I just leased a new Nissan but not from Johnson City Nissan. I pulled in the dealership a couple of weeks ago and a sales man walked up and stood outside my car. I finished the call I was on and he proceeded to stand there. as I opened to door, I let him know I would not be purchasing from him since he didn't even let me get out of my car before pouncing. He introduced himself as Armondo and said "but we are supposed to" and I told him well it didn't work with me so walked off. I looked through the cars when i was approached by another salesman who introduced himself as Tim. I told him I was looking for a 2025 Pathfinder then I said I was looking to lease. He actually said "people around here don't lease, we buy cars". I told him that I knew myself well enough and I trade cars every few years so leasing works better for me. He just said "ok" as he laughed. Needless to say I left and got a completely different experience at Gateway Nissan, which they happily leased a vehicle to me and didn't make me feel like a number on a quota board. If you like hard sales, go for it. But if you want a positive experience, go elsewhere. read more

I would like to address a matter with the sales manager Wes Mckeehan. I swapped correspondence with him over a Nissan Frontier. I told him I wanted a King cab S 4x4 then proceeded to try and push a four door SV. After several texts I got a better deal from another dealership told him the deal and he would not leave me alone. I told him to stop corresponding and he continued even by showing childish memes. Which I absolutely don't appreciate and as a consumer feel disrespected. After I told him to stop texting he called me. I told him if this how you all do business I'll not deal with your dealership which he kept talking after I told him to leave me alone which he had no intention of doing. He finally told me to hang up and to block him if I wanted him to leave me alone. I am relaying this experience for buyer beware. Watch for the high pressure sales and don't expect them to listen to what you want. One of the most unprofessional people I have dealt with in buying a car. We were looking at the Nissan Rogue's and a sales associate came to help .(which is normal) however he wouldn't give my husband a chance to finish his sentence about buying a rogue and was already pushing other cars. They do not have prices on cars just monthly payments, so you "think" your getting a good deal. He took off into the building to get the manager and when he came back to speak to us. Took advantage of a young girl. Refused to honor her warranty over 275.00. Said was too busy to call for warranty info, even tho proper paperwork with contact number was provided. Service dept and mechanics lied repeatedly. Kept car over a week without notifying that the repairs were finished. Tried to add a new battery that was not needed, the car had a brand new one. Asked to leave the store by D. Fields (Sales Manager) when I told them that it was deceptive advertising on the mailing they sent. He took away the mail promotion sent to me with my name, would not let me take a picture of it and covered his name tag stating I could not take a picture of his name tag, and that I had to leave the store. The little Moneyopoly card states on one side: "Pull open tabs. If you match 3 in a row, on any 1 of the 3 games you win! Then on the other side it says "To play, simply lift tabs on card. If you match 3 symbols in a row. YOU WIN!" When I pulled the tab I had 3 red houses, next to which it says "Win $1,000 Cash." Then 'WINNERS, CALL 423-460-9299" to enter a confirmation code (you call and no-one answers.) I called the Agency, and spoke with a women and I explained that I had three red house and supposedly winning $1,000 in cash. Is that true? and do I need to bring anything? She said I just need to come in get my prize. They took my information, asked me to look at some cars. Which I did, told the salesman that was polite that we were not interested at this moment, but would like our prize. That is where Dylan Field arrived and after expressing my dislike of the dishonest practice, and I tried to take a picture of it, as he had my copy, he took it away, saying I could not take a picture of it. I tried to take a picture of his name badge and he covered it with his hand, told me i could not take a picture of it and that I needed to leave the story, which he repeated twice. I recently bought an SUV from this outfit. They claim a certain amount off (huge discounts - without the fine print) and then, once you're in there for hours (entrapment marketing technique) and finally move into finance, they then state "Oh, you don't qualify for loyalty or military discounts or this or that" after being told the final out the door price was a certain $$ figure that included those discounts. I asked them what I needed to do to be considered "loyal" as I was trading in ANOTHER NISSAN and their reply was simply, "I don't know, your name didn't come up in the system." At least they said it with a smile and that sales twinkle in their eye! Ha! It's just a shady way to operate and pretty sad because some of the lower level sales folks actually seemed really genuine and nice. In the end, it's not really that big a of a deal to me but I'm only writing because others just need to be prepared and when you make a big purchase like a brand new Armada Platinum, you want to walk away feeling great. The SUV is super nice but the tactics just felt a little dingy. Unfortunately, while they managed to squeeze a few thousand outta me, Nissan lost a customer. I've purchased a Rogue from this dealership in 2015 and often returned for service work so my last experience was a shock. On 7/9/2022 I stopped at the dealership to inquire about Titan trucks and was instantly swooped inside and held there for hours. The high-pressure sales tactics never ended. The end result was an unwanted hard inquiry on my credit report and a wasted Saturday where I was constantly steered to buy a vehicle I neither wanted nor could afford. Not only will I avoid this dealership, but I will also stay away from all Nissan products and other staffed sales. If you receive a letter from these guys saying they'll give you up to $8,000 above trade in, don't waste your time. I got a letter, I called ahead because it's about a 30 minute drive from me and I spoke with Bailey. He seemed super friendly and I asked if there was a catch, so I have to get a car from here, he said, nope, no catch, we're just desperate for cars with a specific chip in the key fob since the manufacturer stopped production on them. I asked what my trade in value was and he had me text a code to this number, so I did, my trade in came back at $20,000. So I was expecting at the very least for them to offer me that. Nope, these cheap skates actually thought I'd be stupid enough to take $14,000, I thought it was a joke. I'm sorry but I'm not desperate. So I told Malissa that I wasn't interested and the offer was too low, she then has her manager (he didn't introduce himself so not sure of his name) come and talk to us, he asked what we were hoping to get, I said, at least the amount we were promised on the phone, he laughed and said, that's only if you get a car from us, he acted as though I was the insane one when I told him how much I expected. AVOID DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE FOR ANY SERVICE OR GIVE THIS HORRIBLE DEALERSHIP YOUR BUSINESS!! THEY DONT EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR! I read the bad reviews and still decided to go here to make my own judgment and boy were the reviews correct. The back henge that holds my rear window on broke so I purchased the part from them (79 bucks) and they were going to repair it (75 bucks). When I took it in they then informed me that the piece they had to remove may break because it is plastic and the cost for that piece, plus paint, plus labor would be 550 on top of the already 154 I was paying!!! I was astonished, pretty much they are saying this expensive infinity that costs as much as a house is made of plastic cheap material that we don't stand by and we may break it but you have to pay for it!! This makes no sense! I then spoke with the service manager asking if he could at least show some mercy and cut me a break, maybe not charge me for labor on this piece that they would of broken, or give it to me at cost or a discount. He went on to say, I don't work for Nissan and unfortunately this was just how it is they were there to make money. WOW LOL like he didn't budge or show any empathy or care at all. Horrible customer service from him and just a nasty man! I feel bad for others working there as they were friendly and just trying to do their job. Johnson City Nissan is a very dirty and shady company and I will not stop until I get justice! My mother in-law has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and it has been a very rough road to discovery for her and our family. Throughout this process she has been advised NOT to drive by all 3 doctors due to failing memory tests across the board 3 separate times. Her primary care dr submitted the suspension of her drivers license request to the Nashville Driver Improvement office and we had to take her car from her and since then she has been contacting several dealerships in our areas requesting to be picked up so that she could purchase a vehicle. She has successfully made it to 5 separate dealerships in which 4 of those were very helpful and understanding to the situation. They all assisted us with making sure that she did not purchase a vehicle except for 1. Johnson City NISSAN was advised as soon as we found out she was there of her current condition with Alzheimer's. My father in-law spoke with Ed Jones and he assured him they would take care of it and return her home as they had picked her up and taken her to the dealership. An hour after we spoke with the dealership, they had not returned home so we called the dealership back and they advised she had left in a vehicle that she had purchase. I have given you a brief overview of the situation to explain how a dealership knowingly took advantage of a vulnerable situation for financial pocket. They knew she was not in the right state of mind to make a financial decision prior to their transaction with her and still went through with the deal. They then allowed an individual who had gotten lost a number of times and does not have any reactive driving abilities to drive out onto the road without any care. After she was home safe, we called the dealership and stated that they could neither confirm nor deny if the person we were speaking of had even been at the dealership due to "HIPPA" regulations in which they clearly do not abide by (they are not a medical establishment) and had already spoken with us concerning her being there earlier. After talking my way up the chain of command to the GM, Fonda Trice, he advised that we needed to provide medical documentation from her doctor stating she was not capable of making business transactions and they would take the car back. I did exactly that and he then they stated that the letter from her doctor was not enough and since she had not been declared medically incompetent that he would not take the car back. I asked the GM specifically "why would you all have proceeded knowing what we told you" he said "says who" as if the conversation prior to the selling of the car had not been had. This is wrong and the dealership needs to know that they can't just take advantage of an elderly person in a process such as this and get away with it. There are so many more details to this story that I have not included but my mother in-law was admitted to Sycamore Shoals in Elizabethton that very night which had been in the process for a couple of days. I have been in communication with corporate NISSAN and the car in which was purchased was sitting on the dealership lot awaiting repossession if they did not work through this with us. We have no clue who it was financed through, how much the car was or even what her payment would be. Having a loved one who is going through Alzheimer's is awful process and draining on the family enough to have to add a situation like this on top of everything not to mention the current situation with the coronavirus. They knew what they were doing when they took advantage of and elderly individual with memory problems and knowing she didn't fully understand the logistics of what exactly she was signing. This was wrong and our community deserves to know how this establishment transacts with people and they deserve to be publicity slayed of their actions. We need your help to get it out there. I am contacting a lawyer and the Tennessee Alzheimer's association in attempts to get some help as well as sending this to all local news channels trying to get our story out there. We returned the car to their lot the very next day after it was purchased but today they parked it in my father in-laws driveway with a note on it that they returned it to save us a $75 daily storage fees. They now are refusing to speak with us and asking their receptionist to take a message but not returning our calls. THIS IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS and they are positive they will get away with this! The 2 individuals on this post are Fonda Trice and Ed Jones ... they are very shady and dishonest people who need to learn they can not get away with this! Buyer Beware! I went to Johnson City Nissan after visiting 2 other car dealerships and looking at vehicles. I was tired and had not checked the current pricing on the internet for the Rogue I purchased. The dealership used all kinds of sales tactics --"hurry, the car will be gone by tomorrow!". "We'll give you what you want for your trade in" And they did on the paper, but failed to mention that the vehicle was priced $20,000 higher than new car prices. In reality, they offered nothing for the trade and still charged me more than a new vehicle for the used vehicle I bought. I realized my error and since the transaction was done on a weekend, and a holiday weekend at that, I went back to the dealership and negotiated a new deal. We removed the trade-in and negotiated for the purchase of the car only. I paid a high price for the used car, but not near as much as the original deal. I'm grateful that JC Nissan renegotiated the deal. I thank God for that! I was told during the second negotiation that a dealership can charge anything they want for a used car. They said that dealer fraud laws only apply to new cars. If the buyer agrees to the price, they can charge anything for a used car - more or less than the value of the vehicle. As I look at their website, they have no pricing listed for used cars. "See the dealer for the best deal!" The dealership's tagline is "We'll save your thou-sands!" In my opinion, that is not a true statement. read more

They advertise up to $8,000 over Kelly Blue Book, ha! I took in a 2017 Rogue pretty well loaded with 54,000 miles, I was offered $10,000. What a joke, then they expected me to add the $7,400 payoff to the loan for the new car, I was netting $2,600 for my car. Blue Book with all this car had was close to $20,000. I showed them they were way off and they said take it somewhere else. I sold it to Carmax that day for $21,000. I went back and they then added $7,000 worth of dealer fluff and crap to the price of the car. They add $4,300 in marketing fees, $500 for nitrogen the factory put in the tires, $500 for Pre delivery prep (wash), $895 doc fees, and an extra $1,200 over what the tag office charges to register it. The whole time Dylan, young enough to be my grandson, kept trying to get me to give him a hug! What a joke they are. I bought the exact car, same color and options, that week for $8,000 less than their best price. They ran my credit repeatedly, I only authorized them to give it to Nissan. My score dropped 30 points because of them. It's a good thing I went in with a 887 because 4 days later at another dealership it was now 857. Avoid at all cost! They lie. They mark up sales thousands of dollars with fake fees to make extra money off of the gullible people who purchase a car from them. They only use "Fair" KBB rating to calculate trade in price and use the bottom dollar. I asked to not have my credit checked untill after I seen prices of cars and they refused to show me cars till credit check. They checked my credit anyway even though I told them not to then hit my credit 15 time with 15 different banks dropping my score almost 40 points. They then came back and tried to sell me a Rouge sport which I didn't want and said that's the only car they had deals on. Looked at the price they had marked it up $6000 from the window price.and gave me the lowest price possible for a clean excellent trade in. Worst new car dealership I have ever dealt with.
