Every Thursday night at 8pm they have a show that is approximately 45-50 minutes in length. Every month it changes and it seems to be the same shows every year. It is open to the public but you have to call CPS to make a reservation and I would suggest calling a couple of weeks in advance (the shows fill up fast). Doors open at 7:30pm and space is limited. So basically don't be surprised when you have to squeeze in somewhere when you show up at 7:45. They even have a telescope set up for after the shows if weather permits/is a clear sky. Children are welcome but they have to be quiet. This is a small room and tight quarters so if a child is being disruptive they will be asked to leave (I've seen it happen) because it is distracting to viewers and the presenter! Now on to the man who narrates and puts on the show! His name is Dr. Robert Hitt. He has been at the planetarium for years he says and it shows. He is so knowledgeable and loves what he does. He is able to project his voice without yelling or using a microphone. His voice is very soothing too so when you're looking up at the constellations you will feel so at peace! I would absolutely recommend for you to check out the Chesapeake Planetarium if you're available Thursday nights! I'm trying to make it a monthly thing for me.

There is a little walkway with some space/planet related items with short blurbs about each. I enjoyed the show and especially our "tour guide" and my students enjoyed it too, especially the stories and constellations. The only downside is that this place is a little outdated. The seats are comfy, but old and the planetarium itself seems old. Though, it still is a good show! There is a big dome screen for the night sky that requires you to lean back and look up.

Did I mention the church shuttles you to the front entrance and give you free complimentary bottles of water for your drive home. Since I hadn't been to a carnival in a while, I was surprised to see that the tickets were stored digitally on a card that they give to you. I actually loved the convenience of not having tickets all over the place lol. We rode about two rides which were a lot of fun. The ride operator simply scanned the card for our tickets and that was it! Gone are the days of having to count out the tickets for the rides lol. We then decided to grab something to eat. I remember carnival food being delicious and worth every penny but we ordered a cheese burger, cheesesteak, sausage and peppers and fries and the burger was extremely small, the cheesesteak was finished in 3 bites and the sausage was the size of a hot dog. The food was disappointing for how much we paid. The funnel cake and fried Oreos were great though. The best part of the carnival was definitely the delicious Turkey leg that we all enjoyed. Since my daughter isn't a big fan of fireworks, we decided to leave before they started but overall, it was a fun family outing. Side note: To avoid paying the $10 parking fee, we parked at a nearby school but we walked close to a mile to get to the carnival so definitely where comfortable shoes if you plan on taking that route next year. :)

So, I was hopeful that the WXYZ lounge and bar in Chesapeake would be similar and provide a great atmosphere to get together for a fun, chill hangout with our friends. We were not disappointed. There was ample seating and a large table where we were able to share a meal and play board games. The lounge has games in the lobby area, which we weren't expecting, but was nice to see. We had brought our own games. My friend ordered a mocktail and enjoyed it. The four of us ordered chicken buffalo dip and fish and chips to share. I couldn't eat the chicken buffalo dip because I have a dairy allergy, but everyone said it was good. I did really enjoy the fish and chips. The fries were hot, thick, and well seasoned. The cod was very tasty as well, the skin was perfectly crispy but the meat was tender inside. While we didn't take pictures of the menu this time, I took a look at the menu online and there are some options listed on the website that were not printed on the physical menus we saw, but for what was the same the prices matched. The fish and chips isn't on the website but was on the physical menu and was affordable (two pieces or cod and ample fries). Our server (also the bartender) was nice and provided good service. The hours that they're open make it a great hangout spot for Friday nights and weekends. The restrooms are clean. The noise level was moderate and fine. We definitely recommend for hanging out with friends and will be coming back in the future.

As soon as you walk in, you will see several shelving units of many ceramic projects of all different themes and sizes on the left, with tables in the middle and right side and cash out desk in the back corner. If you walk down the passage a little bit, it'll lead you to the paint area. I didn't walk all the way back, but I am assuming that leads to the party rooms as several people were led back there during our visit. The kids picked their projects and then one of their staff members, led them to the paint bar and explained the different kinds of paints and gave them some tips on how to use the paint and tools. Things to note: - You pay a studio fee plus the cost of the item (most things have price tags on the bottom of the item) - they claim to be the only open paint bar in the area. They let you use as much paint as you want, so be mindful and don't be wasteful - they have some options for drinks and snacks, although very limited, but I guess this can come in handy if you end up being there for awhile and get carried away with painting (drinks and snacks were very inexpensive) - you must go back at a later date to pick up the projects, so they can fire them up and glaze them. - they also have non-ceramic items for you to paint like canvas and wood The turnaround was very quick! Not sure if it was a slower time or if it's because we didn't have that many people in our party, but the items were ready in just a few days! I was so surprised when they called. Underpromise and overdeliver is always a smart business practice. Great place to pass the time and "make" something of your own. Stay safe, Friends!

My husband and I love a dinner-and-a-movie date night, so having everything in one place is perfect for us. The reclining chairs are super comfortable, especially once you've eaten and can just settle back and relax during the movie. The menu is pretty basic, but that's expected for a movie theater, and it still has some solid options. Some of my favorites are the coconut shrimp and the hot honey pizza. Overall, this is my go-to spot for seeing a movie. Always an easy, enjoyable experience, and I'll definitely be back again soon.

The seats and theaters are clean, everything felt very new. Our waiter (I believe his name is Evan) was so nice, quick, and helpful! We were in row 3, which was a little bit too close to the screen for our taste, however the seats recline so your view is not obstructed. We didn't mind row 3, but next time we will go further back. The food and tickets were decently priced, we were very happy with that. The food quality was a little bit better than regular concession food. Our food was lukewarm, but very large portions. They have all the condiments and utensils right there for you! Very nice place, we will be back!
