If I could give Frontier more stars I would. I was working with an artist who was handpainting a lehenga for me for my wedding. Frontier agreed to help construct the lehenga and worked directly with the designer to make this one-of-a-kind piece happen. Unfortuantely, the artist got a few things wrong and delivered the panels only a few weeks before my wedding. Not only did Frontier figure out how to make it work, they flew the pieces to India to make sure all the colors and pieces were right, and got it back in time before my wedding (we're talking within two weeks here) for me to try it on and for them to tailor it. I cannot thank this team enough, they truly went above and beyond, and even made me a pair of amazing trousers for my reception. I also needed jewelry for my outfit and shopped the entire block and online for better options, but Frontier was the only place that had beautiful costume pieces that were not cheaply made and lasted the whole evening. I'm deeply grateful to everyone at the store who made my wedding in Sri Lanka so memorable. read more

I came here because I needed a lehenga for a wedding. Got the one I wanted but of course it needed alterations. The lady mentioned that I did not need alterations for the top, just the bottom. I immediately knew the top needed alterations but the lady would not budge and continued to say that that's just the way it looks and that it would straighten out throughout the day; which made no sense. I will say that there was a younger girl helping me out who wanted to help but once the older ladies got involved, she succumbed to them and agreed with the lady. Moreover, when I got my alterations back for the bottom part, nothing was done to it. I needed to go back another week, wasting gas and money for them to actually do it. It felt like they just didn't really care, unfortunately. Also, I was going alone and I'm not of the same beautiful culture, so I feel like they took that opportunity to really do the bare minimum. They were aware that this was my first experience wearing a lehenga. When I asked about the top alterations, they began talking in a different language for a minute and then saying, "no, that's how it should look." And no, I don't think these women are racist, I think they care to cater to people who spend a lot in their store. I think me just not being of the same culture made it more easier for them to say outrageous things such as my lehenga not needed to be fitted and to walk around waiting for my top to straighten out on it's own. I took my top down the street to get it altered and they immediately saw that it needed work! I paid more even though Frontiers job was to do it. I would say that if you do go to this place, make sure you go with someone that can advocate for you and that knows the culture, maybe they'll be nicer and will actually care to do a good job! Searching for outfits for an Indian wedding is A LOT of work! In this area, there are so many stores but prices are also very high. You're not sure if its worth to buy that expensive dress for one occasion. I came here and was looking for an outfit. Their prices are also expensive. I went through their Sale rack and found a dress. When I looked at it, it looked as if was going to be big on me. Luckily when I tried it on, it was PERFECT. nice color and style. So my family has been shopping here for YEARS. Weddings, events, we have spent thousands. Now, I just got engaged so I dreamed of this place to be the spot where I get my outfits. Though the outfits are gorgeous, you can get the same ones online for A LOT cheaper. I recently came here with my family to get an engagement sari. I saw this sari online for $1350, but prices $2700+ at the store. Which is fine, we bargained a bit to drop the price. The designer I found online -- her name is Seema. The issue was after spending the thousands of dollars, my clothes were tossed on the floor, like it had no value. The tailor just threw it harshly. Then, I'm told we're paying extra for the "experience." I think the son of the owner mentioned that. As a fashion model, I'd never dare to do that -- tossing my clothes on the floor like it had no value. And the "experience" was quite honestly awful and a mess. I say check online before you shop here. Same designers are sold everywhere. And you get a much better experience. I'm really upset because my dad is just a simple guy... he spent so much money on me to see our clothes just get tossed and hammered around. It's unfortunate because what is suppose to be a sentimental memory is now not a good one. read more

I'll preface my review of Frontier by saying this is the first yelp review I've ever written. My experience with Frontier was so negative that I felt compelled to warn others before they trust Frontier as a vendor for one of the most important days of their life. My family, (now) husband, and I decided to purchase several outfits (thousands of dollars) from Frontier for my wedding and these are the key challenges we experienced: Quality: I've attached a few images of the "quality" of the outfits we purchased from Frontier, which range between $400 - $2000. Within 5 minutes of wearing my brand new, green Anarkali suit from Frontier on the morning of my mehndi party, the zipper completely broke. My mother had to stitch the side closed (with me in the outfit), so that I could wear the only outfit I had planned for the day. What's worse was my husband's wedding sherwani, which he received only 2 weeks before our wedding day (more on timing below). The stole was about 1.5-2 feet too short (so it wouldn't drape properly over his left hand and was shorter in length than his sherwani) and the buttons on his sherwani wouldn't remain closed. On our wedding day, there are videos and pictures of the hooks on his sherwani opening, not because they were loose, but because the placement of the hooks on his sherwani were not aligned correctly, which made it impossible to stay closed unless we secured it with several safety pins. Despite showing the owners proof of the faulty outfit design, they refused to acknowledge the problem. In addition to his sherwani, the $100 jute we purchased looked used. Stitching/Alterations: A few alterations are totally normal for custom-made outfits, particularly for blouses, pants and lehngas because people will gain or lose weight from the time measurements are first taken. Normally, these are minor and non-complicated alterations...not with Frontier! When my outfits didn't arrive until 3 weeks before my wedding events started (more on timing below) and I had to take the same outfits in for minor alterations 4 or 5 times, I started to get frustrated. For example, when I received my ($$$) bridal lehnga, the blouse was 2 inches longer than our initial measurement. That blouse required up to 4 alteration attempts before it sort of fit. At one point, the blouse was shorter in the front and longer in the back. The green, Anarkali suit referenced above was about a foot too long when I received it (though they already had my measurements). It took 3 attempts to cut it to the length they measured. My family members had the same experience with their outfits. Timing: We began purchasing our outfits 6-8 months before our wedding, with the promise of delivery within 1.5-2 months of the event. That was not the case. Our wedding outfits were delivered 2-3 weeks before of the wedding, but each required several rounds of alterations. We live in the Bay Area and made special trips to LA for fittings for outfits that they failed to mention hadn't arrived yet including one that didn't arrive in time for a significant event, which forced me to use a back-up outfit. Customer Service: Customer service is completely absent, irresponsible and unaccountable. We worked with a number of vendors to source outfits for our wedding. Frontier was the only vendor that grossly underperformed and underdelivered. The team sweet talks you into a sale and then neglects you at every step thereafter, failing to deliver on the promises sold to you. read more

I did not have a good experience with this store. Please do yourself a favor and go to the designers directly and the quality will be better, cheaper and fit you well. I will add some sites you can go online and get things custom made and delivered directly to your home. And it will probably fit better than getting it done here. Now they have completely stopped responding after they told me they would refund some of the money since I had to go get things altered somewhere else 4 days before my wedding. @ saurabh - you've been nice and helpful untill these incidents started to unfold. I've tried to get a hold of you multiple times and you've told me you would return my call and discuss this with your management team and you never got back to me. This was in regards to the Red lengha situation. And you had said that if I had to get it altered externally your store would pay for it. This cost me a lot to do so last minute, I had to pay rush alteration fees. If you want to handle this offline, please get in touch asap. read more

Don't buy from here if you are plus size. It's taken me a while to post this review but I feel like it's certainly time that I share my experience. I got married over the summer, and I purchased my wedding lehenga from here. I found one I liked, and the sales lady said it wouldn't be an issue to alter it. On the day of my fitting, the tailor kept saying really terrible and hurtful things about my size to the other people that worked there in Hindi. Let me start by saying everyone at this location is wonderful. I was in the market for a wedding outfit and they went above and beyond. One thing that did annoy me the sale person kept walking away once we decided on the dress. The measurements took forever. We were about to walk out when we were stopped by Tanmay if it wasn't for him we would have left. I love that he stepped up and took over the whole process. The alterations sometimes do take longer so please have patience with them. But overall the management has great customer service and communication skills. I was so pleased with my experience here for my bridal shopping. I came here back in February with my family window shopping and Sudha helped me and showed me what I was looking for. I didn't commit right away, but the bridal lehenga that I wanted always stayed in my mind. Fast forward to this month and getting closer to my wedding date, I made my appointment and luckily had Sudha was there as we just clicked at our first meeting. She was a dear and made me feel so special! Tanmay was also there and helped in giving advise and measured me. He paid close attention to the small details that I wanted like adding more tulle underneath for a more structure look, color change overall, etc. I can't wait to get my customized lehenga! Used to be a great Indian boutique as a customer of about 10 years, like since I was 20. Went the other day and was saddened to see how the new management is going. There used to be a really sweet woman in charge- Neeta. Actually I believe she still works there but her son... rough. It's rough. He doesn't get it like she does. Prices also went through the roof. To be in charge means to understand your customers- he has no passion and no care. It's deeply saddening honestly. Some of the employees are amazing though, but the way he treats them. I saw one of the employees very scared- she needed to get off early but she couldn't. She didn't say anything but I could see her sadness. She tried to mask it, but I could tell his words cut deep. Came here with my mom looking for a lehenga for a wedding and my mom wanted to take a picture of one on the mannequin but was told by one of the employees that we were not allowed to take pictures. However another woman walked out in a lehenga and her family members took pictures and the employee did not stop them and gave my mom and I dirty looks. She was not helpful at all. Also the second floor was a mess as there were clothes all over the floor as if they were hoarding them. Overall bad customer service. Shows only favoritism towards brides. read more
