This used to be my neighborhood pizza place. Every Sunday a grandma slice after church. The crust was dense, crunchy, with the slight taste of olive oil. I was shocked to see a sign in the window: Under New Management. But I figured, they must have learned how to make the pizza. Wrong. The grandma slice was so disappointing. It was soft, and floppy like a regular pizza. No crunch. No stick to your ribs density. No olive oil. I understand people needing to move on from businesses, but why mess with perfection? The 3 Luigis is a solid place to grab a NY slice but is nothing spectacular in my opinion. With so many great pizza shops there's a lot of competition, however this place is good spot if you need a slice in a pinch. My favs are the grandma and the sausage/mushroom. Service has been great too. I will be back to try out their non pizza items like the Philly cheese steak and other subs. read more

The pizza was okay. I got a slice of the Sicilian grandma slice and it was good but I've had better grandma slices elsewhere (Cheez Louise and Williamsburg Pizza come to mind). And somehow it was already a little lukewarm when I got it even though I watched it come out of the oven. But still, pizza is pizza, so it's not like it was bad or anything. Y'all have not had good pizza until you have had three Luigi's. There is something about their dough that is absolutely perfectly New York style. It comes at you hot and so gooey cheesy, with the crispy soft crust. I can't explain it but y'all best check it out yourself. Staff are always kind and wonderful. The ambience is so typical neighborhood no frills pizza bar- get your slice and eat it at their two tables inside or one outside and keep it moving. Although it can take a while when it's busy around dinner time it's worth it for the perfect slice! read more

The Grandma slice here is *terrific*. It's the only kind I like besides a neopoltain-style 'za. Great proportions - not too much cheese, an excellent sauce, thick but not too bread-y. I haven't tried much else here since trying the grandma. read more

Honestly this place really grew on me. The first couple times I went were during off hours and the pizza appeared to have been sitting there all day, cold and grey looking. However, If you go during peak hours you get a fresh slice more readily; but where this place really shines is when you order a pie made fresh for pick up! The crust is chewy with a really nice crunch on the 'skin'. The cheese stretchy and the oil that sweats out of it will salivate the glands. Finally the sauce is a punch of flavor that has a nice sweet tang. Happy to have it so close by :) read more

This pizzeria is my family's favorite place. When ever my son visit us he has to have a pizza there. By the way it was the first time to order to deliver. Deliver Tim was faster then we expect We use to order margarita or bruschetta. At this time we ordered both! My son really missed it! Without a doubt, the best Brooklyn slice I've had since my youth - practically unparalleled. So why only 4 stars? Mainly a hygiene issue. I've had to more than once tell the guys to not touch my pizza (the back crust) with their hands since they're most times the ones who've handled the cash as well. I hate that. Honey Mustard Pizza. Yeah, I said it... I stumbled upon this place while getting chips and beer for a party. I stopped in to grab a slice and saw something that I've never seen before. Honey Mustard Pizza. The pizza consisted of Chicken with honey mustard drizzled all over it. It's like eating chicken fingers to go. Really damn tasty. OH MY GODS. This is the extension of the Luigi's along Dekalb. They finally have a sit down place (it's pretty small) but the food is completely worth it. My friends ordered pasta that costs $8/$10 but the plates are good enough for two people (and they come with 2 garlic knots). I myself ordered a cheeseburger for 4.50 which is like HEAVEN to me. Not typically on a sesame bun but on a toasted hero cut crosswise. It can seriously feed two people also. But note that the mayo is a bit heavy and the meat is well-done but the hero bread works! The food is amazing, the portions are amazing. This is now my favorite spot in my area. (second is 67 burger) read more

The pizza is cool and all, but I've never been more insulted than tonight when, after I'd paid and waited patiently for my pie and left, Angelo the manager sends one of his crust tossing cronies running down the street after me to ask if I'd paid for my order. Wait, what? I live a block away and have been a regular customer for a while now. I've never seen anyone chased down like this before. I could see if it were crowded, but it wasn't. I could see if there was some confusion about who the order was for, but the CASHIER TOLD THEM THE ORDER, WHICH I'D PAID FOR, WAS FOR ME. Honestly, fuck this place. I'd rather make the trek to Not Ray's on Fulton, where the pizza is not only better, but so is the customer service. I knew I should have gone to the bodega and just gotten a sandwich. Remember Luigi's Pizza? its a Pratt Institute favorite with a no frills interior, no place to sit down and a menu that consists more or less exclusively of pizza. Well, this is the realized cousin of it using the same extraordinary pizza recipe and Italian authenticity expanded into a more comfortable sit-down restaurant. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and the whole place packed up in a matter of minutes. The food is phenomenal and there's none of that "waiter" nonsense to get in the way to force you to add a tip in with your group. I ordered a Margarita Pizza with a soda and a cannoli on the side and the damage was only a meager $8.75 after I split it among my group. Also thanks to the sit-down nature of the place, the food comes as soon as its straight out of the oven leaving the crust as fresh as possible and the management there is incredibly friendly, striking up small conversation with just about anyone who crosses their path. Their cannoli was more or less on par with the same things I've had in Little Italy for twice the price and their pizza was much like a fresher version of the Luigi's I know and love. If you're a Pratt student, or someone in the neighborhood, you should definitely check this out especially, if your in a group or with a family. Their menu has a lot of choices ideal for any tastes and aside from the location being a little hard to find without an outright sign on top of it. It has a loyal local following and easily trumps the popular tourist pizza locations without much of a fight. Seriously, I can't recommend this place enough. read more

This is easily the best pizza in the neighborhood (not saying much), and I'm really pissed off that I just found it two weeks before I move out of my apartment. I got the margherita, which at 19 bucks wasn't too pricey. The cheese was fresh, though not nearly enough of it, and the sauce had a great kick to it. It also sported a great crust, and the pizza was the least greasy I've had in a while. I love the location, and I'll have to try they're pasta and sandwiches ASAP. read more

I read the reviews here before going to The 3 Luigis and came away with a solid game plan: two slices of buffalo pizza--andf they did not disappoint. However, they kind of remind me of clam pizzas in that you have to eat 'em really quickly or deal with the cold and gummy consequences. Lesson learned. The joint itself was kind of chaotic, but fun to master: the customers don't line up so much as they crowd the counter, and it's up to everyone in the room to recognize where you stand in the queue. The prime real estate outside will either be claimed by people saving tables for their friends or non-customers just having a sit. Have fun figuring that one out. All told, The 3 Luigis is a solid pizza spot, and I second (or third or fourth) the Do The Right Thing feel. read more

Meh. It was okay but I expected better based on all the high ratings. I went into the place expecting good stuff. By no means was I expecting Grimaldi's or Motorino but what I received was just so-so. There wasn't anything horribly bad about the pizza but I did find the crust to be a little too thin for my personal liking (and I prefer thin crust). They also don't deliver which is a major bummer. A large pepperoni pizza set me back $19 and that left me pretty shocked. Seems a little steep. They aren't stingy with their toppings though so that deserves to be said. This little "hole in the wall" pizza spot is worth trying. They have random flavors along with the classics. It looks more like a grab and go spot but they do have limited seating. It's not one of those places where they have a host and they sit you. It's first come first serve and fight to death for a seat unless your going to get it and leave. Pizza comes out quick and if you sit down they bring the pizza to you! Great service and pizza is really delicious. I ordered the Bacon BBQ Chicken Ranch Pizza split between 5 of my cousins and one pie made us full. It's also BYOB if your in the mood to drink while eating inside. Beware though if your sitting in the back tables they only have one restroom where you might meet new friends who's waiting to use it. read more

Good, not great for a slice. A little perplexed by the 4+ star ratings, given some of the other pizza joints within a 20 minute walk. I was happy with my two slices - traditional pepperoni and a fatty sicilian. Tasted a couple other combos at the table and all were good. Just not great. It is nice that you can sit at one of the 2-3 tables in back, instead of looking for a stoop somewhere. Can't speak for their whole pies. I'd go here again if in the neighborhood, but might not make a special trip for it. 3 stars **Special note: if this were in my hometown, it would be 4 stars - but I have to judge this on region, and sorry, BKLYN has some darn good slices! read more
