Whether it's a packed weekend or a slow afternoon, the staff tends to move very slowly, often chatting and gossiping in the back. I try to give them grace since they all look like high school students, and I will say the male employees are usually friendlier than the female staff. Another minor issue is the syrup consistency. The last couple of times, our shave ice didn't have enough syrup, leaving half of it as just plain ice. It's an easy fix if you eat there because you can just ask for more, but it's a bummer when you take it to-go and realize it too late. That said, when the owner is in, the energy completely changes--everyone moves so much faster! The owner is incredibly sweet. She took the time to check on everyone, and when I asked her about "dirty sodas" (which I'd never heard of), she brought one out on the house!
