These tacos were absolutely delicious!! We were given chips and were able to taste some meats while we waited for our food. Amazing tacos and customer service!

i cannot believe the gem this place is. everything about it is perfect. the owner is a delight and you can tell he cares about making good food for people. one of the friendliest people i've met and is so happy to make anything for you. he doesn't make tortilla chips, but i asked him for a bag and he threw one together with me with some fantastic salsa with genuine pleasure to do so. some of the best i've had in the city. will be coming here often since i live close by, this place is a genuine winner and must visit! not to mention late hours?? one of the only places open late with good food, i'm sold.

    MASSIVE burrito

We're visiting from California and this is BY FAR the BEST food we've had during our stay in Portland. The owner is the NICEST man, he offered us free taquitos while we waited for our food and gave us complimentary sodas as we were heading out. The burrito was massive, both it and the taco were SUPER YUMMY! I'm not usually one to leave a Yelp review, but Frida's Kitchen is the exception for its delicious food and amazing service.

The BEST food cart experience I have ever had. Probably best service I've ever had, period. We met Lorenzo and he said "everything is good!" He gave me some samples and talked to me about his vision and passion for making great food, so fresh and tasty! He was so kind and welcoming and everything that I had was delectable. I got carne asada tacos and they were packed with meat and fresh Pico. I had asked for like 4 tacos and he was like "these are big tacos, not like other places, you can eat 4?!" I settled for two and hardly finished because i was so full. It was perfect. Everything was fresh and I'm not exaggerating when I say it's the best I've ever had. I will be dreaming of the fresh chunky guacamole and fresh tortilla chips until my next visit. I will be telling all my friends! This guy cooks with his heart. I also love the rapport he has with his customers. I heard a few regulars stopping by and he was lovely with them and they all said they loved their food!

You have the option of just eggs (as the protein), or you can choose to have it with bacon or sausage, or bacon AND sausage. As of March 2026, it starts at $8 for the basic; $9 for bacon or sausage; and $10 for both bacon and sausage. You'll know where they are by the crowd waiting for their burritos (or the line I suppose - when I went, there was no line but apparently there are times when there are lines). The burrito was good, but the salsa is the reason I would return. The salsa (both of them) are amazing!

Bacon was nice and crisp. Loved the addition of the pepper in it and the salsa's were great and really complemented the burrito. One of the best breakfast burritos I've had in Portland. Could have been a tad bigger but I left full so no complaints. Price: $9 for Bacon or Sausage Breakfast Burrito. $10 for Both. Reasonable prices for a Breakfast Burrito. Service: Walk-up service but everything was good. Parking: Street parking. I was able to find pretty easy parking despite a crowded farmers market.

The painting on the walls and furniture is very festive! I love how they have different seating area rooms to spread guests out for privacy. They also have a covered outdoor seating area available. Staff was welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive. I read reviews about their complimentary chips, salsa and bean dip. We asked for the bean dip, but we found out when we received our bill that it's not complimentary anymore. Bummer. It was good, but not worth the extra $5. They were extremely generous with their chips and salsa, so in the end we were okay paying the extra $5. We ordered the chicken quesadilla and charbroiled burger. Both were great! Fresh ingredients. The quesadilla wasn't greasy at all. Neither were the chips! Our server recommended the pollo asada for my quesadilla and it was much appreciated. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious, including the charbroiled flavor. Overall a wonderful first visit here. We'll definitely be back! Would highly recommend.

This is elevated mexican food so you won't find any burritos here and many dishes are seafood, three dishes (empanditas and quesadilla, hongos/mushroom main) provide vegetarian options. The menu is two sections, appetizers to share (most easily shared 2 people per dish as they come with 2 tostaditas) and a shared larger dish section of a protein with accompaniments big enough for 2-4. Order from the wine menu by trusting your waitstaff - you can get half pours to try more from the well curated list. Dishes are flavorful and fun and you'll want to leave no drop of salsa behind.

Those who know... Know…read more We first got to know chef Lauro Romero's work at República, then at La Fondita, which filled a very special place for us as transplants from Mexico who missed the food from home and loved his elevated take on it. This new project replicates the magic but keeps the approachability that we loved so much about La Fondita, this time in an evening format. Expect a family style dinner with Mexican staples like cochinita and carne asada, elevated with exquisite salsas and handmade tortillas that have real nixtamalized heirloom corn. If you don't know what wine to order, ask--and you might get a chance to taste before you commit to the full glass. Or order a half glass and create your own wine pairing menu. You might think that a chef with a heritage like Lauro Romero might break the bank, but you would be wrong. We paid about $120 for multiple courses + desert for two. While I don't have a problem paying top dollar for good food, and Clandestino could easily be that kind of restaurant, I appreciate the philosophy of keeping elevated food relatively affordable. How else are Portlanders going to learn what the real thing tastes like? Of course, there are some small things they are still working out as a new restaurant. I would have liked to see some Mexican wines on the list, and it's unfortunate they only open Monday-Wednesday. But all in good time. Meanwhile, we will be taking advantage of the fact that it's still relatively easy to get a table and sharing this place with people we know will appreciate it for what it is.

Yes we made a reservation. No we did not all sit at the same table, we were split up. Yes we told the server at the start we were separate checks. Server responded they can only check four ways. We said fine, and told the server who would be on which check before we ordered to try and make it easier to pay. No, it did not help. There is only one single stall bathroom. As soon as we finished paying, while we were standing and waiting for people to finish with the bathroom, a server came up and said, "not to be rude, but you have to leave." I get it, it is a small restaurant. We were a large group. But, I had to ask to order. I had to ask for our check when we were clearly all finished eating and just chatting. The checks were wrong, despite us telling the server at the start who was on each check. It took at least 10 minutes to get the checks all right. We left a 20% cash tip on the table, even though we were never asked if we wanted more drinks (some of us ordered cocktails), dessert, or really checked up on. Food and cocktails were good. Chips and salsa is $5 and while good, the portions were small if you expect to share with a table of four. Parking was easy.
