Once again we were very pleased with the work done by Steve Little at Frost and Kretsch. We had a small back early last week and had great service from Steve before so we call Frost & Kretsch again. Steve came out and cleared the drain that afternoon. Saturday came around and there was another backup, this time it was more significant. Steve showed up on a Saturday with a smile and great attitude. He brought down the snake and went to work. This time it took a little more elbow grease as whatever was stuck in there had gotten wedged in the main, but he made a pathway. UPDATE! BEWARE! After my last review they sent someone out who snaked my drain in my basement again. Two days later after the second snake, my basement was flooded again! I called the company and the owner answered and said he would not come back to my house to fix the issue that he was paid to fix unless I took down my review, wrote a good review and then signed an NDA. The owner told me that I signed a recite saying if anything was found in my sewer line then my warranty was voided (branches were found in the line which is very normal), and they basically didn't own me anything. Mind you my basement was flooding for two weeks before they sent someone out the second time and I had called the company multiple times, and no one ever told me that. In fact, after the plumber they sent the second time finished the second snaking he said, "if u have any issues just call back because your still under the 30-day warranty." When I told the owner that he said you need to read what you signed. I told him i didnt remember signing something saying that..... ITS ON THE RECIEPT SO DO NOT SIGN THE RECIPT WITH OUT THEM SHOWING YOU THE entirety OF THE REPIET. I was only shown a small portion with the signature line and the price at the bottom of the receipt, so I never saw that when I signed. The plumber literally told me he pulled branches out of my sewer line prior to me signing the receipt, so why would I sign a receipt that said my warranty would have been voided. The receipt is on the iPad and he zoomed into the signature line so that I could more easily sign it and I never ever saw that my warranty would've been avoided for branches being pulled out or I would've never signed the receipt. The job was done. All I had to do was pay there was nothing they could've done if I didn't sign the receipt. Very sneaky company.!!! I thought about taking his offer because I was soooooo tired of my basement flooding plus I planned on taking the review down anyways after they fixed the issue causing the flooding. But I decided against taking his offer because if I sign an NDA and the problem was still not fixed, I contractually couldn't do anything about it. I feel like either way my money was lost. Also, I decided against it because the owner started saying stuff like "it could be this, or could be that...." like huh?! why would u guys not check for "this or that" when the guys came the second time after not sending someone out for two weeks! the owner was super rude. just don't use them! waiste of time and money!!!! read more

BEWARE!!! Hired to install a new sump pump with alarm and a water back up. After some scheduling misunderstandings they came to do the job. The work done was actually very good. The tech did a wonderful job. However when it came to the sump pump alarm they installed a $20 alarm instead of the alarm that was suppose to come with the sump pump. When I called the owner about it he stated that the sump pump company doesn't make an alarm. I quickly sent him a picture of the manual that came with the sump pump. I never heard from him again. Our sump pump was shooting water up. We assumed we needed to have the line replaced (because 2 other neighbors had to do this last year) but when I called and spoke to Dave.... he said it could be just as simple as a clogged pipe. I appreciated the fact that he recommended trying to snake for less than $200 instead of just taking my money to have the line replaced at a cost of over $3,500. Anyway, they came out the next day to snake. Unfortunately, the pipe wasn't clogged but had to be replaced. As any smart shopper, I called around for estimates to discover Frost & Kretch had competitive prices. I respected this company from the beginning since they recommended trying to snake first to try and save us thousands of dollars, so we hired them. Our main concern was having the job done correctly. They called Miss Dig and pulled permits which not all companies included in their price. From the beginning I spoke to Dave who I believe is one of the owners was nice, prompt and professional and a pleasure to deal with as well as his crew. This morning they showed up on time and Brian who was the leader on the job, explained what they were doing as they went along (which we appreciated) not to mention that they cleaned up nicely afterwards especially compared to my neighbor who had the exact same repair done by another company last year. Had them out on Thursday July 30th for a clogged toilet. Kevin was very professional and did a great job. I also wanted to have a laundry tub faucet and shut off valves replaced for my water meter, which he did not have time to do all in the same day. He said he didn't do his own scheduling the office people took care of that, he would let them know so we could schedule something. The following Monday August 3rd my basement drain was backing up. I called and spoke with Tammy the office manager who said she would call it over and someone would call to let me know about the drain and to schedule the remainder of the work. She apparently didn't do scheduling either. Didn't hear back from anyone that day so I called back on Tuesday morning. Tammy told me she wrote up the drain and put it on someone's desk. They should be calling me within the next few hours. It's now 5 days later and still haven't heard from them. Not great communication. Won't be using them or referring them in the future. Update: received a call from Mike on August 10th to let me know he saw my negative review here and to apologize for the lack of communication. He also did not charge me for snaking the toilets which was very nice. He gave me his personal cell phone number should I need to schedule work in the future. I appreciate the follow up. read more

I literally NEVER write reviews. But these people deserve it. We hired these people telling them there was a baby wipe clogging our drain. The guy came and claimed he couldn't find anything and cleared whatever was in the way for $230. A week later the clog started again. I called them back and they said it would be another $230 because apparently baby wipes aren't under their "warranty", even though they never took it out to begin with. I called another company the same day and they took it out for less than $100. Waste of money and time never trust these people they are trash scammers!!!!! read more

Excellent!! I called just for an appointment at 3:30 in the afternoon today (Monday December 17). I told the owner it wasn't an emergency. I had a leak under the kitchen sink probably pertaining to the disposal. He asked me if I was home now? Yes!! We had Frost & Kretsch out to our rental property to resolve a water leak with a dishwasher. The technician did not complete the work that he said he finished. The result was continuing water leaking into the subfloor creating damage in the kitchen. When I called the owner to notify of the incomplete work of the technician (Not to ask for any compensation) I received a rude response that the technician swore he did his job completely and that "It is not their fault that I have lazy tenants who must have just started using the dishwasher again". When faced with a serious sewer problem at our home caused by a bad mistake made by the gas company, I relied on F&K to come out and fix our issues. The gas company contractors did not make the job or the interaction on site very easy but Brandon of F&K handled the situation like a true professional and took care of the situation, repaired the sewer line and cleaned up as good as possible, all in a day! We had a WONDERFUL experience today with Frost & Kretsch Plumbing who came highly referred by a coworker. John was very professional, accommodating, and well prepared. He replaced an old worn out water heater, updated everything, bringing it to code. I asked him if it was possible to take care of a few other things and surprisingly, he had all of the equipment and parts needed for a job he hadn't planned for. The final cost was within the price quoted over the phone- even with the small extras he did! You don't find this honesty and accuracy of a sight-unseen quote with any other companies. (At least I haven't). (Remember to look in their web page for coupons. I didn't notice a $50 coupon until tonight. . But they gave us an awesome deal anyway). John was meticulous in his cleanup, wiping everything down, and even in a "worked-in" work space, he still cleaned up the area and all he worked on . I was impressed! I would HIGHLY recommend this team to anyone and everyone. We were VERY pleased. (John even tolerated my 3 curious cats that I couldn't keep upstairs while he worked. Call me crazy, but my experience with this company was rather disappointing, based upon the mostly positive reviews here. First I tried to post a Google review, but for some reason I couldn't, so I'm posting this Yelp! review. I hired this company last June for the first time after seeing that they are a highly rated company, they were the first to show up on my Google search for "best plumbers near me." I live in Warren, but I don't know which location it was that I was dealing with. I needed a new dual utility sink and faucet installed in my basement. I was pleased to hear from the guy on the phone that they could have a technician at my house that day! I had already removed the old sink, which made an already easy job even easier. I was told the technician was to arrive at my house between 1 and 3 pm. At 2:00 I called to see if the technician was on his way. All the guy said was, "He'll be there." So I went to a friend's house nearby to pass the time while I waited, since my day was on hold until the guy showed up and finished the job. Finally he shows up at a little after 3:30, with no apology for being so late or even an explanation. Once I started talking to him, I found his demeanor to be nosy, arrogant and rude. My personal dislike of the guy aside, he completed the job very quickly for $590. Ouch! As I said, it was an easy job, as he made it very clear to me that it was. Unfortunately, I was not able to thread my plastic siphon hose for cleaning my turtle tank onto the new brass threads on the new faucet. I called the company back but the guy on the phone was no help. At least a month went by before I tried threading a common garden hose with a metal fitting onto the new brass threads. To my astonishment it threaded on perfectly! I threaded it on and off again to smooth out the new brass threads. Then I tried once again to thread the plastic siphon hose on and hallelujah it also threaded on perfectly. Would I hire this company again? Yes, so long as they don't send the same guy, whose name I won't mention here. read more
