I am so happy we stopped here. My husband and I just finished a hike and as always we were hungry for a burger. These little burger joints can be a hit or miss for us, however Frosty Palace was home run! The meat was juicy and flavorful and the fries were just the way I like them. I grew up eating here and most times I've returned to Boise from Phoenix, I find an excuse to stop by for a burger and fries, a Pink Lady or Snickers shake. On this visit the dining area was clean, including the restroom. Staff is always friendly and kind and we've never had enough problems to cause an issue. Seating for wide and large bodies like mine are booths that fit (I know, right?) and there is outdoor seating but the chairs are too high for me. This time I had the standard cheeseburger with fries and fry sauce. Just a basic cheeseburger with lots of pickles and a slice of lettuce. Fries are crispy shoestrings, salted just right. The fry sauce is a mixture of ketchup and mayo (I think) so I don't prefer it, other folks love it, not me. The shakes and Pink Lady come with a straw and spoon but trust me, the straw is useless until that ice cream melts lolololol. We were satisfied with our orders. I'm so glad Frosty Palace is still in business. So much of Homedale and Wilder have changed, so much development going on but to have a staple like this still operating is wonderful. the food is wonderful, no doubt. however, they could improve on drive-thru skills because it takes decades just waiting in the drive-thru to grab your food. other than that, the place is very clean, i can use the restroom without having to feel disgusted, workers there are friendly for a bunch of young folks, all the more reason to stop by at frostys more often :) side note - please update your open/close days on google (if you can, if not totally fine), because it's very confusing trying to figure out what days frostys is opened and/or closed. read more

My wife and I ordered a double cheese burger, a grilled chicken sandwich without mayonnaise, but mustard was okay, along with a basket of fries. We drive 10 minutes to get home and find very few fries that should be a small size and the grilled chicken sandwich has only mayonnaise on it. I grew up in Homedale and frosty palace was a staple. When I was in high school, I worked at Frosty palace and have pretty much tried everything on this delicious menu. I recently was back in Idaho visiting family and was excited to return to Homedale for a burger baron and a pink lady and I was not disappointed during my visit. My father treated my husband and I to a late lunch. We arrived around 1pm and ate in the small dining area. The place has four tables outside, a drive-through window if you want to take your food to-go, and an indoor dining area that has six booths that seat 4 and an area at the front window where you can sit and stare at main street while you eat. This place is a small hamburger drive-in that I would classify as a dive. It is nothing fancy on the inside but has great hamburgers, milkshakes, and malts! The owners work there during the day and the staff was really friendly when we came in to eat. You order at the counter and then they bring the food out to the table. The owner, Melanie, apologized for the disarray. I guess the large amount of snow that they have seen this season has damaged areas of the roof and they are working to get it repaired. I guess a flat roof is not the best for snow storms. I decided to order the classics, a burger baron basket with cheese and bacon and a small pink lady to share with my husband. We also ordered a finger steak dinner with tater sticks instead of fries because my husband is from NYC and had never heard of such a thing. The drinks were delivered to our table very quickly and the food arrived shortly after the beverages. The burger baron was exactly how I remembered it except the choice of lettuce. I remember it being two grilled hamburger patties, grilled onions,special sauce, cheese, and bacon on grilled sourdough with no lettuce but my sandwich today had lettuce so that was slightly different but still delicious. It was cooked perfectly but I will warn you that this is a very, very messy hamburger. If you have never had a burger baron my advice to you is to keep the burger in the bag so that the oily saucy goodness that drips off the hamburger does not find its way onto your clothes or on your fries. It is also a lot to eat and even though I shared it with my husband, I left lunch stuffed. The tater sticks were hot and crispy and the finger steaks were good. To wash all the food down, I chose the delicious pink lady. This drink has the texture of a milk shake but is made with sprite, vanilla ice cream, and cherry syrup. It is blended then topped off with vanilla ice cream. It is divine and goes perfectly with a burger baron! Really any milkshake or malt at Frosty palace is wonderful especially the vanilla or peanut butter milkshake but if you have never had a pink lady, I would definitely recommend it if you ever find yourself in the quaint town of Homedale. read more

On a road trip through the "middle of nowhere", I don't exactly expect restaurant quality food at, well, restaurants. However, this had plenty of areas for improvement. The food was mediocre (which honestly wasn't a huge deal). The facilities were both dirty, and falling apart. There were flies everywhere, without the slightest attempt to get rid of them. The bathroom faucet handle was broken off. The drive through speakers looked like they had been vandalized years ago. Many other areas felt simply in disrepair.
