Service is horrible. Staff very unprofessional. I ordered 2 ice cream sundaes and 2 Fribbles. Sundaes were melted, and the fribbles were not securely placed into the bag. I was told they were and they spilled all over the inside of the bag and leaked out onto my passenger front seat. I called to speak to the manager. He goes sorry about the fribbles, hold on. He then goes the freezer is working. Let me see what I can do. He said there was nothing he can do. Took my name and number but never called me back. Seriously? He was very rude on the phone and unprofessional. I did get a full refund because I reached out to someone superior to him. What I thought was a nice treat for my family turned into a horrible experience. I will never order from there again. I will go to carvel it's worth the trip. Actually enjoyed this friendly's more than any other location that I have been to. We had Chelsea as our waiter. She was very friendly and fast and was on top of making sure we had everything we needed. The food was hot!!!! Which was a good thing because the Ronkonkoma location food was cold and gross. The ice cream was good. I was really expecting terrible service and crappy food;however, this friendly's went well beyond my expectations. I am a big fan of Friendly's, have been my entire life but this visit not so much. To start the diet soda tasted bitter, I mentioned it to the waitress as I thought maybe the syrup was about to run out & it was bitter bc the ratio of seltzer/syrup was off. She disposed of our drinks and brought back 2 new ones a long time afterwards & they were exactly the same as the first, she said she had checked the machine & nothing was low or out of the ordinary, so rather than ask us if we'd like anything else or check Curto to the issue she just brought us new drinks that tasted as awful as the first set. Once more the waitress disappeared for a long time I waved her over & told her , she explained so I mentioned to her that she should notify the management bc the sweetener in diet soda expires and most likely that's the issue with its taste. Nothing. Ok so the next issue I had with this. Is it is our food came out at different times, like a good 5 to 7 minutes after the other 2 meals were delivered & out onion rings that were ordered with the food weren't delivered to the table until we were all almost finished with the dinner. We asked for a box to take food home & the table next to us ordered & received their food before she came back to take our ice cream order empty handed. No box! Just horrible service. read more

I wish I could explain here how horrible the place was tonight, but I would have to write many paragraphs. Stay away - my family and I had the worst experience. The place filthy - tables around us with piles of dirty dishes, debris, floors dirty, flying insects - knats. The Wait staff extremely slow, never got the order right , served us cold coffee , the food was also cold, looked like it was sitting around, french fries gross, soggy. When we order ice cream, we waited 35 minutes, even though the place was empty - besides us. When I finally got up to find the waitress and ask for our ice cream, she along with other staff members were "hanging out" in back room talking, while our ice cream was sitting on a shelf melting away. It's beyond a shame that every time I come here something is made wrong. Tonight my boyfriend and I came to the Ice-cream counter to of been greeted with an unfriendly cashier. Next the menus were sticky which led me to believe they haven't been whipped down all day, possibly all week. Following, we get home to notice that our order was wrong. Hot fudge & peanut butter sauce was missing from both. Additionally I asked for no cherries and Reece's pieces, which I didn't receive either. The ice cream prep counter was also dirty, with the friendly worker failing to clean the frenzy/milkshake machine in between orders. Omg went here with the family me my wife and my kids for ice cream. sat down at 9pm was not waited on till 9:35 and the dinning room was basically empty so sat the for 35 minutes watching the servers walk by us again and again. At 9:35 a server finally came to our table and thats after my wife had to get up and ask for someone. We asked to start off with water while we wait for the ice cream that we ordered at the same time as the water it took 12 minutes for the water wich came and no straws so had to get up and ask for straws. The ice cream came at 10:15 that a hour and 15 minutes just for ice cream. Ice cream came and it was melted and the hot fudge was not hot at all instead it was dried up. Had to ask to speak to a manager. The manager phil came to our table and we filled him in on our concerns and his excuse was that they where extremely busy with door dash orders and people was being extremely picky about their orders . We waited over 30 minutes for our ice cream due to Brandon being the only one actually working. The management here sucks. As he is scooping the ice cream he looks around and Licks the entire Ice Cream Scooper with his tongue and puts it back into the water. Slow service and really, really awful food. The Friendly's of my childhood is gone. The experience I had tonight was so disappointing. My party of 4 had 3 meals that were disgusting, and the one meal that was enjoyed was the Kraft Mac n cheese. I had promised my kids that they could have ice cream, but by the time the server came back to take our dessert order we just wanted to get out of there so we ordered ice cream to-go. I'm not really sure what the appeal of this place is? I mean we're in Long Island, there are literally dozens of other diners within a 10 mile radius, so I don't really understand the brand loyalty that goes on here. Often as a tween I'd come here after chorus concerts and plays with my friends, we'd mostly just hang out and talk smack, but the food was never particularly good? I always kind of came along because of other peoples' preferences. As a vegetarian there are like no options here, yeah there's a really greasy grilled cheese and fries or a slimy cheese quesadilla, but my god what is there to gain here? My friends would get the ice cream/sundaes, but I feel like their ice cream isn't even that great? Sometimes we'd have to wait over half an hour for one order of a 2 scoop sundae, I mean, it's like these people enjoy the the sub-par-ness that is Friendly's. Pass. read more

Had lunch here with my mom and son. Wait time was about 5 mins. Our hostess and waitress was Nicole. She was great! Smiling, friendly and attentive. Food was very good. We received it hot. Which was perfect. This was the first time we have been to friendlys and got our food and ice cream as soon as everything was made. Nothing was sitting around. Great job to the cooks and especially to Nicole! Only Con was that there are not many tables. We do not like the tall tables. Booths are short and snug. The waitress was very nice and friendly. Came here after my sons baseball game at Baseball Heaven. They were busy had a bit of wait. The reason for 3 stars is I ordered a sprite and when it came it was in a glass with chips all around the rim. I had to ask for it to be changed because I was afraid I would be swallowing glass. Not sure why a restaurant would allow broken glass to be used to serve customers. Makes me worry about what else they would allow. We have been coming to this one since my daughter was a toddler. Great food and even better ice cream! It sure beats a trip to mcdonalds or burger king! (Was 1 Star) Manager Jose was completely inappropriate tonight with a group of 4 teenage children. Accusatory, Narcissistic, Paranoid. If I wrote down what happened, no one would believe it. It involves this man making a mistake, not wanting to pay for it, and thus literally trying to get anyone to pay. He accusingly asked my table "are you with THEM", insinuating the 4 kids. We didn't know them. He abruptly walked off and involved us with their table. He was harsh, careless, and demeaning to the kids, and they appeared helpless. After much discussion with the staff and kids, we realized They did absolutely nothing wrong. Over 4 employees themselves got involved and apologized for his behavior. But this man continued! My table (us being 4 Teachers) were very aware of his treatment of the kids. This situation lasted over 40 minutes. An employee accused him of stealing tips. A different employee said "this is how it always is here with him, I apologize for his behavior". Still ANOTHER employee said he was asked for his own personal credit card to pay for the managers mistake in the computer system. The whole thing was absolutely ridiculous. Then the parents arrived and he ALSO treated them horrible, even chuckling and walking away from them as they tried to understand what was going on. This was now over 16 people involved. I said this can't wait, we need to speak To someone higher right now. Graciously, I begged an employee to call the GM's personal phone. He had already. The GM couldn't be bothered. I said, let me talk to her please, she doesn't understand how bad it is. When speaking to Peters she abruptly told me to wait till tomorrow. (In her defense, who wants to deal with a random person on a personal phone; I wouldn't. But still, how bad would it have to be for me, a Teacher and Stranger, to get so involved and do this?) I could tell at the end, she tried to professional just end the call, but honestly seemed to care less. Now I'm worried there'll be backlash against this employee! This is nuts. Based on all of this occurring, and more that followed, I would assume there is no way this is an isolated incident for this man. His harsh question to us, his behavior with the children, his behavior to the parents, the fact that every employee on staff felt comfortable, if not obligated, to vent their frustration and anger of him; Jose should work on changing his attitude and leadership, or he ought not be there. Friendlys is already in decline. It does not need Nail for the coffin, it's need some fresh life. Him being allowed to continue in his position without change would be very foolish for this wonderful restaurant. (5 Stars) FOLLOW UP: September 30th Just had a great conversation with the District Manager Tina. The situation is being dealt with promptly and professionally. In leadership, we cannot predict everything that will happen; all we can do is deal with it as it happens.
