Scallion Dry Noodles With Fried Egg ()
    Evelyn W.

Really wanted to try this place because the interior looks so nice and it always looks full. I felt that the food I ordered was on par with other spots in Chinatown, nothing really stood out to me and the price point is slightly higher, but maybe I didn't order optimal dishes? I ordered the green beans, pork soup dumplings, scallion oil noodles with fried egg, and broccoli beef.

Clean, brightly lit and a well decorated space. The dining room is super vibrant with people conversing, plates and silverware clinking as the steaming hot platters came out of the kitchen in a timely way. I loved the pastel colors on the plates that made the food look even more appetizing. Plates were decently priced and in true Chinese style, large enough to share and meant to eat family style. Me and my partner are foodies, and we could tell the soup dumplings were freshly made and the dumpling sauces were perfectly salty, mildly spicy and sharply tangy. We also had the eggplant with chicken and it was exceptional - never forget your veggies! Don't skip the Shanghai noodles (especially from a Shanghainese restaurant!) Our water glasses were never empty as the staff stayed attentive. Really loved this place and looking forward to return.

I checked out this place with my friends for the first time and had a very good experience. Though it was dinner time on a Friday we were able to get a table as soon as we walked in. You can order through a QR code that was placed on each table which was very convenient. The menu has pictures on it too which made it easy to choose. We ordered multiple dishes to share, including the rainbow soup dumplings, the peapod stems, the braised pork with quail eggs, the scallion dried noodle with fried egg, and the stir fried scallion beef. The presentation of the rainbow soup dumplings was very cool. I think it's a very cool spot to go with a group of friends to share dishes with.

Fuchun Ju was a solid choice for dinner. There was a small wait but the fact that the restaurant was full was a good sign. The interior was bright and clean. You can order to-go on a kiosk. We tried the rainbow soup dumplings, which were delicious. They came in a giant bird cage which was so fun but was not practical as it didn't really fit on the table with other dishes. The green beans were very tasty, and the crispy bottom baos had great flavor but were a bit too doughy for my taste. Service was attentive and friendly considering it is an Asian restaurant. I would definitely come back to try some more dishes.

I really wanted to like this restaurant. They carry all my favorite dishes and it's at a prime location. Unfortunately, they disappointed me with their small portion sizes that were almost half of what the display picture is on their ordering page. Additionally, the tofu with crab meat was not very flavorful and seemed to have no crab meat. Lastly, this isn't really their fault so I won't fault them for it but there was a homeless person staring at us through the glass right next to us half of the meal and it was hard to enjoy our dinner.

Great, authentic (I think), Chinese restaurant. Quick service, order on your phone, but they are happy to answer questions. We got lots of food to try and have leftovers. Highlights were soup dumplings, general tso's chicken, pan fried noodles. Easy to get a table on Monday at 5 pm.

Boston's Chinatown... The cultural heart of the Chinese community & a lively late-night & weekend hub. Asian eateries everywhere from dumpling houses and dim sum places to all the different bakeries and markets. Fuchun Ju specializes in soup dumplings & noodles. Their profile claims "freshly made to order." Sadly, I don't believe that to be true.... Rainbow Soup Dumplings (Pork & Seafood) Six dumplings each with a different color presented in a cute open bird cage. While they tasted quite nice, I prefer less thick dough & more soup. I've had almost transparently thin filled with soup dumplings at one of their neighboring restaurants. Takes some serious skill to pull them off & if you claim to specialize in them, well you have to deliver. Stir Fry Scallion Beef This is where I don't believe "made to order". When I see the ratio of meat to other ingredients is way off. The dish is Stir Fry Scallion Beef but we were served stir fried onions with some Beef. While the beef was tasty, there just wasn't enough of it. My theory is that they have a huge batch and simply scoop out portions which causes the ratio to be way off & the dish being imbalanced. Shanghai Fried Noodles (Pork) Same with this dish with the ratio being way off. The dish being Pork Fried Noodles, very little to almost no pork. However the noodles were tasty and cooked well. If made to order, the dish would be balanced. All in all, my expectations were met given they weren't high to begin with. We had a craving for Chinese food in Chinatown & we got exactly that.

This place was busy so we had to give it a try, it was late and we were hungry. Surprisingly we were seated immediately. You scan a QR code on the table and start selecting what you want to eat, then the wait staff will come to you to confirm your selections. This place seems to specialize in all sorts of dumplings so of course we had to try various ones including half duck and a noodle dish. Unfortunately the food was just okay, mostly flavorless and pricey for the portions you get. Service was great but the food just wouldn't get me through the door again.

Friendly service, fast. Portions are small and felt pricey. No lines, you order via scanning code with smartphone and order online.

Bright, modern, authentic eatery in Chinatown with an emphasis on dumplings and Peking duck. Vegetable Dumplings: Eight thin ones to an order and surprisingly delicious. Nicely complex, though I just enjoyed them rather than trying to figure out all the ingredients. Served with a pitcher of dipping sauce with a handy spout. Well above average. Sweet and Sour Spareribs: Crunchy, tender, bite-sized pieces of pork, about two-thirds with bone intact, tossed in a sweet and savory brick-colored sauce. I can't say that sour was part of the equation or that these were truly authentic Chinese cuisine, but I enjoyed them. Chef's Special Tofu: Basically tofu triangles in a mild brown sauce, so I don't see what's so special. Think beef stew sauce flavor, only without the beef and much more muted. Far fewer carrots or other items than in the menu photo. Tofu itself was perfectly cooked, but this was kinduva boring dish, even for my vegetarian wife. Broccoli with Garlic: Perfectly cooked broccoli (neither wilting nor tree trunk stiff) in a mild clear sauce, with plenty of minced garlic to live up to the name. A little plain other than the garlic. Unexciting, but an enjoyable dish. Peking Duck: I went with a half duck order, since this was just for me. Turns out that it's entirely boneless, so you don't get any legs, wings, or thick pieces, but the duck is expertly cut to ensure the ideal ratio of skin and meat on every slice, and presented beautifully, along with pancakes, scallions, cucumbers, two sauces, and salt. Each slice had perfectly crisp skin and perfectly juicy meat. Flavor was a little less intense than in other versions, but the textural excellence went a long way. Near-elite to elite. A little fancy and a little plain, but worth another look. I'm looking forward to going back to try some of the non-vegetarian dumplings and more meat dishes when I'm with friends instead of my vegetarian wife.

Menu through QR code. Straight forward for me. Got the truffle jumbo Xiao long bao, the staff checked and said it's gonna be 25 mnts, is okay with me. Also ordered braised beef rice noodle (little broth and not soup style). The noodle is excellent and I like they gave some pickles and fried egg. Xiao long bao came with straw and plastic spoon. Almost no soup on the dumpling, so the straw kinda pointless but it's definitely super juicy, and taste great. I will try the normal size of Xiao long bao next time

Came here for lunch. Nice restaurant. Staff was friendly. We saw them making the dumplings by hand. The food wasnt bad. The soup dumplings were full of soup inside which is a good thing. The beef with noodles had a nice flavor. The noodles had a nice bite to them. The cucumber salad was delicious. The scallion pancake had a nice crisp to them. While the shrimp with noodles looked pretty and the noodles were good and had nice flavor soaking up the garlic sauce, I didnt care for the shrimp. They were overcooked and grainy. Their menu was pretty big and i would go back to try the other dishes.

I was walking by on my way back to the hotel from the client's office and decided to stop in for a snack. I had the soup dumplings and also order pork dumplings. Both were very good. The place was nice but service was just a bit slow, but OK. It was busy and all the food looked very good. Good option even with all the other places in China Town

Shanghai Classic Pork Pan-Fried Buns上海生煎饅頭: I was instantly hooked! It's hard to imagine finding such good pan-fried buns in the US. Almost every table ordered them, so they were all freshly made, piping hot. The bun was made with unleavened dough, making it chewy and refreshing, with a light, crispy bottom--not oily or hard. The meat filling was substantial and tender, with plenty of broth (see picture). It was sweeter than salty, incredibly umami. The chili oil was also very fragrant, and dipping it in Zhenjiang vinegar enhanced the flavor and cut through the greasiness. Shredded Pork & Preserved Vegetable Noodle Soup雪菜肉絲麵: The noodles were thin and round, with a soft, mushy texture. While the noodles were clearly machine-made, this isn't a problem in the Yangtze River Delta region; the issue was likely overcooking. The shredded pork were well-stirred, with tender meat, but the noodles lacked flavor. They had to be eaten with the pickled mustard greens雪菜 to be slightly salty, and the umami flavor was severely diluted. The tableware is all disposable, and tipping is not mandatory. It's quite affordable.

Staff was very knowledgeable about each entree, and provided information about how entrees were cooked and served. They also had a "halvsies" menu of half-size portions (ideal portions for one or two diners). Started with the Mama Chang Pork Dumplings, which were excellent, and the cauliflower appetizer (a little spicy, but very good). Liked the udon noodles with chicken and bok choy, although a little less red chili pepper would have suited my tastes better (good for those who like a bit of zing to their food). The lettuce wrap chicken was well worth the 20-minute wait. Finished with the lemon ginger mousse, which was very light. The fortune cookie on the mousse was fresh and crisp, so good that some thought it might have been baked at Joanne Chang's Flour Cafe and Bakery. The finish was extra nice, with a red lucky envelope with chocolates accompanying the check, an orange at each table (signs for good fortune in the New Year), and red decorations hanging in the restaurant to create a festive setting. Good choice for the start of the New Lunar Year of the Fire Horse!

The interior is very cool, cozy, and the cool red paint design on the glass windows makes it all feel very charming and comfortable. We did have a bit of a wait for our table despite having reservations. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to share between the 4 of us - scallion pancake, bourbon chicken wings, spicy salmon rolls, pork belly buns, sliced beef, eggplant, hot n sour soup, golden potato and lemongrass soup. I think my favorite of those was the eggplant dish - perfectly cooked and flavorful with ginger and soy. Wings were good too. The soups were nice I liked the hot n sour one. The lemongrass soup was a creamy one quite tasty but also quite filling and rich. For entrees, we ordered the roasted soy glazed salmon, the Indonesian fried rice, bok choy and surf and turf noodles. Everything was good. We were all so full and also had leftovers. But decided to order dessert too - everyone loved the vanilla bean ice cream (the menu described it as a parfait) with orange granita - really generous too - 3 scoops of ice cream and the orange sorbet which was more granular than a sorbet more like very finely crushed ice. Very refreshing! The banana caramel crème brûlée was really good too - nice and creamy. The lemon ginger mousse was very creamy but I thought had a bit too much of ginger. I think the deserts were hands down everyone's favorite part of the meal despite everyone pretty much denying they wanted any! Service was very friendly by our server Julie who was delightful! Lovely young lady. Overall great experience!!
