My wife and I were on flight 1966 from LAS to MSP IN which the front and rear flaps had malfunctioned and the captain and crew had to make emergency landing procedures. They were very professional, calm cool and collected that put the passengers at east during this stressful time. On a personal note....my wife was a flight attendant for over 5 years with a different airline. We were the only ones sitting in the exit row seats. Prior to takeoff my wife informed the lead FA during her exit row briefing that she was an ex crew member. Needless to say, when the crew informed the passengers that there was a malfunction with the flaps, that same FA went to my wife to inform her that she may need her assistance. She was calm, knowledgeable and made me even feel at ease even tho my wife had already brief me what to do in an emergency evacuation since we were sitting in an ex row. My wife was so impressed how the captain responded to mechanical issue and how the flight crew in the back handled the passengers that she said she would go back into the airline industry in a heartbeat and work for Frontier just simply because of how professional they were during this stressful time. She then told the passengers around us to say thank you and make sure they give the captain a hug when they deplane:) My wife did just that and the passengers behind all said thank you to the crew while deplaning. After all of that, I can still say that this was the best flight I have taken in very long time, and we travel a lot! P.S. This was our first time flying on Frontier and is looking forward to our next flight with them:) read more

Extremely disappointing experience with Frontier Airlines at MSP Airport on June 20, 2026. I went to the ticket counter specifically to purchase tickets in person after confirming on Frontier's website that airport ticket purchases are allowed. I even brought my 65-year-old mother with me for this purpose. To our surprise, the agents refused to sell us tickets and claimed that they had stopped doing so within the last week due to concerns involving sex trafficking. We were also told that agents have the right to refuse ticket sales. No specific reason was given for denying us service, and neither of us was doing anything suspicious. What makes this especially frustrating is that Frontier's own website clearly states that tickets can be purchased at the airport. If the policy has changed, the company should update its website instead of forcing customers to make unnecessary trips and then providing contradictory explanations. Customers deserve clear, consistent policies and respectful treatment. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at MSP. read more

When my partner and I went to board our flight MSP to DEN departing at 10:15 am, on June 26th we were informed that we did not have seats. They put us in line to the ticket agent who informed us that they had downsized the plane and 20 people would be denied boarding. They handed us a card that had a QR code that simply linked to their refund info page. They also handed us a sheet titled "Notice to Passengers if Denied Boarding" This described the DOT 14 CFR 250 rule which says "If the carrier does not offer alternate transportation that is planned to arrive at the airport of the passenger's destination or first stopover less that two hours after the planned arrival time of the passenger's original flight -- over 2 hours arrival delay: 400% of one-way fare (not to exceed $2,150) After handing us these two items, the ticket agent said he could get us on a flight leaving after 10pm that evening. Seeing that we would be compensated 400% of the ticket price as that was an almost 12-hour delay, as per the notice sheet they provided us, we declined that booking and opted to find another airline flying into Denver that day. The ticket agent told us we would receive an email from Frontier within the next 24 hrs about how to process that refund. We still have not received that email as of writing this on the 30th, four days later. We booked Southwest flight leaving at 1:20 pm. Later that evening, already in Denver, around 9pm, my partner received a notification that her flight to Denver would be boarding soon from MSP. We did not request to book this flight. Concerned, she called customer service and spent about 45 minutes trying to explain the situation and cancel that flight that she never booked. Finally, she was able to get them to cancel the 10pm flight, and they told her she would be refunded. Then, when she tried to do the same for my flight, they told us that I was marked as a no-show at the airport. I explained that was impossible, as I learned I was denied boarding from the agent at the gate who scanned my boarding pass. At the gate. In person. They said I needed to call the Denver airport and get whoever marked me as a no-show to remove that from my status before they could process my refund. When I first called the number they gave me , it was Frontier ticketing service, but as I moved through the automated menu as directed, I ended up with a message saying I was eligible for a medical alert device (I'm 44) and then it hung up on me. The next time I called it went right to the medical alert message and again hung up on me. The last time I called the number simply stopped working, Later that evening I tried the Frontier customer service line again and finally reaching a supervisor after negotiations with the initial representative, I explained the situation (this time there was no mention from them of my being a no-show, so have no idea what that was about). When he learned I had the notice to passengers form (14 CFR 250), he told me he'd process my $166.98 refund for the ticket, and send me a $250 voucher, but for the additional refund, I would need to share that notice via the refund form on their customer service page That form did not work (and still doesn't as of the writing of this). The next day when I called customer service to tell them their refund form wasn't working, this person told me I was ineligible for the 400% refund because I had accepted a $250 voucher. Their supervisor told me the same thing. I explained I had not asked for that voucher and that I didn't want it, and that the only reason we opted for a more expensive ticket was because we had been told by frontier we would receive a 400% refund as per 14 CFR 250. They can have the voucher back, I never want to fly with Frontier again anyway. They insisted there was nothing they could do. As of this point, we have no means of restitution. At every turn throughout this, they gaslit us, lied (about my being a no-show, about my "accepting" a voucher), insisted there were things they couldn't do until we kept pushing (even for simply the initial refund). The numbers and websites they gave us did not work, and in the end denied us the refund that the DOT requires they provide. I assume frontier just thinks people will give up, and so they have no problem doing things like overbooking 20 passengers who they assume will just eat that loss while they get that profit without having to pay the compensation that those people deserve. I know it's very privileged to be complaining about a bad experience flying, but this is the future of our society as corporations are held less and less accountable, they'll be able to take your money and there will be nothing you can do about it. read more

Big oof! I got tickets here from a booking agency with no warning about their luggage policy. They are very heavy with price gouging in every other area. For example carry on was 53 and checked bag was 48$. I could have got a flight with delta been on time or early and not had to have hidden fees. They legit charge you for everything; name change due to ID? 75$.... Talk to an agent? 40$.... there was NO ONE at the kiosk. There were no texts that the flight was late. They did not serve water or drinks on the flight and they did not board until ten minutes AFTER we were supposed to leave. We arrived 30 minutes late. The only thing saved this from one star was the flight attendants! They were so sweet, funny, interactive and kind. I at least hope they treat their employees well. read more

I would give Frontier Airlines an F! They are a terrible airlines! I gate checked my car seat and stroller from my trip a month ago from MSP to LAX and they lost it! When I arrived at LAX my car seat and stroller were not there and I was left stranded at the airport! They were unable to provide me with a loner car seat and stroller thus said I should go buy a new one and I would get reimbursed! It has been a month and they have not reimbursed me the $440.99 I had to pay for a new car seat and stroller and they also have not found mine even though I gave them the info of what it looked like and my claim ticket! Every flight both to my destination and back ( were delayed. We had a layover both ways, and on the way back home the delay was so long we missed our connecting flight. On top of that they lost our luggage in the delay madness. Met multiple other people today with nearly the exact same story (one family who had the EXACT same experience down to travel destinations). There is no way to contact any live person over the phone. A main form of communication for the company is WhatsApp. The employees are largely unhelpful with questions or directions on who to talk to. We will never be flying with Frontier again, and I highly recommend no one else does either. If I could leave 0 stars I would. One of the gals at baggage check-in in Orlando went above and beyond for my family. I never caught her name, but sweet black lady, I hope she gets a raise. read more

Flew frontier 3 times 2 of 3 were Airline issues. Flew frontier 1st on a surprise trip to Disney (Orlando) Land for my daughter. They canceled 3 hours before flight. Luckily we had money and were able to book on Southwest. 2nd time flew back from LA via Hawaii as a connecting flight back to Minnesota. Worked out great outside of the gouging for bags and fees... I get it great business move if you over communicate to customers. This last time (today), the 11:31am flight was delayed 3 separate times from 12:53, 2:29, 2:53 and now 3:40pm. They are waiting on a Southwest Crew coming now at 3:30pm because the team that came in from Las Vegas "timed out" (I totally support this, no staff, pilots or flight attendants should work over time due to an airlines issue in scheduling, planning or foresight). Overall I would disappointed but I'm not because of my experience from 4+ years ago. While I like the moves to remain a discount airline as a business person myself, you can skimp or lack communication and true leadership through compassion which I can only assume the leaders at Frontier lack. You can be a discount carrier without being a bad airline to fly.... I will TRY to not fly Frontier in the future due to them making their valued staff bear the brunt of criticism for their mistakes.... read more

Even though my personal item bag fit fine under the seat, as it did on this flight and every other airline i fly, they had a burly menacing employee when loading demand that i squeeze it into their little metal boc that supposedly represents the allowed personal item space. I felt rushed as i f i was holding up the line for others so i just relented and paid to have them treat it as carry on. Later saw that they charged my credit card $99! My daughter and her husband were flying out of Las Vegas 09/18/2022, you know the routine, park, go thru security, you're arrived two hours early like you should, you wait, boarding time arrives and no plane? If I can give them zero stars I would. First off Frontier charged me $55 per checked bag and only gave you a 40lb limit. Secondly our layover was 8+ hours and then the plane was still delayed getting us to our destination. Once we got there and I picked up our luggage, my daughter's checked bag was damaged. I tried to go to their office to file a report but it was closed so I did it online the next day. (Not knowing they have a 4-hour window to report damages. So I reported my damages and got an email back from the airline saying I missed my 4-hour window to report damages. It's not exactly cheap when you're flying last minute for Thanksgiving, and I can't bear to be huddled with the masses--so cue massive upcharges. Unfortunately, Delta was charging $800+ for a similar flight, so Frontier it was. Booked extra for a carry-on and a seat up front. Arrive to the gate to be told that there are no "supplies" or "food or beverages" on the 3+ hour flight, so if you planned on any nourishment, you best get yourself something in MSP. This January I had to cancel my wife's birthday getaway flight from MSP to CUN on due to my youngest brother's death. I called in to postpone my flight and after they explained their policy I was given half of my purchase price in flight credit pending a death certificate or funeral director note sent to frontier. I submitted all requested documentation as of February and I have yet to receive a call or email back from Frontier. I have called now over 10 times and emailed for the last 2 months. I would not recommend this airline as of now as this was my first experience and from the comments it appears to be quite the theme. If you speak to a representative and they tell you that your matter has been transferred to the "back office team" for processing, it appears that this is trained language in order to no longer deal with a customer service matter. I'm always down for low prices. However, when I booked with Frontier Air, I was a little sketchy at first. It was cheap but you have to pay for your bags, seats, etc. which added another $200 to my flight. The flight itself was terrible mainly because you don't get any complimentary snacks and you have to pay for EVERYTHING. Upon my returning flight, I checked in about an hour and 15min before my departure time. Well, they actually didn't let me check in since I was literally 3 minutes late to check my bags in. The female at the desk was a little rude. She didn't seem to care about me missing the cutoff point at all. I had her call her supervisor to see if I can still get checked in really quick. He told her no. And then another Frontier employee kept saying that their supervisor was just a plain a-hole and really could've let me check in if he wanted to which made me even more furious. They rebooked me for the next flight which was at 5 in the morning the NEXT day. Overall, I'm never flying with Frontier ever again and I would NOT recommend this airline to anyone. It must be stated from the outset that I did not "choose" your airline myself; Priceline chose Frontier for me. All your marketing and PR materials that condescendingly chastise anyone who didn't purchase their ticket through your website were downright insulting to me. Instead of tailoring your marketing message to passive-aggressively belittle people for *not* using your website, maybe you should try *promoting* the positive aspects of your site? Oh wait -- there aren't any? Then maybe you should fix that! Get a mobile app that actually WORKS! Get a web designer *without* a mental illness! Passive-aggressive snark in your PR messages is not the answer to these problems... Your airplanes are beat up, run down, and in a generally sorry state of disrepair. Various components, such as tray tables or screen control buttons, were broken. There was a big green bug crawling on the inside of my window. (I named him "Rudy", because I figured you'd want me to.) The air coming out of the overhead vents smelled bad. "But we have pictures of animals on the planes' tails who have cute nicknames!" Who cares? Your fleet is falling apart, and Bo Bo the Bear can't pick up a wrench... Your nickel-and-dime policy of charging for every little damn thing is horrible. I have never before flown on an airline that wanted to charge me $2 for a soda, or $25 for one carry-on bag. WTF is that about?? Every single one of your employees seemed rather stupid and/or incompetent. (With the HUGE exception of Joylyn in Denver. She was EXCELLENT!!! I wanted to single her out as being awesome, because she was wonderful to us.) The employees in general were very friendly and polite, but not very good at their jobs. They were very poor communicators, with limited social skills. They also seemed to have no idea what they were supposed to be doing at any given time. They reminded me of teenage fast food workers. Friendly idiots. Your boarding process is agonizingly inefficient and cumbersome. Then, on top of that, your company was so incompetent as to completely botch their maintenance paperwork, forcing us to have to deplane and then REBOARD on a totally different plane, in an equally inefficient and cumbersome manner. And this happened AFTER we were already 1.5 hours delayed! And then, to add insult to injury, you had the audacity to want to charge us $2 for sodas. After all that prior BS, you could have had the decency to offer us a damn soft drink, for chrissakes. With every single customer that comes to you through Priceline or another similar service, you have an opportunity to win new loyalty. You had the opportunity to 'wow' me, and make me want to fly with you *every* time. And you could not have botched that opportunity worse if you had been *trying* to. (Well, maybe if you'd *crashed the plane* it would have been worse...) You have proven to me that paying the extra $40-50 to go with one of your more well-known competitors is TOTALLY worth it. I have an underseat item that I have taken on at least a dozen flights on frontier. Never had a problem. Even brought it to Denver from Minneapolis with no problem on this trip 10 days ago. Upon attempting to return to Minneapolis, even though the bag fit, they said Denver had different rules being the hub. Keep in mind that I have Flown with this underseat item out of Denver before. I did not intentionally bring an unqualified bag aboard it has been fine every other time. And to be charged $100 for a bag that has always been fine. This is most upsetting. I request a refund of my $100 for a bag that has always been fine previously as an underseat. In addition I wasn't the only one who brought the bag just fine from Minneapolis and was charged returning to Minneapolis. There was a whole line of people paying for bags that they brought to Denver as an underseat bit couldn't on the leg back. I was not the only one. read more

This has been one of my favorite airlines to fly within the states. Everyone is friendly from the gate agents, to the stewardesses, to the pilots. I even like that each plane has its own animal. Very cool! The only reason I've taken off a star is that I've recently learned that Frontier no longer offers free chocolate chip cookies on its flights. Wth Frontier?? One of my most memorable experiences flying with the airline has been free warm chocolate chip cookies and now they're gone. Good bye extra star. But seriously, Frontier is pretty decent. They're not the cheapest (Sun Country usually has that market if you're flying to one of their cities) but they're definitely the most fun to fly with. read more

It's just not worth flying with this airline. On the way out here they lost both of our bags. There was no person in the airport to assist us and we finally found a number on the wall to call. During this time the last remaining Frontier employee who was picking up unclaimed bags (read: lots of luggage they previously lost) who told me to just "hangup because it's useless to call". She was rude and seemed annoyed to have to deal with my missing bags. I had to come back to the airport at midnight to get the bags from the next flight in order too not miss out on the 2 days I had to visit my relatives in Wisconsin. The saving grace was that the person I talked to on the phone was at least pleasant to deal with. I had to get to the airport early as family I was traveling with left earlier. I wanted to check my bag and go through security to relax and read with some coffee. I wasn't allowed to do this because it was "more than 2 hours" before my flight. The rude woman at the counter after dragging her feet chit chatting with someone told me to go to a kiosk that then wouldn't work. I got back to the counter and she put a checked bag tag on my bag telling me to just take it though security and check it at the gate. At the gate I was then informed I couldn't do this or I would have to pay an additional fee. They finally acquiesced after I pointed out that it was one of their employees that told me to do this in the first place. Incompetence! On the return trip the weather in MSP was bad which is not their fault but they had really really poor planning which caused several hours delay. The plane was late arriving to start with. We boarded the plane and got the deicing process under way which was delayed and took about an hour. While we were deicing the gate crew WENT HOME as we were the last Frontier flight of the day. We started to taxi down to take off when the pilots noticed that they used too much fuel deicing! I would expect them to have seen that fuel issue coming in advance before we taxied out and planned accordingly. So we then needed to taxi back to the gate to refuel and then deice again. But the gate crew had gone home! At this point we were then stuck on the tarmac in an "active taxi-way" (read: sitting still) so we were forbidden to get to the bathroom. They gave us a granola bar though. They said they were bringing around water and never did. At some point our "active taxiway" (read: still sitting in the same spot not moving) went away and we were miraculously allowed to get up. We waited for the gate crew to come back FROM HOME and then got back to the gate. We refueled. We were about to go deice again when the person on the Frontier ground crew dropped his goggles on the top of the plane wing. A passenger noticed and then we were delayed waiting for someone to come back and get the goggles. That eventually happened and now we are about to re-deice again and hopefully leave soon. Sitting on the plane still... But someone finally brought some water around. Some people wanted to be rebooked and let off the airplane... You get what you pay for. No frills means no common courtesy either. I arrived three hours early to check in for flight because it was a blizzard. Even though they had an employee standing behind the counter, she refused to check me in until two hours before the flight. What is up with that? Employees are surly and not willing to go an extra inch just to be nice. I'd skip this airline unless you have no other option. Oh, and don't sit near the front. They keep the lights on even in the middle of the night, and all the galley cabinet banging is constant and you will not get any sleep. They don't have a delicate touch like flight attendants on full service airline overnight or early morning flights. And they like to chitchat and gossip amongst themselves, even about the other passengers. It was all just very awkward and frustrating. read more

Worst airline I've flown on. The staff is poorly trained and doesn't know what to do. Only one lady at the check in counter is capable of working the computer systems They ran out of paper at the check in counter and couldn't print my connecting boarding pass. Once to they gate they also had run out of paper and told me just to get it when I get to my connection. All employees have poor hygiene and are surprisingly rude. The baggage policy is ridiculous, charging for carry on bags. I would definitely spend the extra money to avoid the poor customer service, surprise charges, and overall cleanliness issue. read more

We have had hands down the worst travel experience for what was meant to be a spectacular vacation to Denver. Please see below for a timeline of events. -Email and text notification of flight delay at 5:47am day of flight -Prompted an immediate call to Frontier 5:47am. Representative notes flight delayed until 5:45pm same day. They stated that they could not get us on another flight with any other airline as Frontier is not affiliated with any other airlines. -Called Just Fly twice 6:00am, 7:41am, (where tickets were booked through) with no answer-hold time of over 40 minutes each call. Went to the airport for in person service. -7:09am Gate rep stated flight was being delayed due to mechanical issues until 5:45pm-that an email or text will go out of the flight will be moved up earlier in the day. -Email received from Frontier as leaving airport w/flight voucher for "inconvenience", no mention of flight cancellation 7:47am-flight vouchers are both invalid -Call to Frontier made at 12:03pm to ask for update as we had not received any texts, calls, or emails on status update. Was told by rep flight has been cancelled until the following day. Rep noted that they could get us on a same day flight to Colorado Springs with a 1.5 hour drive to Denver which would depart MPLS at 6:10pm. Frontier rep took all of my information, puts me on hold, comes back to tell me that "unfortunately, that was only for one person. We cannot get you both on this flight. You will have to wait until tomorrow at 11:45am to depart." We had planned this trip months in advance (in February), and were traveling to Red Rocks Amphitheater for 2 concerts, where we had purchased the VIP experience for. If we waited until the next day, we would miss the show. -Called Just Fly 12:21pm to discuss option to book with another airline. They could not refund our flight-Brittany (second passenger) called on her phone to Frontier to cancel our flight with Frontier so we could get out on any other airline same day through Just Fly with American Airlines. Her call was made at 12:35pm -Frontier offered us a refund for the flight that they cancelled with no mention of a cancellation fee. Frontier charged a cancellation fee via email at 12:45pm, and another at 1:35pm on a flight that Frontier cancelled -New flight with American Airlines was booked via phone through Just Fly via a frustrating phone call with a representative that could not speak English. The cost of the flight which now was departing at 6:21pm, arriving to Dallas Fort Worth at 8:59pm, with an hour and a half layover, had us departing from Dallas at 10:25pm and arriving in Denver at 11:29pm. We did not arrive to our hotel via an Uber until 1am. -The cancelled flight also cancelled our car rental reservation, which we then had to rebook on Friday 6/15 through Hotwire.com, as every rental company in the area was sold out due to a hail storm in the area on Wednesday. -WE MISSED AN ENTIRE DAY OF OUR VACATION-AND THE REST OF OUR VACATION SUFFERED FOR IT!!! The extremely long travel day, lack of communication and follow through with Frontier absolutely ruined our trip. We spent the next 2 days completely exhausted, sore, and jet lagged, not to mention unable to spend money saved for our vacation as it was spent to rebook through another airline. read more
