After a recent round of golf in the area, I stopped in for a roadside bite at this cool old walk-up ice cream shop that also has an extensive food menu. Had heard such good things about the burgers and shakes, I just had to give them a go! The cheeseburger I ordered was a 1/2 lb patty atop a bun with the basics...ketchup, mustard, pickles (my go-to recently). Let's start with the weirdest part...for some reason the patty was cut up into sections (like maybe three individual patty pieces) which immediately fell apart upon first bite of the sandwich. The meat itself did not have much in the way of seasoning, but it was super-juicy. The bun was also sort of strange in its consistency...maybe they should grill them to provide more "heft"?...and did not hold up well with the juices flowing. The included basket of fries were crispy but also lacked seasoning. The last part of the basket meal, the cole slaw, was KFC (i.e., chopped) style with a mildly vinegar sauce I will say that the vanilla milkshake (made with their soft serve ice cream) was creamy and delicious and really put me over the edge on this very filling meal. For the price charged, I have a hard time justifying this as a solid burger spot. read more

Great stop for a burger and fries...probably a lot of other items on the menu as well, in the future. I had the Bleu-CHZ & Bacon burger. My Wife had the Bacon Cheeseburger. Both were very good, cooked fresh, and hot. The only reason I gave only four stars is the Bleu Cheese on my burger was completely melted, leaving the burger with very little bleu cheese flavor. So this was pretty disappointing. We ordered one large order of french fries, and one large order of waffle fries. Both were excellent, If you're ever driving through Parkman Ohio on Highway 422, look for the place with the Red Roof, and stop for something tasty. They have ice cream, and a lot more. read more

Clean place to go for a ice cream treat or something quick to eat. Nice variety, I like ice cream better here than DQ. Eat in or take out.

Thee absolute best ever fried green beans and French fried pickles. Home made recipe w/ a whole lot of love. Home made dill ranch is phenomenal with the pickles. The ice cream selection is tremendous and the ice cream is of course delicious. The food, and the service are well worth the country road trip. Highly recommend!!! read more

Pictures don't really show the clean, utilitarian, diner that doubles as an ice cream stand. The people are friendly and the food is well prepared. 100% Angus beef burgers are the reason to stop - and what I had once again. This place is just over 16 miles from my house - and I make the drive for the good burger passing those chains that claim to have good food. These 1/2 pound burgers are done a bunch of different ways - I stick with the standard. Don't like burgers, then order the pizza. Reasonable pricing is a plus. You will not be disappointed. read more

Good stuff. We frequent here for ice cream. Our favorite is the turtle sundae and the peanut sundae. It is a little pricier than Dairy Queen but the ice cream is tastier here. I have only ordered food from here once. It was pretty good but a little greasy. In fairness I did get a fat burger with onions, mushrooms and Swiss on it. I have heard from others that go there for food more often that they really like it. I like supporting local business when they have a good product and this place fits the bill. read more

I really like this place. The food is good and the people seem nice enough for the limited contact you have with them. I have one complaint though, and that is way you have to order your food if you are eating in their dining room. I cant stand standing in line on the sidewalk talking to someone through a little window with 4 lanes of loud traffic right behind you, it's super annoying. I can understand if they don't want to employ servers but at least let us stand inside and order. read more

I went up to this place expecting a dirty little dump. Instead i found a full service ice cream/fast food setup that was spotless, friendly, and had some of the best custard i've tasted. The eating area is enclosed and climate controlled and super clean. Our french fries were great and i'm a fan of the blizzard equivalent. Really made our trip to Nelson's Ledges even better. read more

The handy location & retro architecture attracted me, and the Reuben on Rye left me satisfied. Didn't expect such an extensive menu. The menu included interesting items like a 1 lb Double Barnyard Burger, Mini-Potato Pancakes (Yukon Gold), & Monster Quart Cinnamon Maple Milkshakes. Fast service & a spartan, but clean dining room. Not only is the ice cream good here, so is the food. I grew up going here as a kid and so did my mother when she was a kid. I would recommend this to anyone. I recently took my boyfriend there and he loved it. He said there isn't many places around with a feel like this place has. read more

The food is good, but my boyfriend has to wait 15 minutes just to get his sundae. Not only that, my total came out to $8.97 and she only gave me three pennies back. Their ice cream is good quality, but the staff were mopping and cleaning instead of making my boyfriends ice cream.
