I am writing this review to warn other pet owners after an experience that resulted in the DEATH of our beloved dog, Missy, due to what constitutes gross NEGLIGENCE, extreme CARELESSNESS, and veterinary MALPRACTICE on the part of PAMELA O'REAR. On December 4, 2025, Missy was brought to Fry Road Animal Clinic for a procedure: a routine dental cleaning and removal of a tumor on her RIGHT paw, which we had been unable to conclusively test for cancer Missy also had a tumor on her LEFT paw, which had been evaluated multiple times over the past five years under the supervision of Pamela O'Rear and was well documented as benign and not requiring removal. Pamela O'Rear kept Missy under anesthesia for approximately four hours. During the procedure, my wife was informed that the tumor removed was from the LEFT paw, the wrong tumor! After being informed that the incorrect tumor had been removed, Pamela O'Rear made the decision to place Missy under anesthesia a second time as she was waking up in order to remove the tumor on the RIGHT paw, effectively killing my dog. When Ms. O'Rear later spoke with my wife and me by phone, she acknowledged removing the wrong tumor and acknowledged re-anesthetizing Missy. When asked how such an error could occur, she answered as if it was not a big deal with: "I just made a mistake." Removing the wrong surgical site and then re-anesthetizing a patient after a prolonged anesthesia period represents a serious and unacceptable breakdown in surgical verification, judgment, and patient safety protocols. This level of error goes far beyond a "mistake" and rises to the level of GROSS NEGLIGENCE, EXTREME CARELESSNESS, and MALPRACTICE. Missy was a cherished member of our family. We trusted this clinic to follow basic medical safeguards that exist precisely to prevent wrong-site procedures and unnecessary loss of life. Words cannot express the amount of sadness and anger that my wife and I feel and I emphatically implore to all pet parents to not trust Fry Road Animal Clinic. Note that I am not referring to Pamela O'Rear as a "Dr" because someone who displays such level of carelessness, recklessness and negligence doesn't deserve that title. I will also be formally reporting Pamela O'Rear's actions to the Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners so that this incident can be reviewed and other animals may be protected from similar outcomes. I am sharing this so other pet parents don't make the mistake of trusting Pamela O'Rear, a grossly incompetent individual with the care of any of their beloved pets. Dr. O'Rear did an excellent job taking care of my cat. I specifically went to her because she has a special interest in ophthalmology. My cat had a very difficult eye infection with ulcers and she did a really great job of getting him healed. His eye is just beautiful now. I am so grateful to Dr. O'Rear and her staff. read more

My 3 dogs and I are so happy to call Fry Road Animal clinic our vet. My dog Daisy needed a sick visit and the staff was able to upload all of the records i emailed them before the visit. I was impressed with everyone we met. Dr Brice was extremely through in his examination and explained all of the tests and medications. The exam was a through wellness exam as well as testing and treating her for allergies which is what brought us in. Additional vaccines and a skin test were recommended and i never felt pressured and i understood everything, every step of the way. I've since added the records for my other two dogs and will bring them in for annual visits when they are due. Simply the most caring, compassionate staff. The representative that answered the phone on 1/16/25 @ 11:28 .. she was very rude and unprofessional her comments was not needed " that's all you need "..... I said "yes ma'am " she's reply's "oh god i would never get my dog done there " I don't think that's was right very unprofessional in my opinion she had such hate in her voice which caught me off guard . And if that's how she's gonna speak to customers like that you will end up losing customers cause all I wanted was a rabies expiration date .. attitude was not needed I hope there will be action took for this situation. read more

Bottom line, they did make my dog feel better. She had an ear infection. We also did her annual checks. However, a week later, I'm still haunted by all the painful faces and discomfort my Princess endured. They are not gentle here. My girl is 6 years old and that experience was a first. My dog had been very down and acting unusual so I called and they scheduled me for the very next morning. When I arrived the front staff was very nice and welcoming. The vet tech passed us to the back, asked me sone questions and then the doctor came in. Dr. O was so kind and gentle. Unfortunately, my dog was diagnosed with a chronic disease but the doctor and the staff were so empathetic towards us. Dr. O did a great job of explaining my dog's condition, what treatments they wanted to do and why. They had to keep her the entire day due to the state she was in and we also retuned for a follow up the next day. I'd recommend this clinic to everybody and anybody. Such a great practice with amazing people. I'll forever be thankful of the kindness that was shown to us!! read more

We've been bringing Brinkley, our golden retriever, here since she was a pup. The staff is super friendly and Dr. Brice is fantastic! We'd had a bad experience at another vet's office... It seemed like every time we took her in they'd tell us something else was wrong with her and they'd charge us out the wazoo for tests and meds. We decided to look around when they wanted $500 to have her spayed. We didn't want to skimp on her surgery, but $500 seemed ridiculous. So we called around and found Fry Road Animal Clinic (who did the surgery for much less green), and we've been taking her there ever since. I hate to sound cheap, but I love that Fry Road isn't as expensive as the other clinic. All of her shots and exams have been cheaper, and we get the same level of fantastic service as with the other vet, but without the hefty bill. It's quite refreshing. There are several vets who work in the office, and all the staff are wonderful. One lady rescues goldens and she gives Brinkley lots of love every time we visit. Dr. Bryce is thorough during Brinkley's exams and he always gives me great advice on how to raise a good golden. He also suggested that I buy a Gentle Leader harness to help control Brinkley when she pulls on the leash and that thing has been a life saver! I wouldn't be able to control her 62 pounds of excitement without it! I highly recommend Fry Road Animal Clinic to anyone looking for a great vet in the area. They will treat your pets right, and you won't have to take out a second mortgage to pay your vet bills. read more

He spent 30 minutes or less with my two dogs and basically gave them medication and talked a lot and it was $650 when I walked out. Very personable and informative. They have taken very good care of Sadie and Dr. Levine is wonderful! She is able to answer any question I ask and Sadie loves her too! They also provide boarding and they were so kind to be able to take Sadie with short notice when I left town unexpectedly. I was relieved she was in good hands. The only reason why I'm giving 4 stars and not 5 stars is, it is a bit pricey. A one month heart worm preventative pill, bordatella vaccine spray, and a quick test for heart worms costs around $130. That's pretty expensive. At least I know Sadie is taken care of there, which is what matters the most. read more

The front desk and techs are very friendly, kind and patient. Dr. O'Rear is a fantastic veterinarian. She is incredibly knowledgeable and extremely kind and compassionate. She has always been willing to take the time to thoroughly explain treatments, options and the range of potential outcomes. We have received wonderful service. She helped us through the terrible experience of having to put one sweet dog to sleep after a long struggle with bladder cancer. Since then we've back several times with two new dogs. Even though we moved and there are several vets much closer to home, we have chosen to stay with Dr. O'Rear for good reason. read more

Decent place but I found a place with better prices for quality of service. This clinic is cozy and quaint and was good enough while I was taking my dog there. But upon researching other places I realized that I was being overcharged. I do love the convenience of this place as it's only about 5 min from my house but I was always a little surprised every time I would get the bill at the end. I want my pets to be well taken care of but I also don't want to have to brace myself and my wallet every time, big or small, that I have to take them to the vet. This is our go-to vet. I forgot the doctor's name who my dog, Zoey usually sees but I think there's only 2 doctors in the office. I actually never mind taking her to the vet because the doctor is so nice, I never usually have to wait that long and it's such a clean office. Dr. Kimberly Clark was the best Furry Friend Doctor I have ever been to . She was so gentle and extremely knowledgeable. She also showed a lot of compassion. I have a 7 yr. old male dog and he was neutered here. I was nervous because of his age. She reassured me and put my mind at ease and he is doing fantastic!! The whole experience was great! We have taken our dogs here for years. I usually see Dr. Sadler (who is amazing!) but I have seen all of the doctors over the years. They are all great! All of them genuinely care about your pets. When one of our dogs died suddenly, Dr. Sadler called me at home to check on us. Yes, the check-in are needs some updating but I care more about how they treat my dogs. My only complaint is the price of their heart worm meds, etc. so I have started ordering them online. read more

My cat had a fungal infection on his head and was misdiagnosed with skin allergies; apparently, it was too much trouble to take a skin culture to test for a fungal infection or scabies; when I pushed for testing, they dismissed it and insisted it was allergies and suggested I have him on a special diet; the doctor was dismissive and rude; also, they are super expensive; every time I visited, it was no less than $400.00; I am glad I left. read more

The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars is because of the price, I feel its just a little much. I am from dallas and I did find a hidden gem of a vet. The vet is good, but their policies are ridiculous. You can't order your Heartguard from an online supplier because they won't provide the prescription. However they say they will PRICE MATCH. But this is utter nonsense. The last 2 times I've brought the price from an online provider, they have NOT matched it. Today they told me specifically they would not MAKE ANY MONEY if they sold the product to me at the price on the paper. So how can they say they PRICE MATCH? It's taken me a while to write this. A while back I took my neighbors English Springer Spaniel in for her while she was at work.Her normal vet that she likes, Dr.Brice, was not there that day. She made her appointment with another vet, Kimberly Clark. I took her 11 yr old dog in for skin issues. Off the bat she insisted he have a rabies shot or he couldn't come back. I advised her that I don't believe in over vacinating, he is an older dog with skin issues right now and that I didn't advise it. I mentioned the titers test and she said no! Rabies shots are "the law". I immediately told her I would NEVER use her for any of my dogs as a vet,ever because of her attitude and not understanding immune systems etc. She ended up giving him the rabies shot and a steroid on top of that! 6 months later he ended up in the ER with advanced stage severe liver cancer and had to be put down. Too bad Dr.Brice wasn't there, he would have handled it differently. I sure hope she is not still working there or at any other vet clinic. read more

Fry Road Animal Clinic deserves this 5 star rating for both their professional efforts and sincere and compassionate caring of my German Shorthaired Pointer (Cinder). When Cinder totally stopped eating and drinking, I felt that I was watching my dog die before my eyes - a very hard thing. Dr. Brice and Dr. O'Rear worked very hard on Cinder's case in order to rule out what was not going on and in finding answers as to what might be causing this extreme and difficult case. They did everything they could including conferring with other specialists. I know that it seems odd to say that when Dr. Brice called me, the good news was that Cinder was diagnosed with a rare disease (Addison's). I will always remember the sincere caring and the sense of relief that I heard in Dr. Brice's voice in that call - he had found the answer. Addison's disease is treatable and Cinder has responded so well to her treatment. I still have my dog because of all of the efforts of Fry Road Animal Clinic - my sincerest Thanks to the entire staff. read more

I have been going to this clinic since it opened 20+ years ago. My dogs get groomed here too. My primary vet here is Dr. Brice, but I have been to all the vets through the years. They are all so wonderful. Their groomer is the best and all of the staff feel like old friends. Their love of all animals show in everything they do. The prices seem very reasonable to me. I would never want to order online instead of supporting my local vet clinic. These same type of people probably go into showrooms to browse and then go home and buy online. That is just wrong. Also--buying medicines online is risky. You don't know their source or if they are counterfeit. My animals mean too much to risk that. read more

The office could use some updating and renovations but other than that this is a great place. No problems getting an appointment and kind staff. The receptionists are very friendly and the vets and vet techs are great. In fact, one of the vets caught a mistake that another clinic missed on my dog's vaccinations.
