    Catfish and green beans
    Jane L.

We've been wanting to try this place out for a while and we finally did tonight and we will definitely be back! The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. I had the catfish with green beans and macaroni and cheese and everything was perfect. The green beans were fresh and Sautéed with a lot of onion just the way I love it. My husband had one of their burgers and said it was the best burger he ever had! We will be back!

Had to take my turkey club to go! It was da bomb!

Best Turkey Club sandwich ever! It was done and made to order in less than 5 minutes and it was delicious! Their homemade chips were the best ever, too! I may stop by again on my way home! Not very big as space but with plenty of tables and also plenty of high chairs by the bar area. Ample selection of beverages and their menu has everything for everyone. They prep and make a lot of the food themselves, not the frozen stuff you get everywhere. Stop by and decide for yourself and don't get bogged down by some petty complaints from petty people.

Cobb salad with bacon on the side

A random stop but so glad I got to experience Frumpy Joe's. -The beef steak was delicious and such a generous portion, topped with mushrooms and onions. Came with two sides which I also enjoyed. - Cobb Salad: You know me and my salads, had to get one as a side. But this portion was also very generous. Possibly shareable depending on your hunger level. They have a very large space, but we were one of 5 groups in there so felt amply spaced out in our booth. Chatted a bit with the waitress, such a nice lady. Hope we can come again soon.

Happened to stop in on fried chicken day, and, oh man, am I glad we did! It was deliciously light and crisp and the accompanying green beans were fresh and oh-so-tasty! The owners told us the story of rehabbing the place after they bought it - they definitely take pride in the cleanliness of the whole restaurant and the quality of the food!!

Rustic on the outside, delicious in the tummy!

We took time to stop by for a late lunch on our cross country drive. We can tell these guys take pride in their housemate recipes. Breaded chicken items and sauces on the menu were delish. We took away some homemade desserts. Can't wait!

It is very romantic and extremely picturesque. Make sure you check my review on the Winery to see the rest of the photos. The service and the food. This place, though it isn't indicated anywhere, stopped seating after lunchtime and took a break between 2 pm and 4 pm. They weren't kicking diners out, but also wouldn't seat anyone till 4. This is a bit of a shock for those just trying to get a late lunch and missed the 2 pm deadline by a few minutes. There is no other close option for snacks or something of the like. And unfortunately, the attitude was very much of a... "well, sorry that you weren't prepared!" We almost didn't return, but we wanted a specific item off the menu. And to rate this place! (Just dropped my rating to 3 stars from 4 as I think of this. When we did return in time for dinner, the same person who didn't recognize us at all cheerfully greeted and seated us. The waitress was very good and knew her stuff. Even so far as to suggest a specific wine with my dinner when asked. The food - This is the main thing that lost a star. It was OK. I chose the German Trio, thinking of getting a little of everything. And, I did. However, when it says smaller portions (see menu picture), they mean it! There was a smallish brat, an incredibly small and overcooked piece of schnitzel (pictured), and lastly some overcooked pork with a sauce all over it. I believe they get away with serving this kind of food for several reasons. a.) The sauce is amazing! And yes, it is on lots of the food or on the side as you wish. b.) The winery has a trolley that runs to it. So many visitors are "trapped" till it returns, so a place to eat makes sense. Also, the place's main concern is wine. The average customer is at least lightly sauced and will view this as the best meal ever because they are going to remember the sauce! Those of you who typically read my reviews often times know that I give each venue the benefit of a doubt and will go eat at them a few times to ensure it wasn't just a fluke. But not this time. I found nothing extremely redeeming other than the convenience of eating right after drinking a bunch of wine. This place touts itself as one of the premier, old school, and fancy restaurants in Hermann. It is not. Pick one of the others and have a better meal.

Vintage Restaurant - German Duo (a wurst, half a schnitzel, braised cabbage, potato salad). We asked for both sauces (yay!)
