Half of the cheese steak, she started before I took the photo!

Went looking for a Yelp find and they were closed for a family vacation. Started looking for another place and saw C&J Diner down the road. It caught my attention with good signage, distinctive appearance and a good feeling. One side is counter service and the other is sit down in a beautifully decorated dining room. Waited 5 seconds for a waitress to appear and seat us. Took our drink order, was back in one minute asking about our day and being very friendly. I ordered the Halibut Fish & Chips while the Wife had the Original Philly Cheesesteak, both with fries. The food was delivered within five minutes and was fresh and hot. Excellent crinkle fries were some of the best I've ever had. The halibut was four good size pieces with a thin, crispy coating so I tasted fish and not breading. Excellent dish. The Cheesesteak was also very good with beefy tasting steak sliced thin with a smooth, tasty cheese sauce over the top, not heavily dressed as some are, but a thin coating that let you taste the excellent beef. This was one of k favorite lunch over the last few years. Spotless bathrooms only reinforced my five star rating!

Stopped in for dinner and was greeted immediately by a nice gentleman. He was prompt and courteous the whole visit. Didn't miss a beat. Everyone loved their dinner. My friend who got the shrimp basket said it's the best value in town.

I won't be back. This was the chicken fried steak I was so looking forward to. Figures, not homemade but a frozen patty bought from a chain and no cream gravy and put on a bun that had tiny chopped lettuce... no sauce. $ money wasted on crap. To provide this food at this price tells me they don't care about quality or customers returning.... In for the quick buck. So gross... the standard, the quality, the food. If you advertise a chicken fried steak then make a chicken fried steak with gravy. THIS is why so many local places close down because they try to cut corners and go shopping at major stores. You're empowering big companies to take over because you are cutting corners. People will pay for a quality meal anywhere, you just have to provide it and include the cost of transport which seems to be everyone's excuse for cutting corners. If people are willing to order then they are willing to pay the prices posted.

A quick bite with 50s nostalgia is what this place provides...except the music. Hearing Redbone's "Come and get your love" and Beegees' "Staying alive" didn't fit the ambiance. Typical burgers, hot dogs, chili, fries, and sandwiches. I ordered the BBQ beef sandwich, something I don't think I tried since my elementary school cafeteria days. Be assumed that this was of much better variety; strong bread holding a hefty amount of hot beef in a tangy bbq sauce. The crinkle cut fries were standard, but done right. My wife had a late breakfast, ordered a blt, and was satisfied. Good customer service. Though not on the menu, the waitress made me a perfect chocolate coke. Don't know if filling for a dinner, but for a nostalgic lunch or late night snack, definitely recommend

Wanted to try somewhere new , which led us to C&Js ! According to online , it was a drive thru. When I got there I was surprised to see it is not a drive thru, more of a drive up. You read a menu on the side of the building & call a phone number when ready to place your order. The menu is easy to read, except there are no prices. So if your in a tight budget this would be a tricky place to eat at. After ordering, it took 26 minutes for the food to be brought to the car. I felt that was really long considering I ordered a cheesesteak and a salad. Your options to pay are cash or they bring a machine to run your card outside. We ordered a cheesesteak , just meat & cheese with extra cheese and fries. The cheesesteak was $13. Extra cheese was $2 and sub fries instead of chips was $3. So $18 in total. I was disappointed with the lack of cheese. If this was extra, I would be surprised to see what normal cheese would be? The fries were seasoned well and crispy. Cheesesteak all in all was ok, nothing to write home about. We also ordered a salad. The options were chef or lettuce salad. So I opted for the lettuce salad and asked if they could add chicken. Was given the option of grilled or crispy. Choose grilled. The lettuce salad was $6. The addition of grilled chicken was $5. It was a salad, nothing special. But it was the saddest $11 salad I have ever received. The food was ok. Service was ok. Prices were ok. But that's just it, everything was ok. Would I come back ? Maybe but it wouldn't be my suggestion or at the top of my list.

Was very disappointed overall with C and Js. Came here after a long day of snowboarding with 3 friends. We chose to sit inside and was greeted by a couple loudly arguing which went on for at least 10 minutes. You could tell the entire restaurant felt uncomfortable but the staff did nothing to solve the problem. The milkshake was the best part of our meal. I also ordered a burger and fries which I felt like they were just frozen and warmed up. Definitely expected better from a burger joint.

Bacon Cheeseburger was amazing. Tots cooked to perfection!

Prices are great! Food was cooked perfectly. Nothing over or under cooked. We will go again. Inside and out was cute. Loved the quotes on the flower boxes.

I enjoyed the cheesesteak but it was a bit small. Good lunch portion I guess. Fries were great. The fried sampler plate was good too

Thoroughly disappointed with this "drive in". First of all, it's a sit-down restaurant not an order-at-the-counter place. The burgers are made with pressed beef pre-forms that are particularly unappetizing. My girlfriend had the clam strip basket--apparently the cook didn't get the order right, because he sent fried strips of rubber band. Save your money and go elsewhere.

I ended up getting some tacos and my husband got a sandwich. Both of them had really good flavor. Could tell that a lot of ingredients are made in house. We really enjoyed the glass roof as the snow was just starting to melt. It was kind of cool like we were in a half melted igloo. I would definitely put it on my list if you are gluten-free.

Landed on the BLT with salmon. The BLT actually came with a croissant as the bread, so it made it very easy to eat. Lots of bacon and the salmon went really well with the sandwich. Fries here are great too! Staff here are great! Since we came here near closing time, they actually offered us some of their leftover soup since it would have been tossed out. Definitely hate wasting food, so that offer was accepted very quickly. I didn't realize until after leaving why Blue Roof Bistro has its name. It's because...the roof is blue heh. Either way, worth the visit.

Service: Attentive, friendly, and fast. Lots of regulars came in and they automatically knew their orders. Food: The cup of gumbo was so much larger than I anticipated. I would not have ordered this had I known the size. I'm not sure if it had any seafood in it, since I couldn't taste or see any of them, but it was still hearty and delicious. The bison burger was good, but a bit dry for my taste, so I added a bunch of condiments to it. I asked what the buffalo chips were, which are potatoes with Cajun/buffalo style seasoning that's slightly spicy, so I opted for that and it was worth it, since they didn't have curly fries in stock. Overall I'd come back again, but maybe ask for the burger to be cooked medium rare, if that were an option. It seemed like a nice, friendly place to have good food with friends

We had the churrasco steak and the halibut Cuban style. The steak sauce has a kick, while the halibut sauce was slightly creamy but also refreshing - olive and lime perhaps? I thought the halibut was overcooked at first but the bottom half was perfectly cooked, so it seem like just the seasoned top was cooked more so. They both came from vegetables and yellow rice that soaked up the sauces well. We also got the flan which is house-made. So good, even better than the entrees. It tasted so 'fresh', don't know how else to describe it. They also had the cheesecake that night and I wonder if that's housemade as well. Wife got the mango juice which is freshly squeezed it seems and I got a bottle of Alaskan white. I do like the arctic warrior draft better but this was decent too.

We made a reservation for a larger group, yet the table wasn't ready when we arrived, and we ended up waiting much longer than expected. For a place that requires reservations, this was frustrating right from the start. The food was just okay--not terrible, but definitely not worth the price. Given our background and familiarity with Latin cuisine, we expected much more in terms of flavor and authenticity, especially considering the high cost of the dishes. The live music, which we were looking forward to, started about 30 minutes late. To make matters worse, when one of the band members didn't show up, the owner asked a member of our family--who happens to be a musician--to step in and play. Not only did this put us in an awkward position, but there was no acknowledgment or discount offered for his time, even though we had other plans to get to. Parking is also inconvenient, with only street parking or paid lot options available. The restaurant itself is very small, which does create a somewhat intimate atmosphere, but it also feels cramped for larger groups. While the owner comes across as friendly, it also felt like there was a strong focus on maximizing profit. There are multiple additional fees listed in very small print at the bottom of the menu--something that should be much more transparent or reconsidered altogether. Service overall was slow, and again, the pricing does not match the quality or experience provided. At this point, I wouldn't personally recommend this place unless there are significant improvements--better service, more consistent food quality, fairer pricing, clearer fee transparency, and better management of their live music arrangements.
