger that has it.

Burger Joint & Brew is certainly a gem amidst the loooong road that is Miramar Rd. Definitely eye catching with a spacious, simple concept. I ordered: stars & stripes burger (1 patty), hashbrown rings (think hashbrowns shaped like onion rings), and an Oreo shake. The burger itself was flavorful and comes with their signature sauce which has a hint of citrus. The hashbrown rings are a fun concept--equally delicious and not oily at all. I would love to see this accompanied by a breakfast burger! The Oreo shake was delicious and not too creamy. Knocked off a star because I ordered pick-up through Uber Eats. When I arrived to pick up my order, the cashiers said they never got the order (and I unfortunately had to wait longer for something I ordered ahead of time).

This is my second time here. Clean place with good atmosphere. The burgers are just ok. Really thick buns that are a little dry. & they put nacho cheese on the joint fries. If you want a good burger, go to Dukes in La Mesa.

Delicious food! Fresh cut fries always taste the best! Love the open bay windows. When the temperature is right, you are eating in the shade with the feel of the outsides.

Food was good and came as advertised, more importantly...the smash burger was ACTUALLY a smash burger!! Service was also good, we came on a Sunday (Happy Hour All Day!) and food came within a reasonable time. The joint is so cute and decorated on theme perfectly!

Overall a good experience at the Burger Joint & Brew. We went for an early dinner on a Saturday and the place was not busy and plenty of open tables. Very nice decor inside and well maintained establishment. You seat yourself and order at the counter. They sell beer and also offer some halal options. Shout out to the woman working on Saturday afternoon she was very attentive and we observed constantly being proactive stocking the bottled sodas, cleaning the tables and vacuuming the floors, wiping the counters, etc. She wasn't just not just standing around behind the counter. We ordered: Joint burger, great sized burger for a smash patty. The buns were nicely toasted and their joint sauce was tasty. Cali burger- good amount of avocado and bacon, decent size for a double patty. Large order of 1/2 onion rings and fries- our favorite were the onion rings, nicely battered and perfectly crispy. The fries tasted fresh cut and were ok, however we would have liked them a bit more crispy. Chocolate shake- rich and creamy with real chocolate ice cream and topped with whipped cream and sprinkles. What would have made this a 5 star would have been if all the food would have been ready at the same time. There was a bit of a lag from when one burger was brought to our table and the second burger and fries/onion rings were brought. Maybe the kitchen was a bit behind, however I appreciate the food being brought out when ready, but we don't start eating until everyone has their food served.

I called ahead to ask about happy hour and was told they had specials on wings and beer. Unfortunately, nobody really explained what the actual happy hour specials were, which would have been helpful before making the drive. I was told the beer specials included Pacifico, Modelo, and Fall Brewing. Since Fall Brewing was the one I was interested in, I drove about 15 minutes hoping to have a few beers, watch the Colombia vs. Jordan soccer game, and try one of their burgers. When I arrived, I was told they were out of Fall Brewing. The employee didn't seem very familiar with the beer selection or what was currently available. That was disappointing, especially after being told on the phone that they had it. A simple heads-up would have saved me the trip. It also would have been nice if they had offered a comparable beer at the happy hour price since the advertised option wasn't available. The restaurant itself is clean and well-kept, but there wasn't much atmosphere during my visit. I was the only customer dining in, and the place felt pretty lifeless. I ordered the: Joint Burger (single): came out to just under $10. I have to give credit where it's due - the burger was actually delicious. The smash patty was cooked perfectly, the bun had a nice crisp to it, and whatever sauce they put on it was excellent. They clearly know how to make a good burger. There are several TVs throughout the restaurant, but they were showing an old UFC fight and poker tournaments. Considering the Colombia vs. Jordan match was being played at the time, I was surprised none of the TVs were showing it. I asked about it, and one of the employees was kind enough to check, but it appeared they didn't have the channel. Overall, the burger was the highlight of the visit. However, the confusing happy hour, lack of the beer I was specifically told would be available, and the very low-energy atmosphere made for a disappointing experience. If you're looking for a good burger, this place delivers. If you're looking for a lively sports-bar atmosphere, a solid happy hour, or a place to watch a game, I'd probably look elsewhere.

    Joint burger & onion rings

We did not like the joint burger...too much bun and no flavor on burger. Zero pepsi out of order. One small cup of ranch for Large onion rings. They were very good.

Holy shitballs is this place dope. Super fresh smash burgers and ingredients. Onion rings are money. Dynamic combos here. Great draft beer and bottled soda selection EXCELLENT and friendly staff every time. If you in the area and need a burger, this is THE BURGER JOINT for you.

If you are looking for a great smash burger, you've got to check out the Burger Joint. We read about the place on Next Door and decided to check it out. What a pleasant surprise. The burgers (available as single, double or triple) are 3-4 oz patties and are delicious. They use a brioche bun which kicks it up another notch. We got a small order of fries & onion ring mixture. The onion rings were crisp and perfectly fried (not at all oily). The fries are made out of fresh potatoes and they too are on point. The server was friendly and recommended the fries and rings mixture. We also met the owner, Dee who was very hospitable and told us about his commitment to fresh, high quality ingredients. They have a very nice bar area as well. We look forward to trying other sandwiches.

It's been pretty hot in sd and this place has a lot of large open windows that were all open, I usually love that feature but it was an abnormally humid night so we were all pretty hot and sweaty inside. Food was good with affordable prices too, we came here quite late at night, so we were limited to only their late-night menu, but everything was quite tasty, typical bar food. Our standout favorite was the maple sriracha wings for $10.61, their flavor is exactly like described and was a good balance of sweet and spicy! The Butter Burger $10.57 was good too but I think too rich and heavy for me. The prices were great tho! Parking is pretty terrible as is typical for downtown, but we walked from Punch Bowl Social and had Ubered to there at the beginning of the night. ---- Overall: a cool place to hangout, drink, and grab a bite late at night, I'm sad about not being able to play a whole game of foosball, but a generally great time

My guy and I got the Totchos (beans and sour cream on side) with chicken (they were out of pork) at a coworker's recommendation. These were actually impressively good! The tots were crispy and only slightly oily. There was a decent amount of chicken and other ingredients involved and the portion size wasn't too bad. Getting the beans on the side was the right move because the tots stayed crispy the whole time. Honestly, I would come back here for the totchos again, but would enjoy it more next time if they had a sour to pair with it.
