I have to update my review of Friends Diner! My husband and I stopped in for breakfast because he'd eaten there a couple of weeks ago and found that it was very good and said I needed to try it again. I had orange juice and the Dippy Breakfast - two eggs, bacon and sausage, white toast. It was excellent! My husband had the protein breakfast which was low-carb and he said it was excellent also. Amber was working the entire dining room by herself and the place filled up with what appeared to be mostly regulars as soon as the doors opened. Even with waiting on an entire dining room of people single-handedly, Amber got everything right and our meal was served in a very timely manner. I loved observing how she knew so many of the people by name and what their usual drinks were etc. It speaks well of a business to have so many regulars. So all in all, I think the Friends Diner is going to become a place where we also regularly eat. read more

I have been here twice recently for breakfast and both times the food was excellent. I had no complaints at all. I had the protein platter and it was very good. The other time I had ham and potatoes - and they gave me biscuits and gravy as well. No complaints whatsoever read more

Ordered one thing, got another. Ordered omelette with Colby, Bacon, Peppers, Onions. Simple enough. Received omelette with bacon and American cheese. Came smothered in gravy. Gravy was from a packet you mix with water. Service was outstanding. Our waitress was on top of it. I didn't ask for the correct order because I'm not sitting around and waiting any longer. Should've got it right the first time. Kids got pancakes. Hard to screw that up. They were okay. I hate to shit on a local business but there are much better breakfast options within a 5-10 minute drive. I probably won't be back. read more

This is a cute old casual diner with friendly service. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. It appears to appeal to people 60 and over. The only problem that I had was with the silverware. It looked dirty. I wasn't sure if it was actually dirty or just very old and worn. I asked our waitress if they had been cleaned. She said yes but that they always look like that. I had a very disappointing experience at this diner. When my friend and I were seated, the table had clearly not been cleaned from the previous customers. There was still trash and used items left on it, which immediately made the place feel unhygienic. Our waiter (Stacy)didn't greet us or acknowledge us in any welcoming way. She took our order for coffee, but brought the wrong type of creamer. Since my friend and I were in conversation and expected the server to bring what we had ordered, we didn't double-check and used the creamer. After taking a sip, we realized it wasn't what we had asked for, so we politely called her back and asked for a new cup of coffee and the correct creamer. What happened next was shocking. Instead of bringing fresh creamer, she grabbed the bowl of trash that had been left on our table from the previous customers and started digging through it to pull out three regular creamers, then handed them to us. She left the mess on the table and walked away. To make matters worse, we later noticed her talking to other coworkers who were staring at us, which felt extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. Because of the poor service and attitude, we decided to leave and explained to her why. Her response was to ask why we didn't check the creamer before using it. Overall, the experience felt unsanitary and the service was rude and dismissive. I would not recommend this place based on how we were treated. read more

Great food, budget friendly, local feel... and their sweet tea hits home for me. It tastes just like my nana used to make. I get a little emotional every time I have the first sip of sweet tea Love their breakfast and the menu is massive. They have a good looking lunch and dinner menu, but we always go for breakfast. I had the sirloin and eggs most recently and was pleasantly surprised at how thick the sirloin was. read more

This nice mom and pop diner is located inside of a little strip mall. Being that it is located in a strip mall, it has a lot of available paring in the lot that it shares with the other businesses in the mall. The diner has a small waiting area and a relatively small dining area as well. The staff there was working so hard and were very friendly. My server, Valerie was awesome. The dining room has a television playing for patrons to watch. They brought a coloring sheet and crayons out to my table for my little to entertain hisself. The menu has you typical breakfast and lunch diner favorites. They also offer daily specials. I ordered a cinnamon roll for my little and I got the Western breakfast meat platter, which was basket a skillet meal, but without the skillet. It came with two eggs and a biscuits and gravy. My food was ready and on my table in about 8 minutes. The platter was good. It was fresh, hot and flavorful. I really liked it. The biscuits and gravy were good too. I was not a fan of the eggs though. They could have been a bit better. This place has some good down home service, good food and a small home town feel. I recommend checking this place out if you are in the area. read more

The first thing said to us upon arrival: "we close at 4 pm.". We arrived at 3:30 pm Sunday. We each ordered meatloaf, mashed potatoes with brown gravy and green beans. The meatloaf was bland and had too much filler with burnt ends. The potatoes had lumps and tasted like instant. The only seasoning in the green beans was onions and they were canned green beans and bland. In short, the meal was totally NOT worth the $10 lunch price. That combined with the hurry you out the door attitude of the servers made for an overall unpleasant meal. We left at 3:48 just in time for the servers to leave by their 4:00 pm deadline! No ambiance whatsoever here either as server was busily pushing around industrial mop and bucket whilst we were eating. Needless to say this is our first and most definitely LAST visit here. read more

Me and my dad decided to go here for lunch around 1 and we're seated and ordered in the first 5 minutes, but it nearly took an hour to get our food. The people/servers were nice and it was a decent atmosphere but the wait time to get our food will highly discourage me from going here in the future. This is an unassuming hole-in-the-wall diner in a strip mall. It's usually safe to assume a place will have great food if there is a wait for a table after 1:00 on a Tuesday afternoon, and this place did not disappoint. In our party, we ordered hamburgers, a full pancake breakfast, a chicken wrap, and fried chicken livers. The chicken livers came to the table looking like they might be overcooked like so many places do them, but one bite and I knew they were absolute perfection! The chicken livers themselves were so tender and the seasoning in the breading was delicious. If you are near Greenwood or Whiteland and love fried chicken livers, but are tired of other places cooking them until they are dry as a bone, this is the place to go! read more

Been eating here off and on for 5 or 6 years now. Never had a bad meal. Great service, we love the carry out because the full menu is carry out. Tenderloins ar egood, roast beef is great, breaded chicken fingers are excellent. Good to see a few low carb options too. Bunless Swiss burger is a family favorite. read more

Food was great. The pork chops are actually hand breaded. Along with the chicken. It was all really surprisingly good for the price. The service was great. The waitress was actually taking time out of her dinner to accommodate my girlfriend and I with drink refills (didn't even ask or bother her actually) very friendly (and welcoming) place both breakfast and dinner are really tasty from here. I stopped in mid-morning, missing the morning breakfast rush and grabbed a seat in the dining room. The waitress/hostess was pleasant and brought a menu and took my beverage order promptly. Since it was my first time here, I wanted a little more time to look over the menu. She did a great job of watching to see if I was ready. Since it was nearing lunch time, I decided to forego a traditional breakfast option and went with the Southwestern Skillet. It was served in a mini skillet filled with onion, bell peppers, avocado, sausage (they were out of chorizo) and cheese. They also threw in some red potato quarters. The meal came with 2 eggs on top (over easy for me) and 2 biscuits and gravy on the side. Quite a meal! The seasoning was minimal, but each table has salt and pepper shakers so I was able to adjust the seasoning to my taste. All the veggies were cooked thoroughly and the sausage had a nice browning for full flavor. The only negative was the eggs were just a little over cooked, most likely from sitting on top of the hot skillet of food. The biscuits were country style and were very light, much lighter than I expected. The gravy was served on the side so I could add as much (or little) as I wanted. Nice flavor all around. Plenty of parking outside and inside, the place was clean and tastefully decorated. There's a colorful mural of an Indiana sunset by the door. COMFORT FOOD COMA!!!! We stopped here quite randomly after finding the our other choice closed early for the day. Lucky for us!!! We found a new favorite spot. We asked the waitress for best menu recommendations and she did not fail us. Hubby had a reasonably well priced Rib Eye Steak & Shrimp Dinner with THREE sides. I had the Meatloaf with Perfectly steamed Broccoli, dreamy mashed potatoes, and creamy coleslaw. We indulged in the Homemade Strawberry Shortcake to finish off a wonderful meal. Came in on a Wednesday night around 7:30 and immediately found a seat. This is the third or fourth time my wife and I have visited. The food has generally been very good so my wife took a chance on the chicken fried steak. She didn't like it because it felt mushy.but she enjoyed the potatoes and corn sides. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo and really liked it. It was buttery and creamy and filling. The portion was huge. Our server was friendly but had to take care of a table of 9 or 10, but still managed to keep my drink filled. Overall, I'd recommend this place but would suggest staying away from the chicken fried steak read more

As this is a local establishment it is such wonderful comfort food! We have been to friends pretty often and absolutely love the staff, the food, and the breakfast! I would highly advise their friends meatloaf, it is one of the best tasting meatloafs I've had! Plus the mashed potatoes and Mac are wonderful. The prices are great here. I would say I wish there was a better variety on their seafood platter, but it is another great meal they have. We also have had their strawberry shortcake. This was one of the best breakfasts I ever ate. We were a party of four. Every item came out perfectly cooked and proper temperature. I had a large omelette with sausage gravy over it. This day, this item beat out some of the best omelettes I had before. A super friendly family place. It is located in a strip mall, but don't let that stop you. Food makes it all worthwhile. Covid safe precautions. Parking can be tough because it is a busy diner and other businesses share the parking lot spots. Everyone in our group loved everything.
