Just got the best deal on sticks that I ever had, great sticks too. This store has a mass of drum parts and some museum level of bass pedals. A full great condition Camco set. a full room of guitars including Dobro's. Banjos, and old keyboards too. they likely have a B3, Etc. I had no idea this place existed easy to find and plenty free parking at the store. Reminds me of the "Pro Drum Shop" in Hollywood. One room is all drums. read more

We had been looking for a guitar, and shopped around town. Ended up purchasing one at Front Porch. They man that helped us was very welcoming and helpful. My problem lays that we paid $215.42, but it went through my bank for $222. Not much difference and I didn't want to hassle it so let it go... but watch the amount they are actually charging you. Awesome experience every time I have been in. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable with a lifetime of experience. They immediately identified the problem with my guitar and fixed it on the spot in less than 5 minutes. Charged me next to nothing too. Bought a set of strings- they were half off the price on the sticker, which already seemed super low. When I commented on it, they said they don't make any money on it, but they sell a ton of strings. Support local- its easy when the local guy is so great! read more

definitely call ahead before bothering to get off the highway and driving into town. this place looks great from the outside! but i can't ever seem to get in with enough time to shop. i've tried five times, and one time they were actually open - it was a saturday afternoon but the guy was in a big hurry to close up. i thought maybe he had a gig and had to get to sound check or something, hence closing at 4:45, but he said nope, it's just time to quit working. i tried again while passing through town- i played at the wonderful Fox theater down the street and was ready for some new strings and maybe a sweet old pedal or maybe that cool amp in the window - but they've been closed all weekend! i still have hopes of seeing more of this place... my 10 minutes thus far has been intriguing! read more

Great people! Called to find out about hours due to Covid-19 and was given a re-opening date. I needed help with re-stringing a Guitelele. The guy I spoke with hadn't heard of this instrument but said he'd research it and was sure he could help me. Called a few weeks later to make sure they'd be open & headed over. In a matter of a few minutes he'd restrung my daughter's guitelele and had it tuned perfectly! On another occasion we came and hung out in the Ukulele room during First Friday. So we were all in town for a show, all the crew and band guys wanted to come see this place after we found out they had all kinds of cool vintage stuff. There were some pretty big purchases made because there is some awesome shit to be found. Drums, guitars, amps...... everything. it looks tiny from the outside but they have a nice selection. Great employees, nice owner, totally friendly and helpful. There's a little yorkie that hangs out, it is soooo cute and playful. Luke at Front Porch took my phone call and was very pleasant, honest, and informative. I decided to give them a shot and boy was I presently surprised. Superior in every way..! One of the guitars I bought from them is a gorgeous G&L Doheny. A few months later, I was horrified to find a chip in the finish and had no idea how it happened. Yes, the place really does have a front porch, of a sort. We talked to some retired Western stunt-show guys there. It's densely packed with all things music, vintage and new. If the hubby can be trusted while browsing, greet Ginger the terrier and play soccer ball with her. Owner Artie says the Arts District was named after him. Not so sure about that part. read more

This place is great! I came in to find a missing tension rod for a memory lock on my drum set, and found one right away. They have a ton of used hardware odds and ends that will definitely come in handy when things eventually break or get lost while gigging. Can't recommend this place enough. read more

I would never even set foot in this place agian!!! I took my Gibson Les Paul here to be repaired. After telling me it would be no problem at all, I was told to come back in a week to pick it up. When I came back they acted like they didnt even know who I was?!?!? They said they had no record of me bringing anything in their store, and this was the owner Arty. I had been comming in that place sence I was 11 years old. I took him to the back to find out they hadent even started work on it and thats why he was acting like he didnt know who I was. Either that or he was trying to steal my guitar. I dont put that past them at all!!! Then I was made to feel stupid because I came back when they told me to??? So this went on for 4 months. This guitar ment the world to me. The first one I ever bought. When they called me back to pick up the guitar I found the glue joint for my head stock wasnt even solid. If you tightened the strings the head stock would bend forward. My guitar is a honey sunburst and they painted the head and neck black!!!!. It had orange peel all through the paint. I told the owner that this is unexceptable in which he told me "Tuff shit, it is what it is". Front proch has been around for a while but I dont see how if that is how they treat their coustmers. The owner thought he could just take advantage of a 19 year old kids and kick him to the curb and mess his guitar up even more that it was when it got broght in. Well you did Arty, charged me 500$ to do a horrible job and now I am going to tell everyone I can about the way you treat your coustmers.
