    Biscuits & Gravy

Solid brunch spot in downtown Davis! My boyfriend and I came in around 11:30am on a Sunday and were told the wait for food would be about 45 mins, but we were already committed to trying this place so we stuck it out. We ordered and paid inside first, then elected to sit outside. I ordered the chipotle breakfast quesadilla and my boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy. Everything was tasty and I particularly enjoyed the crispy tater tots in my quesadilla. I don't know if this meal would be worth waiting 45 mins for again, but we enjoyed it overall and I'd be interested in trying more of their lunch burger/sandwich options. Portions were large and filling!

Came here with friends to try their famous burgers, and it did not disappoint! I had the Cali Burger, sooo good. Highly recommend getting the tater tots, perfectly crunchy and hits all the right spots! The service was really friendly too; everyone was so kind. We came in around closing time after surviving the corn maze, and they still took our orders. Great spot all around

My brother recommended this place for lunch because he often ate here with friends during his time in college. Froggy's is such a cute name and that was what made me interested, along with their delicious food options. They have a good amount of seating inside and outside the restaurant. As a bar and grill, it has fun and relaxed vibes that put people in a good mood. Service was good. It took about 20 minutes for the food to come out. It was understandable though because we were there for a late lunch at around 1 pm on a weekend. The burgers were huge and filling. The Philly sandwich was flavorful, crispy, and melts in your mouth! The tater tots and fries are the perfect sides that go with the meal because it's hot and crispy. Next time I will try their breakfast items!

    BLT Sandwich with Tater Tots

One of my favorite places to go to in Downtown Davis. My friends first introduced me to this place last year when we went out for drinks. We tried a bunch of different drinks that all had pretty unique tastes. For food, I ordered a chicken quesadilla which was the CHEESIEST quesadilla ever. I was levitating by how cheesy it was. 10/10 cheese pull I was thoroughly impressed. The next time I came here, I ordered a classic BLT sandwich with a side of tater tots to go. The sandwich hit the spot, and I was obsessing over the tater tots. They were SO CRUNCHY even after it was sitting in the box for a bit. 10/10 crunch for sure. The ambience can be pretty hectic since it tends to get packed. Wait times can be upwards of 1 hour depending on the time you come, so be mindful of that. Street parking only as well, so plan accordingly. Despite all that, this place is so worth trying out.

I usually come to froggy's/tommy J's with the friends, not really to grab a drink. Open seating, order at the bar, wait for the food. The staff are pretty cool, food comes out quickly, prices are alright (Davis pricing is uh...hot and cold). Moderately addicted to their Buffalo chicken salad. Would recommend for a decent bite. Not much to say otherwise. No pros/cons, just solid. Parking is interesting, but when is it not?

My girlfriend and I went to see a movie in Davis and afterwards wanted to escape the heat while grabbing a bite to eat. We ordered a salad and fries, but also got drinks. I will start by saying, I can't remember if their AC had gone out or what, but it was hotter than usual that day we visited inside the establishment. Regardless, they had fans on and there was a slight breeze. The two main points that stand out were... The seasoned fries were SO GOOD. I would return for those! And this drink that I read about from another yelper... I actually made my girl blush because at the register I asked, "do you still have this p * ssy kiss shot? And she goes, yes absolutely. Well, readers, it was soooooooo good. So sweet. Tasted like juice! We ordered another right after. Basically, if you're craving cocktails + comfort food, stop here and support local biz. Thank you for reading!

As a former UC Davis student, I have passed by Froggy's multiple times and never made time to try it. It's a bit tucked away in a corner of downtown by the Amtrak station, but that was perfect on a sunny Saturday when I wanted to avoid the Central Park/Farmer's Market area. My friend got a table outside while I went in to grab menus: you order at the bar and grab your drinks. The man working the bar was very friendly and we had a nice chat as he was getting the drinks ready. I got the Eggs Benedict and an iced tea while my friend got the Breakfast Quesadilla. The Eggs Benedict were standard but yummy, and I really loved the crunchy breakfast potatoes. My friend's quesadilla was massive and she said it was very delicious and filling. We ate outside, which is nice especially when the weather isn't too hot or cold, but they have seating indoors as well. I was disappointed that I never got a refill on my iced tea--maybe you're supposed to bring it to the bar yourself? That wasn't clear.

    California Chicken with clam chowder

My friend recommended Froggy's to me, and I secretly came here without him since I was conflicted on where to go for lunch. If you're reading this, sorry Jason. I got a California chicken sandwich with a side of clam chowder. So good! The clam chowder was rich and included plenty of clams/potato, and the chicken sandwich was divine. The avocado spread on the sesame bun truly stole the show, it elevated the entire sandwich to high heavens. If I come back to Davis, Froggy's will still have a place in my heart for blessing me with such a well balanced sandwich in terms of vegetables, meat, carbs, and flavor. I would love to try one of their other sandwiches or famous burgers, other reviews from Froggy's leave me excited to come back and try any of their other menu items.

We headed over to G Street WunderBar located on G street in downtown Davis. We ended up parking on the street-so many parking spots in Davis-so it was no problem. When we walked in,it was quiet, not a lot going on but I knew this was a fun place. Wasn't hard to imagine how much fun this place would be on a Friday or Saturday night in this college town. I asked the bartender lady and she pretty much verified that it gets nutso in there on weekends. This bar has lots of tables and multiple rooms,so they have capacity for many people. They have multiple pool tables and video games in the back room, along with an entirely separate bar back there. They have a big screen projector screen and many small TVs along the bar to accommodate anyone wanting to watch any live sporting event. The Happy Hour here is pretty solid as well,$5 drinks were available. I heard the food here is pretty decent but we weren't here for that-maybe next time. My favorite part of this bar though easily was the bartender-She was such a breath of fresh air,so much personality and her hockey knowledge was amazing-she really made my visit to this bar quite enjoyable. In closing, If you ever find yourself in downtown Davis and need to kill some time or just want a quick drink, don't hesitate to drop by G Street Wunderbar-it's a good time.

There are usually "Theme" nights that are always fun! They also do Banda nights occasionally on Friday's that most times have full Live Banda Bands. Thursday and Saturday is 18+ nights, so it's nice for younger college students to still be able to get out and have fun with friends. The bar area is blocked off and you can only get in if you have a wrist band so while you drink you aren't getting harassed by underage patrons while enjoying a drink. DJs are all pretty solid and play club hits. They do have a cover charge but it's worth it and pretty much every other club/bar outside of Sacramento. There are free tickets on Poppin or their text chain that sends you 2 texts a week, usually with a free cover if you show it to the cashier. They do have a dress code. Which is super understandable. There are so many places outside of Davis that have dress codes so just dress like you're going out on the town. Also: if you are underage and trying to use a fake ID... don't! Instead, our experience was ruined by the owner, Gordon Langstaff, and his completely inappropriate behavior around a small child. My son, who is three and on the autism spectrum, briefly picked up a loose electrical cord that was lying on the ground under the patio stairs (I have a photo of how exposed it was). Instead of calmly addressing the situation, Gordon walked over in a rude, irritated tone and said, "Can you do something?" I told him I was already handling it and redirecting my son, but as he walked away he started cursing under his breath, using foul language that was clearly audible right next to my child. There is no excuse for swearing like that in front of a three‑year‑old, especially when the unsafe cord was left out in the open by the restaurant in the first place. Whether or not my son is autistic, families should never be subjected to hostility and foul language from the owner of a restaurant. If you offer outdoor seating and leave cords and other hazards accessible, you should expect children to be curious and respond with basic courtesy, not anger. The food itself was mediocre, and after that interaction it honestly didn't matter. This was supposed to be a special birthday outing, and his attitude and language completely ruined it.
