Y'all. This is my second day in a row here. The wings in particular are life changing. Esp the Nashville hot and Alabama white. I took a bite, died, went to heaven and came back after being saved by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I'm serious. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is coming here on a first date. There is no way you can eat this incredible food not like an animal. My nails and face are covered w this sauce. In the picture posted, my tongue marks are on the plate after licking it down. Frog and Hen has been in my rotation about once every two weeks for a while, now. Our first few lunches were served by Caitlyn who is wonderful every time. My husband and I came in today for lunch and we had such an enjoyable experience. We were seated outside and received wonderful service from Lukas. Our food was great- everything hot and fresh. The chicken and waffles were delicious. The chicken is served as strips, however I prefer strips. It's makes eating chicken and waffles easier. The breading on the chicken seems thick, but was surprisingly crispy and flaky. The honey butter was delicious on the waffles. The servers are very friendly. This was our first visit to Frog and Hen so we were excited to try it out. We were seated right away but our server took forever to get to us. Once we ordered we waited 30 minutes to get our drinks and we had to flag her down and ask for our drinks which she confessed she'd forgotten to put in the computer. We waited an additional 10-15 minutes to get our food. The food was good but our server needs to consider that this might not be the job for her. I'm not sure if we will ever come again but if we do I'll make sure we have a different server for sure. read more

Went here for lunch with some friends and had a nice meal. I was greeted upon arrival with the news that because of staffing issues they couldn't honor the request we had made on our reservation to eat outside. Some of our party is still spooked by Covid. That was fine as it was a very warm day. I was first and was immediately seated and the server brought water. The level of service was consistently great. Not only was our server attentive but any server who walked by us checked on us. The rest of the party soon joined. Two in the party ordered the shrimp po boy, one ordered the Greek salad, one the sweet and spicy chicken sandwich and one got fish and chips. The sandwiches had a side of fries but they are the skinny shoestring type which Are less than ideal. They were just okay. The party was happy with their entrees were all declared delicious. I had a shrimp po boy. The shrimp were excellent but the ratio of shrimp to roll was off. I ended up putting all my shrimp on half of the bread to save on carbs. The Greek salad was beautiful and my friend gave me a bite which was scrumptious. They make a house oregano vinaigrette which was fantastic. We were too full for dessert. We did see signage advertising happy hour from 3-5 with half price snacks, 2$ beers and 5$specialty cocktails. We decided our next trip to Frog and Hen would be during happy hour! I'm from the south. Where fried chicken was born. Although this restaurant is in Augusta, that true southern fried chicken was just "okay". I also ordered the Mac and cheese and collard greens. Both were yummy, especially the mac. It was divine! Back to the chicken, I ordered dark meat but I got white meat instead, it was fine- I ate it anyway. Takes too long fry chicken for me to wait on any new pieces. Anyway, the restaurant offers 2 types of tossed in sauces, Nashville Hot and honey butter. The honey butter have the chicken a white color and you can't really taste honey or butter. The skin was really crispy and the meat was juicy, but still just blah. I guess I expected more...I might be being unfair. Lol. The cocktail "Queen Bee" was delicious and it was half off at happy hour! Woohoo! Hubster, a friend, and I stopped by Frog and Hen for a Saturday brunch and it was OH SO DELICIOUS! I don't know why I didn't stop by earlier. We arrived around 1230-1 o'clock and were seated immediately. The decor reminds me of modern farmhouse diner. Super cute and clean look. They even have their own "grocery" store where you can purchase some pantry items. We ordered the bacon cinnamon roll, chicken and waffles, grits bowl, and the fried chicken biscuit. They were all delicious. Bacon cinnamon roll - I'm a huge fan of sweet and savory and this was a good combination. The cinnamon rolls reminds me of a the ooey gooey cinnabons smeared with sweet cream cheese and candied bacon. I could eat 2 of these if 1/2 didn't make my stomach hurt. Chicken and waffles - the chicken was crispy and tender. The waffle was ok. It was slightly on the more savory/salty side for my taste. Grits bowl - I love me some grits and this was da bomb. I wish I ordered this as my main instead of the chicken and waffles. The grits were creamy and the kale was such an interesting flavor. Fried chicken biscuit - hubster had this item and really liked it. It was very flavorful and creamy. 10/10 would do it again and would brunch it up. read more

So, my girls and I came here for brunch. I must say it was a great experience. Our server was amazing. These here Cinnamon Rolls are absolutely delicious. I'll come back just for that and my cocktail. The only reason this didn't get 5 stars, is because the shrimp and grits were mediocre. Yes, I got the sauce on the side bc I wasn't sure. Modern spot just off the highway. Very clean and open atmosphere. Bartender Martha was so cute and knowledgeable and provided great service. Everything on the menu is delicious and they even have a little market area. Had an amazing brunch with a long time friend. Went in on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning and the wait to be seated was only about 15 minutes long. I want to say we got there about 9 or 9:30 am and ended up staying comfortably fully and satisfied until noon. The shrimp and grits were delicious and flavorful. The bacon "DUSTED" iced cinnamon roll was definitely not on my diet plan that day, but was worth every bite and consequentially every mile ran days after . The brunch adult beverage selection tempted me to try more than just one......which "don't mind if I do" and did ! It was an overall great experience. Delicious food prepared amazingly, served hot and in a timely manner and the service was top tier and very attentive. I recommend stopping by whenever in Augusta. read more

This is my wife's favorite restaurant. She loves the fried chicken with pimento cheese. I thoroughly enjoy the shrimp and cheese grits. Together we can eat for the same price as a trip to Chick-fil-A. The tables are widely spaced apart, which is nice for dinner conversation without having to talk over the people around us. read more

First time visiting this surprisingly good restaurant, their menu is ample and offers a variety of dishes for breakfast, brunch, and all day dining. Cristina, our server, was very attentive and gave us extremely good information that made it very easy to select what we wanted. The food was delicious, every single item was really good especially the roasted chicken with chimichurri, the grits were also awesome. The prices were very decent, a real good value for the money . The food is amazing, but the service is the best I've ever experienced in all my time traveling and the 7 cities I've lived in. They made us feel so welcome, we had amazing waitresses but everyone was great. They were so kind to my son, and seemed to find him fun and he was really comfortable there. I had a really bad experience the night before with another place, and this was a breath of fresh air. The food was the best I've had, the bread pudding is AMAZING, the chicken biscuit with the hot hollandaise... I could eat it for the rest of my life, and my husband loved the banana French toast. Been coming here regularly over last year and normally service and food are great. Recently came in to be seated and told by bar staff that the restaurant was only open for 6 more minutes while hostess told me they seat until 3 PM and would serve me food but when I went to sit down at bar the staff just ignored me so I left. The roast chicken tasted like rotisserie. It was okay. Nothing special at all. The collard greens were WAY too sweet. All I could taste was sugar. My grandmother put some sugar in her greens too, but here it was overpowering. It didn't feel like I was eating a veggie because I knew it couldn't be healthy. The decor of the restaurant is farmhouse. Think Chip and Joanna Gaines. It's cute, but again nothing special. I am not sure if I can blame the waitress they had her working outside and the furthest corner of the restaurant but there was only 2 tables filled when I walked in and one table filled when I left. Restaurant was less than half full inside but seemed fully staffed for a Tuesday based on the number of workers hanging out at the hostess station. Sat 25 mins until I could finally make a drink order, but tables seated after me got apps before an employee even made contact with me. I guess there are biscuits or hush puppies, I never saw those just noticed every table had baskets of food before they ordered their actual meal. My food was dropped off by a runner, so I wasn't able to order a second drink from the bar, actually debated walking up to the bar and getting one myself. Food was decent but the experience was just below ordering food from a fast food kiosk. I hope management figures out how to appropriately service customers with appropriate coverage. I had Gnocchi and it was so good! It was better than I expected. I did not add any meat (just vegetables like tomato sauce & mushrooms but you can add.) but it was still delicious. My husband had fish & chips. Fish was good but they were kind of small. Our server was great. Overall, it was great that all the food we had tasted freshly prepared, nothing from frozen. I need to give this place 5 stars because despite being "slow"(read on) they did everything right in order for us to not care that it took a while for our food. We were there on a holiday weekend, so naturally, they were SLAMMED. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who explained apologetically that it would be 15-20 minutes. We went to the bar, and the bartender was also very friendly even though we were taking up two seats and not ordering food as many people were. We did order some drinks and coffee and she was great and friendly. We were seated in 15 minutes as told and, within a few minutes, greeted by our server. He explained the specials and recommended a few items. When he brought our drinks he explained that the kitchen was backed up and that our meals may take longer than expected. Just communicating that is above and beyond the usual service in Augusta. He checked on us frequently and updated us while bringing our appetizer and refilling our drinks. Our food arrived and it was amazing and fresh. We will be back. We have no problems waiting for good service and good food. read more
