We have ate here a few times. Food is always good. My server yesterday I believe her name was Makayla was great! Very friendly, asked several times if I needed anything. Removed my plate as soon as I was done. My only complaint is when you walk in they say right away take a menu and sit wherever you would like. It just seems very odd and when there are 3 servers just standing there why can't they great you at the door ? I saw 2 parties leave due to that. Food is super good and the mimosa carafes were tasty and affordable! That being said, it can be hard to find seating because it's a smaller space and the staff at the bar were rude when we went. The hectic nature of THAT Central Park intersection make the dining experience of BnB almost unbearable, especially during Saturdays when the Farmer's Market is going on. Why not head over to Froggy's, which has indoor seating and smaller wait times? My partner always goes for the Swiss 'N' Shroomer, and it never fails to brighten her day. The juiciness of the burger and crispiness of the bun create an unbeatable combo. I'm insecure about the size of my hands, which is why I always order the sliders. Being able to choose two different options is great for my indecisiveness. And just 'cause they're smaller, doesn't mean quality is sacrificed. And lemme tell ya, we got the hots for their tater tots! Other burger places will only offer fries, but Froggy's is the badboy of the modern restaurant industry. I got the Malibu chicken sandwich with a side of Tater Tots and it did not disappoint! If you're looking for something filling but not too heavy, this sandwich is the way to go! Service is 4.5 stars but food + drinks is about 3. We had the Aggie burger, which has a bacon jam spread, and the clam chowder. The burger has won awards in the local community but to us seemed closer to a meatloaf consistency and nowhere close to the requested medium-rare (was medium well), and the jam was missing a sweet + acidic undertone great bacon jams have. Also, having tasted chowder all over norcal, this was definitely one of the thickest, not necessarily a positive but flavors were decent. The included fries were good. Overall, I think its one of the better burgers in the Davis area but is lacking compared to the greater SF bay area. Note that it ain't necessarily priced as a cheap bar burger, thus the additional scrutiny. The bartenders are engaging, and the drinks are dive bar++ and well priced. read more

You order at the bar, no real table service. Why five stars? The service was clutch. They were attentive despite being busy. My friend has been raving about this place for so long! They told me that their tater tots were the best they have ever tasted. They said the crisp of Froggy's tater tots was something that they will never forget. After hearing that, I knew that it was a place that I must check out while I am in Davis. The first time I went, I went with a group of friends. We all got our own tater tots and taste tested each others. We got the Philly Tater Tots, Shrooms Tater Tots, Jalapeno Tater Tots, and Chili Tater Tots. Out of all of them, I liked the Philly Tater Tots and Jalapeno Tater Tots the best (they have a small kick, so for those who don't enjoy spicy food, maybe stay away?) I found that the first time I went here, the tater tots weren't super crispy, which made me kind of sad. But the toppings with the tater tots was divine and delicious! They were super LOADED!! The first time I went, I saw that they had a trophy for the best burger in Davis in 2021. After seeing that, I knew I wanted to a second time to check out their burgers! I got the Cali Burger and Philly Tater Tots a second time. The burger was really good! As of now, I think it's my favorite burger place in Davis. The tater tots the second time around were SUPER crispy. Loved that! HOWEVER, the tater tots were also SUPER salty. I drank so much water after eating those tater tots... I do recommend this place though for sure! I am hoping to visit again, and I hope that the third time around, my tater tots will be crispy and not super salty! read more

Everything was good, but my date's burger in her burger bowl was pretty much raw. What a surprise! We both ordered ours medium-rare, and my burger was just fine. About half way through, my date was like...woah! She did not want to make a fuss, but after a few requests for me to say something, I finally did. Ambiance: Froggy's is a wonderful place that offers several ambiances; inside there are TV screens and a more bar-like vibe, and outside there are small and large tables for groups to gather in a relaxing and quieter space. I also get a "old friends" cheery vibe from staff, and especially the owner, which is actually quite friendly and nice when coming into a new space. Service: Service is always excellent and prompt. I think it's also smart that water is just offered with other drinks by default, especially on a hot day -- lots of people will say yes but few would think to ask for two drinks! Food: Food is very good too; check out the menu -- the Cajun fries are especially tasty with a nice heat level. Groups: Froggy's is a good place for groups, especially outside. I called a week ahead to give the owner a heads up, just in case our after-work happy hour would overwhelm them (~15 people coming at once). Froggy's has really grown on me over the years. When I first moved to Davis many years ago, it was largely a bar for college students. I had no idea they served anything other than alcohol. (Ok, I'll admit I could have done more research!) Last year we went several times--once for breakfast, and a few other times for dinner. Breakfast--the offerings were pretty typical. Nothing was really that unique, but it food was good quality, plentiful and served by some pretty awesome wait staff. Dinner: I usually get hamburgers, but they have a pretty mean BLT too! Burgers are honestly some of the best in town--really REALLY good. Highly recommend! **COVID considerations (I'm now adding these to reviews since they vary so greatly!) These guys are doing it RIGHT. They have outdoor seating, it is APPROPRIATELY distanced (though be aware in choosing a table--some are directly on the sidewalk, so people passing by could possibly get close to you). Froggy's burgers are just perfect. Hands down the best burgers in the entire Davis area. I take that back, Froggys has the best burger in the entire country. I've tried the best burgers in several cities and several states and Froggy's just does it right. The bread is just thick enough to absorb all of the juices from the meat. The seasoning on the perfectly size and juicy patty is perfect, never too salty or bland. Never had a bad burger here and is always the spot to eat at whenever I visit or pass by the area. Here's the scoop- The building is called Froggy's, and Tommy J's is the name of the "grill" located inside. Basically, its all one place. There is a nice lineup of bar items, and the food portion is thankfully not redundant. When I asked the waitress, or is it server? for suggestions, she gladly told me what she enjoys, asked what I was thinking of having, and suggested some modifications. It wasn't sharp and hard, but creamy, tasty, and divine. The burger is usually also topped with Frank's red hot sauce, but the suggestion was to have it on the side. Great choice. The burger was the best kind of juicy. Dripping goodness, not greasy fatness. The favor combo was so tasty! The bun which often goes unmentioned, was warm, light, soft, and delicious. My mouth is watering writing this. BEST BURGERS! The fries are lightly coated and good. Crispy on the outside, and light and soft inside. I was more focused on the huge burger. For around $12.00 a huge burger & fries = great deal! They should give a prize for finishing everything.
