The food is amazing!!!! If you want authentic Hawaiian food you've got to try this place. Get the galbi short ribs extra charred! The only things that sucks about this place is how long they take to make the food and the seating. The chairs are on their last leg and are about to break soon. Lastly, the owner wears black gloves while handling money and touching the door so it kinda looks like he goes in the back and handles food with those same gloves because I've never seen him take them off after handling money or touching the door. The katsu was overcooked, the kalua pork was bland, and the chicken was dry. The spam in the musubi was sliced super thin. The guava cake was actually really good, probably the best thing we had. For the price we paid, especially driving 5 hours and making this our first food stop, we honestly wish we would've gone somewhere else. I worked at a recent Celebration of Life for an HI-Japanese Loved One. This place is legit. First off, unless you're on island time - call in your order; Keoki's gets busy (at least on the Monday during lunchtime when I visited). Inside, there are two small tables that can sit two patrons each. First, decide what you'd like (from their extensive menu on the wall) while you're waiting in line, then order at the counter. You'll pay for your meal, and pick out any beverages and/or desserts from the cold cases near the register. Depending on how many people ordered before you, sit back and wait 20-30min for your meal to be prepared. Gotta say though, WORTH the wait! I ordered the Loco Moco and it was SUPERB! Honestly, it was enough food for 2 servings. I also picked out a Hawaiian Sun beverage from their extensive selection of drinks, and Rocky Road pie (with macadamia nuts!) for dessert. Let me tell you, I left this place feeling well fed & satisfied! My only regret is not trying this place sooner; next time I'm in Marina, it will be at the top of my list to revisit! I did enjoy the rice, it was perfectly cooked. The Mac Salad isn't your normal Hawaiian Mac Salad but more of an updated American Mac Salad, with sweet notes in it. Perfectly crispy, juicy and absolutely delicious. It's like a flavor bomb in your mouth. Slightly sweet and salty, perfectly seasoned. My dad took one bite and immediately said it was best he's ever had and he's extremely hard to please nowadays on chemo. So that tells you something. Too bad we ordered it when they were closing otherwise would have ordered another order of just wings. The kalua pork was just alright and simple. Least favorite was the hamburger, as there were grisly pieces that were a bit hard to digest and flavor was just ok. But I may not be the best gauge on this dish since I typically don't care for loco moco even in Hawaii. Also seemed a bit over cooked in my opinion. We also always get spam musubi. You can order your rice plain, or seasoned with furikake. Our usuals: loco loco, kalua pork, chicken katsu...except for most of the breakfast items, we've tried almost everything and nothing disappoints! He got the terriyaki beef and terriyaki chicken. We both ordered a seasoned rice spam musubi. First off we were there for 55 minutes before we got our food. 55 minutes! Everyone on the staff was nice but come on. Now for the food. The spam musubi is massive and the seasoned rice was very good. Just be prepared it's a ton of rice, which I didn't mind but some may! The terriyaki chicken was a solid 8/10 for me. The katsu chicken was very dark almost like it had been refried. The kalua pork was nice and Smokey tasting. My issue came with the Mac salad. The Mac salad had almost no flavor and was extremely watery. I could pour the liquid out of my plate it was so watery. I hate leaving a bad review for a local spot but please just know, if you're going to order please do so ahead of time or be prepared to wait. read more

We did the teriyaki chicken, teriyaki beef, and wings! The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions and gave us great recommendations from the menu. Such a great find! Reminds me of Zippys on the Big Island! This place is small only two tables inside but they have a nice area of outside dining with umbrellas. The food was just so delicious they make the meats once you order and you can just taste the freshness! If you are in a hurry I would call ahead we waited about 15 min for our order it was so worth it! We had a Hawaiian Sun Luau Punch drink to compliment our meal. This was our first stop for our stay in Monterey. They are only open Monday to Friday, and I was afraid it was going to be crazy busy. Rocko was super nice and patient with me. They have a lot of items that aren't listed on the website, so it took me a few minutes. I also wanted to order everything but had to place myself. Inside the place is really small. Only a handful of tables. People were literally placing take-out orders and waiting for them. Looking at various decor around definitely keeps you occupied for a few minutes. They have a lot of items for sale aside from food. They have stickers, lihing candy, statues, coconut head for your car, and so much more. Did you know this place has been around since 2012? Orders took a little long. Rocko quoted 20 minutes, but realistically, everyone waited at least 35 to 40 minutes. As impatient as people were, Rocko had a positive attitude. He told me some tips and tricks with the food. Musubi should be eaten right away. It is best to eat within the first 15 minutes. These are a few of the items we tried: 1. Loco moco - I loved the crunch of the meat. The gravy and over medium egg was delicious. Rice was perfectly cooked. I think the Loco moco went perfectly well with the potato salad 2. Potato salad - perfect amount of tart 3. Macaroni salad - First bite tasted sweet. After a while, it grows on you. My husband liked it but I prefer potato salad. 4. Teri beef musubi - This has a lot of rice. Not a lot of meat, and it looks like they didn't put teri sauce. It would have tasted better if there was more meat. The Rice to meat ratio was off. 5. Kalua pork musubi- This was well seasoned and flavorful. 6. Macadamia cream pie - Delicious, pie was creamy with crunchy macadamias. Surprisingly, this was my favorite out of the two. 7. This was a great place for lunch! Service was amazing and friendly. We came around 2pm and were helped right away! The menu is easy to understand plus had great photos/plates to show the sizes. I ordered a bento for myself with katsu, and shredded pork (forgot the name), with rice and macaroni salad. My partner got a katsu plate with similar sides. Additionally I got masubi! Both seasoned and regular. The food was served fresh and hot. The masubi was also hot and delicious! Rice was soft and fluffy. I loved the pork and katsu. I called in my order around 6:10pm since I was in traffic, and it took me 20 mins to get to the restaurant. I got there at 6:30pm. I go up to the counter and the food is not ready. There are about 5 customers waiting for their food. About 5-6 more customers come in and order. All 10-11 customers got their orders first than me and the cashier was already wiping down the table and closing the blinds since it was closing time.
