    Chicken Katsu

My family was craving some Hawaiian BBQ while in Monterey and decided to check this place out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was small. It had a couple of small tables inside[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. When normally ordering Hawaiian BBQ, it normally takes 10-15 minutes to get your food. I don't know if it was because it was dinner time, but took us 50 minutes to get our food. I started getting worried faster a saw others get food who ordered after us. By the time we got our food, we noticed the chicken katsu was over cooked and really dry. At least the cashier gave us a free shaved ice. I can't imagine us going back here again.

Came here for dinner and all the food we ordered was good. The meats tender and tasted really good and was cooked well. Taking our order was fast but took almost 1 hour to get it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Real small place inside with 2 tables and 4 chairs but there's tables and chairs outside you can use.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The food is amazing!!!! If you want authentic Hawaiian food you've got to try this place. Get the galbi short ribs extra charred! The only things that sucks about this place is how long they take to make the food and the seating. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The chairs are on their last leg and are about to break soon.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lastly, the owner wears black gloves while handling money and touching the door so it kinda looks like he goes in the back and handles food with those same gloves because I've never seen him take them off after handling money or touching the door. Kinda gross!

had high hopes after seeing all the Google reviews and TikToks about Keoki's BBQ, but honestly we were pretty let down. My husband ordered the Keoki wings and katsu combo, and I got the kalua pork and katsu. We also ordered 2 musubi and the manapuas. The katsu was overcooked, the kalua pork was bland, and the chicken was dry. The spam in the musubi was sliced super thin. The guava cake was actually really good, probably the best thing we had. For the price we paid, especially driving 5 hours and making this our first food stop, we honestly wish we would've gone somewhere else. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The wait was long, there was no Hawaiian music or vibe, and the customer service felt nonexistent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm not going to give them 1 star even though I honestly wanted to, but don't claim Hawaiian when there's no Aloha or Mana behind it.

I worked at a recent Celebration of Life for an HI-Japanese Loved One. The family ordered her favorite treats from Keoki's Hawaiian Barbeque, including Kalua Pork, Teriyaki Chicken Skewers, Musubi (spam & vegetarian), & Fried Rice. The catering team brought everything fresh & hot to our offsite location. Each item was provided in metal trays with lids that were secured in small, cardboard boxes to prevent spillage during travel to our site. The catering team knew our Loved One personally and surprised the family with an extra tray of non-skewered chicken teriyaki. Napkins & serving utensils were included. The meal was the highlight of the celebration because the family dined on 'comfort food' -- traditional dishes from their culture. The price was right and the professionalism was the best! Whether you're familiar with the dishes or want your meal in the restaurant, Keoki's Hawaiian Barbeque is the best example of quality products & customer service with a personal touch. Thank you.

The best Hawaiian food I've had outside of Hawaii!!! I was born and raised in Hawaii and coming to this spot reminded me of home. The quality and taste of the plate lunch I got reminded me of being at a family party back home. So many options to choose from there, the service is top notch and I am definitely coming back!!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only downside is that it's a small restaurant so be prepared to take it home but they do have some tables available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This place is legit. First off, unless you're on island time - call in your order; Keoki's gets busy (at least on the Monday during lunchtime when I visited). [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside, there are two small tables that can sit two patrons each.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] First, decide what you'd like (from their extensive menu on the wall) while you're waiting in line, then order at the counter. You'll pay for your meal, and pick out any beverages and/or desserts from the cold cases near the register. Depending on how many people ordered before you, sit back and wait 20-30min for your meal to be prepared. Gotta say though, WORTH the wait! I ordered the Loco Moco and it was SUPERB! Honestly, it was enough food for 2 servings. I also picked out a Hawaiian Sun beverage from their extensive selection of drinks, and Rocky Road pie (with macadamia nuts!) for dessert. Let me tell you, I left this place feeling well fed & satisfied! My only regret is not trying this place sooner; next time I'm in Marina, it will be at the top of my list to revisit! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Check them out - good vibes, great food.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Keep it up, Keoki's! You are a gem, and the locals are lucky to have you.

Omg soooooooo good. A taste of Hawaii right here, how lucky for those who live around here!!! It's very rare to find a Hawaiian spot that is close to authentic. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Here...you'll feel like you're eating the food at a luau or a local mom and pop ono grindz spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything we ordered was soooooo good. My daughter loved the katsu sauce we had to order one more. My gosh my plate was truly heaven. I got to try the pulled pork aka kalua pork, loco moco with eggs over easy and the chicken wings!!! OMG!!! It was truly a heaven on earth experience. There is still soooo much I wanna try here. I am drooling as I writing this review. My son loved his spam musubi too. My other daughter ordered the loco moco fries and she loved that as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a small space with only two tables with two chairs each so you may not be able to dine in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We had to wait for others to leave before we could sit and eat and our entire family alone took up all the seatings available lol. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There were a lot of people ordering the entire time we were here so this must be a popular food spot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'm surprised this was our first time here. So happy to have recently discovered it. We will definitely be back!!! Friendly staff too!!!

Pork kalua lacked flavor. The beef BBQ was just okay. Their prices seemed fair except for the canned drinks, which were way too expensive.

Is it possible to order in advance and pick up later? For example, ordering at around 4pm and picking up at 5pm?

Our experience is order ahead and go into the store to pick up the food.

The cocktails were also a major highlight, perfectly mixed and really delicious. However, the food was just okay and left us wishing for a bit more flavor across the board: Tuna Caesar Salad: I ordered the Caesar salad topped with tuna. Even though the tuna was cooked rare/undercooked, the texture surprisingly came out on the dry side, and the salad overall lacked that punch of flavor you hope for. Jerk Chicken Bento Box: My husband got the bento box with jerk chicken. While it was a great concept, the chicken was unfortunately dry as well and could have used much bolder island spices. It's a fun spot with fantastic drinks and top-notch service, but with a few tweaks to the kitchen's execution and seasoning, the food could easily match the vibe.

As soon as I walked in, I immediately felt the Hawaiian vibes. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the cashier was incredibly sweet and helpful. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't pre-order the burger for pickup, but I was told it's made fresh to order and available in limited quantities, which made sense. Along with the Poke Burger, I picked up a bottle of their Garlic Gurl hot sauce. Being from Gilroy, I had to give it a try! It had the perfect amount of garlic flavor with just the right level of heat--not overpowering at all. I also grabbed a Hawaiian drink from the refrigerator by the entrance. Having just returned from Hawaii, it instantly brought me back to the islands. The restaurant itself is spacious, clean, and inviting, with plenty of indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. Parking was easy to find, which is always a plus. When my food arrived, I was surprised by the portion size. The Poke Burger is huge and could easily be shared between two people. While I'm personally not the biggest fan of crispy rice, the poke filling inside was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and delicious. Every bite was packed with flavor. If you've been seeing the viral Poke Burger all over social media and have been wondering if it's worth the hype, I'd say it's definitely worth checking out!
