Clodoveu (Claude) did my sister's hair a few weeks prior to mine and she loved it. She has dark brown, curly hair and he added partial highlights to her hair, particularly in the front to make her eyes pop. I came in last minute and he squeezed me into his schedule. He was very attentive to my needs and was honest about how blonde I could go for my partial highlights. I was nervous, but needless to say, I love the way my hair came out. He did exactly what I asked for and added a special touch. He also gave me helpful suggestions about taking care of my hair because it is thin and shorter. I used to get my haircut in San Francisco, but when my stylist moved away, I looked for someone closer to my home. I called & made appt. for a root cover @ $80.00, & mentioned the extra $20 off for new customers. As we were there the stylist said , Oh I can do this a little and that a LITTLE. Well the little COST in total of $195.00. There was no discloser of the extra charges that was to happen. Also the Stylist ask over SIX time can I blow dry your hair. Well a 4 min blow dry cost $45.00. CRAZY Ha. We said no but she keep on asking. In all my wife was a blond and the color was not match it turned out darker. This PLASE is VERY Very BAD. PLEASE everyone boycott this Salon. They are deceptive, dishonest, and I scared they use inferior products as they can not be trusted. I went here in desperate need of a haircut. I'm always in desperate need of a haircut. Because of this, I'm typically uncomfortable when I go to salons. I walk in looking like a slightly less attractive Sebastian Bach and it just feels like everyone knows I only cut my hair three times per year. But I love Fringe. I went there because my usual place couldn't be bothered to answer their phone the six times I called (hello Fatal Attraction) and Fringe was only a few yards away so I called them. Someone politely answered the phone, thanked me for calling and was able to accommodate me within 20 minutes. Already off to a good start. Mariel was my stylist and she was wonderful. She helped me figure out what I should do and ended up giving me a fabulous cut. Bonus - she watches Teen Mom (sorry for outing you, Mariel) so we were able to talk about that. I absolutely loved my hair - I was beaming. Typically, I'm pretty content with my haircuts but HATE the way it's styled the day of. I always get stylists who want to add a bunch of product and flip out my layers so I look like The Liberty Bell when I walk out. Mariel took the time to blow-dry/style my hair but made it sleek and straight. It's the first time I haven't immediately put my hair up in a ponytail the moment I leave. For over three years I dyed my hair jet black over and over again, and had 22 inch hair extensions. This can cause a HUGE problem when it comes to trying to change your hair style. I read the reviews about Fringe just on a whim, and decided to give it a try. I can not express how lucky I was to land in the talented hands on Marial (sorry if I spelled this wrong!). She spent nearly 6 hours with me, cutting, stripping, highlighting, washing, washing, washing, cutting, coloring and more... She kept me completely entertained the entire time and I walked away feeling like a million dollars. I recently went back for a second visit and basically repeated the same amazing experience once again. Marial's cut had grown out so nicely that I didn't even need a trim. We worked on getting a bit more of the black out and she put in a new shade of highlights. It just keeps getting better! I would recommend this place to anyone in the Bay Area. If you don't live down here near Burlingame believe me it's worth the drive. There is plenty of parking here and the prices are very reasonable for the quality of work these ladies do. This salon is a little gem in the downtown Burlingame area. I live in the South Bay and I drive 40 mins. each way to get my hair did. I have been going to Jenny Adams for over 12 years and I am extremely happy, I wouldn't think of going to anyone else. You know when you find that special stylist who just knows your hair? She is always willing to be a little experimental with color or highlights which I love. She is also sensitive to my personal taste and creates a style that I absolutely love. My favorite hairstylist of all time is at fringe now. Carolyn is fantastic at color. She knows I get bored quickly with my hair and has done some amazing things. She's given me peek-a-boo highlights, made me a red(ish) head, and just last week gave me blonde summer highlights that I LOVE. I could not stop looking at myself in the mirror for several days. I work at an office that is predominantly men and even the guys noticed my hair. One said I "looked like sunshine and happiness." Carolyn is really good at customer service and won't let you leave until she knows you are happy. The salon is cute. The staff is friendly. They all recognize me when I go in and say hi. I have an A-line bob with bangs and while Rana was cutting my hair she took the time to explain why my hair does the things it does and how she will cut my hair to account for the waves and cowlicks to ensure a perfect A-line. Most stylists just give me a blunt cut with layers but Clodoveu understood that my hair was coarse and wavy and he took extra care to cut it in a way to maximize the volume and natural wave of my hair.
