Horrible service I drove for an hour to get to this place because my doctor sent me here to get special shoes for my insoles but when I got there, I had to wait outside on the sun until someone eventually came to see me. The guy who eventually appeared was very rude and told me that I only had 4 minutes to buy because they close from 2 to 3! I was going to buy 7 pairs of shoes, that's more than $1,500 that I will spend somewhere else! I should have read their reviews before coming here. No wonder why so many people complains! It's always been really hard to find shoes for myself. I just moved back from DC the day before. I was stressed the F out and not only did the first two stores not have shoes that fit my wide feet. The people working were rude and made me feel like they just wanted me out of the store. I wasn't rude at all. I was working with them. Chago made this experience amazing. I walked out feeling like " wow I actually got shoes that feel good and I feel like there're good people in the world" There were only two people working. And it looked like there was a rush. But chago was precise and patient with me while also attending to other costumers. Didn't mine spending over 200 on shoes because It was an actual great experience and I was actually helped. Fancy store front with nice shoes and good selection of equipment. Very poor service and not a well-run store. They ignored me and my wife to serve groups of white people arriving after us. Multiple staff walked by without offering to help us find or try on shoes. We waited 20 minutes on a quiet Sunday trying to get help and finally left. Probably a good store if you know exactly what you want and can get someone's attention. But otherwise cannot recommend. read more

I've been going to FrontRunners since the early '90s. They were the first store I knew that was SERIOUS about running before all these other specialty running footwear stores opened up in the greater Los Angeles area. I would actually see people running outside the store and around the parking lot to see if they liked the shoes they were about to buy. Test drive sneakers?? Awesome. This store was probably the only reason you'd find me on that stretch of San Vicente Blvd... on a weekend... in the middle of the day. Back then they sold Air Jordans and other Nike basketball shoes. I was all bout that back then. Not so much anymore these days. I've bought some great pairs of shoes from them that what now, the modern-day sneaker head call collector pairs. And I always got em on sale at FrontRunners. I bought Nike Huarache runners in the white/carolina blue colorway for around $50 after taxes. My friends were able to buy Nike Ar Max Uptempos in the white/black/teal OG colorway at somewhere around half of the retail cost. There was a time when my dad's coworker was looking for the "Rolls-Royce"of running shoes and it was a pair of very expensive New Balance. I wanna say they were near $200 and back then that was just unheard of for a pair of shoes. Well this was the guy's retirement gift to himself. My dad asked me if I had an idea where he could find it and I told him FrontRunners & I even gave him 2 of those birthday discount certificates FrontRunners mail you every year and my dad's friend was so stoked to not only find the New Balances but to save on it and have FrontRunners order the other color he wanted. That guy bought TWO of those suckers! Wow... I don't remember the model # of those specific New Balances but I was aware of how much they were and always bypassed them. They were all grey and were super cushioned running shoes. I've bought Adidas shell toes in a white/navy colorway here and found a matching Adidas sweatshirt in their clothing store across the way. Good stuff there. Only quality goods. These days they are concentrated on carrying running & training related footwear, socks & accessories. I bought my last pair of Nike Structure Triax there and I still run on them to this day. They've lasted me a couple years now. FrontRunners is a very heavy proponent of Asics running footwear. They tried to sell me on a pair and although they were SO comfortable, my foot just seemed meant to be in a pair of Nikes. And believe me, I own a lot of Nikes... But next time I need a pair of running shoes, I think I'm gonna go with Asics & for sure I'm gonna need the services of the good people of FrontRunners in Brentwood. Parking is in private lot. During busier times of the day, you need to get a ticket from the parking guy upon entrance into the lot. Enter on San Vicente just in front of the NY Bagel Co. There is also Sandbags for sandwiches (if it's still there) & other merchants including a florist & vitamin shop. Purchases grant you validation so parking is free. read more

Went to the New Balance store in Torrance and felt like there was not enough options. Went on yelp and found this place, in the deep unknown lands of Los Angeles. So we took a field trip and headed to FrontRunners. Dave greeted us at the door and I notified him that we needed all the help, and that he gave us. This guy was friendly, super helpful, knowledgable and honest. All the Ken's and Karen's of Brentwood should give this guy/store a break and just let them do their job, because they know what they're doing and are honestly just trying their best to help you. read more

For years I have used superfeet as my orthodontic insert. I would always experience different foot and back issues due to putting such high miles on my feet. I explained my issues to Adam and he recommended either the over the counter or custom Surefeet. Lucky for me I choose the custom. I purchased the custom insoles a week before the Safer at home order went into effect. Since the first lock down I've put around 80 miles and over 500,000 steps per month. I have to say that Adam really cares, he spent time scanning my feet and also observing my gate both running and walking. First off, great selection and the prices are the same anywhere. The store is aesthetically pleasing, spacious, and the staff are friendly. My only complaint is the line BUT that's because of COVID so that's not really an issue. I have been consistently racially profiled at this establishment on each of my visits! A friend of mine went this past Saturday 3/25 and was also racially profiled. Despite living in the neighborhood and frequenting its neighboring stores, I have been followed through this store, questioned about my intentions (when my only desire was to find a nice, quality pair of new running shoes), and treated with little to no respect or kindness. It is very disappointing and discouraging that in 2023 this is still a problem, despite the other stores in the area being awesome. It is completely isolated to Frontrunners! Beware!! read more

Today I went there wanting to try on some walking shoes and shoes for tennis. I walked up at 1:15 after parking in the back lot and was told I would not make it in before their lunch break at 2. For at least 15 years I have purchased all my tennis shoes from them. I went there before Christmas and it was also awkward but purchased a gift. I assumed it was omicron awkward but now I know it's just a store that doesn't care about their customers. Good luck. I will never be back. read more

Service: top-notch, friendly, extremely helpful and very hands-on. They tested my foot, asked what I needed my new sneakers for, listened to my input (regarding color and needs), then recommended a few pair of shoes for me to try. I have to say it again, the service is awesome. These salespeople are like the crew at REI, they listen therefore you walk away a satisfied customer. I am a nurse that works 13 hours shifts so I am on my feet all night. I also work out and run in my neighborhood. The girl that helped me had me try 6 different pair of shoes. I ended up picking out 2 perfect pair of Brooks running shoes and some pretty amazing socks. I HIGHLY recommend FrontRunners to anyone that needs a good pair of running, walking, hiking, or "nursing" shoe. I LOVE my sneakers. My feet love them too. Well - it was a four star review til they made an error on our purchase -- three times. The Check-out person overcharged us. So, next day, we call them up, spoke to a manager, gave her our card information again, and she sent it through. But... to my chagrin, we discover that she has messed it up, too. Had to a call again, spoke to another manager, who had to re-submit the purchase a third time -- this time, presumably with the correct amount. What had been a very positive experience has staggered toward the finish line. Dayum. But there is Good: Really strong good impressions here. Walking in, you can pretty much tell that this place is serious and chill about shoes. The Sizer Machine looks pretty intense, and it is. Your feet get examined and they folks there help determine what your feet are craving. It's busy, and there's almost not enough clerks to help. And yet, those that are there, are magicians. They can handle a few people at once - and all the customers are pretty relaxed and understanding about the interplay that these Frontrunner employees must deal with. The guy we worked with knows feet and shoes. He used to work for one of the shoe companies (the shoe company I also seem to get my shoes from, in fact.) Yet, he's impartial. He's looking for the right fit - and in our case, he showed us both the shoes on sale and those that were full price. I appreciated the opportunity to really scope out the choices. One note about the, uh, foot-traffic. It felt chaotic checking out (as I've updated above). And, we walked out wearing the new shoes and carrying a box, but somehow I wound up with a box containing a completely different pair of shoes. An extra pair of some completely different shoes. After having a quick snack next door we realized the mixup that we had two boxes not one, so we walked them back into Front Runners. And - wait for it - now there was nobody at the Checkout so I had to go flag down my sales-guy to let him know. Very strange. I think they need another person or two on the floor. I enjoyed shopping here, and we got a great pair. I probably would return, but given the chaos get the dang receipt fixed for THIRD TIME, etc, gives me pause. Unfortunately, I was not able to experience the store because they closed half an hour earlier than the posted hours, and would not let me in even though there were multiple people in the store 10 minutes before the advertise closing time. I called 4-5times throughout the day with no answer each time. when I did arrive, someone came out to speak to me and did not once apologize for closing early or even attempt help me. They explained that they cannot answer the phone when they are busy, but that does not explain why they could not answer at 5:45 when they had apparently already closed since it was so slow and should have been open until six. Long due for a pair of new running shoes. Went straight to FrontRunners because I had such a great experience there last time. MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT. They were overcrowded and understaffed, and when I finally flagged someone down to help me, he didn't seem to know much about running at all. I don't know if running stores are allowed to require that their employees run (hiring discrimination laws always baffle me), but they sure should, because it's pretty frustrating to walk into a running store willing to drop $100-$150 on a pair of sneakers and encountering a completely helpless staff. I ended up just buying the exact same pair of shoes I bought last time, but this time on roadrunnersports.com for cheaper! Despite my recent one star experience, I still give FrontRunners three stars because I know there are knowledgeable employees there somewhere. As a group fitness instructor, I am constantly on the lookout for supportive and comfortable cross-training shoes. Ordering online is always a gamble, so I prefer to try shoes on in person. After not having any luck at Sport Chalet, I went to Front Runners. While they specialize in running shoes, they have a small selection of other specialty sports shoes The day I went they were slammed. Despite waiting for service for quite sometime, once I got the attention of a sales person they were helpful in making suggestions. Thankfully I found a shoe I liked.
