So I was recommended this place by my Jaguar dealership I show up I didn't have any expectations. I just wanted some chicken actually I wanted some chicken wings I get there. They don't have chicken wings, but I asked for a recommendation on what they suggest so, I got I think a Nashville chicken sandwich and it was Really good. I walked in. It was a very welcoming experience. The staff was a tentative respectful and really showed up because I do believe in good customer service so the chicken that I ordered the sandwich I don't even know if I made it home because I ate everything on my ride home. I had food all in my hair eating this food so the chicken was very flavorful. The parking was easy. The vibes was good. I would highly recommend the I would recommend this place again. The food was good and I'm actually kind of wanting a sandwich again so I would patronize this place again. I really like the vibe so I would highly recommend this place to anybody. that's in the area or that wants to just go off the beaten path to try some new food now I was a little upset they didn't have the chicken wings but you know what this is 2026 and I'm trying something new and the sandwich was good. The food was good. They actually had real french fries so yes to the staff to the establishment. I see you... you are doing your thing. Thank you for your service.

My go to is the Nashville chicken sandwich and seasoned fries. The chicken is a little dry but it's the quality and combination of the other ingredients that's top notch. The slaw, pickles, seasoned chicken, and structural integrity of the soft brioche bun. If they switched to chicken thigh, it would be perfect. The fries are cooked perfectly in beef fat and adequately seasoned. Service was good. Decent amount of seating for small groups.

Craving chicken? You've got to try this crazy good hot chicken from Fry The Coop! We got to try some of their menu recently. They have 5 delicious sandwiches with your choice of heat, or not, chicken and Waffles, chicken tenders, and delicious sides. Bonus: Their west town location (1529 W Chicago) has a full bar, where you can enjoy libations with your chicken! We were lucky enough to try the following: Chicago Hot Chicken Sandwich (yes, we have our own sandwich!) Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich Spicy Butter Fried Chicken Sandwich Chicken and Cheese sandwich Chicken and Waffles Messy Fries Not gonna lie. Our favorite was the Nashville Fried Chicken Sandwich

Small bar that serves chicken sandwiches as their specialty. I was there during their lunch hour. At first it was me and the bartender, I think I came close to open. Service was great and quick. Mind you, by the time I ordered the bar was half full and the seating was almost all taken by Chicago Police for lunch. In terms of ambiance, it reminded me of an elaborate gas station. Not in a bad way. It was eclectic in decor. Like gas station meets Nashville. The bar even brews two of their own beers. I got the honey butter chicken sandwich with fries. They had a "combo" where it was a sandwich fries and a drink or beer. Not a bad deal. The chicken breast was thick and juicy. It was a messy sandwich but it was just what I needed with the pale ale I was drinking. It's open until 2am so the place must get crowded the later it gets !

As expected, my dine in experience was much better than my take out! Ambiance was quiet at first, but dinner service traffic began to pick up as the night progressed. I ordered the lil sandwich with heat, off of the kids menu (these should come with a small side of fries). My friend ordered the OG Nashville mild sandwich and then we ordered messy fries to share. Service was pretty fast as we got our messy fries in about 10 minutes. 5 minutes later we got the rest of our order. Everything looked pretty great, but I was missing my side of fries. About 5 minutes more go by and I just assume they forgot them, so I flagged down a waiter and informed him that I was missing my side of fries for my lil sandwich. About another 5 minutes later he brought he out a well proportioned side of fries. They were like five guy fries with the skin on. Some were super crispy and I love skin on russet potato fries that are cripsy!! I left the rest that were slightly more mushy. We started to dig in and everything was delicious. My sandwich was crispy and the cole slaw gave it the freshness it needed. The messy fries were flavorful and packed full of toppings (lived up to their messy name! Get extra napkins for this one). The topping to fry ratio was a bit unbalanced. After eating the toppings you're left with a large amount of just fries, but I didn't mind! It's hard to place the toppings in a way that it will reach all the nook and crannies of the bottom fries. Our original server was a bit absent and didn't check in on us. We had to stop her a few times for extra napkins and drink refills. In her defense, it seems she was training and was 1/2 servers available for the whole place. When we got our check, this is where they lost the one star for me. Our waitress had rung up my order wrong and charged me for a lil Nashville, which is different than the lil sandwich I asked for. On top of this, it makes sense why I was served such a large portion of fries too, that I didn't even end up finishing. So, I was charged for a lil Nashville and a side of fries instead of just the lil sandwich. I can understand the mistake was easy to make because the names are so similar, and she is training, but given the fact that we weren't checked in on and this mistake wasn't caught earlier I was a bit disappointed. It was also partially my fault for not inquiring further. I'm sure if I had informed the staff of this error they would've corrected it, but for a couple of bucks it's not worth the hassle. They were really busy at this point as well and I didn't want to add to their work load. We paid and that was that. Overall, in conclusion, much much better experience than my take out. The food was fresh and delicious. I would happily come again!

Update: Tried the "hot" this time and I barely managed to eat because it was TOO spicy for me. I thought it would just be a notch spicier than the medium heat but I was wrong. It was 10x's spicier. Really wish there was a heat level in between.

It was good, because Fry the Coop is always good. It's a good sized restaurant with 10 booths or so and some high tops, as well as counter seating at the bar. The bar is a full bar, so quite a departure from the other locations. Parking is on the street and along Chicago you'll need to pay the meter if you find a spot, but some of the side streets have non-permitted parking. The employees were friendly enough. Once they came out to see I was there. But what's annoying is that when I placed my order there to go, they never asked me what sauce I wanted and I didn't even think about it until I was halfway home. The only reason I went to this location instead of the one in Portage Park is because their online ordering system said they had honey mustard, whilst the PP one is out. There were several ketchup packets that I threw away (ostensibly included because of the fries) but nothing else. Boo.

They had this crazy COOP sauce or something and man was that fun to ask for. You would be like "hello could I have the coop sauce please" and it just felt funny and made you chuckle and laugh. coop sauce heh heh You order a nice chicken sandwich, talk with your friends about whatever the freak you want to talk about, and just chill out fr.

Saw this on social media and decide to come. Plus today was National donut day. They partner up with Stan donut. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and my boyfriend has honey butter chicken sandwich. Omg so good, the chicken is not dry and it's flavor. Would come back to try other sandwich. Street parking.

The best Nashville hot sandwich in Chicago. Chicken and fries cooked in beef fat. Very spicy. Medium best if you like hot but not crazy.

Is the chicken halal?

Honestly I didn't see any signage promoting halal chicken but I didn't ask. I'm sure you can call them and ask. The staff is friendly and helpful.

They have won several awards for their sandwiches and are said to have the best Italian Beef in Chicago. With all this being said, this was certainly a must eat on my trip! Their menu consists of their famous Italian beef, along with Chicago dogs, burgers, sausage sandwiches, chicken, and fries. There is definitely something for everyone here. The inside is casual and reminiscent of a fast food eatery. Really liked the yellow accents throughout the restaurant. I will also note that it was extremely clean inside, which is always appreciated. Ordering is simple and they will call your ticket number when your food is ready. All the food is served made to order and very fresh and doesn't take too long to come out! I ordered the Regular Beef, wet, with both hot and spicy peppers per the workers suggestion. Ordering the sandwich wet simply means the bread is dunked in the gravy/aus jus. If you want the real deal, this is how you order it. The peppers are optional as well, but complete the sandwich. The sandwich consists of their famous Italian beef roasted and sliced, served on freshly baked French bread. I can see why this sandwich is so highly regarded. The Italian beef that is made in house each day is tender, flavorful, and just perfect! It isn't chewy or tough either. The sweet and spicy peppers paired nicely with the savory beef. And the fresh French bread covered in the gravy--phenomenal! The gravy adds a lot of flavor to the sandwich. You do have to eat it quickly, otherwise the bread will fall apart, oh but it is so worth it. I got fries with a side of cheese sauce to go with the sandwich. By far some of the best fries I've had. Not super crispy, but not soggy either, the texture was just right. They were salted perfectly and dipping them in their velvety cheese sauce was a treat! A regular sub is roughly 6 inches and quite filling. The sandwiches are stuffed with ample amounts of beef. The price is also excellent considering how much you get. Overall, I would say Al's Beef lived up to all its praise. My sandwich was very memorable and was like nothing I'd had before. Everything is so fresh, between their beef, bread, and fries, it is all made in house. This isn't just some fast food spot, it is an institution. I was impressed with everything I ordered, especially the fries. They take a lot of pride in what they serve. This is evident in their customer service. If you are visiting Chicago, don't think, just go--you won't regret it!

Kinda skimpy on the fixings on the Chicago dog, but still gets the job done if you're craving a Chicago dog. Fries are the type that are greasy to the touch; not my fave style of fries but I know it's a well-liked one to others. Super friendly lady at the cashier (all smiles, patient, and offered menu help)! Also fast service (got my order within a few minutes). I visited on a Saturday late afternoon and it was very chill here (also shoutout to the early 2000's era music playing :p it was a vibe). Overall I'd say it's not a bad food spot at all if you want a quick bite and want to be a little away from the Magnificent Mile crowds.

Food reviews: Truffle and mushroom tavern--light and well balanced. Delicate sweet notes from the red onion balance out the earthiness of the mushroom, truffle and charred crust. Cheese doesn't overwhelm the pie and compliments all ingredients with a salty bite Spicy vodka and sausage--so different than the first pie but equally as delicious! Vodka sauce has a deep flavor with only subtle heat. Sausage packs a ton of flavor. Heavier of the two pies since it had more cheese on it but my husband enjoyed Chocolate peanut butter sundae--birthday celebration treat brought by our server! Wow it's a must order. The puppy chow was an insanely smart ingredient to add for texture and bit of chocolate. Can't wait to return to try another specialty pie!

The cashier helping me was friendly enough to let me sample their spicy chipotle-style sauce/spread that comes with the chicken sandwich, and honestly, that sauce was delicious. That said, I have to admit the hot dog itself was pretty underwhelming. I know Chicago-style hot dogs are iconic, but I personally felt like I've had better-tasting hot dogs from a Dodger Dog or even Costco. The relish here tasted oddly artificial to me -- almost like a strange paste consistency that I just couldn't get into. Maybe it's just my Los Angeles taste buds talking, but honestly, some of the best hot dogs I've had are from the street vendors off Hollywood Boulevard with the grilled onions, bell peppers, mustard, mayo, ketchup... you know exactly the kind I'm talking about!! Overall, I'd still recommend trying this place at least once simply because it's such a well-known Chicago institution, but for me personally, the food didn't fully live up to the hype.....
