Grilled cheese sandwich and cup of tomato soup
    Angela P.

Stopped here while driving through on a Tuesday for lunch. Very disappointed that they had 0 pies. Pie is in their name and they're all sold out?? Got a cookie instead from the display and it was hard. I was hoping for chewy inside since it's a thick cookie. I got the chicken salad on croissant, which was good. Husband got grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. The soup was just okay. Food did come out SUPER fast though.

Staying in Redding a few days. Discovered the place by accident as I was picking up a pizza next door to FTHK. Everyone was friendly, and answered all my questions. They also allowed my pup inside, a huge bonus. Yesterday I ordered only for my pup; skirt steak which they cooked to perfection. Love the industrial type architecture and eclectic decor. Music was also upbeat making for a great experience. This is a double review as I returned today with my pup. I ordered the terriaki bowl which consisted of mushrooms, chicken, edamame, quinoa, red and green peppers, cabbage, carrots and kale mix (can also do rice). Tasted great though a bit too saucy for my liking. Also ordered the skirt steak for my pup. Full disclosure; I ate half his skirt steak yesterday!

Good food, pleasant and quick service and of course pie. The Thai fusion wrap was generous with a delicious side dip.

Arrived at 6pm on Sunday, right before closing, and the staff was nice enough to accommodate us (thanks so much!) Chicken Pot Pie, bowl. An incredible value for $8. Definitely enough for a whole meal, especially with the substantial pie crust that you get with your soup. Cobb Salad with ranch dressing. Also huge and delicious. Comes with plenty of everything -- avocado, chicken, egg, bacon, tomatoes, cheese. California Chicken. It could have had more flavor (maybe some more mayo?). From the menu, it looks like it's going to be really big, like a sub size, but it's more of a large hamburger size.

FLAVOR (3.5/5): Pesto Benedict was decent, exactly as the name sounds a traditional Benedict slathered with pesto sauce. We also had their mimosas which were standard. Nothing blew us away but if you're looking for a brunch spot and aren't too picky, this wouldn't be a horrible choice. INSTAGRAM WORTHY (3/5): The inside of the place has ample seating and there are a few tables that line the outside of the building as well. Nothing fancy again, just your city spot for brunch. SERVICE (3/5): They only had one person managing the bar and cashier area. We sat outside so they had to call our names in to get drinks rather than bringing them outside. The food was brought to us. It took a while to get our order in and for the food to come out. TAKEAWAYS: Didn't have many choices in town to have brunch with a dog, this was one of them (sitting outside obviously). However didn't really care for the food or drinks.

Great place to stop for a quick bite! The place is comfortable with penty of seating available and a variety of options on the menu. Some of my favorites are the Peruvian steak sandwich, tomato basil soup, chimichurri tacos, Texas steak salad and brioche breakfast sandwhich. Yes, you want the side of fries! I've only had two items I don't really care for: the teriyaki bowl and breakfast burrito. The teriyaki sauce is very sweet and the bowl came drenched in too much sauce. The breakfast burrito is plain and comes with a side of pace salsa. There's beer on tap and they have one of those Coca-Cola fountain drink machines with a ton of options. The coffee is great and always tastes fresh. The order online for pickup is easy to use and efficient.

The blackened chicken Cesar salad is so good. Normally I would never order kale salads but this just hits the spot and I get some greens.

The servers were super friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, and there was a steady stream of regulars while I was here. I was initially excited for my meal but the food wasn't to my taste. The menu states that classic plates and omelettes come with garlic herb potatoes and choice of toast, biscuit, or pancake. My corned beef hash plate ($16.50) was pretty lackluster and underseasoned. The corned beef was mushy and more fine textured than what I'm accustomed to. However, the potatoes in my hash were decently browned and my eggs were cooked over easy as requested. The pancake was fluffy and came with pats of salted butter, but the pancake itself tasted like it was made from a mix. A server kindly brought over some homemade mixed berry, strawberry, and mango jams that made the pancake more interesting to eat. The warmed bottle of syrup on the table was a thoughtful touch. I didn't get a side of garlic herb potatoes with my plate, so I asked a server about it and they said my corned beef hash was already made with potatoes so it wasn't included. Maybe the menu wasn't updated or there was a misunderstanding, but I do see that another user posted their corned beef hash plate which did come with the garlic herb potatoes. My dining companion ordered the "pearl waffle" plate ($13.50) which had 2 Liège style waffles, whipped cream, and fruit. I ate some of the waffle and enjoyed crunching on the pearl sugar. It was nice with a smear of jam. The waffles are pretty small so if you have a hearty appetite, you might want to order an additional side. They ordered some scrambled eggs ($4.50) to round out their meal and said the eggs were fine. I don't think I'll be coming back but I definitely see why it's a local favorite. It's just not the best breakfast place for me and that's okay! Some non-food details: friendly and efficient service, indoor and outdoor seating, and decent amount of onsite parking + street parking available if needed.

This particular location (Churn Creek Rd.) is the best out of all 3 stores in the city in regards to interior and general vibes. The prices are a bit high, but in contrast to its contenders, I know what I'm getting and I'm happy when I go. My personal favorite is the Peruvian Steak Sandwich (specifically with subbed-in sourdough bread) and truffle fries. Sizing of things like the fries admittingly have shrank since I first went three years ago sadly. I have yet to have anything bad off the menu that didn't please my tastebuds. When asking if they use tamari or gluten free soy sauce, she said she wasn't sure and pointed to a list of salad dressing options that were marked. Not their rice bowls toppings - heads up- it's regular soy sauce. Also since I was asking all the gluten free questions, it would have been nice to be informed that the tacos were also served on flour tortillas. Not the cashier or the menu indicated this. Luckily I do not have a severe allergy, or I'd be furious. Obviously this place is a bakery, so there's gluten everywhere. I'm not mad, honestly. Just a little disappointed. Any information is best. I got the chimichurri steak tacos, which are covered in chipotle aioli - I'd honestly rename them to be chipotle steak tacos. Get zero chimichurri, the aioli completely takes over. I do like the steak isn't tough though, so still get some points for the attempt. For me, and my gluten sensitivity, probably won't be back since there aren't many options that are actually gluten free.

Located in the Placer Heights Plaza, next to Starbucks. Same plaza as Holiday Market and CVS Pharmacy. We were seated immediately as they were not busy. The menu was a bit different than online. Our server came to take our order. He didn't introduce himself and seemed like he didn't want to be there. We decided on the fried green tomatoes, fried chicken sandwich and catfish po' boy. When the po' boy came out, we thought it was burnt! We didn't know the catfish will be blackened by default. We thought it will be fried since it is a po' boy. The options can be blackened or fried based on the menu online. We were not given those options by our server. They brought out the food but didnt provide utensils until minutes later. Fried green tomatoes: It was good. Fried perfectly. The dressing that was tossed with the side salad was super salty. Catfish po' boy: Fish was tender but super salty as well. Fried chicken sandwich: Pretty good sandwich. Chicken was huge. The fries was so soggy, not crispy at all. Also very greasy. We were a bit disappointed as we drove out of our way to try this place. Nice ambiance though. I felt I was a bit underdressed lol
