This was my first appointment here and I was with the Hair Stylist Danielle. The appointment was long but I loved the amount of care and effort she put into cutting my hair. I wasn't rushed or anything! I had the sudden urge to cut off all my hair into a bob after seeing my current hair in a picture of me in the sun... My hair was BAD .. I could see the color difference between my natural hair growing out and the old bleached hair that I dyed a chocolate brown. I was panicked when I saw this in my picture... It was literally looking at two separate people's hair. YIKES.. Danielle saved the day! I usually have a tough time finding a good stylist but I'm glad I trusted Danielle with this transition from long to short hair. The only reason I did not give a 5 star is because i mentioned to her how short i want my hair to be cut (about my chest area) but without warning she just cut and cut and she was so fast before i can say anything the hair is already shorter than what I wanted and unfortunately i can't stop her or even have time to say anything. i wish she communicate more with me while cutting. She took a look at the photos I wanted to refer to and was immediately confident and flattering--and she executed the perfect cut and style. That was just the beginning of this unfortunate experience with Kelly. We rescheduled to meet at her new salon on Sacramento Ave. The door was locked when I arrived at the time of our appointment, so I knocked when I got there and waited a bit, then texted to let her know I was there. She then called me says oops shes at her old salon Shed and could I come there, implying that she forgot about our appointment. I drove there and as soon as she started on my hair her client who she had seemingly double booked for that time (because she forgot about my appointment) came in and she immediately begins rushing my hair and lets the other client know that she was "almost done" with me when we had started 2 minutes ago! She then rushes through the other clients haircut during my foils while explaining all the reasons she was so disorganized. Of course I can be sympathetic to an extent but I am not your friend, I'm a client paying a lot of money for a nice experience and proper service that I saved up for. The whole thing was extremely rushed, and at the end I asked if there was any way I could receive a concession for the inconveniences. She was shocked and asked why. I mentioned the rescheduling and the location error. She got pretty defensive and was hesitant to provide aforementioned concession but then took $15 off. I still tipped 20% though it was not deserved. Extremely unprofessional experience. Also my hair looked basically the same after paying $150 to make it blonder. (I asked for a little less platinum than I had before, but clarified that I still wanted blonde.) I was trying to trust the process and wait until she was done and I barely saw a difference. Sad. It felt so rushed. Not sure if she's this unprofessional with all her clients or if she didn't think she had to be since I am a teenager. Either way super disappointing.
