    Very happy with the discount price to Europe, the relatively comfortable configuration of the A330-200, the competence of the ground and air crew. Flight on time, boarding was very efficient. Most importantly, nobody put their bare foot on my armrest from behind (though I always bring a sharpie in case it happens again).

    How TAP Air Portugal Stranded Me--first in Boston then in Lisbon I have traveled internationally for many years and rarely write negative reviews, but my experience with TAP Air Portugal was so mishandled that other travelers deserve to know what they may be dealing with. On January 21, 2026, I was connecting in Boston for flight TP218 to Lisbon. During a seven-hour layover I repeatedly checked the airport departure boards. Each time the flight was listed at Gate C17, which also matched my boarding pass. About 90 minutes before departure, I arrived at Gate C17. The monitor at the gate showed TP218 - On Time. As departure approached there were no agents present and no aircraft at the gate, but the display still listed the flight departing from C17. I even took timestamped photos of the display shortly before departure. When I went to the airport information desk to ask about the apparent un-posted delay, I was told the flight had already boarded at a different gate. No updates on the departure boards throughout the airport. No change to the display at the gate. No personal email or text notification (and they had my contact info.) By the time this was discovered, the aircraft doors were closed and boarding was impossible. There were no TAP representatives available in the airport to assist stranded passengers, so I had to call the airline myself. After multiple attempts I was rebooked for the following day -- at my own expense -- and told I could request reimbursement later. It gets worse. While I was in Portugal, TAP denied my reimbursement request for the replacement flights. Then, a few days before my scheduled return to the United States, I logged into my account and discovered my return ticket had been completely canceled. TAP had marked me as a "no-show" for the flight I missed because their gate information was wrong. Not only had I never been notified of this cancellation, but the TAP representative who rebooked me in Boston had explicitly assured me that my return flight would not be affected. With my departure approaching and no help from TAP, I had no choice but to purchase a new return ticket at the last minute for $870. In summary: * TAP displayed the wrong gate for my flight. * I missed the flight while waiting at the gate listed on my boarding pass and boards throughout the airport. * I had to buy replacement flights. * TAP refused reimbursement. * TAP then canceled my paid return ticket without notifying me. Mistakes happen in travel. What matters is how a company handles them. In this case, the combination of operational failure, lack of airport support, refusal to take responsibility, and cancellation of a passenger's return ticket without notice made this the worst airline experience I have ever had. Travelers should be aware of the risks when booking with TAP Air Portugal.

    I waited in the check in line for almost two hours - a line with no signage on the monitors at the counter and the main airline info screens showing that the ticket counter was closed. There was one employee working the Premium line and two employees for the rest of the passengers. Once the Premium line was empty that employee didn't start taking main cabin passengers. The line crawled along. Many were still in line when boarding was ready to begin, still needing to complete what we were originally in the line for and then contend with long TSA lines. Towards the end, the employees were abrasive and telling people to hurry, putting the blame on the passengers rather that acknowledge they were understaffed. With all the other airlines available at ORD, I would suggest finding another carrier to your destination.

I wanted to write this review as soon as I got back, but I have been busy until now. United Ground department, I hope Samir didn't get in trouble for spending an extensive time helping a customer. His compassionate ways have made my mom's relocation possible. I highly encourage recognition of such working ethics. Good workers make great companies. It was the weekend of May 30, 2026, flight # UA2373. My mom was a frail disabled senior over 80 years old. I came to NY to fly her to CA, as she had been requesting. The flight was long, she got very tired and became very difficult to deal with. She was walking around the area with a cane, being uncooperative with me. She found Samir Mezzi and got very comfortable with him. She only trusted him and no one else. Samir was on duty but was very willing to help her. My flight was close to departure when she refused to enter the TSA checkpoint for the security screening process. When I explained to him the situation, he didn't hesitate to help, he was very determined to successfully help us fly. After some time spent being patient with my mom, he called his colleagues to figure out some ways. They figured to team up and help us out. There were several of them, from various departments. They comforted her, were gentle and patient with her. They even bought her a soda. The TSA checkpoint was successful. The manager of United Airlines came and offered solutions to the challenging situation, of a complimentary onsite hotel stay or delay it, in wanting to help make the flight an easier and more comfortable experience. She was also very patient and genuine. We passed the TSA checkpoint and went on with proceeding to the check-in gate. I wanted to let her know of my decision, but it would be a hassle and leave my mom for a moment to come back to talk to her. So, I didn't. I hope she understands. But I did speak to her about my appreciation. Samir kindly helped my mom all the way until she was seated on the plane. He said some comforting kind words to her before he left. We appreciate everything he has done. My mom is now happy and healthier living in CA with me. Congratulations to United Ground for having such a stella worker. He well represented the department and the airline. Thank you, Samir, his coworkers, United Airline manager, United Ground, and United Airlines for making it possible. Much appreciated.

Leading up to our trip, we kept receiving email confirmations that everything was on time no issues at all. Then, the moment we arrived at the airport, we were blindsided with an email saying our flight was CANCELLED. No warning. No heads-up. Just canceled. The only options given were to rebook or take a refund. The earliest available rebooking wasn't until Tuesday, which completely ruined our plans, so we were forced to take a refund and book last-minute tickets with United Airlines costing us significantly more money out of pocket. We were told our baggage would be transferred to our return flight, which added to the confusion and stress. Unfortunately, it didn't end there. On our way back from Puerto Rico, we were scheduled again for a 12:29 PM flight. Throughout the day, we kept getting delay notifications one after another until the last update pushed the flight all the way to 2:59 AM. We waited, checked in, and then unbelievably the flight was CANCELLED again. At that point, there was little to no help from staff. We were told to go to the Spirit desk, leaving us scrambling around the airport, trying to figure out how to retrieve our luggage from baggage claim, rebook flights, and then go back through TSA all over again. It was chaotic, exhausting, and completely disorganized. Once again, no available flights until Monday or Tuesday. Rebooking with Spirit would have meant more delays, more uncertainty, and more money wasted with zero guarantee the flight wouldn't be canceled AGAIN. So we had no choice but to request another refund and book with United Airlines spending even more money just to get home. This entire experience was stressful, expensive, and completely avoidable with proper communication and customer support. Spirit Airlines showed zero reliability and zero accountability. Never EVER flying with Spirit again. The "cheap" price is not worth the headache, the risk, or the extra costs you'll end up paying in the end. Huge thanks to United Airlines for actually getting us home safely.

The flight was rescheduled to the following morning, but AA put everyone up in a hotel room with a few choices, along with a meal voucher to use at the airport. There is also a shuttle that will take you to the hotel, and back to the airport. Unfortunately in all of this, everyone's checked bags were left at the airport. Which is why I always keep some clothing, undergarments, and everything I would need in case my luggage gets lost or inaccessible. AA did accommodate everyone and sent an email apologizing for the inconvenience. And it was all very inconvenient, but I'm always ready for these kinda of things. If I come across another issue like this, I hope it's through AA, cuz I know they'll take care of us in these situations.

As for my airport experience, surprisingly, TSA was not crowded at all! Other than my carry-on bag being checked due to me having toothpaste check-in went smooth. At the time, I chuckled with personnel because I knew clearly what it was but leave it to hard-headed me for packing it, hehe. As for the flight gate, it took me forever to find it due to lack of signage. As mentioned, I have never flown JetBlue, so the terminal was one I had never visited. What threw me off was the fact that the only terminal 2 signage I saw was for baggage claim. Eeek! I nearly missed boarding, but I kept on moving until I found the JetBlue gate. Now as for my onboard experience, I wanted to charge my phone as I slept on flight because my phone battery was low. I found that there were no power outlets at all which left me with no other option but to preserve my battery as much as I can enroute. I have to point out that it was unpleasant smelling smoke as the plane prepared to lift off from Chicago, Illinois. It was then, I started to take notice of how outdated everything appeared on this plane as my melatonin kicked in. I slept the majority of the flight, so I had little communication with the flight attendants other than the boarding flight hello, a flight attendant asking me if I wanted a snack as I woke up briefly, and the airplane departure goodbye greeting. And as for the airplane interior, the seat comfort was decent! I did have an acceptable amount of leg room, even with my backpack underneath the seat in front of me. I did love the image of the airplane hovering over states on the seatback television which I could not help but notice while awake. In spite of what the plane did not have, it did have access to XM radio stations & Direct TV channels. I survived this flight with JetBlue and would be open to flying with again, as well as recommending to a friend, relative or colleague after this experience. The screens on the back of the seats are great, and it's so cool that you can watch TV/Movies and in flight navigation is very neat to follow the plan as you fly.     Everything , they are the worst airline I've ever been on. We flew into Chicago and they may just…read morewait on the tarmac for 45 minutes to an hour. So we missed our flight going first class from Chicago to San Antonio. Then I was unable to get anybody to help me none of the gate agents could do anything I called for a supervisor. Finally, when the supervisor got there he wanted me to fly the next day. I said no I need to get out tonight and I understand there is a flight out 9 o'clock on American reluctantly he got me tickets on the American flight. I will never fly United again
