Frosty's is such an authentic place to grab a burger or malt shake. Like the old days, the atmosphere is a quaint drive up diner with jukebox tunes of the 60s. They make a great burger, fries and milkshake. There's only one of its kind, no franchises or other locations, so they gotta be delicious to have been in the same spot for decades. read more

this place is a joke. the owner/cashier guy was a total d when we walked in cause my husband was carrying our 6 lb dog on his shoulder,.. then when my husband took dog bk out to truck we ordered and they threw the onion rings on top of an open hot dog package and it was a mess so we took it bk in and asked them to make a new one and package it right and the guy/owner threw the bag bk at us and said "there's your food" all because my daughter said the word sh** and he said she was cussing at him, she was not. so then I walked in to ask for a refund and he said maybe, maybe not. Their being closed Mondays throws me off but I extremely understand anyone being closed Sundays for sure. I really hope they stay in business. Not a bad place to stop on, but probably wouldn't go out of my way for. It's on par or a little lower than a sonic at a much higher price. The inside could use a cleaning as I watched dust fall off the vent a few times. It was an experience though and that's what our family enjoys about these places. Given the choice I would have gone again because. As to the shakes, unfortunately after our food the line was so long and they were so backed up we didn't get a chance to order. Little sad to be making this update, but I have to take my rating down a bit due to food poisoning. Had the pimento cheese sandwich Friday for lunch, because I heard it was pretty good. It was decent if not a little odd tasting, but my experience with pimento cheese is pretty minimal so I thought it was normal. I've been hesitant to order it for quite some time now, since it's a random item they likely don't sell often. My hesitation was right, because their pimento cheese sandwich gave me food poisoning. Almost immediately afterwards my stomach was rattling up a storm. The following day was a gastrointestinal nightmare. One of the worst I've ever had. I get it, "why did you think it was a great idea to order something rarely ordered on their menu?!" And maybe that's a fair rule for quality at most places, but that shouldn't mean you're served something that went bad. I'll still make my way to frostys in the future, it just might take me a bit of time to feel okay with it. Word to the wise: Don't order items here out of the regular burgers, fries, etc. read more

So I love this place. Forget about that fact that it was probably built well before Eisenhower's Federal Highway Act (and probably hasn't had an update outside of the kitchen since), and focus on the ambiance. It's a hole-in-the-wall-piece-of-Americana my friend! It's what the old drive-ins were and still should be all about and you won't get "the queeze" that you get from eating at Sonic...is that even meat? Don't get me wrong...this place is gruff. Don't expect a fancy schmancy dine-in experience. Just know that you will get good service. Don't expect to be coddled by any stretch of the imagination...the man is there to get your order, give you your food and move on. It's not an interview or a date and he's not trying to sell you a car so get over yourself. If it's not too busy, he might entertain a joke or two. I actually make it a point to see if I can get him to crack a smile. If he appears to be grumpy or short or sarcastic with you, it's probably because you truly are a millennial (if that made you mad, it confirms that you are). Just smile, act like you understand sarcasm and know that you are about to get a great burger (no frills here, just your typical solid drive-in fare, but made with fresh ingredients and REAL beef). If you are smart, get yourself a delicious shake, float or malt too. So, if you are ready to give it a try but you're worried about ordering still, I will give you one tip...don't ask for ketchup on your burger. Personally, I like the fact that they will tell you no because he thinks it ruins the meat. He is right! Would you put ketchup on a prime steak? Nope. And if you did, you are in fact gross. So if you don't like being told no or being called gross or disgusting (by the way, you might still be a millennial), then be sure not to ask for the ketchup on your burger. Just get your ketchup on the side and ruin your burger where he can't see it, but don't insult the man's meat! read more

When my best friend and I were in college, we'd eat here once a week. Now anytime we're back in the area, this is our go-to for lunch or dinner. PROS: -The food is delicious. There's nothing on the menu that isn't amazing and they have crinkle fries which I prefer but can never have since no one else sells them. -Their homemade root beer is the best around. Unfortunately the last time I was up there they'd run out of gallon jugs, so I couldn't bring any home, but I'll be buying them in bulk next chance I get. -Family owned and operated -They play music from the 20th century to make it feel even more authentic CONS: -Getting back out onto Fort Worth Drive is kind of a nightmare, but that's no fault of theirs, more a heads up to you. read more

My husband and I have come here many times over the past few years, and I would easily count it as one of my favorite restaurants in Denton. Everyone talks about the burgers, but you have got to try the hot dogs there. They are out of this world! The hot dogs are thick and juicy and the buns are substantial enough that they don't fall apart when covered in chili, but light enough that they are delightfully toasty and crisp. With chili or without, these hot dogs are just amazing. Mr. Frosty also has some of the best tots in town. I'm normally a fry type of gal, but I will ALWAYS get the tots when I come to Frosty's. Crispy on the outside with a nice chewy texture on the inside-- yum. Also delicious with a generous topping of chili cheese. We've also had some really great milkshakes there, but my husband absolutely raves about the root beer here. If you love root beer the way he does, you should definitely try a mug while you're here! Best part about this place? It's so affordable! You get some killer food at a super reasonable price and that's pretty hard to beat. read more

Worst customer service ever. This was mine and my 2 sons first time here. We walked in and were looking at the menu only to be rushed to order by the man at the register. I was holding my 5 year old so he could see and the same man said " we dont act like that here what do you want to eat". My son was not even saying anything to warrant a remark like that. When we got our food my son spilled his drink and was upset and kind of whining because he had broken the cup, the same man said they would clean it up after I offered to clean it and he said he would give him a new drink. He proceeds to make a new drink and tells my 5 year old who is very shy to come get. My son refuses and the man says to me " come on and get it mom since it's your fault he acts like this". Hamburger was above average. It had a unique smoked flavor. Cherry shake hit the spot but pass on french fires and fried pie . I'm deducting points for cleanliness. The cook was eating a bag of chips while cooking the customers orders. None of the tables were cleaned between customers and the napkin holders had a layer of dust. That's not what got me though. Went in today and the owner was at the from taking care of orders. Wasn't quite sure how to order 'properly' and he started poking fun at me. seemed innocent at first so i let it slide as a joke. Order came up and he started up again. Was definitely not impressed with the way in which the owner of the restaurant presented himself. Aside from him, my past experience with the employees was always positive. Maybe the owner needs to learn from those that know how to do what they're doing in that diner... On another note, the ''Chick Fillet'' is not worth it. more breading than anything. Very saddening sandwich. I'd of left hungry had i not ordered a mint oreo shake as well. read more
