Frozen Smoke is located inside Lat65 Brewing. You order at the counter, they give you a buzzer and they have open seating. You can order beer from the beer-tenders down the counter. We ordered the smoked wings with the dry rub, and the macaroni with pulled pork. They have a selection of sauces to use. I loved both items. I wish that we were local so I could go back and try more. Food came out timely even though it was busy. The person taking orders was friendly.

We hit up Lat 65 for some beer and tried Frozen Smoke BBQ for the first time...and I'm in love. The beer (and cider) were fantastic. We had not intended to get food but after looking at the menu, we decided we had to try it. We had a hard time deciding....but I got a Popper Smash Burger and my husband got the Blue Cheese Buffalo Smash Burger. Besides the fact that it took us awhile to figure out how to eat it without wearing it, they were, hands down some of the best burgers we have ever had. Good flavor and definitely did not skimp on the toppings! We are definitely coming back!

Best darn burgers in Fairbanks. The Blue Buffalo (blue cheese & Buffalo Sauce, homemade,) is so tasty, just enough zest. Kind of weird but tasty and well presented is the peanut butter smash. My favorite, so far, is the oh so gooey Mac Attack. It's loaded with Mac n cheese, difficult to eat, but, double delicious. The atmosphere at Lat 65 is low key and nice, the service is quick and the whole place is nice and clean. The beer, Lat 65, isn't bad either.

How am I the first reviewer?! Then again I'm just a tourist. Frozen Smoke BBQ is located inside the Lat 65 Brewery. Open seating, order food at the counter adjacent to the bar, they give you a buzzer, walk over to pick up your food when it buzzes. They have a selection of BBQ sauces you can pour or request to have with your order. I had the habanero one, it was A+, I mixed it with their original to lighten the heat. I wish I took a photo of the Jalapeno Smash Burger, but I ate every last bit of it and even moreso I wish I had room to eat another! It did not need the bbq sauce, I only had the sauce to taste and for a few bites of my burger. The brisket patties, all the fixin's that come in the burger, and crunchy latticed cheese = culinary skills and attention to detail on how to make an amazing burger. Worth the dollars. My friends enjoyed their loaded baked potato. The staff were friendly and helpful. Ambiance was chill, not too loud, easy to converse with folks and play a board game.

Been going to Alaska for work for the last past 3 years, don't know how I miss this gem. Burger was delicious. Mac n cheese was good. I would recommend this place to anyone that comes to Fairbanks.

Great BBQ in a perfect Fairbanks brewery vibe. Love the brisket nachos--and the burgers are one of the best in town.

Great bbq and beer place. Casual and fast. The smoked wings and the Mac and cheese with brisket were great. The nachos are a meal!

Highly recommend! Fiancé and I got their sweet glazed chicken I believe, and the dumpling ramen with beef. Their Thai iced tea is also soooooo delicious!! Waitress warned me that it would take a while and I could either take a seat or wait in my car (it's a rental and I'm from SoCal during October early snow weather). So I chose the former. I only really looked at the front portion of the restaurant. Didn't seem too busy but one of the higher rated KFC spots and that was my craving. Plus, I went ahead and ordered for to-go since I wasn't too hungry and was more in preparation for the season's first snowstorm. Seemed like any other small restaurant layout with booth seating on the outskirts. Fried chicken smelled good once I walked in. Now the food itself: I appreciate how it wasn't overly sauced so the crisp wasn't completely gone by the time I took a quick bite for the night. I'm sure it would've been better straight out of the fryer. All pieces were still juicy. So overall very much up to par. Just not top tier. Before I got out of my car, a Transient came up to my car door to ask for something. As a solo traveler, I respectfully shook my head at him. He went into the shop next door. As this is in their downtown area, not surprising to have such an interaction. Unfortunately that lowers their rating though.

We ended up ordering beef noodle soup and the duck crepe, which both were surprisingly better than I expected. However, my only issue with the dishes were the veggies used, which was far from any Asian veggies since they used raw lettuce and it was very undercooked and had a slight bitterness that somewhat ruined the dishes for me. In a way I think the dishes might have tasted better without it although I appreciate the effort to add in some veggies. For the beef noodle soup, the broth and the meat was good and the egg noodle went well with it. My friend ordered the ramen version, and it was literally instant ramen noodles (not worth in my opinion). While you're able to dine in they operate more like a take out spot as all the utensils and boxes are using take out and disposable containers. Overall, not a bad spot if you're craving some Asian food.

We ordered the ginseng chicken soup, but it had no ginseng in it and no ginseng flavor at all. The restaurant also smelled strongly of cooking oil as soon as we walked in, and our table was uneven. The service was unacceptable. We politely asked the staff to place the dishes in the center of the table so everyone could share, but they ignored our request and scattered the dishes around the table instead. They even placed extremely hot dishes right next to guests, making them awkward and unsafe to handle. The female server had a very unfriendly attitude and acted as if she didn't want to serve us. When we asked for a serving spoon to share the food, they refused to provide one, which was surprising for a restaurant serving shared dishes. Average food, poor service, and high prices. There are many better options. We definitely won't be coming back.

If he tries this crap again, I will keep on editing this until the end of time. Because he took $208 from me and gave me $.13 in product. I asked that man at the grill to cook me a piece of fish medium rare. He told me he would not. Matter of fact, I went down to the prime rib area where they were cutting off a piece of medium and I asked for medium rare. He tried cutting it off the same spot. I said that's not medium rare he said it was I said fine knowing well I was going to write this review. Now you wanna play the game if you respond to me and I respond you you go right ahead and we'll do this for the rest of time. But you don't ever wanna walk into this place and spend your money on this crap. The Alaska Salmon Bake in Fairbanks comes with a reputation that the food unfortunately cannot support. Both the salmon and the cod were cooked far past any reasonable standard -- reduced to a dry, flaking consistency closer to fudge than fresh fish, with none of the moisture, fat, or flavor that world-class Alaskan seafood deserves. When I requested that my salmon be prepared medium rare -- the correct preparation for fish of this quality -- I was flatly refused. This is a liability shield masquerading as a culinary policy. Alaska runs some of the finest wild salmon on earth through these waters, and to reduce it to the same overcooked fate you'd find at a casino buffet is nothing short of malpractice. Properly prepared salmon should be translucent and silky at the center, the fat still doing its work, with a clean sear on the outside. What was served bore no resemblance to that standard. Holland America books this excursion as a signature Alaskan experience. Travelers deserve to know that the fish -- the entire point of the meal -- is cooked without skill or care, and no accommodation is made for guests who know how it should be eaten. Skip this and find a Fairbanks restaurant willing to treat their product with respect. You don't get to go on top of my review without an alternate response to me. You people knew full well what you were doing and how you were doing it. I asked every person there to cook beef fish, medium rare everyone and then said absolutely not so you can go to hell. And if you want to keep on going, I got the rest of my life to make you my cause so go ahead make my day.
