I usually get the mangonada but today I went in for the new lava colada. I get the three o'clock rush sucks for everyone working in that plaza but the employee who took my order kept eyeing down a customer for some reason. I received a giant chunk of ice and some flavoring. Not sure what the actual flavor and taste is supposed to be but I think it's just a badly made shake. I also kept reading about the broken AC which I think is strange for an ice cream shop. I would hope the employees keep their comments to themselves instead of speaking Spanish under their breath. I won't go into detail but the employee I dealt with on this day is named "Perra" or so I'm told. She has an attitude, no class, and no skills. I've stopped by a couple of times to pick up a Polar Pizza (those are delicious and pre-made, so its quick to pick up in their freezer). This Baskin-Robbins is located in shopping center with ample parking available. While my experiences here have not been bad, they've definitely left me wanting more. Two main issues: - The cashier was not very friendly. She asked me to wait as she skipped over me and served other patrons instead. Not a huge deal (I can wait), but her approach was a bit abrasive and rubbed me the wrong way - The Polar Pizza I picked up appeared as if it melted at some point. With 31 flavors they truly have something for everyone, but it's also the place that takes me the longest to choose my flavor because there are so many good choices! Luckily this past visit I knew exactly what I wanted with only 2 taste testers. They had special limited edition stranger things flavors! I was greeted by a nice girl when we walked in, and she offered us samples to see what we liked. After trying 2 different items, we went with a macadamia nut ice cream. My 3 year old and myself shared a single scoop, which was the perfect amount of a snack for us. I was surprised that he was so nice to share it with me! The portion was reasonable and worth the price. I also noticed that they have "family night" each Tuesday, where all single scoops are only $1.75. I think that we may have to make it a Tuesday night family tradition this summer to start stopping in after dinner. I also saw some people getting shakes, which also looked quite good. Came in Tuesday to order a birthday cake for my daughter's birthday this Saturday. Employee "Matt" was very nice and took the order. Today, Thursday I get a call from Matt, who's calling me on his day off from his cellphone to tell me that they can't make the cake. (Why I didn't get a call sooner and from the store itself remains a mystery that nobody can seem to answer.) Called store and spoke to their incompetent, non-apologetic manager "Lydia" who's primary goal seemed to be to talk over me. Not only were my concerns not addressed, but I got an education in how completely backwards their process is for ordering cakes and the apparent communication problems between employees and the "cake maker." Ultimately I was told that they didn't have the materials (wtf?!?!). I asked her to process a refund and her response was "I don't know how you paid for it." I explained that she has my name, phone number and the original copy of the cake order with CC receipt attached and that I expected her to process the refund today and provide me with proof. I should have expected her response given her rude and unprofessional manner, but it was "you're not going to tell me what to do!" followed by a tirade of "you don't know me" statements and whining about all the things she has to do. Lydia, find yourself another job with less responsibility and in the short term, enjoy the hassle of dealing with the stop payment I issued for the transaction since locating my paperwork in your store is so difficult! The place is probably ok for grabbing some ice cream in store, but it seems like from my experience and other reviews, the cake ordering side of the business is a wreck, compounded by rude, unprofessional, and totally incompetent management. Owner "Sanjay" has yet to return my call. I love $1 scoop tuesdays. I love Baskin Robbins. What I don't love is the terrible customer service. Being a teenager doesn't excuse poor customer service. Take pride in what you do. Treat all your customers with respect. Don't do special things for your high school buddies such as allowing them to cut in front of other customers or refusing to do simple courtesy gestures such as offering to help a customer who has dropped her ice cream on the ground. Maybe customer service isn't about the customers anymore. Or maybe I have to go to a place that doesn't mind replacing a $1.50 ice cream cone that fell because I slipped on a wet spot that the employees did not clean up.
