I swear I want to give more than a 3 star review. I've been on this kick of wanting to visit non-chain establishments. However, we didn't want to go far, so we ended up here. Fuddruckers, is normally on my go to, list but I went wrong this time. Meaning, I suggest going here, more often than not. I've only been here 2 other times, because my husband always veto's it. Should've listened.... So I got a burger, like "beef", burger. I typically do the turkey burger, but once in a while I get a taste for beef. Food came out quick and piping hot fresh, for my family of 5. Love the fixin's station with all the condiments, but wish their condiment cups were bigger, thicker, and placed on each end of the counter. They have the paper cups, that will certainly not hold up against their 350 degree cheese sauce they serve. Which I don't understand why it's so hot. My finger mistakenly touched the spout, and that was the only signal I needed that it was enough cheese. Burgers were fresh and juicy! My family didn't particularly care for the peppery seasoned fries, or onion rings. It just seemed to be a little too much salt and other mystery seasonings. I liked the fact that even though this isn't a restaurant with waitresses/waiters, we were still checked on. The lady who came to the table had good attention to detail. She even knew when it was time to bring the FREE cookie to the kids. It was all in all a good experience IN the restaurant. Now for the not so good news... let just say I'll stick to the turkey from now on. The burgers my son and I had, didn't sit so well. I'm giving this place 5 stars across the board. #1 Before I get my food the staff was friendly making sure everything is ok! #2 The food was fresh, the ingredients were fresh, you put your own toppings on the burger, and everything was clean and neat. #3 I was super satisfied overall I had the Elk burger combo. This was my first time trying elk and it was tender and very lean and cooked perfect. The potato wedges were seasoned perfect not overly seasoned. Oh Fuddruckers how I have missed you!! Imagine my thrill to see one opening close to the house. We let the "newness" die down and decided to check it out for dinner. This was better than I remembered! Fudd's was one of the few places that would cook your burger to order back in the day, so I was amped to order a 1/2 pound bacon cheddar burger, mid-rare. While it came out closer to medium, it was still super juicy, with a good amount of cheese and bacon. The wedge fries were seasoned just right and the condiment bar was clean and well stocked. You have to love those free-style coke machines, too! Hubby ordered a ribeye sandwich and was pleasantly surprised. It was cooked perfectly (mid-rare) and was a really nice piece of meat (unlike some places that use cheap fatty cuts). Clean, fast and friendly service - we will definitely be back! read more

This is a frustrating 4 star review and I'm giving it the extra star because the quality of the burgers, produce, and rolls are always so good. I've always been a huge fan of the fixins bar, the different game meats, and the ability to order 4 different size burgers. And the staff is incredibly helpful and devoted to customer service as they invited me to let them know if anything could be better. Also, definitely go for the sweet potato fries! Here's what bugged me. One over half of the beverages in the Coke freestyle machine were out. No cherry Coke, no lemonade, no root beer, no cream soda. That is really really not acceptable. Also, there were three condiment cups left and they were scattered on the table. I asked for more cups, but they didn't arrive for at least ten minutes, but maybe they were just out. I'm glad there is a Fuddrucker's in the area and I'll certainly go back. But there are rough edges that just really need to be smoothed up read more

Nostalgia at it's finest. I was ecstatic when I heard Fuddrucker's was coming back in the area. I was devastated when I heard the one in Town Center was closing years ago, because my mom and I used to go there all the time for lunch dates. This new location picks up right where the old one left off, it's as if Fuddrucker's never left (as I was expecting). I went on a Wednesday night so there wasn't too long of a wait. The employees were pleasant, polite, and helpful. I got an Elk burger cooked medium rare with avocado, It was a little messy but that's not unusual for here. The topping station was immaculate for them to be closing in an hour. It was fully stocked and the vegetable looks fresh; not one sign of wilting. Overall, it's nice to see Fuddrucker's back in Hampton Roads, I recommend that everyone try at least once for family friendly atmosphere and a burger above fast food quality. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with this Fuddruckers. On one hand I enjoy the food, the decor, and the associates working the floor. My burger has always been perfectly cooked to order, the toppings on the bar fresh, fries always hot and crispy, and floor associates super nice and helpful. *Pro Tip* if you get table service from an associate leave them $$$ On the other, and the reason for 2 star deduction, is the counter employees are consistently rude. I've been ignored, sighed at, almost yelled at, and been given a full on glare at the counter all for asking questions as it was my 1st & 2nd time as a patron. It's bizarre to go from a rude associate to an associate who is happy, friendly, and helpful. As this is my 3rd visit I've decided if I patronize this location again I will utilize online ordering so I minimize contact with the counter employees. read more

Once upon a time I ordered whole pound burger with sweet potato fries. The delivery was prompt and my food was still warm. The bun that came with my monstrous patty was undersized for the task so that when bread sandwiched beef the thing resembled a flying saucer. That would have been fine. But the reason I wish I could leave a ZERO star review was that the veggies included with my burger as toppings were moldy. At first I thought that maybe some Bleu cheese got in the batch, but sadly it was not a bonus dollop of saucy goodness. It was fungus. My poor lettuce, tomato, onion combo pack had been kept so poorly that it had begun to sprout life anew. It was like a necromancer called life back into my veggies, but only to serve the nefarious purpose of killing my appetite. One word... AMAZING!!! I visited Fuddrucker's for the very first time this past Sunday on a whim. The only thing I really knew about them is that they sell burgers, and I was in the mood for one. So I stopped at the Norfolk location, with not very much expectation at all. But I saw on the menu, a bleu cheese, bourbon-glazed burger, and that called out to me. I ordered the 1/3 pound combo, and it was the most delicious burger I've had in a very long time. They cooked it to my preferred temperature, and it was covered with beautifully carmelized onions, and this sweet and savory glaze that was out of this world. If you are familiar with the Jack Daniels glaze served at TGI Fridays, it is similar to that, and goes perfectly with this burger topped with bacon. They have a toppings bar where you can get fresh toppings to dress your burger as well as all the usual condiments, including a regular and spicy cheese sauce (think movie theater liquid nacho cheese) which I added to my fries and topped with fresh pico de gallo for a kind of nacho fries vibe. The staff was friendly, and when I told them it was my first time they were very kind and helped me navigate the entire ordering process. All in all this experience was a 10 out of 10 I would highly recommend, and I've already got plans to go back. It's a mix of Five Guys for customization and Red Robin for burgers. I liked it, but it honestly wasn't worth $35 for the 2 of us. I understand that we upgraded our meals to get shakes and I'm not complaining about the price at all, but it wasn't the same as when I was a kid. You walk in and pick the size patty you want based on weight and the options they have on the menu. You place your order and then your buzzer buzzes when your food is ready and you go put your toppings like lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and mustard on the side bar. I like this because I can dictate how much of what goes on my burger. You sit where you like. The shakes were basically the same but the leftover cup was maybe 1/5 full. They probably measure it out like this so you don't get as much as you used to with the original. Overall, I liked that I tried out the new place, but that was enough to go once for me. It was okay but I didn't really appreciate one of the employees making such an effort to come see our infant child I get it people get excited to see a baby but the way they lingered and kept trying to talk to our kid was just off putting. We came to eat, have a peaceful meal. We ordered three burgers: 1/3 lb mushroom and Swiss, Kobe with Swiss on a gluten free bun and 1lb the works. 2 or the three were ordered medium rare, but came out medium. The kobe was ordered medium and came out medium rare. My Kobe was just ok. Skip the gluten free bun. Couldn't hold up to the burger's juice. We really came for my husband who got the 1lb works. He thought the burger was tasty, good bun (like that they toast them) and the toppings were plentiful and fresh. We eat at a lot of burger joints, and he felt that for a $10 burger it was good and plentiful! You can combo for an extra $3.99. Only one if us ate the fries. Probably could skip it. So back in the day my family used to hit up Fuddruckers like burgers were going out of style. We were frequent patrons of the location on Virginia Beach Blvd. Long before I made it a thing to shut down a place, we would be the last folks at Fuddruckers. If my memory serves correctly, I remember a small arcade and a showcase of their meats so you knew what 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, and a full pound beef burger would look like. Well, it was probably 20 years since I've been inside a Fuddruckers. I had a craving for a burger the other day and decided to finally go back to Fuddruckers after 20 years. At first, I was disappointed. Yeah, I know I was at a new location but I had a vision of what I was expecting to see. The layout was nothing close to what I remembered. No arcade. No showcase of meats. I went ahead and ordered a 2/3 lb burger with bacon, egg, and cheese. After my first bite, my disappointment went away. It was stellar. Total fat kid status and I had not one regret. I ended up requesting chili cheese fries as my side. I wouldn't recommend that though. They have a cheese, ketchup, and BBQ sauce station. When I do it again, I'll just load up on the cheese sauce and dip my fries. There was a young lady working who was so helpful with clearing our table and offering to get us anything we needed. I somehow ended up with a free cookie slip and she gave us two! No regrets on the sugar high. So the ambiance wasn't what I expected but damn the food was legit. read more

So as a Richmonder I have not had Fuddruckers in at least 10 years, they all closed down. I could not help but to try one again since Norfolk still has one. I was not disappointed! I ate a 2/3 pound burger cooked exactly as I ordered it-red in the middle! It was much better than some of the local joints I frequent in Richmond, sad to say. This was the first time my kids experienced it too. The endless toppings sent it over the edge for them. Turning the wedge fries into cheese fries closed the deal for my oldest son. Yes its heated cheese from a pump, but that doesn't really matter does it???? Not to a 11 year old. It was a completely unhealthy dinner but absolutely delicious....just saying. Hadn't been to a Fuddruckers since they closed the one on Duke Street in Alexandria, VA Many years ago, but was I ever pleasantly surprised. This location is small, but adequate and is offering a good selection of specialty menu items as well as a nice beer selection. Our burgers were cooked to perfection, flavorful and the buns are toasted and buttery! You can add additional toppings and condiments to hearts delight. Soft drink selection is huge. The restaurant is clean and staff is efficient. A huge shout out to Fredrick, our server. He is totally awesome and offers superb customer service. I know there are lots of "gourmet" burger places all around, but this spot should be on your list. They have daily specials, discounts and are kid friendly, too! This place was nostalgia city for me. Virginia Beach used to have a Fuddruckers that we frequented as children that shut down a few years ago. Once a friend told me that another Fuddruckers had opened up in Norfolk and was decent, I knew I needed to check it out. On first impressions, the Fuddruckers I knew from my childhood (think Red Robins with much more Elvis) was replaced with a more minimalistic, modern look. Moving on to the food: the 2/3 pound mushroom swiss burger was delicious, as were the fries and cheese dip, however some of the veggies (specifically the pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, onions and tomatoes) didn't look as fresh as they should have. Additionally, we had a waiter who introduced themselves after we had already ordered (you order prior to sitting down) and sat down, however it seemed like he was spread a little too thin between all the tables to do anything but serve our food and greet us once (again, bad timing to greet). Overall, the food was as delicious as I remembered it and I'll be returning for sure, however there are definite produce/resource changes they could make to improve the customer experience. One last note - have they always placed that few sesame seeds on the bun? What's the point of a thumb's worth of sesame seeds? read more

Went here today for lunch. I got the hangover burger and it was really yummy. The onion rings was really good too. My husband got the Swiss mushroom burger and he said it was tasty. One of my favorite burger places in the area! Pros: Fresh meat Buns, simply amazing Condiment bar to decorate your burgers is the bomb Nice variety of different burgers and meat Cons: Location maybe? Unless you know where this Fuddruckers is, or even that it exists, you could drive past it every day and never know it's there. Also on location, I wouldn't really say that the area in Norfolk/Tidewater where this Fudds is at is really an "upscale" neighborhood. Kinda run down, not uncommon to see shady looking folks walking around, and this strip of Tidewater is often featured on the evening crime news casts. Now I can't say the two stars is because of food, because the food was good. Zero complaints there. Here's my issue.. I can in with friends today around noon, we had been served very quickly and food was up in a timely manner. Halfway through eating, a worker addressed my friend and proceeds to tell her to "scoot over" so she can sit down. We don't know her, all we know is she took our order. She the proceeds to tell my friend "the guys in the back are too scared to come talk to you, but there's one that wants me to ask if your single?" Now things like this happen.. yet this worker sat at the table, without even asking, and really made my friend uncomfortable. So I've been wanting to try paint night for quite some time and Fuddruckers happened to be where I found this amazing picture. Quite a distance from me but finally got the opportunity to try Fuddruckers which had quite the crowd for a mid week evening which usually is a good sign. So we were greeted by a very nice server named Frederick and he was on point. We ordered two burgers without looking over the menu and he requested $40 for the 2 burgers. We decided since it was our first time and $40 is a lot of money for two burgers to only get one. It was ok but definitely overpriced. I 've been walking around for days like a zombie with no brains to eat. Instead of brains though...Ive had the craving for a burger. So I went to play ball and picked up a recommendation. Fuddruckers! The burger was excellent. The Bourbon burger. Cooked perfectly. Well seasoned with tons of flavor. Almost every fry that touched my lips were perfect. Now for the bad. Service. If it weren't for the cook getting my order wrong then the blue cheese that the burger was supposed to come with would have been on(which was a win...it tastes better with out). My poor wife waited 30 minutes for the right order to come out. They literally gave her the wrong order 3 times. I gave them a lot of leniency in thought though due to the surge of people. I really, really want to give Fuddrucker's a 5 for nostalgia alone! Thank you for coming back, Fuddrucker's, my old friend. I have missed you. Potato wedges are 5 star. Add some jalapeño cheese for dipping and I think they go to 6 star :) Stick with 1/2 lb patty or less otherwise the flavor suffers. The meat is just a hair off in flavor and texture from what it was when Fuddrucker's ruled the roost and had their beef hanging on hooks for fresh grinding at the old VB Blvd location. The buttered, toasted buns? 5 stars Oh, and we sat at the comic book table. That thing is incredibly cool. I couldn't stop staring and studying it. So, where did they go off track? Why 4 stars overall? The fixings bar is simply unappetizing looking. Certain items like the white onions and pico look stale. It didn't look like that in all the years and places I frequented Fuddrucker's. Clean the restaurant. Use fresh produce. Make the fixing bar look edible again. Please. Pretty please. Food was alright but order was wrong and they didn't include the sides we asked for. Drove over 15min to get food because we were craving a good hamburger only to not have the order you want is a little disappointing. I reviewed what I ordered through the website and it was correct but on the receipt it was completely wrong. What's the point in using the online ordering if you're not even going to give us what we asked for?? Furthermore when we go into the restaurant we told the cashier we had an online order and instead of walking over to check and hang us our bag, he instead says "oh it's right over there" and then I proceed to ask if I was suppose to reach over the entire counter to retrieve my food. Smh what poor customer service. Thankfully a nice young lady helped us out and made sure it was the right online order. Will not be going back to fudruckers anymore. We came over for lunch after smelling the burgers from the Walmart parking lot across the way. Bruce had great burger suggestions and talked me in to try elk, which is not something I'd normally go for. My husband got a Bison Bourbon Burger. Both were really delicious and the ranch here is probably our favorite. Frederick was our server and he has an amazing outlook on life and such a positive attitude. Less than a week ago, my husband my mother in law and I all agreed to try some food from this Norfolk Virginia location of Fuddruckers my husband had a burger meal called the works bacon american cheese grilled mushrooms with onion rings while my mother in law had the grilled chicken sandwich and I had the hangover burger(smokehouse burger fried egg cheddar cheese) with seasoned fries. I am conflicted on this review. However the number one thing to be rated here is the Fudds Burgers. On that aspect alone, I give the Fudds Burger nearly 5 stars! For decades, it has had that fresh meat thick burger, and that wonderful bun that is toasted on the grill and has a wonderful flavor. Other factors: Location: Not set up as nice as the old Fudds that most folks remember (Va Beach BLVD of years past). Service: On my 2 visits here, there have been a couple ladies covering the lobby area who were very nice and courteous. Nostalgia: This is a negative. Gone are the days of all the nostalgia on the walls (Think of a light dose of Hard Rock Cafe). The full figure statues of Elvis, and actual Beatles Memorabalia, etc on the walls are gone. The new look these days for Fudds is just generic signage. Overall, "It is not as good as it used to be", I sound like my grandfather in saying that. But... The Fudds Burger and Fudds Fries have remained consistent and tasty over the decades, and I am glad to have a Fuddruckers location back on the southside again. 4 Stars overall :-) read more

LOVE this spot!! I remember coming here as a kid when it was in Va Beach and then they closed down. So I was excited when I heard they were coming back to this side of town, sadly within walking distance of my house. LOL I eat here often, the burgers are always extra sloppy, which I like- a dry burger is like a slow death. Anyway, the onion rings are good, Rice Krispie treat is even better. On my last visit there was a dude named "Fred" walking around checking on everyone-his customer service was amazing and I almost wanted to recruit him for a position at my job if I had one open. The first time I had Fuddruckers was when it was located in Virginia Beach on the Boulevard near. Independence. I felt at that time it was the best burger I've had on the east coast. I was very disappointed when they killed my store and replaced it with a USAA bank. It's not USSAs fault, but I blame them for. Fuddruckers' demise. Years later, I'm driving down Little Creek Road, and what do we have ova here? A brand new Fuddruckers! There was no discussion about what was for dinner! The store was a nice, scaled down versus of the old VB store (no games, smaller outdoor patio). Other than that, the concept remained unchanged. You order your burger, and add your own toppings at the fixings bar. Unless they jack up how your burger is cooked, you don't have to worry about "I said no pickles" or "what does ketchup only mean to you"? Nobody is to blame if you burn your lips off by packing hot sauce and jalapeños on your half pounder. The steak fries were on point, and you have to try their cream soda. My only complaint was there was only the four of us in the store at the time. We ordered 2 kids burgers, one chicken sandwich and a quarter pound burger. How you gonna make a chicken sandwich and 3 kids burgers? Where's the beef? They fixed that issue and we had an enjoyable dinner. read more
