Fuddruckers is for those nights where you just wanna gorge on burgers and fries and milkshakes. They have some of the best of all three. I like the style of number-calling for picking up orders. I will say though that the decor is incredibly outdated and tacky but whatevs. Staff do seem pretty miserable, but I usually see the same people there every time so maybe they're overworked? My husband and I were originally going to go to a nearby Panera after our hike, however when he saw this place he was excited as this was a staple of his childhood in Long Island. I thought my bison burger with cheddar cheese and avocado was tasty. Their free topping bar was interesting as you can get sliced tomatoes, lettuce, red and white onions, or you can them all diced or shredded, hmm. Their pico de Gallo looked good; the relish, on the other hand, looked as if it were sitting out for a while. I also ordered a side garden salad with my burger, but got a main one with blue cheese dressing, where the server didn't ask which dressing I wanted. There are good COVID-19 policies for the free topping buffet (you can only visit once with gloves and discarding utensils immediately after use), and fountain drinks (one person at a time and you must use a different glass for refills), however their tables could have been more spread out and there wasn't any hand sanitizers in the women's restroom. Fuddruckers is the "performance auto parts" shop of the quick serve hamburger industry. You're going to get a burger thats customizable to a level lots of common people would consider unnecessary. The size you want, the temperature you want, the toppings you choose. Fuddruckers bakes their own buns in house daily and the best part is all you can eat fries, just take your empty basket up to the counter and ask for a fill. There is an attached gameroom for the kids. I'm pulling back to 4 stars because while the food is worth it, Fuddruckers is kind of close to pricing themselves out of the quick serve market. I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling from having to walk up to the counter and shell out $8 or even $10 for a burger and then have to wait for it to be cooked so I can go and fetch it. I remember Fuddruckers from the 80's and that is why I went into this place when I saw it. This Fuddruckers, which was full of millennials who don't care about quality, but love their cell phones, definitely is not the place where quality and care once lived. A place where unsanitary standards are kept and food was tasteless and full of salt proved to be a disappointing dining experience. Sanitary standards are serious I guess I should be clear, but document it with a question. How can a server who uses her hand to serve potatoes and food handle the microphone to call names to customers? Moreover, the bacon was forgot on one of the burgers I ordered and the server reached into a bottom cabinet and dumped bacon on the burger. The staff was just throwing out trays and the servers had trouble figuring out whose order belonged to each person. The wedges were full of salt and burger was tasteless. I ordered a Black and Bleu and tasted no blue cheese nor onions. What a disappointment. I guess people who really like this place are the millennials who really don't know what a great burger tastes like from the days where quality meat and care for the product is more important than just an assembly line. If you are a competitive eater then this may be your place for unlimited potato wedges, drink and toppings to fill up on. If not, then this is a real disappointment and I won't be back to this place. I am actually here right now and had to say this before I left. I opted for the Kobe Beef Special, expecting a great burger that was tender and juicy. What I received was quite the opposite. I received a well done burger that was either not Kobe, or one of the poorest excuses for Kobe beef I've ever seen. Not to mention when I see the words Kobe, I order it immediately. I know Kobe beef as if it were a brother. If this restaurant can't even cook a medium burger, why are we eating here still? This has to be the nicest Fuddruckers that I've been to, and I've been to a lot of Fuddruckers over the years throughout the country. It's been my favorite brand after I discovered it in Dallas, Texas years ago. My local Fuddruckers is really lacking and I wish I could physically transport this location to my neighborhood. I've been to this location only once a year over the past three years in the summer while visiting the area with family. The layout of the place is quite nice (much nicer than most of the locations I've been to), the food has been well prepared, and this location has some items that I haven't seen in other locations (such as cheesesteaks). So this place is hit or miss. Sometimes the burgers are cooked the way you want sometimes they aren't . You never know what you're going to get. So now on to the positive. Great place for families and children. I've been going to this Fuddruckers since my children were 18 months. They love the kids chicken and the hot dogs. My first time coming here a few months back was a great time BUT TODAY....DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION IF YOU ARE A MINORITY.... never in my life has my family and I felt so insulted and discriminated against and we're from the south! The counter person was ok and polite and friendly. The person who made the milkshake was a bit short and might have been having an off day. The manager in the green shirt keep looking at us, maybe because it was cold and we asked for heat.... I'm not sure. While eating at 4pm they started packing up all the fixings for the burger and closed off areas in the restaurant. Ok, maybe because of the weather, but there are people actively eating so my husband asked for a box for his fixing since he eats his on the side. Here comes Maritza or Marissa or whoever she is and decided to YELL AT MY HUSBAND IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE PLACE saying that the fixings are only for eating here and for people who ordered here. We drove over 40 mins in horrible weather and spent close to $100 for this??? My husband had to bring his plate over to her and showed her that we bought food and he of course yelled right back at her because though we're quite and humble we do not take lightly of yelling and public embarrassment. This Fuddruckers location is Great!!! One of my favorite things was the drinks selection. They have the newer Coca Cola soda dispensers with a LCD screen and Jones Soda/Ice Tea. I had Jones Mango Ginger and Peach Ice tea, it was AWESOME!!!! The burger I had was the Wagyu burger (cooked Medium). This burger was well cooked and damn good too eat. It's a bit more expensive but well worth the cost. Get the Onion Rings. The onion rings are made fresh to order and very delicious. We are regular customers at the Roxbury Fuddruckers, enjoying the food and because they can accommodate a dietary restriction of a family member. When ordering today, the manager (Mauricia) came over and informed me, VERY rudely and nasty, that she won't accommodate the special order (2 burger patties, no bun or fries; full price for 1st patty & $4 for 2nd patty) because "it's too much trouble". The "trouble" is for the manager to do an override to enter the 2nd patty as just a patty with no bun/fries). Simple. Even the cashier was stunned at her refusal to take the special order. We've been ordering this way for a few years and several cashiers (including the one today) know the special order even before we place it. Obviously we've done this quite a few times. We used to come here all the time, but over the past couple of years both the food and the service have declined greatly. We tried to go to Panera, which is 2 doors down, but the line was out the door. My wife suggested we try Fuddruckers, since there was no line there (for a reason). We ordered 2 salads with chicken and 10 chicken wings. After 20 minutes, my wife had to get a manager to hurry up our order. When it was done (total of 24 minutes), the chicken on the salads and the wings were cold. The garlic bread with the salads was stale and cold as well. We then waited another 8 minutes for fresh wings. There was no sense of urgency, or even anyone caring even the slightest bit! The employees are lazy and spend more time bullshitting with each other than focusing on the customers. We will not eat here again, EVER! Next time, we'll wait in line at Panera. read more
