This place is amazing, I mean so amazing that even the toast is next level. I come to Gulf Blvd about twice a year, and there are two things that I truly look forward to: a trip out to Egmont Key and breakfasts at Frog Pond. I'm in town and today was going to be the day I finally got to taste a scrumdidliumpcious omlette dance on my taste buds again, but Yelp is saying they're permanently closed. Apple Maps? It says temporarily closed. Holy cow do you get a lot of food. If you leave hungry it is your own fault! When we walked in everything is decorated with frogs and water Lilly's. The gentleman greeted us and took us to a round table for the six of us (very spacious table) another man brought us all waters right away and asked if we wanted to drink anything else. The waitress came over to us and told us that she would give us a moment to look over the menu however informed us what some of the local favorites were as well as the special for that Saturday. I swear they gave you 5 pounds of fruit in that one photo below. I got the egg whites and personally I did not enjoy them. I felt as if, it was the egg beaters from the carton, but I could be completely mistaken. The home fries, bacon, sausage, and toast were phenomenal. After reading some of the reviews, I was really wanting to love the breakfast but I was disappointed. I love me some home fries BUT though they are made from scratch and not the frozen cubes, they were really lacking any crisp. Think more like scalloped potato slices that were warm and soft, not seasoned that fell flat. But I did like the bread and seemingly home made jam. Portion sizes are large, so it's a place for the hungry! Just lower your expectations, sorry. Our group had eggs Benedict, Bananas Foster Waffle with bananas and fosters syrup on top, Cinnamon Roll French Toast and an omelette that could fer a family of 3. Service was slow even though we came mid/late morning on Tuesday. Perhaps that's the beach time and what the regular crowd expects but it became annoying along with the manager, I assume, vacuuming the floors. Always love coming to this place when we visit FL. The food is always fresh and the service is always exceptional. We have never had a bad meal here. Krab benedict is one of our must have dishes. Highly recommend the Hangover omelette, Roast beef omelette and the Cinnamon roll French toast. The portion sizes a big enough that 2 people could easily share. First time here and now I wonder why I waited so long. My breakfast was absolutely delicious. It was one of the daily specials, Monte Cristo Benedict. When the meal came our it wasn't what I was expecting. It was over the top better. Ham, turkey and Swiss cheese over English muffins, topped with perfectly executed poached eggs and smothered with the best hollandaise sauce I've ever eaten. I chose grits for the side and they too were good. My friend had poached eggs, home fries (see in the picture) and toast. She too enjoyed her meal said that the home fries were delicious The setvice was spot on with plentiful coffee refills. We were pleasantly greeted upon entering and thanked when we left. As a local, I am really disappointed to write this review. I took my wife and my friend who is visiting from the UK to the Frog Pond this morning for breakfast. We ordered the Special, which comes with 2 x Eggs, Sausage, and Home Fries. We said to the server that we would love the Home Fries, only if they could be made crispy. (Can not stand soggy potatoes). He said that would be fine, and completed taking our order. Anyway, the breakfasts were brought out to us, and the Home Fries were pale and soggy, so we reminded the server that we wanted them extra crispy. He apologized and took the plates away, only to return them back to our table about 2 mins later, saying that the kitchen was making up a fresh batch of potatoes for us, but didn't want the other food to go cold, so please go ahead and eat that before the new potatoes came. This was fine. Anyway, about 5 minutes later, the server came back to our table with 1 x small plate of Home Fries and plonked them on the table stating, and I quote, "This is all the kitchen are going to do, because they are too busy. They will not make any more crispy home fries for you". To say I was left speechless by this statement, and level of service is an understatement. I was livid, but my wife asked me to please not escalate this as it is mothers day. We have lived in Redington Beach for 7 years, and have regularly visited the Frog Pond for the entirety of this time, but now I feel angry and hurt at this level of service. Especially, in front of a friend who has come over from the UK. I would love to get some feedback from the Management team on this. read more

Oh, I wanted to love it. I really did. It's so cute inside and my husband is a frog lover and it's a short walk from where we live. But, despite the excellent service, the food was bland. We split the roast beef sandwich and home fries. The ciabatta bun it came on was soft and yummy, but the overall flavor of the sandwich had no taste. Our server asked us a couple of times if we wanted hot sauce and now I know why. The home fries, think scalloped potatoes that are pan fried, were soft and had a teeny tiny crisp on the edge. Eggs in a Pan: two eggs over cheese potatoes and "fresh vegetables" which included broccoli, tomato, cauliflower, onion, green pepper, and mushrooms (which should be listed separately since they are not a vegetable and many people are allergic). The toast was nice and buttery. The bagel was a regular bagel. Coffee is watered down Folgers or something like it. The orange juice was good. The service was friendly but very slow. The owner/manager seemed to have to make servers come back to tables to check on them. It wasn't bad, but I don't recommend it. Oh and if you share a meal, you have to buy an additional side or pay a fee. read more

As everyone writes-huge portions. You can split a plate for around $5, but i usually order a side of yummy bacon, and split my meal at no extra cost. Benedicts galore! Many varieties. Quiche is delicious. My husband like the lox plate, and also the eggs on a plate. Our guests really enjoy the waffles, pancakes, etc. Nice Bonus: You can make your own mimosas is you bring your own champagne! Reasonable prices. Sometimes a wait. Luckily, we can see the parking lot from our condo, so we can see if it's crowded. There's rarely a wait of more than 5 minutes. The tables are kinda packed in, so don't expect to have much conversation during your meal. So - I like it, and it's a must for our returning guests. read more

Super clean, cute frogs EVERYWHERE (I mean in the bathroom, on shelves and every nook & cranny) & down home friendly service. On top of that the food portions were large and delicious. The veggie omelet..wow! Okay, I've had many veggie omelets but never one with broccoli, cauliflower, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers & spinach... I'm sure there was more hidden in there but truly a delicious veggie omelet.. and covered in cheese was pretty tasty too! Only real negative was the side of bacon tasted like it was deep fried or maybe old. It was good but the "salsa" appeared to be stewed tomatoes and peppers. The was no real kick. We arrived around 10:30am on a Saturday. Given social distancing and marks are required, we were very surprised at how busy the location was and how crowded it felt. My family does a reunion in this area every year, and I have been thinking about the Mock Benedict ALL YEAR. Last year, I went on something of an eggs Benedict tour of the local breakfast places, and Frog Pond was far and away the best. The Mock Benedict has turkey, and it goes perfectly with the creamy hollandaise sauce and ideally cooked eggs. It's flavorful, as are the breakfast potatoes that accompany it. My family members were also pleased with their meals- do note that their omelettes are HUGE, easily enough for two. The side of fruit is a very generous portion as well. As for the atmosphere, I enjoyed it a lot! It's very cute and quirky. I will definitely be back here.... Very possibly again on this trip! read more

Boyfriend and I have been coming to Frog Pond in North Redington Beach for a little over 8 years now and we LOVE it. Place is clean, always packed (which tells you food is good), service is good and it just has a happy vibe with fresh flowers on every single table which is a nice touch I greatly enjoy. Cheese grits: Love them here, plenty of cheese and butter making them creamy and delicious!! Home fries: Yum Yum, big slices of potatoes that taste delicious with ketchup and hot sauce! Ham & cheese omelet: Boyfriend got this twice during our recent 3 night stay on Redington Beach, STUFFED with ham that tastes so fresh and fabulous not like a typical lunch meat. And it's HUGE! We don't go out to breakfast often but the overcast this morning delayed the beach and we decided on frog pond for breakfast. The place was very very busy! good sign. We waited about 15 minutes for a table. We were then seated in a small table and had then chance to look around. frogs here, frogs there, frogs everywhere! It was fun to look at the thousands of frog nick nacs that were strewn across the place. I imagine that regulars probably bring frog things they find through their travels. It was cute. I was very indecisive with the menu. I would have loved some sort of seafood benedict, but more than half of their benedict's had, fake crab meat? This was a turn off for me. Why? When every other place has loads of seafood on their menus? I guess it is probably to keep prices down. Anyways, I settled on the steak and eggs, got the hash browns "loaded" with peppers, onions and cheese. It was only $11 plus like $2 for amping up the potatoes. The plate was I was served was HUGE. The steak was probably 10oz, served rare, and pretty tasty. I was happy with it. The eggs were meh so I skipped them for the most part. The loaded hash was ok but very under seasoned. It also came with some random tomatoes, they were super fresh so it was actually a good taste. My dining partners enjoyed their meals. This place is an awesome value and for sure a local favorite. First time coming to this restaurant and would definitely recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because they didn't have sweet tea, only unsweetened tea with sugar packets. I'm from North Carolina and we love our sweet tea. I ordered the special which was scrambled eggs (looked like 3-4), bacon, grits, toast, and I added one pancake. When the food came (quickly) it was a LOT of food. I immediately knew I wouldn't be able to eat it all, but planned to try. Started with the pancake. It was the size of the plate and the syrup was as hot as of molten lava (perfect). Needless to say, the food was delicious and the staff/waitress (Laura) was amazing. We had an amazing breakfast here while on vacation! Be prepared to wait a bit as this is a popular spot- our party arrived at Frog Pond around 11 and waited about a half hour before being seated. The menu features many options, including some lunch items in addition to breakfast. After much deliberation I had the "Georgia waffle" that had peaches and pecans with a side of breakfast potatoes. The waffle was absolutely amazing and the potatoes were great as well topped with some hot sauce. Everyone else in our group was happy with their choices as well. The only reason for the 3 star rating is due to our interactions with the waitstaff. There were a few times when we felt like we were made to feel as though we were inconveniencing our waitress- asking for a clean mug because the one we were given was dirty, asking for separate checks, asking for condiments, etc. I don't want to knock off too many stars, because it was only my first visit to Frog Pond and the food was wonderful, but I just thought it was worth noting. read more

I have been coming here off and on since about 1983. I returned this morning for my standard order, which is the eggs Benedict. My family moved here in the early 70's, and started eating here since it opened in 82. The Benedict here is a staple of any visit to the area. Today, I had a plate of disappointment. An untoasted English muffin, room temperature holandaise sauce, and the potatoes were really a fascinating combination of cold, partially uncooked, and partially cooked into oblivion and largely inedible glop. Literally every time that I've been here previously, this place was fantastic. Today, the kitchen is putting forth a plate of food that would make the one eyed overnight cook at the Waffle House wince with embarrassment. That not withstanding, Amie, the server was fantastic. She was fast, attentive, and squared away 100%. The restaurant however, like so much of the service industry over the past couple of years, has fallen from fantastic to just simply average. read more

I went there by myself for breakfast. It was not crowded at all. They sat me at a very small table against the door the waitstaff uses to go from inside to outside seating. I thought my chair got in the way of the door but I went with it. I did notice a single man sitting in a comfortable booth. There were many empty tables. I ordered quickly. Prior to finishing my food, the waitress pulled my plate. I looked up and she then said oh did you want to finish this. I said no. While sitting there a waitress came in through that door and spilled hot liquid down my back. I jumped. Someone at the table next to me asked me if that waitress just spilled coffee on me. I said yes. Waitress never acknowledged this. I quickly got the check. I had a couple of phone calls to make and I started to use my phone when I noticed the employee/manager starring me down at the front. He was indicating I cannot sit there taking up a seat making phone calls. I ended the calling and left but went to find him to tell him about getting burned. He looked nervous and apologized and asked which waitress. I told him I didn't know but it was not my waitress. I will never go there again. I have been going on and off for years too. Unfortunately, it isn't the Florida hospitality anymore. I would get more of that at McDonald's. read more

Food is very expensive ... Our Autistic child wanted bacon it's not an option for a kids meal. It's 5.00 as an add on. Not a place I'll visit again.
