Someone on Reddit suggested this spot for the Argentina England game. Everything from the staff to the food was authentic. Felt like I was in Buenos Aires again. They brought a grill outside for a classic Choripan. My girlfriend got the beef and chicken empanadas. Amazing. Will be coming back

This place is such a vibe! It's got such a unique and fun, kitschy atmosphere. The servers were so sweet and friendly and gave lots of recommendations. Everything we had was delicious but the cheese and onion empanada is what will absolutely bring me back. Don't miss it!

Absolutely amazing! Great vibes, great service, and an experience worth coming back for. Everything was on point from start to finish. Definitely recommend checking this place out the Food alone earned all five stars!

If you're seeing this you need to go to Fuego. The atmosphere is so cute, the service is the absolute best Max is the most sweetest human alive AND THE FOOD. The pulled pork sandwich was amazing the empanadas are incredible and their coffee is delicious and strong. My company catered Fuegos for an event and their service is so easy, quick and overall wonderful experience.

This review is based on the empanadas ordered fresh to go. My husband was taking a stroll in the area with the kiddo and decided to stop by and pick up some empanadas. He got the 6 pack of ham, mushroom and spinach, and onion and cheese. They were really tasty and came with chimichurri. I tried the spinach/mushroom with the chimi, the crust was fresh and the mushroom and spinach filling was full of flavor. I am totally looking forward to dining in. I managed to snap a picture before they were devoured l, not the best shot but I'll make sure to take better ones when we dine in.

As someone who isn't really into bar culture, I appreciated that this felt like a bar with culture. The beef is sourced from Argentina, and you can absolutely taste the quality. I had the chance to meet one of the owners, Max, who was incredibly friendly and welcoming; that personal touch really added to the experience. I had such a great experience here! The vibe was on point: aesthetically pleasing, good energy, and a great place to meet people. Already looking forward to coming back for more of the beef empanadas and beef milanesa sandwiches again. 10/10! Thank me later y'all!

I had high hopes for this newly opened, quirky Argentinian spot. Argentinians are masters of grilled beef, and chimichurri, so my expectations were high. 5/5 = outside skirt steak + beef empanada + chimichurri + frozen raspberry The steak was tender with just a touch of chew. Outside skirt is a richer cut, and the bright, tangy chimichurri perfectly balances the intense beefy flavor and fat. The beef empanada was excellent, saucy, smooth filling wrapped in a flaky shell. Frozen raspberries are a fun treat. Wrapped in a chocolate shell and mixed with bits of ice cream, the berries still manage to let their unique flavor shine through. It's a layered yet cohesive experience, refreshing, balanced, and genuinely enjoyable. I loved their shrimp too, but my experience with the fries and bread made me question how fresh they were (even though the shrimp tasted good). 0/5 fries and bread. The fries were extremely stale, honestly tasted like frozen fries reheated at home. The bread was worse. One piece wasn't even properly heated. The outside was lukewarm, while the inside was rock-hard and ice cold. I did enjoy the quiet and eccentric dining room. And service is pretty attentive. However, I don't think it's worth a 30 min drive to visit. Maybe I'd consider pack many empanada to go though

Typically, you find unique dining experiences like this one in DTLA, but this one happens to be in the heart of South Central. I stumbled upon this diamond while avoiding the long line at Paseo San Miguel. I visited on a Sunday late afternoon, so there was no wait and no hard time finding parking. At first glance, it looked like two different joints, but they happened to be the same restaurant. The glass doors furthest to the north side of the building seem to be where the kitchen is located, as well as the takeout station. The cashier, who was also one of the co-owners, let us know to walk right in next door. We were greeted by the other owner, and he was very welcoming. The service staff were attentive; they had earpieces in, and it felt like we were in a production setting. The seating is a bit tight, especially for someone with an ass like mine. All the chairs and tables were different, kind of like a refurbishing vibe. There was a piano with melted wax on it, I mean, it was nothing like I've seen. I had never had an Argentine potato, egg, caramelized onion deep dish before; it's tasty and heavy on the onions. The burger was my favorite, definitely exploring more of those next time. Also, the empanadas are a must! They're expanding the space and eventually taking over the lot.

This place is a vibe with food and service; warm, lively, and effortlessly cool. Service is genuinely good, the food is delicious across the board, and the whole experience just lands. One of those rare spots where everything works and you leave already planning your next visit.

Cool vibes as you approach Fuegos. Free Fuss-ball in the parking lot! Dining room is a converted tattoo shop that feels like West Hollywood!

My daughter and I stopped by for lunch to celebrate my birthday and I am so glad we did. Max hosted us and we had the most amazing lunch, 4 different empanadas -- try the spicy breakfast one! -- and the brownie ice cream dessert to share. A perfect lunch with the best service, music and atmosphere. 10 stars out of 5!

Unfortunately, I'm sad to say that my experience was far different than the others here. I placed a pick up order over the phone, the person I spoke to was fantastic and I was super excited to try a spot close to home. I actually didn't know about this place until my Amex platinum offered a special on restaurants who are part of the Resy network. I don't normally explore this side of town so I was enthusiastic about this place. I went on Yelp and the pictures looked amazing & the reviews were phenomenal. However, my experience ended up being opposite. First, I should mention that the area is still a bit sketchy. S LA is gentrifying but this area still has some time before any major changes. Their shared parking lot is super small so it's likely you'll have to grab street parking which should be easy in the neighborhood but I'm not sure I'd be too comfortable going late in the evening. For my pick up, I went to the side door which was open. I'm not sure what happened but my experience with service wasn't positive. They brought out the food and basically disappeared. I paid for the order on my own, checked to make sure the order was correct meanwhile everyone was running around, nobody checked on me, thanked me or said good bye. It was a really strange experience and quite off putting.. I've tried several different empanadas at various restaurants in the area and these were my least favorite. I've also traveled to Argentina and experienced the best empanadas in my life and these didn't compare. For the price point of $5, they were small and the flavors were just ok. I was also annoyed they provided one tiny container of chimichurri which was also just ok. I also got the ham/cheese medialuna which was like a mini croissant sandwich and it too was just ok. For those with a sweet tooth chocolate croissant with Dulce de leche, for $8, it missed the mark. I think my order was just thrown together and it looked messy which wasn't a good start. But based on other reviews, they seem to offer some nice events in the evening, service is good inside the restaurant and unsure if my experience was a one off bad day. But at the end of the day, it was my experience, I wasn't happy and unsure if I'll go back.

Ever since we had Argentinian pizza in Buenos Aires last fall I have been trying to hunt it down in Tampa and no luck.. Since we were going to LA figured I would try there and bingo. It was pretty darn close. Very interesting place too. Nice menu of Argentinian food. Nice decor too. We will come back again. Everything we had was delicious. This is what I was looking for Argentinian onion and cheese pizza is known as fugazza con queso or the famous double-crust fugazzeta. These styles feature a thick, pillowy crust, zero tomato sauce, heavy molten cheese, and a generous topping of sweet, soft onions. It was pretty close to what we had in Buenos Aires

    Wendy H.

OBSESSED!! Fuegos Argentinean food is hands down one of my new favorite spots! The food is beyond delicious, the ambiance is absolutely gorgeous, and the hospitality is on another level. They make you feel like family the moment you walk in. I can't recommend this place enough! And the fact that it's only 5 minutes from my house?! We seriously hit the jackpot. Aahhh!

The atmosphere is immersive, theatrical, moody, and every nook and cranny of this place is beautifully detailed. Our group embraced the requested all-black dress code, and I was a little disappointed that some other guests didn't play along. When a place puts this much effort into creating a particular world, dressing the part really does make the experience more fun. The spirits themselves were excellent. We tasted vodka, whiskey, and rum, and all three were remarkably smooth, interesting, and clearly very high quality. I loved that the tasting was guided rather than just having drinks dropped in front of us. The storytelling and presentation made us pay attention to what we were actually tasting and gave the evening a nice sense of progression. We also happened to be there while comic artist Matt Harley of Marvel fame was sketching, which felt perfectly suited to the setting and made an already unusual night even more memorable. The space is gorgeous: candlelight, artwork, strange little details everywhere, dramatic lighting, beautiful glassware, and even the outdoor fire element. There's so much to look at that you feel like you're discovering something new every time you turn around. Our whole group LOVES Halloween, so this felt like the absolute perfect way to kick off spooky season. It has exactly the kind of dark, mysterious, slightly magical atmosphere we were hoping for without feeling cheesy or gimmicky. We loved the rum so much that we ended up buying a bottle, which also granted us Level 1 membership, so this definitely won't be our only visit. Such a fun choice for a birthday celebration, date night, or a night out with friends when you want something completely different from the usual bar experience. We're already looking forward to going back and seeing what our new membership unlocks.

I finally was able to check it off, thanks to a hotel offer with a dining credit. Dahlia is the gorgeous petite space behind the larger ground floor restaurant space now called Cabrillo (formerly Caldo Verde). Dahlia opened as a bespoke cocktail lounge, then began to offer tea. Now it's just tea. There are five 2-tops and two 4-top tables. All food and beverage venues at the Proper used to be under the auspices of famed chef Suzanne Goin and her business partner/sommelier Caroline Styne. They are no longer affiliated with the Proper, but many of their dishes/contributions remain. The last named vestige of them is on the tea menu, "Suzanne's Deviled-Egg Sandwich". The tea menu has several options: Classic, with a seasonal mocktail, or with different champagnes. I opted for the Classic experience, because the mocktail had mocha, not my fave. Server Lluvia was clearly a Dahlia veteran; she offered a tea-smelling of all the teas that interested me as well as crowd favourites. I ultimately chose one of these faves, Mad Hatter's Tea Party, which had passionfruit and vanilla. I declined milk/cream, but did get lemon. There were rock sugar sticks on the table. It seems the selection of tea sandwiches and sweet treats changes every so often, although the vanilla bean scone, dried currant scone, Devonshire cream and apricot orange jam seem like constants. The sandwich selection at my visit were: cucumber, crab/creme fraiche, beet hummus on pita, smoked salmon and Suzanne's deviled egg. All were delish, the beet, crab and deviled egg especially. The sweet treats were: orange fig butter cookie, spiced apple brown butter crumble, cranberry frangipane hand pie, chocolate mocha macaron, pumpkin madeleine, plus the 2 scones. All were excellent. There were no leftovers. A bit pricey, but a relaxing and lovely experience. The room was not crowded when I visited, adding to the calmness of my visit.

There will be a check in host and stand there and wait (it will be located up against the wall with a big secret door right next to the hostess station) It's very New York inside. When I first came in Spring with the amazing, Karen, the menu and everything was great Now, I took my friend who was in town from Nashville and it was a brand new theme. It's the great Gatsby. Even our waitress, Jasmine was dressed for the occasion. I would say this place is known for Absinthe. They have cocktails featuring it or you can get one of the huge apparatus (huge and glowing green) which, if you are into it? I highly recommend. Just one of the huge apparatus makes one regular drink. Or, what Karen and I did, was split it and make it into a shot for the both of us. The waitress comes out and shows you how it works and goes over everything. Karen, who I came with, was a pro and knew her way around it. She showed me the ropes lol. Honestly, if you are here? When in Rome. Go all out and try it, since it's where they shine here. They took off a few menu items and added some themed drinks. ( a couple new champagne themed drinks) They have big entree items but I suggest small bites and sharing and mostly coming for the drinks. There's no bathroom inside, so you do have to leave the bar and go to the closest one (over behind Randy's donuts) and then enter the speakeasy again Both times coming here I've never had an issue. It's a small, packed place. And yet they still have the cocktails flowing and the food coming out in a good time. So the food and drinks are good Atmosphere is lovely. Service is good. Especially for it usually being very busy in here This place is located inside the Anaheim packing district. So I suggest hitting up a couple other spots before or afterwards for some more food or drinks P.S. it is very dark In here. They never cared if we used our light to look at the menu. However, they do not want flash photography They also do not strictly enforce a dress code (my friend from Nashville asked) however, they suggest dressing business casual and not too underdressed

I really liked the clarified strawberry drink, similar to strawberry and cream. I ordered a drink after that unfortunately forgot the name (photo attached with a tall glass) but there was no special cocktail craft taste to it. Just hard liquor taste and undrinkable :( the bartender kindly offered another drink. Unfortunately none of the food was the least bit good. Steak and fries was ordered medium rare and cooked to medium well with what seemed like no seasoning was on there at all. Crab cake was just ok and the slaw beneath it was drenched in a vinaigrette that was just sour and unpleasant. And the Mac and cheese, as we were very hopeful and looking forward to, was probably the blandest Mac and cheese we ever had. We asked the lady bartender for salt and she handed us, no exaggeration (and you guys will probably think I am) a salt shaker with 10 grains of salt in it and said "looks like there's a lil something you could still get out of there" My jaw dropped. But yeah. The shredded meat on top of the Mac and cheese was cooked beyond the point of edible. That one was unfortunately sent back bc we just couldn't eat it. We were bummed over all mostly about the food.

The establishment is known for its innovative & extensive craft cocktail menu as well as creating the Naked & Famous, Oaxaca Old-Fashioned, & The Conference. Having won numerous awards honoring its cocktail menu and talented mixologists - it's a must visit for cocktail enthusiasts. I had been to the New York location many years ago and the L.A. spot has been on my radar. I was excited when I had the opportunity to check it out for a private event featuring Adam Fournier - 2021 World Class U.S Bartender of the year. The gentleman at the front door was very friendly - greeting guests as they walked in. Upon entering, you proceed down the stairs. There are two bars - a larger section straight ahead and a smaller speak easy style lounge to the left. Our party was in the dimly lit lounge, which was quite charming. I was surprised to see the same floor tile that is in my bathroom at home because it has a unique pattern. Adam was mixing up two inventive tequila-based cocktails and one with scotch. The place was packed and watching Adam's skilled precision & grace under pressure was impressive. I tried the Rein Picante - an expertly crafted mixture of Casamigos Reposado, Sherry, Fresh Lime, Passion Fruit, Spices, & Tamarind. It was perfectly balanced, smooth, and delicious. During the event we enjoyed light bites from Death & Co's kitchen, which were also tasty. The magical evening ended with a toast of Don Julio 1942. Cuz that's how we roll. *Street parking or adjacent lots - price varies.

I was pleasantly surprised when I sent an email to the address on the website and received a reply with the password in a little over thirty minutes. After parking, we didn't have any problems finding the entrance even though it is not marked. Look for the big wood double doors and doorman standing in front. After giving him the password, he opened the doors and we walked in. We were surprised in several ways. The place is way bigger than I would expect for a place named "The Speakeasy". And at 6:30pm on a Sunday, we were the only guests inside. Only one other couple came in during the 30 minutes we were there. I would assume they are a lot busier on Friday and Saturday night. It is dimly lit, and very red inside. The bar is large with many bottles of liquor on display and many seats. The rest of the space is one large area that must have at least 20 tables, and the ceiling is high. It gives off more of a nightclub vibe than a speakeasy vibe. I tried the Naked & Famous cocktail which has two of my favorite spirits (Vida mezcal, aperol, yellow Chartreuse, lime, $18). It was nicely balanced with a good mix of smoke and herbal flavor. She had the Pablo's Poison (Altos reposado tequila, strawberry, lime, jalapeno, elderflower, $17). The jalapeno flavor really stood out with strawberry and elderflower in the background. They have a good cocktail menu with almost twenty cocktails, as well as a food menu with ten items. Walk up to the bar to order your drinks. Jeremy, the manager, and the female bartender whose name who I didn't get were nice. We aren't in Pasadena very often, and while they have a good cocktail menu, I don't know if we would return. We were expecting more.

It's become so much more than just one of our favorite bars and every visit reminds us why we keep coming back. The biggest reason, though, is the people. Hospitality is something that's hard to fake, and the team here does it effortlessly. From the moment you walk through the door, you're greeted like an old friend. Over the years, the staff has created an environment that feels welcoming, comfortable, and genuinely personal, and that's something that's become increasingly rare. Matt, Sabrina, and the entire team are all such gems. Scott also deserves special recognition. He's a huge part of what makes The Rendition Room such a special place. Whether he's introducing a new cocktail, sharing the story behind a spirit, or simply taking the time to check in, his passion and care for every guest shine through. It's people like Scott who transform a great bar into a place you truly feel connected to. On our most recent visit, we tried the new Decade & Debauchery cocktail, celebrating The Rendition Room's 10 year anniversary, and it's phenomenal. Balanced, and beautifully executed. In a city full of great bars, they have managed to create something much harder to find, a sense of community. After all these years, it still feels just as special as the first time we walked in.

There is a theme (and entire experience) to each drink. The food is likewise excellent. The hot dogs from Tail o'the Pup are some of the best in the city and you can order directly from the downstairs hot spot, or order from the tailored menu to fit the tiki theme. The wait staff was super attentive. This is a great date spot or somewhere to come with friends. Reservations are a must. Who doesn't love a Speakeasy and the Pickle Barrel entrance at the Tail 'o the Pup with the buzzer in the barrel was a cute touch. Once you're allowed entry, you are immediately transported to another world via beautifully decorated stairs to the check-in desk. The decor has got to be one of the best looking tiki bars out there. Wow, they hit this out of the park. The drink and food menu is fantastic in a wood covered binder. Naturally, we ordered the standard Mai Tai to start. The Lucky Tiki's take on the traditional 1944 Trader Vic Mai Tai is fantastic. Each Mai Tai comes with the Lucky Tiki swizzle stick and I happily kept the 3 we ordered to display in our home Tiki Bar. The wife ordered a second one while I took the waitress' recommendation and ordered The Maverick ("A Renegade of Rums, Cinnamon Syrup, White Grapefruit & Lime Juice, A Bold, Fiery, and Unapologetically Wild Ride, This Cocktail is for Those Who Live By Their Own Rules")...and coincidentally, this applies to me perfectly. The Maverick was awesome and came complete with a show of fire. We also ordered the Potstickers which were fantastic, especially dipped in their garlic teriyaki sauce. Wow! I wished we lived closer because I would hit this place A LOT. TIKI DAVE highly highly highly recommends THE LUCKY TIKI! I will be uploading video to my YouTube channel soon!
