He was very attentive and patient with me but most of all he got me excited about running. He even helped me by calling another store for the show. Didn't know what to expect when I walked in but man I was impressed. They measured my foot and my arch, shit was impressive. I wanted the Nike Frees but they didn't have my size, so that is why I knocked off one star. Other than that hey had a good selection, some loud ass colors for shoes nowadays but whatever. I bought new NB Sure-Laces for my NB 990s before my trip to Eastern EU in August. After only 2 wks after returning from my run in Kaunas, Lithuania I noticed the left lace had completely "exploded" into a fluff of hundreds of tiney threads. Never seen anything like and have no idea what could have caused it. Upon my return home this week, I took the lace to Frontrunners and the guy was going to replace them but had to speak to the Mgr first. The Mgr tells me I have to drive all the way home and bring in the other lace before he could replace it. I asked him if he was serious (wasting all that gas and time for one shoe lace) and he said yes. I paid for the new laces and left NEVER to return again for such stupidity. I contacted New Balance and they saw the photo of the lace and had no explanation for it BUT sent me a free set of laces to replace them. (They didn't ask me to mail them the laces.) They need a new Mgr that knows something about customer care. read more

After being fitted, I went home, ran in my new shoes and was disappointed by the fit. Bryan, the manager, was supremely helpful. I brought in the shoes, they re-measured me and had me try on some other pairs that worked much better and offered a no-hassle exchange. The entire experience was stress-free and pleasurable. Top notch in product selection and customer service. I have been buying running and cross training shoes here for almost 8 years now. Why? They take their time with you and match you with the right shoe. Oddly enough after 8 years my luck had run out with the Asics Nimbus - my knees were a mess after a month of running in them ... I admit, I went to FrontRunners to try on shoes with no intention of buying. I thought shoes would be too expensive there, so I just wanted to get my shoe size and order the shoes I wanted online. When I got to FrontRunners, the staff greeted me with big smiles - big enough that I felt guilty for not wanting to buy anything. The woman who helped me was incredibly nice. She measured my feet, brought out the shoes, and didn't pressure me at all. In fact, I told her I just wanted to try them on and wasn't ready to buy, and her smile didn't fade. She even told me I could jog outside on the sidewalk if I wanted to get a better feel for the shoes. I left without buying the shoes, but when I went online to compare prices, guess what, FrontRunners had the cheapest price!! PLUS, I had a $10 off coupon from the LA Times. I was in this great store and into a new pair of Nike Vomero 5s within 5 minutes....and happy about it. Really friendly staff...Shay was great. No hassle....the Nikes were exactly as promised before putting them on....extremely comfortable. I was experiencing arch pain in my favorite trampoline class and was afraid that I'd have to quit. The staff measured my foot with some fancy contraption and determined I have high arches (my feet always looked kinda flat to me, but apparently not!) The staff is super friendly and I was helped by Alex, who took the time to measure my feet, have me walk a little and then took out a couple pairs of shoes. I left with a pair of Asics that felt awesome. They are a bit pricey, but most running shoes are, and they did not have any deals. Since this was my first time there, they kept a record of what I bought so that I know next time that I come in. I had been in the market for some new running shoes so I decided to go online to see what stores would be on my way. You see, I was working down in Anaheim and going up to Pacific Palisades for a site visit. Figured I had some time to kill, and this would be perfect to go shopping for shoes. Front Runners was one of the locations that came up on my search and I saw some of the great reviews so I figured I'd stop in and check it out. As I walked in, I was greeted immediately, which is always nice. I made my way over to the men's shoes section and saw all the selections and had no idea where to start. That's when David came over to me, sensing my dilemma and proceeded to ask me questions to determine what exactly I was looking for. He measured my feet and had me walk around a little bit to get a sense of what my feet do when I walk. Now, i have wide feet, and I've been purchasing shoes a little bit bigger to compensate for that. David told me how his feet are the same way, and told me how New Balances would be the perfect fit for my situation. He went to the back and came back out with a pair of shoes that fit perfectly! I generally wear anywhere from a 9.5 to 10, and this pair was a 9 and it fit perfectly! He had me go outside and jog a little bit just to get a feel and they were amazing! Great support, lightweight, couldn't ask for anything better! While I was testing out the shoes, another customer asked him a question and was in obvious need of assistance, more so than I was at that time. He kindly excused himself briefly while I was trying out my shoes to assist the other customer and came back to me when the other customer was satisfied. He was very attentive, sincere and knowledgeable about the products and he made my experience that much simpler. I ended up purchasing a couple pairs of socks as well and again, was very helpful in selecting a pair that he knew that I would love. All-in-all, this only took up maybe 20 mins, which I was quite surprised at how efficient and helpful he was. I would definitely recommend this store. They have a great selection, great and knowledgeable staff, and I picked a great time to go because they had sales throughout the store (added bonus!) I know a lot of you are out looking for a decent pair of shoes and have probably noticed that it can be a bit pricey, but any professional running shoe store, prices would be a bit high, but you get what you pay for and I find no problem with spending a little extra money on something that can help prevent you from experiencing pain on your next run! read more

I'm not a runner and I'm barely a walker but I want a decent pair of walking shoes. My old ones finally fell apart (after 10 years) and this was the first new pair I'd bought since. With no idea where to begin, I came to FrontRunners and Anthony was amazing as he listened to what hurts when I walk, checked out how I walk, and then went through 8 pairs of shoes with me until I was satisfied that I'd got the best I could. This is the only place to get fitted for sport shoes, as the entire staff is well trained in fitting and they take their time. Unless you know the exact style you want, it's worth your while to try on a few alternatives because you may find something even more comfortable. Only once did I bring a pair back for not fitting quite right (out of probably 15pair over the years) and it was no problem. Very professional. Small selection of cute sportswear in their adjoining space, and good selection of socks. Wish they would branch out into casual street shoes! read more

Ah, the bliss of running shoes. I am a mother of two girls, 4 and 5. I'm a couture momma, meaning I wear couture shoe's that are cute. Not comfortable. My feet ache by the end of the day. I am very active outside of my everyday jobs though. So when it comes to shoes pertaining to exercise I want high quality, comfortable shoes. FrontRunners provides excellent service. The workers there first take your size and price range you are looking to buy in. They, then examine your feet and how you walk. Pertaining to how you walk, they will pull shoes that fit your feet the best. After you find a shoe that looks and feels good they have you go for a test run. (indoor track) Make sure you are comfortable with the shoes you are purchasing. In the end of the day I have comfortable high quality somewhat couture shoe's. Not only do they amazing, but on days I what to wear gym clothes or sweat clothes they aren't hideous, they compliment my outfit! read more

I have been buying shoes at Frontrunner for a long time and have always found the service good, but my last experience there was just fantastic. About six weeks ago, I bought a Garmin 610 GPS watch at this store. Unfortunately, it never charged correctly. I finally got around to returning it this past weekend (still in the original box, unused). Niles, the Manager, helped me. As I shopped for some shoes, Niles tested the watch, found it was not working exactly as I reported and got on the phone with the so-called customer service department of Garmin. They gave him the run-around testing various aspects of the watch to find that, as he and I both knew, it was not charging. Rather than simply give him a return authorization, however, they wanted him to fax a bunch of the info to them and give the watch back to me to ship to them at my cost for replacement (assuming they found the same defect we reported). Instead of making me go through this brain damage, however, NIles spoke with his buyer and said that they would just take the watch back and deal with Garmin directly, sparing me the ordeal. Most stores today would have sent me on my way to deal with returning the watch to Garmin directly, but Niles was so disturbed that Garmin wanted me to ship the watch to them at my cost he took it unto himself to resolve the situation for me and I am very thankful. Customer service is not really revealed in how you are dealt with when all goes well, but rather when you have a problem. I will gladly pay more to shop at a local store where I am known and appreciated as a customer and where I do not have to speak to someone in Bangalore who rarely can do more than apologize for their inability to assist me in any meaningful way. I came into the store today searching for a pair of running shoes and I was so pleased with the service I was compelled to leave them their due. Great set-up and shoe selection. I was impressed with the knowledge of athletic footwear by the sales associate and I ended up getting fitted for a new pair of Asics. I love them! I just took them for a run today and the arch support has made a huge difference on my knees. I've had problems with my knees for as long as I can remember and I've never quite felt as comfortable in my own feet as I do know! My sales associate had a Japanese name (mitzui?) and was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable that I truly enyojed spending money updating my out dated pair. She was very patient, attentative, and had tons of energy. Overall I had a great experience getting fitted. Keep up the great work guys! read more

Not only their stock but their excellent customer service. their staff product knowledge is a plus. I love when they show me new product, I may not be ready to purchase them at the moment but I like to know where else is out there. Staff always helpful and smiling. All I can say is wow. I was drawn in with their custom insole machine and good reviews. You have to make an appointment to get that done I was told by a friendly staff member but I learned you cod just walk in as I was sitting there three walk ins were assisted without appointments which is fine, that's not my complaint. My complaint is that the man helping me was too busy answering the phone and greeting people to assist me. I'm a Marathon runner, a real athlete who expects professionalism that I'm paying for. This person was so distracted, he gave me the most uncomfortable styles to try on. Plainly he didn't know what he was doing. I really needed some advice as I have issues going on and I was prepared to spend whatever $ but after trying on 3 pairs he lost interest and stopped helping me! I thought he was going to get a different pair in the back and he was getting some shoes for another person but didn't even come back over. I've never seen anything like it. I was polite and nice, uncalled for. I saw the manager speaking to another customer who was unhappy with her shoes she bought there a week ago because they were hurting her and the manager was not helpful. All in all, if you are a real runner or care about quality product and service don't go to this store Oh and valet cost $6.00 for my waste of time read more
