The food was tasty. I tried the Lomo saltado sándwich which was good but it took twenty minutes. I would recommend to order in advance and do pick up. The atmosphere indoors for lunch was often interrupted with the Ninja machines that were blending drinks. it was very difficult to have a conversation with the loud noise while enjoying my food. The staff is very friendly and made the visit worthwhile.

Amazing peruvian sandwich shop! They have a variety of sandwiches, desserts and other snacks. Everything is made in house and I love their empanadas. They have specials everyday. Pan con chicharron, butifarra, pan con lomo are some of my favorites. They also offer fresh fruit smoothies. The owners are very sweet people who love their work and it shows.

Great Cuban sandwich. The best in Northern Virginia, as far as I know. Cubasi Bistro was good but it closed.

This is a place that I found by googling brunch places near Burke. The location itself will be hard…read moreto find as it is tucked away in a shopping center. While this place is not anywhere near Burke, it is a trip worth it. First, the service was excellent. Ziniah was phenomenal in attending. She was patient, kind, and so sweet that she made the experience enjoyable and in a way, made you feel like family. As for the food, the classic breakfast was tasty. It carried a lot of flavor with the eggs and even the potatoes were flavorful and crispy. The best feature was the sweet butter. I could eat a whole tub of that and want to eat more. It is decadent and creamy.

Vibe: Nice sit-down soul food spot. Comfortable atmosphere…read moreand a good setting for a birthday dinner. Food: I ordered the fried chicken dinner with greens and mac & cheese. I ate the wing first, and while it was cooked, it definitely seemed like it could've used more time. That made me skeptical enough to check the rest of the chicken--and instead of biting into it, I cut it and sure enough, the thighs weren't cooked all the way through. That pretty much killed the meal for me. The skillet cornbread was good, but too thick for my preference. The greens had a nice flavor, but they had turkey diced extremely fine throughout them. I don't like meat mixed into my greens, and with it being almost crumb-sized, picking it out was damn near impossible. The mac & cheese was good, although slightly salty. My girlfriend's fried oysters were overcooked, and she didn't care for the candied yams. She did say the peach tea was excellent. Best items were the peach tea, skillet cornbread, and mac & cheese, in that order--but the tea was really the only thing either of us thought was excellent. Service / Timing: Service was okay. Our waiter brought the wrong items twice and wasn't the most attentive, but it never got to the point where we were wondering where she was. What bothered me more was how the undercooked chicken was handled. They removed the chicken dinner from the bill and took another $10 off, but nobody apologized. Serving undercooked chicken is a serious mistake, so I would've expected at least an acknowledgment or apology. Value: Low. The bill adjustment was appropriate, but between the undercooked chicken and the other food misses, the experience wasn't worth it. Highlight: Tea Wrap-Up: Unfortunately, this was a disappointing birthday dinner. There were a few things that were good, but almost everything came with a "but"--the cornbread was good but too thick, the mac was good but slightly salty, and the greens had good flavor but weren't enjoyable for me with the finely diced turkey throughout them. The only thing that got an excellent review was the peach tea. The biggest issue was obviously the undercooked fried chicken. My entrée had to be removed from the bill, nobody apologized, and I ultimately left my own birthday dinner still hungry.

The bagels are always on point! I especially love their seasonal sandwiches. Current faves: the Edgewater, Sun City, and classics toasted with butter, cinnamon, and sugar for the little people. Even in the busiest times, the team is friendly, fast, and accommodating for special requests/variations. They also expanded outdoor seating, which is so nice for families and friends. And I do love the reimagining to a flat shape but these pancitos are VERY greasy and very seasoned when they shouldn't be. It left me feeling sick. -The lox is not great quality. It's that simple. If you know, you know. - The veggie cream cheese was fair. Not flavorful enough but at least it wasn't sweet, which is the common misstep I find outside of NY. - Bagels are meh. Not fab but not bad for outside NY. - The pickle! One of the worst offenders. It's called a full sour on the menu. It's not. It's a dill pickle. Sacrilege outside of the 5 boros. There was one bright shining star though. The latkes! I've never had a latke (potato pancake) that wasn't as heavy as a brick and soaked in grease. That's just how they are. Sometimes they are way too seasoned, too. But these majestic bites of heaven are light as a feather, not soaked in grease and not overly seasoned. And they are GF. Pair with sour cream and that heavenly apple jam. Yowza. I will come back for this, but nothing else. (Wished they bring this fínese to the pan de queso.) -
