Pretty good, a bit overpriced for allegedly cheap pizza, but I'm going to chalk it up to "NYC is expensive" and just leave it at that. Got a slice of the cheese $3 (although on the menu it said $2.75, not sure why they charged more), vodka margherita, and chicken and broccoli. I think the vodka margherita was supposed to be spicy, but there was no spicy sensation at all. The chicken and broccoli was a bit bland and heavy. The cheese was cheese, pretty decent. Tried the pizza for the novelty of "Brooklyn pizza". Honestly there was nothing too special about it. The crust stayed crunchy and the cheese was gooey. Good pizza is good pizza. read more

Came across this place while walking back to the subway station after my family and I had visited the ever famous DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) and we were clueless about where to eat. That's when we stumbled upon this little eatery in the heart of the city. It sits in the corner of an intersection, so that makes it easier to find. We ordered one pizza; and it was a good thing we did. It was HUGE. They weren't shy about their ingredients either as it was covered with so many of the toppings we chose. We barely had any room on the table for this pizza pie. LOL If only we knew it was going to be that big, we wouldn't have ordered the spaghetti and salad. The freshness and quality was pretty good. As far as the pricing goes, it was reasonable, considering it's in the middle of the city. Customer service was okay. When compared to other eateries, this place doesn't come close to top notch service, but then again it's not a full serviced restaurant. Most of the customers that were coming in there were mostly doing a grab n' go or having a quick bite and leaving right after. The restrooms only have one stall for both men and women, so there could be a line for the ladies. This can get really annoying. I know that living in a big city, finding a decent bathroom is the hardest thing ever. For a place that has so many people coming and going, they should have reconsidered the restroom situation. All in all, I wouldn't mind eating here again when in the city, but I wouldn't go out of my way just to have a slice of pizza here when it comes pretty close to other places. On the plus side, if you're visiting with a big group, one pizza pie can feed a lot of mouths. LOL read more

Dumbo has a lot of "famous" pizza places, some with long lines... but after multiple visits to each one, I think Front Street has the best pizza in the area. Pasta and Sandwiches are also great on the extensive menu. Service is always friendly as well. Ample self seating for a quick casual bite. read more

I was walking from the F Train at York to Brooklyn Bridge Park, and I was suddenly so hungry that I found myself acting like an asshole. Yes, more so than usual. I needed something to eat immediately in order to masquerade as a reasonable human being again, and Front Street seemed like the quickest option. I asked the guy behind the counter which was the freshest pie, and he gave me a sausage slice. It did indeed look like it came out of the oven more recently than the host of other options, but I wouldn't call it fresh. I would call it edible. That is, except for the sausage, which was downright nasty. Every time I bit down on a piece of it, there was a distinct snap. Not the juicy, crisp snap of a good hot dog. More like the cringe-worthy snap of uncooked gristle. Much like several other DUMBO establishments, Front Street Pizza is basically operating a monopoly; when you have no other options in the area, the quality sometimes suffers. My boyfriend and I come here every time we can make it to Brooklyn. The location is close to the Brooklyn bride, subway station and the famous street with the amazing view of the Manhattan bridge. The food is amazing! The pizza slices are big and very tasty and so are their other meals. I personally love the garlic bread and the Greek salad. I like that they don't gouge you, even though they totally 100% could with the lack of other slice options in the area. Plain slice was good. Pepperoni was just okay. Ok so I totally get that this area is very expensive. The rent and overhead must be astronomical. Pizza was OK. $4 for a plain slice with two strips of roasted red pepper which I don't even like that much. I wanted a plain slice but the guy gave me this instead and I just wanted to get out of there. He also gave me NOT the slice I asked for, which annoyed me. I spent $4 on this slice because I used then restroom here and I wanted to stay honest. They have two single restrooms and allowed guests to use it without the third degree. Very nice. I've been here a few times and came right after Oktoberfest celebration at the archway and having a few beers too. The guys were very patient as we had a hard time figuring out what we were going to order, a pie or a slice, a slice or a pie...hmm. They close early as they open early for all the construction workers who eat pizza for breakfast, lol. The bathroom is clean and the counter guys are cool. The service was great. The people were friendly and made sure you could get in and out. The crust was crispy a bit of chew without much flour taste. The sauce was light and fresh. Front Street pizza seems like a local hotspot for Pizza and Calzone. It reminded me a bit of Seattle's Pike Place Market. Lots of action behind the counter and boisterous cooks and waitstaff. We had been looking for solace out of the rain in DUMBO (area under Brooklyn Bridge). This place was warm, friendly and seemed to have a lot of locals as well as us tourists in need of a good slice. I was struck as we entered with the memorial etching for 9/11 victims. There also lots of clippings and photographs on the walls so I sense this place has quite the following and is family-run. We had a couple slices (huge and fresh) and a salad and a calzone (big as a baby's head). Delicious! Even though it was crowded even at 2 pm, we got a table quickly. Let me start off by saying this place deserves more than just 5 stars! My wife and I decided to try this place after we were not too impressed with Grimaldi's (sorry, but true). I had been craving some greasy, dough tasting, cheesy pizza and this place did not disappoint. We're from Los Angeles and this place definitely is a place I'd come back to if I visit again. Let me start with the pizza. I like to try the basics first and move onto the specialty items on the menu. Pepperoni pizza was delish! I nice big slice that really counts for 2 slices makes you want to have another one, and I did. My wife had their cheese pizza and she too loved it but could only eat 1 slice. The dough was tasty, great sauce, right amount of cheese and pepperoni. Not too thick but not too thin. You can taste the love in every bite. Lastly the service. Service was good! The guys their are attentive and quick to get your order out. We were privileged to meet John, one of the owners and he's such a kind, humble man. He took the time to share a little history with us of the place and the neighborhood. Over 40 years this place has been open and theirs a reason for it. This family cares to share with New Yorkers and the rest of the world some good pizza. John took care of us outsiders well and marked something special in us. Thank you Front St Pizza! Front Street has excellent food, their pizza is absolutely amazing. Coming from CT where there are many great pizza establishments in New a Haven, this place is as good.
