Pretty peeved right now. I have patronized this place for years... I'm sure I've been in here upwards of 3 dozen times, and I've brought friends, family, etc. with me. They had a check-in offer for 25% off and every time I stopped in I forgot to check in until after I had paid so I never had a chance to use it. I had saved it for later in my check in offers on my yelp app. I activated the offer and showed it to the guy behind the counter but he refused to honor it, saying that they were no longer offering that discount. I explained that there was no expiration date on the offer and it seemed unfair to offer an option to "save for later" if you couldn't use it later. He wouldn't do it. I tried to speak to a manager and he said he was the manager. I paid full price for one of the yogurts I was buying and chose not to purchase one for myself and I will not be patronizing this establishment any more. Really? Is it worth the $1.75 discount you would have given me to lose a good customers business? I heart Fro-Yo!!! Since the beginning of time, when I talk about Frozen Yogurt I've called it Fro-yo. And now that FroyoLife's have been popping up everywhere, whenever I say "I need me some Froyo!" I get a strange look back because peeps now think I'm talking about this place. Not so much. Don't get me wrong... all fro-yo is good fro-yo, but what knocks off the the stars from this FroyoLife and every other one that I've been to, is the same reason why I've knocked down fro-yo joints in the past... bad selection of sides, mainly FRUIT. You know my whole speak, WHY get a healthier choice of ice cream, if you're just going to load it up with crapola!?! The last time I came here, the selection of fruit looked so unappealing to me that I didn't even put anything on my sheet-yo. And that's so not like me. Besides that, the place is always packed, you have to ASK for sample cups because they are not readily available like at my highly publicized loved fro-yo spot, Menchies, and they're flavors are always super sweet and unnatural tasting. There are so many of these 'pay-by-weight' frozen yogurt places popping up all over the place now. It's important to know which ones are worth your time. When I click on the stars to rate a place, the following phrase comes up for 5 stars, "Woohoo! As good as it gets!" That is 100% true for FroyoLife. LOCATION: Convenient and accessible. Although you might need to park a block or two away as this seems to be a busy little shopping area. But then again, if you are eating frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, you're probably a little more health conscious than the average American, and don't mind walking a bit. The store is well kept, clean, and inviting. I was truly impressed considering just how overly-busy they were. SELECTION: There were a good number of choices. We tried: Pineapple (absolutely wonderful), Taro, Plain, Peanut Butter, and Chocolate. The add-ons looked yummy, and clean. I don't know if you'll quite know what I mean by that, unless you've been to a place like this where the fruit looks old and gross...the toppings are all mixed together...blech. Not here. Nope. Everything looked fresh and well-kept. FLAVOR: It really doesn't get any better than the taste and consistency of FroyoLife's frozen yogurt. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Friendly employees. Efficient employees. So I checked out this place for the very 1st time yesterday per my friend's recommendation. I love my yogurt... it's my new diet... lol One big thing I give prop to the place is its cleanliness. If you read my other reviews, you'd know how important cleanliness is to me. Anyway, I wanna give it a 3.5... No, not a 4 because I'd still rather go back to my fave yogurt place in Arcadia (Yogurtland) but this place is good enough if I was in the mood for yogurt while I'm in Montrose. I tried all of their tart flavors & the one I like best is the pomergrante tart. The grapefruit tart is way over powering and so is the mango one. Their red velvet flavor is ok (nothing to die for). The dark chocolate doesn't taste like dark chocolate to me but taste more like dutch chocolate... and these two aren't the same. I know my chocolate! :P Their fruit toppings look fresh but I'm disappointed that they don't have mochi... Mochi makes everything taste better (in my opinion... lol). I really don't care for the other toppings they have cuz those are pretty much very generic... too common. But I like the fact that they have their marshmallow come out of the bottle instead of the chunky ones you see @ the supermarket. I prefer marshmallow swirl when it comes to my rock road (side note: Haagen-Dazs is the only one to have marshmallow swirl in their rocky road flavor as far as I know). But yeah, I'd still pick this place over Pinkberry anytime. Self-serve yogurt is the best since you get to pick everything out for yourself & it goes by the weights. 37 cents/ounce is a bit much when I'm so used to 30 cents/ounce... and I'm telling you the 7 cent does make a big difference in the total price. I like froyolife because: It's by the ounce, there are lots of flavors + toppings (although I always forget to add syrups cause they're hidden...damn you syrups hiding on the side so I can't see) It's wonderful that it's open til 11! Lots of parking...sometimes it's super busy but I avoid those times...it's horrible standing behind people who think there's a line and that you should go from yogurt to yogurt machine in order...after you get the cups....it's a free-for-all...(i'm talking to you slow fatties that get mad and cause a fuss because the tart is sold out 15 minutes before closing..... I don't even like fro-yo, but it's so convenient, cheap and close, I end up going over and over again. Now if only some other places near montrose could stay open til 11.... read more

I'll say it right now: Eat your postmodern sprinkle-less heart out, Pinkberry! FroyoLife made my day, and it probably made my daughter's week when we went in here today instead of hitting up our usual haunt at the coffee bean for a pomegranate-blueberry ice blended. Coffee Bean, I love you, but you got nothing, I mean NOTHING on FroyoLife. Self-serve frozen yogurt. Does it get any better than this? At least 7 or more choices of yogurt, including the now infamous plain 'tart' style, then toppings ranging from all manner of fruit to my uber-topping rainbow sprinkles (reminds me of the 70s and when my grandpa drove a Mister Softee ice cream truck with the soft serve aboard), and even decadence like caramel and chocolate in little squeeze bottles. Weigh it up, gladly give money, and ooila! The smooth texture of the yogurt, the fun little stools that twirl around while you're eating there, the RAINBOW SPRINKLES!!! I have died and gone to yogurt heaven and I'm thrilled to say that no late night craving or desperate sweet tooth by my daughter will ever yield to soulless Pinkberry! update: we've now been frequenting FroyoLife (formerly DolciMango) for a couple of years and it's a Friday after school tradition for my daughter. When I saw the signs go up announcing Dolci Mango, I first wondered "WTF?" and then figured it would be - like reviewer Keisha said - another freakin' Pinkberry. But not so, my friends. WOW. You get to select your own flavor yogurt from about 10 choices AND you decide how much. They charge by weight, and they have tons of toppings. My boyfriend & I made it out of there with 2 large helpings at $8. Quite yummy. We ate as we walked home and had to put half of each of them in the freezer for later - THAT is how much we got for our money. We're addicted. read more

Maybe the first time I went was just a really bad day, but the second time around (due to an unnamed complainer I will not reveal) was a total 180 from the first try. Grapefruit tart- just as good as the pomegranate, but BETTER! I love grapefruit. Tasted just like an actual grapefruit. Dulce de leche- caramel smoothness and not too sweet. Great choice to mix with other creamy flavors. Or a stark contrast with a tart flavor (grapefruit for the win!) Heavenly vanilla- Yummy. Just like it's name, it is heavenly. Creamy like the ducle de leche. I will be back again. read more

Woohoo I popped the Dolci Mango Montrose review cherry! I was in the Montrose Shopping Park after a work meeting in Glendale yesterday and noticed this bright colored fro-yo joint at the corner of Honolulu and Ocean View (across from the Coffee Bean). This is a quaint, cute, little shopping street with mostly local businesses and restaurants. It reminds me a little of San Fernando Road in Burbank. I'm fond of little retail districts like this; it keeps things interesting to have more than just the cookie cutter retail of most places. I was in the city earlier in the week and it wasn't opened so they literally have only been open a few days, right next to "Pilates Plus" which has not yet opened. Before I indulged in some sugary goodness I had to go to the lil' girls room which felt a little like an Alice in Wonderland maze. You enter a long, narrow, snakey hallway and pass through a series of doors until you get to the common area restroom passageway. There's one restroom for Dolci and another, with a sign that explicitly states is for "Pilates Plus" only. There is also a large stairway that leads up to who knows what quite yet. I thought to myself, "How big is this building?" It's like they stuffed Dolci into the corner. Obviously these two tenants are sharing a single space, with faux walls separating one from the next. Anyway, let's get back on track, shall we? Inside you have the usual frozen yogurt ensemble: white bright colorful walls, white geometric lampshades hanging overhead, young teenie boppers working the counter, ridiculously uncomfortable plastic chairs, and "Love in the Club" by Usher blaring through a boom box. Hopefully the box is temporary until they get the real deal sound system. The space is pretty small but it was packed with a lot of kids, anxiously awaiting their turn to dispense their own yogurt and pile on random toppings ('cause they can!) at $0.37 an ounce. Yes, it's a self-serve concept - they had a few flavors on two walls that met at an angle; I guess you can call it the "crotch" of the wall. Eww. Bad example, but it was kind of cramped with the queue of people lined up. Also, the yogurt machines didn't present all pretty like they do at Yogurtland - with the green mosaic wall and all of the shiny machines lined up on a single row. It makes such a difference for the aesthetics of the space. Anyway, there was plain, vanilla, banana (cool!), cappuccino, acai, blueberry. That's all I remember right now. I tried the banana since most places I've been to don't have it, and the plain. I topped it with itty bitty yogurt chips and strawberries. I usually like pineapple, but theres were CANNED and not freshly cut! Yucko. I went to weigh my goods and it came out to $2.79. The girl at the counter was sweet and chipper and smiley. Probably because all she had to do was ring you up since the customers do all the grunt work of preparing their yogurt concoctions on their own. And yes, they take Visa/Mastercard, which I love because let's face it, who carries cash nowadays? The yogurt was a little sweet for my taste, and it didn't have the consistency of other yogurts I've tried, causing it to start to melt before I finished it. It was okay though, worth what I paid for it so I was satisfied. I wouldn't rave about it though - I personally still really like Ce Fiore. But still, it is what it is - plus, the only other option you have for a frozen treat is Yolicious, which is farther down towards the quieter end of the street at the end of the block. Dolci Mango is right on the corner and has a larger more prominent store front, which will probably steal Yolicious' thunder. Whenever I am in Montrose I can't help myself but to get a large tub of frozen yoghurt from FroyoLife and take a nice long walk on a sunny day on the surrounding streets of Montrose. Being in Englishman, FroYo is a fairly alien concept around the UK. It's not to say that we don't have frozen yoghurt in London, it's just that is a lot less popular than it has become in the USA. This place offers around 10 or so different flavours, but I tend to always stick to the more plain flavours. They are tasty enough without too much nonsense! A plethora of different toppings exist from fresh fruit to chocolatey goodness and all variants in between. It is rare that I go for all that though - the frozen yogurt is normally more than enough. The staff here all are always bright, friendly and keep me coming back for more. And more. And more. read more

I'm bout dat life... FROYO LIFE!!! Same as every other froyo place you've been to except it gets really busy and overcrowded since it is the only froyo joint in that part of town. Other than that their understaffed staff seemed to handle things ok. Oh and their mochi tastes strange to me. Kids have no filter and when my niece and nephew who love mochi, ended up spitting theirs out and making a face, you know something's up. Go figure. read more

I have been trying to find an alternative to Pinkberry and until I found FroyoLife Menche's was the best alternative but the 15 minute (minimum) drive out to the valley made that an unviable option. Hazzah to yelp because I no longer need to trek out to the valley for my froyo fix. How many times have I gorged at La Cabanita and wanted to bring home a frozen treat for a midnight snack only to grumble about Pinkberry's lameness and Menche's geographic shortcomings? God bless Al Gore's internet because FroyoLife has made me one happy lady. The winning combo is chocolate and coconut yogurt with strawberries, bananas, coconut shavings, and granola. Booya! How is that not heaven? The downside is that my wallet and my waistline are not happy because I will now be coming here as often as I can. All I can say is YAY! My only complaint, and this is true for all serve yourself froyo spots, is that I wish they offered smaller container options rather than the one giant size option. I understand why they do this but my environmentalist passions move me to annoyance when I use this giant cup for my tiny tasting size bowl of yogurt. It's just wasteful. read more

I love this place. I have been known to frequent it upwards of 3 times a week when I'm in the mood. I am a big fan of the tart flavors. Yesterday I had the Plain tart, the Mango tart and a new-to-me flavor called Taro. I topped it up with yogurt chips and mochi. So yummy! Thanks to my fellow Yelpers, I went to Dolci Mango for the first time this evening! The frozen yogurt craze has taken me from Pinkberry to Yogurtland, and now to Dolci Mango. Like Yogurtland, Dolci Mango is self-serve, so you get to make your own frozen yogurt creation just the way you like it. Instead of my usual plain yogurt with fruit on top, I decided to try the peanut butter yogurt with M&Ms, mochi, and caramel sauce on top. DELICIOUS! A fairly large cup ran me $4.42, which is still a heck of a lot cheaper than Pinkberry. Other frozen yogurt flavors include plain, green tea, raspberry, mango, blueberry cheesecake, cappuccino, honeydew, strawberry, chocolate, and other seasonal flavors. To complement the yummy yogurt, they have a variety of seasonal fruit toppings and dry toppings. It may not matter to some people, but something I always pay attention to when trying a new yogurt shop is the parking situation. Sometimes, I want to be able to get in and get out with no hassle. Lucky for Dolci Mango, the parking situation passes my test. All you have to do is park in the public parking lot across the street from Joselito's and walk down a short block to Dolci Mango. I really like this place! Bf and I were craving yogurt from Yogurtland but since the closest one is in Burbank, I yelped this place and so glad we stopped by! The flavors are delicious and actually better than Pinkberry! Had their Blueberry, Cookies and Creme, Orange Creme, and Strawberry, and not only were the toppings extremely fresh but the yogurts were creamier and tastier than other places. Hahah sorry I just realized how lame the name "Froyolife" is. Despite its name...this place is the ultimate place to go for froyo in La Crescenta/Montrose. Mostly because its the ONLY place to go. Pinkberry is too far of a drive and costs a little bit more. So instead, I come here and get what I want whenever I want! I don't care if you think frozen yogurt is just a fad...there are SERIOUSLY times where I just sit at home and the desire to get yogurt hits me. That's when I'm thankful Froyolife is just a few blocks away. This place is pretty much exactly like Yogurtland in every way. You pick your own portions, you pick your own toppings, and then the cost is determined by weight. They have both a good selection of tart yogurts and normal yogurts. However...I don't get why they lack more fresh fruit options...especially blueberries. Where are the blueberries? They do have peaches which i have never seen at any yogurt shop. This is a good alternative to Menchies. Came here with the kids after dinner for a snack - the frozen yogurt options were extensive and good (no weird flavored). My only minor complaint would be that they don't have little sample cups you can use to taste a flavor before buying it. Other than that, I thought the yogurt was great. read more

I love froyo, but not just any froyo. I'm totally all about FroyoLife, though... and not just because my awesome cousin, Rachel, works there. They switch up their flavors often enough that you can't possibly get bored, but there's still something for everyone, and they always have the old standbys of chocolate and vanilla. The peanut butter, cheesecake, and pumpkin are amazing. The froyo here is self-serve and you pay by the ounce. There's also a bar with a plethora of self-serve toppings to choose from, from coconut to peanut butter cups, and everything in between. I wish they had those little cheesecake bites like Yogurtland does, but hey, nothing is perfect. If you love froyo, though, this place is damn close. read more

Ok, I hate frozen yogurt. I'm more of an ice cream girl but this place is the only frozen yogurt I can tolerate. It's very tasty. They have over 13 flavors. It's definitely the best froyo I've had so far. The only downside is that they as always packed and don't have any seating outside. read more

Honestly, one of the best frozen yogurt places around. I love the people that work here! They're all extremely friendly and on top of what they do. They always greet you with a smile and quickly help you with whatever you need. They make sure to always have their toppings area clean and neat, as well as the froyo cups all in stock. They have a good variety of flavors for the yogurt as well as multiple toppings. Another plus is that they always have music on, but it's not loud enough to be distracting. Oh, and they offer boards games and cards for their customers as well. Their restroom is in the back area, and is always well kept and clean. Good service. Good yogurt. Good toppings. Clean and fun. I guess I like Froyo Life since I am a regular. They are still offering a 25% discount if you check in with YELP. It has about 30 calories an ounce so you are looking at 270 calories for a 9 oz. small cup without toppings. It's a lot less calories than ice cream and you'll be o.k. if you don't go crazy with the toppings. The cookie dough one is my favorite, but the fresh fruit is pretty good too. Hailey Z. is right about parking, but there are usually some spots across the street over by the Coffee Bean. I know I don't mind walking off some of the cookie dough calories anyway. read more

This place is ok. I'd much rather prefer Pinkberry's sour tasting frozen yogurt. However, this is the closest spot for some decent yogurt in Lcr. It's a self-serve joint with like 8-10 different flavors which change from time to time. The good ones are red velvet cake, oreo, strawberry, and dark chocolate. They have a wide variey of toppings which you can also choose from. The joint is clean and it does get pretty busy at night. They charge based on the weight of your yogurt. it's 37 cents/pound which is pretty cheap. Workers are always nice and friendly. :) read more

I always feel like Yogurtland will be the only frozen yogurt place I will like. Froyo Life is okay. Not great but not bad. It is what I eat when I am in town. I've gone here a few times now, and I've gone outside of their busy hours so I've never had an issue with a crowd. Each time I've gone, at least a couple flavors are subbed out, so the variety is good, as well as the variety of toppings. The guy working the counter was actively cleaning and offered my friend a sample while she looked over flavors. The prices are fair and I dont feel like I'm breaking the bank when I get my dessert. Trivia question: What's the difference between this place, Tutti Frutti, and Yogurtland???? Almost absolutely NOTHING! I don't understand how these places compete against each other when there's barely any difference in their pricing and products. Read my review on Tutti Frutti. At least Tutti Frutti has some drinks and promote "happy hour specials." But this place is... pretty much the same as Yogurtland. That's not to say this place sucks. I like Yogurtland. Hence, I like FroyoLife. FroyoLife has a good variety of flavors. Their plain tart tastes exactly the same as the plain tart from Yogurtland and Tutti Frutti. Their prices are done by weight and are reasonable. And they allow people to eat free samples, which is awesome.
