    Steak Bento Box
    Elizabeth M.

Been to this place a couple times, the service here is good when it's not busy, but when it's busy, the food can take a while. I recommend not coming here during lunch hours, when there's less people I ordered the steak bento box, which I thought was delicious. Their rolls are pretty good as well.

Meal combo. NY strip, scallops & fried rice. Lobster roll. & aguachiles.

Went here since the restaurant across the street did last call 1 hour before closing. Showed up the area looks extremely nice & really clean. Upon ordering I got the aguachiles & it tasted amazing. I followed up by ordering the meal with noodles, rice (upgraded to fried), ny steak & scallops. Ordered medium rare, came back well done. The server was extremely nice & didn't bother arguing. The noodles were super sweet with no other flavor. The fried rice had bad texture & only tasted like soy sauce. The steak was tough, possibly a choice cut but definitely not prime. Recooked to medium. The lobster roll was told to be baked & warmed, it came completely cold. I don't recommend their lobster roll. They have a great selection of drinks including alcohol and japanese beverages. The design is great, the Asian worker & male server were great. There was a Hispanic female worker who ignored me when I asked for salt & kept ignoring me when I walked by. She was possibly making the sushi rolls to be specific. If you're looking for a comparison Benihanas is a 8/10 while this place being 3/10. No authentic hibachi japanese taste besides the plate layout. The right management could definitely change this place up and make it a success but continuing the way it is ... I don't see a great future for the place unless it's meant to be something other than a successful restaurant that sells great food.

Still give this place 5 out of 5! Everything was delicious, tasty fresh sushi. My husband got the premium hibachi with filet mignon, chicken spicy noodles, fried rice and veggies. The meat was tender, so flavored. I ordered fancy sushi roll and it had spicy crab ontop with fried tempura shrimp with tuna and salmon oh my, delicious! I recommend! We also tried the aguachiles tuna and torched salmon.my husband loved the torched tuna. Service was awesome! Hardly anyone else pry two tables it was a tuesday so good gor us, nice view. Ambiance was fun, g good was fresh i highly recommend i will be back. We also ordered watermelon Martini and cucumber Martini both good, cucumber had tajin on the rim it was good! My husband really enjoyed his watermelon Martini it was very refreshing .

A delicious find in downtown Riverside. Japanese cherry blossom accents inside as far as the interior decor and a great menu with sushi and hibachi favorites. They have their own rolls and all the standard dishes you might expect in a generalized Japanese restaurant and excellent service.

We love coming here for a nice Hibachi and Sushi date! The vibes are always so fun in here and I love the Japanese Cherry Blossom trees that give so much life to the place! Our server, Maddy was SUPER helpful in answering our questions and had wonderful suggestions about which foods to try! Their Miso Soup and salad were soooo delicious! My boyfriend got the chicken and shrimp hibachi with steamed rice and I tried out the AMP Roll. Both were really flavorful and super delicious!! The service was pretty fast (it wasn't super busy) and everyone was helping out to make sure we had refills and all our empty plates were picked up! As a tip, there's a nice parking garage on the backside of this restaurant which makes for a great place to park, especially if you plan on walking around downtown!

    Sapporo on draft

Although it wasn't the typical Teppenyaki experience, I did get to see the chef actually cook my meats which was awesome. The Sapporo was spot on! I ordered a combination of hibachi meats including steak, chicken, shrimp, and fried rice with noodles. The meats were cooked fresh, but the deduction of stars came from the stale vegetables and fried rice that was made in advance. For how much I am paying for my meal, all the food should be prepared fresh/when ordered. The noodles were terrible and honestly if I had to do it all over again, I'd ask them to not include the soy sauce drowned noodles.

Spicy tuna roll with pieces of hard rice

2 years later and I tried this place again... I so wish I could give them a better rating, but when my sushi has hard pieces of rice in it and I have to ask the server for Srirach not one, not two, but three times. And it's not busy in the restaurant. Then think I just don't need to come here again. Additionally, I don't understand why this place is adding a 3% surcharge instead of just raising the prices on their items. Anyways, with that 3% surcharge I don't think that I will be coming back for this type of service and food.

The food was delicious. We ordered hibachi dinner and rolls. La Nina roll was spicy yet delicious. The philly and cali rolls were also popular with kids. The lychee martini was amazing! Sweet and amazing! They were kinda late bringing out one of the food items. We had to remind them to bring it out. Everyone was fill by the time the food item came out which was kinda sad but its okay. Parking can be limited as it is in downtown riverside and there was a fair. The parking structure nearby had a flat rate which seemed high for someone not spending the day there.

Guest service is amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. It's a great place to eat it's very relaxing no loud music very mellow. And the food is exquisite. We tried the AMP roll and the dragon roll. Both were delicious definitely will be coming back.

La Niña Roll - love the flavor that comes through from the just the slightest bit of char given to the torched fish on top

It's a pretty quiet lunch spot right in downtown. My husband and I have stopped in here a couple of times now, during the week, for lunch. The service and food have both been so good! We've been greeted at the door by friendly staff, it hasn't been too busy, and we're able to sit where we'd like. They take our order right away, the food comes out quickly, and it's all been excellent. Both times we've order an app or two, and 2-3 rolls. Everything is beautifully presented and we've loved all of the flavor combinations. It's not the least expensive sushi spot, but it's worth it.

Been here a few times while walking around downtown. It's right on the Main Street corner location with intimate indoor seating or large wrap around patio. On this visit we dined Al fresco on a the sunny day with crisp bite of chill from the snow capped mountains afar. Even though you're right on the sidewalk there's a decorative partition without blocking your view. Enjoying our apps to keep us satisfied. The poke nachos are shareable, sushi bombs were satisfactory. Classic familiar flavors with that packed ping of heat.

We usually end up driving out to Rowland Heights for Chinese food, so having something like this down the street in Corona is nice. The pan fried shao mai was probably the surprise favorite for me since I've never had it prepared that way before. The xiao long bao wrapper was a little thicker than what I'm used to, but it was still good. Honestly, nothing we ordered disappointed. Food came out pretty quickly too, so even though there's usually a line, it moves faster than you'd expect.

Service was extremely slow for it not being busy. They were a bit stingy on the lemon wedges and veggies. There were three of us and we ordered three bowls of Pho. We got one small plate of veggies and two lemon wedges. When we asked for more lemons, waiter looked over at our table to make sure we actually needed more lemons. When we asked for a sauce plate/cup, he looked bothered. Well next time just put little sauce plates on the table and we wouldn't have to ask you to get it. Like how do they not know people like to dip their meats in Siracha and Hoison sauce. Not everyone just pours it into the bowl. When we ordered our Pho, we also ordered a Banh Mi sandwich as a to go order. At the end of our meal, my wife went to pay and the check included the price with the sandwhich. She paid and asked how long the sandwich would take, they said, "what sandwich!" Uh, the one we just paid for. Cashier looked confused and asked to see the receipt. Then he went to the back and asked about the sandwich. We could hear someone in the back saying they didn't make a sandwich. Cashier apologized and we waited another 12 minutes for the sandwich. Pho was actually good but a bit on the pricey side. $20 for the Dac Biet. Next time we'll just go to Pho Ha down the street for better noodles at a cheaper price and they won't charge you for a sandwich that doesn't exist.

Anyway... After perusing through the menu, which had quite a few blacked out items (black tape applied over the menu item) we both decided on the Tonkatsu Spicy Black Ramen Noodles as well a the Crispy Fried Rice appetizer... the appetizer was delivered but I had to request some small individual plates so that we could eat off of our own plate, rather than reaching over trying to share the same plate and making a mess on the table... no worries, small oversight (or so I thought at the time)... Next came the Ramen... Looked very appetizing, but again I had to get up and request a couple of soup spoons... went to dig in, and while the bottom of the bowl was warm, the broth itself was quite cold... after calling over the waitress and asking them to please reheat (even if they had to use the microwave)... the waitress took it back to the "open" kitchen and they used the microwave to reheat... The bowls were returned and as we started to eat, satisfied that the broth was indeed hot, we noticed a couple of items missing: the corn - no corn in the broth like it was described... in addition to that, no Wood Eared Mushrooms were in the broth either... the wood eared mushrooms set the "black" apart from the standard ramen and cost $.50 more per serving... when questioned about it, the hostess informed us that they didn't have any mushrooms... as a consolation, she offered us one of the "extra price" toppings in place if it... we opted for the tofu... a bowl of tofu pieces came out and although they appeared to have steam coming off of it, the tofu was cold as well... smh... The hostess returned them to to kitchen to be reheated... We received a 10% discount ($4.90 of of a $49 bill)... Not sure if they're going to make it with this level of service and food quality... My girlfriend and I come here fairly often because it's a convenient place to eat after work, and we've generally enjoyed it. Unfortunately, our last three visits have been disappointing due to missing items we paid for and poor customer service. Today, my girlfriend, her little sister, and I ordered three ramen bowls. My girlfriend is vegetarian and cannot eat meat because it makes her sick. She ordered the vegan ramen with extra noodles and requested that the toppings be served on the side, as I usually eat them. The second bowl was a Shio ramen with grilled chicken, and my bowl came out correctly. While waiting for our food, I watched the cook remove the chicken from the Shio ramen and place it into a separate bowl while wearing gloves. When our order was called, my girlfriend's vegan ramen still had the toppings on it despite our request to have them on the side. We politely pointed this out to the employee at the pickup counter and asked if it could be corrected. The employee responded with noticeable attitude, which was frustrating considering we were simply asking for the order to be prepared as requested. The bowl was handed back to the cook, who then removed the toppings by hand while still wearing the same gloves that had been used to handle the chicken. This raised concerns for us about cross-contact, especially given that my girlfriend avoids meat and can become sick from it. Because of that, my girlfriend only took a couple of bites before deciding not to finish her meal. Shortly afterward, she began feeling unwell. While I cannot say for certain what caused it, the situation was concerning and left us disappointed. We have enjoyed eating here in the past, which makes this review difficult to write. However, after multiple visits involving missing items, incorrect orders, poor customer service, and now concerns about food handling, I felt it was important to share our experience.
