We like them a lot "people" wise. Have bought several cars through them over the years and service have always been excellent!!! Great selection of used (and new of course) cars, and they update their inventory quite often. Price wise, they are also very competitive. Their idea is to set the price of their cars as low as possible while handling the tricky part of earning a profit after all is said and done and all expenses paid. The "only" thing bad about them I can think of top of my head is they deal with an aftermarket warranty company called GWC Warranty and they are an awful company to deal with. Couple years ago one of the vehicles we bought there had a problem within 1-2 weeks. We dropped it off at a repair facility and we find out that he warranty won't cover because the car has not been properly maintained?? Approached Friendship Hyundai to see if there's anything they can do considering that any maintenance done to honor warranty service should be in the books by them and yet there was nothing I can do. Spent $3000 on the extended warranty and other problems have surfaced that I had to personally deal with were not covered because there is no proof of maintenance. Again, at this point our new to us car was only fresh off the dealership lot not even 2 weeks. Soooo!! If you buy a car here (which I still whole heartedly recommend), do not opt out in an extended warranty through GWC warranty. They are a shady company and I am shocked that this dealership does business with them. read more

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS DEALERSHIP. We went to purchase a car, dealt with Kevin Utsman as a salesperson. Found the car we wanted and started negotiations. Of course we went back and forth until the manager Cody came in. My husband and Cody went back and forth, came up with an amount we agreeded on, and shook hands. A few minutes later, papers were printed and put in front of us to sign, never going over figures with us. We'll, those figures changed by $3000! Went into the dealership to buy a car. 2025 Tucson was told the price was $31,500 by the salesman Andy but when the office guy got involved the price change. It went back to sticker price a year old and $3000 from Hyundai.He didn't offer to go outside. Told us to go take a picture of the number in the window and he would give us the keys. This is the worst car dealership I have ever dealt with in my entire life. And that's saying something because my brother in law works there. I bought a Chevy trail boss from them, they told me there was nothing at all wrong with the truck and never disclosed to me there was a huge hole in the bottom panel of the truck. I called them and they were trying to accuse me of hitting something in the 12 hours that I had the truck in my possession. I finally got them to agree to put me in a different truck. Well I bought a more expensive truck because they didn't have any in my price range. I've had this truck for approximately 24 hours and when I went to the store today with my wife and 8 month old, I came out after I finished shopping, got in the truck and it wouldn't start. Still won't start. I finally got the truck to start after jumping it off and took it straight to a mechanic. They tested the battery, starter, and alternator, and they said everything came back fine. (Which means there's something really wrong with it). To my surprise(not) they did find something else though, the rear differential's are leaking badly and it's going to cost thousands to fix. So if you're reading this, take my word for it and do not buy any cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, ANYTHING from this store. When I called the dealership to tell them about the problems, they told me that there is nothing they can do and that I will not be getting into a different truck and I will not be getting my trade in back. They overcharge you for labor while parts cost at a 1/3 of the price. Not only that, they quote you a price then at checkout they up charge you for misc. charges that shouldn't be there. I also got quoted a repair then when I get there they want to charge me 4x what they quoted. They used to have 3 levels to oil changes and no one that's more expensive than any oil changing place around. Their diagnosis fee used to be $90 now $182 per area. STAY AWAY!! Purchased a used 2022 Genesis in April 2023. Tried to sneak in their "free lifetime" warranty at the end of the sale at $4,498. Caught that, but bought the warranty anyway after specifically asking the question about being serviced / repaired locally instead of having to travel to the nearest Genesis dealership in Knoxville. Developed a couple of small issues, made an appointment, took the day off & was refused service when I arrived for my appointment. I was totally & purposely mislead regarding the terms of the warranty. As it turns out, the extended warranty starts at the end of the manufacturer's warranty. The salesman strait up lied (repeatedly) to sell me a useless warranty (Genesis already has a 10 year 100,000 mile manufacturer's warranty). Friendship's lifetime warranty is also not lifetime, it is also 10 years or 100,000 miles. That was NEVER mentioned. I Discovered that myself (it's all very neatly hidden away in the fine print & still pretty vague in some areas). I was told the words several times "lifetime warranty". Got totally ripped off on the warranty, not to mention the ridiculous $700 doc fee. I knew I should have walked away when they tried to trick me into buying the warranty. Dirty & dishonest tactics cannot be tolerated. None of the Friendship family of dealerships will ever sell me or anyone I know another vehicle. read more

Had timing belt changed cost $700.00 they didn't change timing belt tensioner which you can ask any shop that it should be replaced at the same time as belt change. Tensioner went bad less than 18,000 miles later. Now they want to charge another 500 just to look at it. Please if you need to have your Hyundai or any car serviced or repaired, Do not use this Shop!! I highly recommend using Superior Auto in Piney Flats, TN or H-Tek in Gray, TN. Both owners are HONEST, RELIABLE and Guarantee their work at a Better price. Driving up from Knoxville, 1.5 hours, to look at a 2008 Santa Fe. Was told by the salesman that it was there and would be ready when I arrived. Wouldn't have made the trek if told otherwise. Told him I would be there around 1:30PM, arrived at 1:45PM. When we arrived I was told someone was driving it, but I was also told I would have first right of refusal. Sat around for a bit to find out it would be a while because the other person had taken it to a mechanic. Told them I would go to some other dealers then be back. Before leaving I confirmed what I had been told earlier when I arrived that I would have first right of refusal. Now the tone had changed and they said if the other person wanted to buy it they would be able to. In the end the other person bought it. I received an apology and an excuse about a "miscommunication". Was given a free tank of gas, really 3/4 of a tank. It too almost a 1/2 to make the trek up and back so I gained 1/4 tank of gas for a wasted afternoon of my time, my wife road with me to drive it back and wasted her afternoon and lost a1/2 a day of wages. Excuses and a quarter tank of gas don't make up for our time and lost wages. Luckely I was in a rental so there is no unnecessary wear on my vehicle. This dealership doesn't care about people, just making a sale. If they were honest with me before I came up I wouldn't have made the trek. A 1/4 of a tank of gas isn't a reimbursement for this bullshit they put me thru. I will paste the texts below. brought my hyundai in for a known problem to get a quote for a repair. they told me it would be diagnosed in 30 minutes. 4 hours later I call them and they quoted me a outrageous price. about 4 times the going rate in town. I come back and find a diagnostic bill of $192 and when I asked why they practically shook their heads and helped me no further. I pushed my questioning to find out why I was charged for a known problem that I wanted a quote with and they didnt even respond. Buying a new car is never fun or easy, Salesman Jordan made our experience both! Jordan was personable and knowledgeable, we purchased a brand new 2019 within an hour. The reason for the one star rating- DO NOT take your vehicle to the service department. My appointment was scheduled for 1pm (oil change and tire rotation) at 6pm we had to call to follow up on the status of the car. When we returned to pick the vehicle up, the service employee tried to explain "these things take awhile" never in my 11years of driving have I had an oil change take 5 hours AND have to call ourselves. James asked me specifically on 12/28/2017, the night I traded in my 2 cars, which plate from the 2 used cars I traded in, I wanted to transfer to my newer car. I told him the plate from the '09 Accent. Instead of doing that, I was billed for a brand new plate from the state of TN and it took several phone calls and a few trips to FHJC to get this taken care of and get my money refunded. With 1 week left on my temporary tag, I had to go up there or risk driving an unregistered vehicle and being arrested. Such professionalism. FHJC has me blocked from their facebook page because I put a negative review there after some idiot from there called me during noon hour one day to try to solicit car sales. I found Friendship Hyundai 6/17/19 through Autotrader and my parameters for my next car. I received a response back from the dealer within an hour or so on my inquiry. The sales rep who worked with me from the start to finish was Jeff Troxwell. I told Jeff everything I wanted in a car I.E. the model, trim level, no package add ons, and the color. Not once did Jeff try to convince me to get a different model, package level, or color that I didn't want. Jeff made him accessible to all my questions (I had plenty) through calls or texts. Jeff made the whole process from the initial point of contact to the moment we shook hands and said goodbye as I drove off in new car an incredible experience. He explained each step of the process of the purchase in a down to earth language for me. He was thorough in showing me all the features of my new car inside and out. Scottie was a blast to work with just like Jeff. While waiting for my turn to go meet with Scottie he actually called Hyundai unbeknownst to me to get me a lower interest rate and he was successful. I keep getting "the tags will be there tomorrow". Tomorrow has come and gone and still no tags. The worst part besides not being able to drive my new car is that not one person has apologized or asked what can they do to help or make it up to me.
