Flew out to Denver and returned a week later. Delays, delays, delays....While sitting on the plane for over an hour to get to a gate, a half a dozen of our neighboring passengers swapped stories of similar ridiculousness. Boarding late, waiting on the runway, waiting for an open gate. For our return flight, we spent 2hrs up in the air and 2hrs waiting, either waiting to board or waiting to get off the plane. This is the most blatantly dishonest and unethical company I have ever experienced. I, like many others, had vacation plans canceled due to COVID-19. My flight with Frontier was scheduled to depart on 3/29 at 10:47pm. In anticipation that the flight might be canceled, I decided not to cancel my flight until the last minute which would be at least 24 hours before departure. However, my flight was magically cancelled online ("via the website") on 3/26 and I received confirmation of this cancellation via email. The email also informed me that I would receive a CREDIT and not a refund. When I called Frontier to question who canceled my reservation, agent after agent stated that it was canceled online so I must have canceled it. When I declared that I DID NOT cancel my reservation, the agent inquired about who else had my information and stated that the only info needed to cancel a reservation is the flight number and last name. They claim that when the reservation is canceled online they cannot see who canceled it BUT, if canceled by an agent, it would show their agent ID. On 3/27 when I asked for my reservation to be reinstated I was told the flight is either closed or sold out. Clearly NO ONE is booking flights during this time so its highly improbable, almost impossible, that the flight is sold out. If you haven't put the pieces together yet, here is Frontiers game plan: They go to the Frontier website and cancel your reservation by inserting your information so that it looks like the customer canceled it. They are forcing customers hands to take a credit knowing that no one wants a credit during this time. Furthermore, their credit policy is a slap in the face and only serves the company. You must rebook a flight within 90 days, for the booking period currently available, and use the entire credit during that booking or forfeit the remainder. When I mentioned all of this to the supervisor, she continued to repeat the same lines about how my reservation was allegedly canceled and then hung up on me. After extremely long wait times, the supervisor disconnected the call and didn't call back even though they have my contact information. I will be writing as many news agencies as I can and the BBB to report them for their actions. I know I'm not the only one that Frontier is taking advantage of. read more

Website is horrible and none of the links work that they sent me then I got over-charged for a carryon because I didn't book it before the airport. I'm a student, and fly often from Detroit to DC to visit family over the holidays. I've never had a problem with Frontier. They board on-time, leave on-time, and even arrive earlier (about 10-15 mins) than advertised. Frontier staff are cordial and professional. Frontier's planes are as good as any I've been on (and that includes 10 years of flying, including internationally). Twice I was able to get $19 fares with them, or would otherwise pay $60, to FLY DURING THE HOLIDAYS. Awesome! They advertised these fares a few days before, so booking in advance doesn't necessarily save you money when it comes to Frontier. Nonetheless, I will continue to ride Frontier because they're as good as it gets for domestic flights for the money. A lot of people here have complaints about having to pay for checked/carry-on baggage. Just so people know...they allow 1 free personal item (ie backpack). Also, you DO NOT need to pay an extra fee if you choose to be randomly seated. It seems most of the frustrations people have with Frontier comes from deliberately disregarding the information Frontier posts online. They don't hide any fees, they make it plain and clear what their policies are. All these (negative) reviews say more about the people riding Frontier than the company itself. read more

Having flown Frontier many, many years ago (as in Denver Stapleton days); then a few years back during their renaissance with a newer fleet, comfortable seats, and warm cookies; and more recently as a uber discount carrier, I'm just curious what is wrong with the complainers? I just completed a round trip from ORD to SLC for $30. Yes, it's a joke that you have to pay for a seat assignment or to put your bag in the overhead, but it was $30!!!! Quit your crying about no free snacks or drinks, grab a soda and chips in the terminal if you can't sit on a plane for a couple of hours without noshing. And although the new seats are not unlike those on a bus, I wish every air carrier would take Frontier's lead and get rid of the reclining seats. Since all airlines have decreased the pitch between seats making any flight uncomfortably claustrophobic, nothing is more irritating than 5 minutes into your flight the princess in front of you fully reclines her seat inches from your face. Frontier may not have the most comfortable seats but at least you know your space won't diminish even more so once the fasten seat belt light turns off. I still consider JetBlue to be the best airline overall for service, comfort, and value; but Frontier has retained it's good customer service and if all you need is transportation from A to B and don't want to drop a few hundred bucks, then hop on. read more

After clearly telling us what we needed to help support our case (a letter from the doctor) - we sent an email to Customer Service at 9:30PM and by 10:30PM they got back to us with a very favorable outcome. If I could give zero stars I would. They don't deserve even one star. I travel frequently for work. I completely regret booking on this airline, all my worst fears were true. Two reasons this is the first and last time I will fly frontier: first - they nickel and dime you to death. When you check in you have to pay an additional fee for your seat, check bags, beverages on the flight, etc. etc. The cost ended up no cheaper than other airlines. It's a bait and switch in my mind, don't be fooled by the up front low fare. SECOND- they don't participate in TSA pre so forget skipping the long security line if you have one. If I could give negative stars I would. Yet another egregious experience with Frontier. Cancelled flight with hours of misinformation, and zero accommodation or assistance other than a refund. Do not rely on this Airline to act ethically, professional or according to industry standards. The gate agent Rosie specifically completely mishandled the situation through dishonesty, attitude, tone and lack of problem solving skills. 7 hours after the flight was scheduled to leave there were no food vouchers and minimal leaning toward antagonistic "assistance" in helping the travelers. The Frontier team was disorganized and likely mis or under trained how to manage the situation. I am out transportation and lodging fees plus another expensive flight on another carrier while Frontier twiddle it's thumbs. Shabby customer service from beginning to end. Even the customer service phone line took 2 hours to navigate to get any assistance other than bad attitude and talking in circles. Will never fly Frontier airlines again. Was booked on Frontier as a charter flight to the Dominican for a wedding. The only reason I gave two stars is because the people who checked me in at the counter were pleasant and accommodated my requests for Emergency Exit row seating and didn't charge me extra. That's where the pleasantries ended though. The flight staff are very rude. The couple across the aisle from me pressed the call button to order drinks and snacks and the flight attendant asked rudely why they didn't ask for drinks and snacks when they had the cart right there. I loved the guy's response when he said he wanted to see them get more exercise. I got up to use the restroom and another attendant rudely told me to stand behind aisle 4. The attendant she was talking to saw I had a cc in my hand and asked if I wanted to buy something else, which I did. She asked if I was already in the system, and the rude one who told me to stand behind row 4, said she charged me for my first drink but didn't want to get out her iPad, she was pretty snarky about it. Then when it came time to pass out the immigration and customs forms, they explained that one was for individuals and the other was for households and don't ask any other questions and that we should figure it out. Also, don't ask us for pens because we don't have any, figure out how to get one ask your friend or neighbor. And if you don't have a pen obviously, you've never flown internationally. This is all over the intercom. Obviously I've never flown on Frontier internationally before and never will. All the other airlines I've flown in international they give you something to write with. I understand it's a no frills airline, but I at least expect professionalism. read more

This Airline is terrible. They did not keep us up-to-date on when the flight was going to take place, and they did not communicate why these changes were taking place. They let us on the airplane, and proceeded to taxi to the runway, and sit for 45 minutes while not telling us what was going on. Then they accuse the Flyers of delaying the flight by getting up to go to bathroom after having sat for a 30 to 40 minutes. The flight attendants were snippy at best comma and avoidant at worst. We were not told where are luggage would come out comma and we had to find it ourselves. Also comma it appears they could not be bothered to bring our luggage and a reasonable amount of time. If I could give Frontier Airlines 0 stars, I would. I booked a flight that was cancelled due to the pandemic. I was told I could not get a refund and was only able to get a voucher. Being that they cancelled, I should be able to get a refund. I had several flights booked on different airlines all of which were cancelled due to the pandemic. All other airlines refunded me except for Frontier. Rather than lose my money, I took the voucher and was told I had to book a trip within 90 days. I booked another flight, and today, that flight was MAJORLY altered. Originally, it was a direct flight. I received an email today saying that the flight was altered. The departure flight was no longer direct but had a 14 hour layover. The return flight was cancelled all together. I called Frontier asking for a refund because I was unable to make thar flight due to the MAJOR changes on their end. They would only give me a voucher, no refund. It is absolutely ridiculous that I cannot get a refund when THEY are the ones making the changes. This is a bait and switch situation. I payed for one flight and got a completely different flight. I will NEVER fly Frontier airlines ever again and I will discourage all of my friends and family from EVER flying with Frontier. Extremely disappointed. read more

Frontier Airlines is the worst experience I have ever had. Starting from my departure. Flying from Pgh to SLC I checked my bag and of course had to pay extra but then they lost it for 3 days. Nobody knew where it was and nobody could find it. For 3 days. I finally told them I needed some cloths so I wanted some compensation. They said if I was willing to go to the SLC airport and pickup a voucher they would give me a voucher for $200. I told them since I needed cloths I would be glad to go pick it up. No more ten 20 mins after I hung up from that call I received a call telling me that they found my suitcase!!!! And they would deliver it to me!!! AMAZING!!! After 3 days of nobody knowing where it was it just magically appeared!!! That was the beginning of my vacation. Realize that with frontier you get a lower starting rate but you have to pay extra for EVERYTHING. Such as: an assigned seat $14-50. The $50 is for a seat that reclines because all the other ones do not. You have to pay $30-$60 for you your bag but it's carry-on or you check it. It's also $1.99 if you want a soda or a bottle of water. Many extras I do not recommend Frontier Airlines to anybody. read more

My hubby and I were first timers w/ this airline, flying from Chicago to Vegas and arriving to our destination at almost midnight. For the first time too, our baggage lost for almost 37 hours. Along w/ other passengers missing their baggage as well, kudos to Wendy (Las Vegas baggage claim office agent) who handled the situation fairly well. When I called their baggage claim office in Las Vegas the following morning, they have no word for us as to what happened, and what's worst was that the agent on the the other line hanged up on my husband as he was trying to air his frustrations over the matter. Really?!?!!! I had to follow up myself and call the O'hare TSA office to find out. If this is what they so called CUSTOMER SERVICE means to them, we will not fly again w/ FRONTIER. It was really an aggravating and stressful experience for us that ruined our vacation! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. Travelling to Cancun from O'Hare with my husband and 5 teenagers was a breeze. (First time any of us have flown Frontier). Getting home...a TOTALLY different story. We arrived at the airport to come home and after 15 minutes of waiting for our tickets, a guys next to us said our flight was cancelled. No one from Frontier bothered to let us know. So after waiting an additional 15 minutes for concrete confirmation that our flight was, in fact cancelled, we finally were informed it was (because the crew didn't show up). The woman seemingly in charge reassured all of us that they were working on transfers to another all inclusive, booking rooms and getting us on other fights out for the next day. After an hour, she sheepishly says she misspoke and Frontier "officials" would be getting a letter to all of us with our options. After ANOTHER hour, said letter finally arrives. We have 3 options... #1 take a Frontier flight home at a later date (pay out of pocket for the tickets) they would reimburse us after 72 hours and would be giving us a $300 flight credit to fly Frontier within 2-3 weeks #2 take a different airline home. Again, pay out of pocket for your tickets. Submit all paperwork for review and we should have a decision of reimbursement within 2-3 weeks #3 (my favorite) they will pay for a rental car for us to drive over 3,000 miles back to Chicago (through Mexico City no less) We chose option #2 and it's been almost 2 weeks since our "claim" was filed with no word. Can I give zero stars!?!?! I am traveling with 3 small children. Round trip from Phoenix to Chicago. When we arrived to check our bags in Phoenix (at 4AM) there was exactly ONE person checking bags and a solid 50+ people in line. It took nearly 2 hours, we arrived to our gate with barely enough time to board the plane. Now returning to Phoenix, our flight has been delayed (which happens - I get that) and the way the gate agents are handling it is just plain wrong. They are RUDE. We are fllying to Trenton NJ from Ohare airport. . I am ok with delays and problems as problems do arise. I'm NOT ok with lack of communication and lots of attitude when asking for information. At one point they told all passengers that we would be boarding in 5 minutes and all families with children needed to get in line for boarding right away. 45 minutes later after standing in line with children they were told the flight would be delayed for another hour. Email alerts were continually after the fact and a joke. Their board info was wrong and never updated. When asked about this their answer was that they don't control the boards. This is hands-down the absolute worst airline to use. The staff is incompetent. While attempting to board a flight from Chicago, they hit the plane with the walkway,damaging it. They delayed the flight for two hours to repair the damage, but they did nothing. After two hours they cancelled the flight. Had they been honest to begin with we could have booked another flight. Flew on frontier airlines flight 1274 Las Vegas to Chicago Ohare, with very unprofessional flight attendants. As one of them was giving the pre-flight safety speech, he would often stop as he kept giggling through the entire speech. One of them seemed to be an off duty employee who happened to be flying back to Chicago. He was disturbingly loud, talking bad about past customers along with a female co worker. This kept going on throughout the entire flight. Personally, even if you're off duty I still believe you still represent the airline so act like it. How can we trust unprofessional flight attendants? I think it's fair to say it was just icing on the cake when the agent with the nastiest attitude proceeded to yell at people who were waiting to pre-board with disabilities and children to get out of the way so others could finish de-boarding. May 18th was my 1st time flying with Frontier. I booked my via Orbitz for a 10:40 pm flight. The cost was $48.98. I was aware of the additional charge for carry on/ checked luggage. Another $35. Upon checking in on May 17th at 10:40 pm/24 hrs in advance of my flight, only 1 seat was available for no additional charge. The remaining seats were an additional $5-$15. Another $5. I was told at the airport that to avoid the seat charge I would have to just check in at the airport. WHAT...what's the point of checking in early. The seats were firm and did not have recline capability. This wasn't a huge problem for me. I thought the flight would be quiet but that didn't happen. There were approximately 126 passengers and there were 7 FLIGHT ATTENDANTS. WHY so many attendants I have no idea. At 1am most passengers were sleeping but the 4 flight attendants in the back crew area were horribly noisy and talking loud as ever as if it was 12 o'clock in the afternoon. Some people have to work in the morning!!!! SHUT UP.!!!!!! Why are you louder than the passengers. Extra cost and noisy. You pay for what you get. SMH. read more

If I could give a 0 out of 5 stars I definitely would. I can't believe how poorly I've been treated by customer service for this company. I flew to Las Vegas from Chicago, on a non-layover flight, and they lost my checked bag. It was sent to Syracuse, NEW YORK. I'm not sure what happened there. Not only did it take a few days to locate, but the Syracuse office said that they Fed-Ex'd my luggage to me overnight. As I kept calling the Las Vegas Frontier office to check the status, they kept telling me there was no tracking number and they couldn't find my bag. They told me this for 6 days before I took it upon myself to contact the Syracuse branch myself, as the Vegas office kept saying they could not get in contact with them. I got a hold of them on my first try, and they gave me the tracking number right away. They showed me they had sent my bag, but my bag didn't get to my hotel until the DAY AFTER I left. It's been a week now and I have yet to receive my bag. I have called customer service every day and they treat me like garbage and do their best to get me to give up asking for my reimbursements. They only reimbursed me for half of what I payed for my checked bag, so I've been calling to get that reimbursed and get reimbursed for what I had to purchase in Vegas, since I had nothing. After countless phone calls and wasted hours of my time, I finally got through to someone competent enough to care about my situation. I'm not even being fully reimbursed for items. My bag is now having to be shipped from Las Vegas to Chicago. However, they thought it was appropriate to do ground shipping instead of overnight even though they've had my bag missing for a week. I can't stress enough the lack of care and the extreme incompetence of everyone I've spoken to. Don't ever choose to fly Frontier, but if you do and lose your bag, ask for Katie. She was the only kind and caring person to help me with this extremely frustrating and stressful situation. read more

I took Frontier as it was a cheap option for my extended family Disney cruise for 8 people. Thank goodness we had the common sense to fly a day early and a day late because we would have missed the start of our cruise and the flight back if we hadn't! I understand that Frontier is the bargain flight and if you you pay for what you use (check bag-pay, put bag in overhead bin-pay, choose your seat-pay, etc). When we went to schedule pick our seats, they decided to sit us all together for $14 each except for the 2yr old which was shifted to the back of the plan by herself for the bargain price of $10... cheap babysitting cost right !?! ;) Unfortunately there was a baseball team that liked to book only middle seats because they are the cheapest to book... but this sucked for families! The flight there was delayed... no reason why and absolutely zero terminals or signage for Frontier at the Spirit gates at O'Hare airport which was crazy! Then on the way back we ended up in the line which was longer then any Disney ride! Finally, on the way back we checked our stroller at the front so that it will be there when we got off the plane... they gave us the wrong tags as they ran out of the right ones... but we were assumed by the fat agents, flight attendants and even the pilot that our stroller would be waiting for us when we got off... which of course it wasn't. When we spoke to the supervisor of Frontier at OHare (Alicia Rosalina) she told us "Unfortunately it wasn't Ohares fault that the stroller was taken to baggage or that the car seat was missing".... fortune had nothing to do with it... apparently Frontier did nothing wrong and she was not to be blamed... I guess I didn't expect Disney customer service but I also didn't expect to be shit on either. Will never fly this airline again... not worth saying $100! read more

Horrible experience with flight attendant Dandre on flight 1317 coming in from Chicago tonight. Bad attitude, not welcoming, repeating himself and stumped his foot when I ask to go t the bathroom. Pilot had turned on the seat belt light as I approached the bathroom. I told him I was sick I could have an accident. He refused to let me use it. 30 minutes later I had an accident in my seat. I was so embarrassed. If I had gone to the other end of the plane I could have used the bathroom. They were letting people use them at the other end. Dander your a piece of work. No one tells you, you have to pay for a carry on until you get in line.  $45 to carry on plane $40 to check and had to be paid by credit card/debt.  I'm sorry what! The whole point of carry on is so you can bring luggage with out 1 paying for it and 2 not having to worry about checking it. When I asked the girl why and that I've never heard of this before she said all airlines are going to be doing it even the big ones.   I said I doubt that and she said your right I only work in the airline industry don't listen to me.  She was too say the least very rude not to mention very unprofessional looking.  All the employs where very unprofessional looking.  Greasy  hair or just not brushed. Also you get on the plane and you have to pay for drinks/snacks.  After we had to pay to upgrade seats already $60. So that I could sit up front comfortably and sleep since I'm pregnant and my husband who is 6'6" could stretch his legs. Another cause for concern I'm horribly afraid of flying and while we are driving on run way the flight attendee says what is the pilot trying to kill us his driving like he is high.    So now we are in the air a little girl maybe 4/5 gets up to use the bathroom.  The fasten seat belt sign was on but all the attendants  where up and moving.  The attendant just keeps yelling at the child the fasten seat belt sign is on like 6 times.  Poor kid look like she was going to cry.     I flew southwest down they were polite, accommodating, and there was no surprises. The flight attendees were professional and so helpful. Frontier people were rude, unprofessional, loud (louder then the kids on the plane. I couldn't even sleep or read my book), acted like they where on break.  Talking about buying weed.  They served drinks food and then sat talking loudly up front the entire rest of the time. I will never fly frontier again.  This was a horrible, unprofessional, experience. Not to mention a waste of an up grade and money since the flight attendees would not be quiet. It was an evening flight all lights off but when you have 4 flight attendees standing around talking and laughing really loud there is no sleep.  These are the most unprofessional people I've ever seen.  I understand low budget but that shouldn't mean low class. read more

These people have zero clue on what customer service is. Their lack of planning for even the simplest problem shows their incompetence from lowest to highest levels of their company. Do yourself a huge favor and fly a different airline. Their planes are old and dirty and their flight crews are not prepared or trained for anything out of the ordinary that may come up.
