    Service Report

I expected much better diagnostic work and communication from a Chevrolet dealership. I brought my 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 5.3L V8 to Friendly Chevrolet because of an ongoing P0300 random/multiple-cylinder misfire and check-engine-light problem. This wasn't the first attempt to address the issue. The spark plugs and wires had already been replaced previously, and the check-engine light eventually returned. I brought the vehicle to Friendly because I wanted the underlying cause of the recurring misfire diagnosed, not simply another round of routine maintenance. After they had the truck, I received a call telling me that the code had gone away, they couldn't get the vehicle to misfire, and they couldn't determine where the misfire was coming from. I accepted that explanation and went to retrieve my truck. When I picked it up, however, the check-engine light was still on. That's where I became extremely disappointed with the experience. If I'm being told the code has gone away and the condition cannot be reproduced, I don't expect to receive the vehicle back with the same warning light illuminated. I was also given recommendations involving the misfire and fuel-injection/induction and throttle-body cleaning. The spark plugs and wires had already been replaced, and the maintenance services being discussed had already been addressed. A P0300 identifies a random/multiple-cylinder misfire; it does not by itself establish that spark plugs, wires, injectors, or an induction cleaning are the root cause. I understand that intermittent automotive problems can be difficult to diagnose, and I would not criticize a technician simply because a difficult problem couldn't immediately be found. My complaint is about the overall diagnostic process and communication. I brought the truck to a Chevrolet dealership expecting a professional diagnosis. Instead, I spent my time bringing the vehicle in, was charged for diagnosis, received recommendations that didn't identify the actual cause, and picked up the Silverado with the check-engine light still illuminated. I'm now taking the vehicle to another Chevrolet service department to have the problem diagnosed properly. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend Friendly Chevrolet for a complex or intermittent engine-diagnostic problem. I expected better troubleshooting, clearer communication, and more attention to the actual complaint before the vehicle was returned to me.

My husband purchased me a 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe from here and I loved it! So nice on the outside and in. Well a little over 30 days into it I had a cylinder misfire. I had to get it towed back in and they worked on it for 4 weeks couldn't get a loaner because it was 89 people on the waiting list. Well 2 rental cars and 2,000 for the repair later I come to get my truck. I was told the total was 9,000 but I would only pay 1,000 because GM would pay the rest as a good will service being that I hadn't had truck over a month. I get in and it's an additional 843.00. Totaling a little over 1900.00. Did a test drive and it's still shaking. But they assured the repair had a warranty. Took it home because we are in need of a vehicle with little to no other choices..but unsure of what's to come. Had to get it serviced before even paying the first truck note. It's just a hard pill to swallow when you buy a 56,000 vehicle for you and your kids and it leaves you on side the road 30 days later. Do your research before purchasing a used vehicle here.

I recently purchased a 2026 Chevy from Friendly Chevrolet, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From start to finish, Derrick "Binky" Johnson made the entire process smooth, transparent, and even enjoyable. Not to mention this is the 3rd vehicle I've purchased from Derrick at Friendly Chevy. Binky was incredibly knowledgeable about the new models and took the time to walk me through all the updated features and options without ever making me feel rushed or pressured. He was upfront about pricing, answered all my questions with honesty, and worked hard to find a deal that fit my budget. Also, Friendly Chevrolet provide multiple perks with their "Concierge Plus" program. Perks such as, complimentary car washes, complimentary oil changes, loaner cars if needed and more. What really stood out was his genuine friendliness and professionalism. It's rare these days to find a salesperson who listens more than they talk, but that's exactly what Binky did. He made sure I felt confident and comfortable at every step, from the test drive to signing the final paperwork. Fred in Finance helped me to finalize my paperwork he was amazing as well!!! If you're looking for a new vehicle and want to be treated with respect and integrity, I highly recommend stopping by Friendly Chevrolet in Dallas and asking for Derrick "Binky" Johnson. Thanks to him, I drove off the lot in a car I love and had a great experience getting there. Thanks Again Binky & Friendly Chevy Xoxo Bri.

NEVER TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP FOR REPAIR! On December…read more20,2024 I was involved in a minor accident on the Tollway. The right rear panel and rear passenger door were damaged. The car was easily driveable however a tow truck appeared and offered to take my car to the nearest collision center which was Xtreme Collision. It was not a preferred shop for State Farm Insurance but I was reassured by both the shop and State Farm that this was not unusual and the repairs could be done there. I thought it would be a 6 week project and all would be well. Week after week ,month after month I was told it was progressing. I finally went down to the shop and was shocked to see that they had completely dismantled my car, replacing parts that were not damaged in the accident. The car was leased, only three years old , low milage and high residual value. I was told that dismantling of my car was necessary in order to paint it appropriately. Soon my allotted rental car appropriation had been exhausted and I was then renting from Enterprise at my own expense. The lease on my damaged car was up at the end of April and then I was paying daily lease on the car in the shop since I had no car to return at the lease end. In late May the shop still was unable to complete the work and State Farm decided to declare the car a total loss and cut their losses with the shop. The shop would have received several thousand more if they had finished the job. The fact that they decided to accept the lesser payment for a total loss suggests that they were unable to finish the job. I believe that this shop is dishonest, deceptive and incompetent. They did way more on my car than necessary in order to gain more payment from the insurance company. In the end they had taken it apart and were too incompetent to put it back together again. I had a 4000 dollar rental from Enterprise because I was without a car for over 5 months . I had continued lease liability on the car in the shop because I could not turn it in on time. As noted above, the total time of this ordeal was 5 months, two weeks.

From my first call, owner Mark put me at ease, explaining that the inspection would be no problem and completely free of charge. When we arrived, the front‑desk ladies were friendly and checked us in without a hitch. My technician Brad was awesome. He thoroughly inspected the car, patiently answered all of our questions, and even offered balanced, "in‑your‑shoes" recommendations to guide our car‑buying decision. He was professional, caring, easy to work with, and went well beyond what I expected. If you're shopping for a pre‑owned vehicle and want true peace of mind, I can't recommend Xtreme Collision highly enough. Their expertise, friendliness, and genuine customer care make them the go‑to spot for anyone needing an expert assessment before buying.

Park Place BodyWerks - Paint overspray on my interior window, damaging my tint

What should have been a one week process turned into a three month nightmare of shop negligence, property damage, and management avoiding accountability. * Exterior Damage: While replacing my rear bumper, they chipped the edge and tried to use a paint marker to cover up their mistake. Afterwards, they failed to properly blend the paint from the bumper repair to the quarter panel. In trying to fix it across multiple return trips to the body shop, they ended up repainting my pristine front door and fender, ruined the hand painted pinstripe, and chemically damaged my taillights while trying to correct the paint. Currently, the fender still does not blend with my hood and the taillight still has chemicals damages. * Interior Damage: The shop allowed paint overspray to get all over my car's interior. Instead of hiring a professional tint specialist to address the overspray on my high end LLumar FormulaOne Pinnacle Ceramic window tint, shop employees aggressively wiped it down with harsh chemicals instead of replacing it. * Incompetent Inspection Protocols: When I raised concerns about the structural integrity and Infrared (IR) heat rejection of my ceramic film after chemical exposure, Body Shop Manager Brandon Gillespy tried to use his UV meter he personally bought to "prove" the tint was fine. * Management Dismissal: When escalated to the Director of Body Shop Operations, Eric McKenzie, I was met with complete dismissal. He refused to authorize a professional inspection at an authorized LLumar dealer and claimed the car "looked great" visually. After I requested a thorough inspection of the rest of the interior, Brandon and Eric both insisted it was great. However, I later found paint overspray on my radio receiver and front window, alongside damage to my tint. This shop damaged my luxury vehicle's exterior, compromised my premium ceramic window film, and then tried to "grade their own homework" to dodge liability. They are now completely ignoring my emails. If you care about your factory paint, your high-end aftermarket additions, or professional customer service, do not trust Brandon, Eric, or the team at Park Place BodyWerks.
