    Tots and cheeseburger
    David N.

From the second I stepped in this place, I was taken back 50 years to a better time. I was back at Lou's or Bill' drive in, or maybe an old DQ. What's not to love? The cheeseburger was juicy and veggies were fresh. Tots hot and crispy. Dr. Pepper was tasty and had the good ice! What are you waiting for? Go!

For a very long time I've gone to this place and either gotten the steak sandwich like you see here or a burger and every time I go, the guy who I think is the owner is always greeting. Everyone that walks in has very friendly and polite. Today when I went to go get this steak sandwich, it seemed like a very young crew that was in there but no big deal because I knew the steak sandwich was going to be delicious just like it is. But the guy who took my order didn't say hello. Didn't really do anything and it took him a few moments to get to the counter because he was too busy. Joking around with his coworkers. I let that one roll off my back, grab my drink and sat down and wait for my food and as I'm waiting the next group of people come in and he's very attentive and giving warm greetings and everything. Consistency is key especially when it comes to people coming in and patronizing the business. For the guy that took my order, I say to you please be attentive to everyone that comes in and just give a warm greeting. That's one of the main things that keeps me coming to Mr. Frost is over any of the other burger joints in the city. Please work on this.

I'm still a huge fan of Frosty's. I don't know if it's the warm welcome from the charming man in apron taking orders. Or if it's the cute jukebox and simple seating but this place just feels good. I love the fish sandwich so much that I don't typically try anything else, but this time I tried the fried burrito and it was satisfying. Fish sandwich, fries, large soda and burrito came in about 20 bucks. This is great quick food at fair pricing and relaxing atmosphere.

Good stuff. Old school. The burger was exceptional, as were the tots and chili cheese dog. The black cow is also divine. Service is friendly, and the place has a retro feel ... especially the outside bathrooms.

Great Food and Fast Service - With a place like this there's no reason to ever go to a chain fast food restaurant. Tater tots were crispy. Hotdog was delicious and the homemade root beer was out of this world. I'd come here just for that.

Ate here for the first time today. Been around since 1954! It's really cool because it looks like it's all the original tile and tables etc! Super nice guy working the counter, owners son I think. Fast service! It gets very busy so go early! We had the old fashion double cheese burger added Mayo and mustard, fries and famous root beer! All delicious!!! Definitely going back and trying more stuff.

    Hickory burger n tots!

Old school drive-in. Perfect place for a malt. Hot dogs are great. 4 star review because of their odd hours.

One of the best burgers in Denton. Shakes are really good. Fries are great. Take my kids here and they always love it.

    Are y'all just closed temporary?

Yes. Just for this week. Back at it on Tuesday

Can you tape a note to your door so people will know? It would be very helpful. 🙂

I’ll be sure to do that the next time. Sorry it Was an impromptu closing with my father in law being careflighted to Harris Methodist. Possibly a for sale sign taped to the door by summers end

It's 1230 on Saturday, March 26 and it looks like you're closed I hope you're not closed permanently😞?

We are closed today for a family event. Be back on Tuesday.

So it says that y'all are open until 10 right now but a couple of weeks ago my girlfriend and I came out on a Thursday evening and nobody was there so now I call before making the drive and nobody is answering. Do y'all just leave whenever?

No they are just always busy

Are they closed on Sundays now?

Yes. We are now closed on sundays and mondays.

We've come the last two Sunday afternoons because google & yelp say you're open, are you closed on Sundays now?

My apologies Kasey. We are short staffed right now so we have been closing on sundays to get a little rest and see our families. Always a good idea to call.

Good morning do y'all have catfish shrimp or any kind of seafood and do y'all sell steak fingers and if so are they breaded or the chicken fried steak…

We have a fried fish sandwich as well as a shrimp dinner with fries. The steak fingers are breaded, chicken fried steak fingers with cream gravy

Idk if there is an actual portal to NYC installed in the door or what. There are elements of Denton scattered throughout, though, which are pleasant reminders of the unfortunate reality we face upon finishing our sandwiches. The first time I came here was 9pm on a Tuesday. I was craving some cheesecake and the staff was very pleasant in accommodating me. The cheesecake is very good especially for the price. That can be said for all of the food I've had thus far. Today I got the All stops sandwich (and a slice of cheesecake), which was impeccable. The sandwich was so filling I ended up saving half for later! I'm a pretty large guy so that's unusual but a great surprise for me! The service is fast, place is clean enough to eat off the floor. I was surprised it wasn't busier to be frank. The bathrooms were clean, and there was a newspaper above the toilet from a couple days ago. How cool! Overall epic experience and I will probably be a regular.

It's still a big deal to find modestly priced high-quality burgers served super fast. This isn't your Mickey D's or those five dudes or even that burger royalty. In-N-Out is simply awesome and they now have some 40 locations across Texas. Mrs. K. and I stopped in because I saw the big neon sign tower from the highway and could not resist. After parking (because the Sprinter won't fit in their drive through), I ordered at the counter. it was busy at 6:30pm on a weekday so it did take about ten minutes before my number was called. That gave Mrs. K. enough time to drain a first cup of sweet tea and send me for a refill. I picked up my burger and brought it back to the table. A "double double" which comes with two burger patties and two slices of cheese plus the other great stuff, along with a small basket of fries. Mrs. K. isn't eating meat these days so while I enjoyed the heck out of this hot and delicious burger, she consumed about half of the fries. A couple of things to keep in mind, that I had forgotten. In-N-Out has a great secret menu. You can order our burger "animal style" which adds mustard grilled beef, extra pickles, extra grilled onions and extra sauce (it's like Thousand-Island dressing). And I forgot that In-N-Out does their fries a little light - I have to remember to ask for them well done for crispy fries. Next time! [Review 413 of 2026 - 722 in Texas - 25596 overall]

The only other location was in Oklahoma but they closed it down practically a decade ago, so Denton is the only location now. It's located near/on UNT's campus so parking is extremely limited and there's construction going on around the restaurant. I love that Crooked Crust offers unlimited toppings for no additional price and that there's so many different sauces and toppings to choose from. I will say that the pizza is thinner than it used to be (it was always fairly thin, but still had some weight to it. Now it's practically thin crust or at least it was when I went recently.) I also noticed that the 50% military discount has been changed, but that's to be expected, especially post-Covid. Either way, Crooked Crust is still a family favorite and I'll pretty much always stop by when I'm passing through Denton. Customer service is great at this location also and every time I've stopped by during the day, it's practically impossible empty so service is quick.
