I grew up in Kauai, so I'm pretty picky when it comes to Hawaiian shaved ice. Ever since moving to…read moreCalifornia, I've been trying to find a place that actually tastes like home, and Pau Hana absolutely nailed it. This is by far the most authentic shaved ice I've had outside of Hawaii. The texture of the ice is perfect, the flavors are spot on, and getting it with condensed milk and macadamia nuts takes me right back to the islands. One thing that really stood out is that they source their ingredients from Hawaii. Their li hing mui powder is the real deal--the best I've found anywhere in California. The first time I came in, I asked if I could buy some because it was that good. They said they would've loved to, but they didn't have any extra at the time. Fast forward to today--I came back with my fiancée and asked again, and they actually remembered. They had some set aside for me and wouldn't even let me pay for it. That kind of customer service is incredibly rare. I didn't catch the owner's name, but he was genuinely kind and went out of his way to make our day. They've earned customers for life. If you're from Hawaii and miss the real thing, or if you've never had authentic Hawaiian shaved ice before, you need to come here. I recommend Pau Hana to everyone I know!

I was in the area with my brother and my niece. While my brother had to do something nearby, I saw…read morepeople on the street holding shaved ice. Looking at how delicious they were, I asked where they got this from. They pointed me to the corner and I went in with my niece. The space is rather small, but you don't really need to sit in the store to enjoy the amazing food. They have curated list of items or you can build your own. My niece wanted specific colors, so we opted for build your own style. We got mango ice cream at the bottom with strawberry and cotton candy syrup, topped with mochi and condensed milk. The shaved ice itself was finely grounded and easy to scoop. I didn't have any chunks of ice that made eating this unbearable. The syrups were delicious and sweet and worked well together. The condensed milk tied it all together and the mochi added a nice texture touch. The mango ice cream was also delicious. Overall, a very reasonably priced dessert. I look forward to coming back again.

I love it here. I wish I have gone here sooner. lol…read more This place is really easy to find, you can see the name right by the major road, plenty of parking up front. The store is a bit small but they do have outside seating. They have the menu available for people in line so you can be ready when you finally in front. They also offer water while you wait because it does get really hot out here in the summer. I do not think I have ever had shaved ice like this before. You have the option to have it with ice cream, the ice cream is from Lappert's and is already delicious on its own. You get to pick mochi (i always get mochi) or red bean, and your choice of syrups. I have tried a couple different combos and have liked them all. The ice is so soft and fluffy and full of flavor from poking the ice with sticks and making sure the syrups penetrate all the way. I really appreciate al the time and effort they put in every order. The staff is also very sweet. Be sure to stop by !

I swear it felt like some people took 3-5 minutes to order. But also the cashier keeps having to switch between taking orders and shaving ice. They have a lot of workers so I'm not sure what the holdup is. Anywho, we ordered calamansi, guava, passion, with snow cap and a scoop of macadamia nut ice cream. I don't remember which one was my favorite but calamansi was not it. The ice cream was a nice touch, and overall the texture was fantastic. I'd come back maybe if there was a 10 minute wait!
