When visiting my college friend living in Herndon, we ordered lunch from this location for delivery. Note that because Taco Bamba is a chain, each location has a slightly different menu. The delivery arrived in around 25 mins, so was pleasantly surprised with the speed. Note that my usual go-to item at Mexican restaurants is enchiladas. Because this was lunch, I appropriately sought the namesake Tacos. Note that there are only 2 vegetarian options for tacos here. However, both were pretty damn good. The Spicy Shroom had a great kick to it. However, The Guru is quite underrated. I think the Chile Arbol Honey gave the tacos a nice bounce and it was perfect with all the other items on the taco. Despited the limited vegetarian options for tacos, there are more vegetarian options elsewhere. We got the CHANA CHANA FO FANA EMPANADA and it was amazing. All in all, a very filling lunch with a great amount of kick to it. read more

Discovered this hidden gem while in the Herndon area on business. What a great find! The smell of delicious food as soon as you walk in is fantastic. The restaurant has wonderful décor and theming. The staff was amazing, and the young lady at the counter kindly answered all my questions. I just wish I remembered her name. I went at 2:00 p.m. for a late lunch, and let me tell you, the place was packed! You can tell the locals love this spot. I ordered two tacos: birria and carnitas. The birria was really good, and wow, do they load those tacos....there was a ton of meat on them. The carnitas taco was phenomenal. It also had plenty of meat, and the flavor was fantastic. Ten out of ten. There was a guy handing out samples of a new seasonal offering, chili con queso. It was delicious and absolutely perfect for a cold, windy day. I regret not ordering a bowl to take back to the hotel.It was THAT good. Congratulations, Taco Bamba, you're now on my favorites list in the area! They're always a solid choice for tacos around here. Whether it's breakfast tacos which are realllyyyyy goood, or lunch/dinner. The service can be a bit slow, it just depends on how busy it is. I try not to go when they first open and when it's lunch time. It's a casual spot so no dressing up necessary. The tacos were really good, solid 4 stars. The service was terrible, we sat at the bar, bartender was a real hard C. She refused to acknowledge us. We were about to walk out after 5" but an off duty employee, also sitting at the bar, told the bartender we needed some service. The bartender tossed some menus at us without a word. Then came back and slapped some water down and walked away. Had to ask for a rag to wipe the bar where we sat, she rolled her eyes at us and wet a paper towel to wipe part of the counter, then handed it to us to finish the job. Taco Bamba makes a solid taco. I had the carne casada, al pastor, and birria. The carne asada was my least favorite. It definitely tasted like steak, but didn't have much else in terms of flavor. I've been to this restaurant a number of times at this specific location. I've always ordered to go. I must say that I've tried just about everything on the menu. My favorite is the taco Bomba and the Arriba tacos stand out neither of them are really spicy, but the amount of meat is very impressive. The beef and the chicken. I've also had the chips and salsa, which is excellent and I've also had their wings. The wings are truly amazing. I must also say that that the go packaging and specifically the new to go bags are the best in the takeout business for any restaurant!!!! I had heard good things about Taco Bamba. This past Saturday, we decided to give them a try. Before going, we looked at their menu online, which was a good thing to do as their menu is large. When we arrived there, we knew what we were going to order. There is a counter at one end of the place (on the right as you enter) for ordering food. The woman working there was very nice and took the time to repeat our order back to us before we paid. To pick up your order, go to the other end of the counter. They will call out your number on your receipt when it is ready. When we went, it wasn't very busy. Many place their orders before coming here. Some, like us, order when we arrive. We ordered 1 "migas taco" which is a "breakfast taco". It consists of: "soft, cheesy, scrambled eggs, chips, crema, pico de gallo". Also, we got 1 "chorizo taco" which comes with Mexican pork sausage plus a corn tortilla, onion and cilantro. Finally, we got "Bambas wings" and shared an order which consists of" 1/2 dozen crispy grilled wings (for our sauce on the wings we chose chili garlic butter), served with poblano sauce." To drink, we shared a bottle of water. As for the ambiance---Someone said in their review that this place is located in the old Chuckie E Cheese spot. That's incorrect. It's located at the corner of the row of stores/restaurants where Hama Sushi is. Plus, it's next door to Giant. The place is cavernous. Loud music plays in the background making for a noisy environment. It's not the place to sit and have a conversation. For that, there is outdoor seating. As for the food---I ate the migas taco and it was okay. I didn't see any chips in it. Nor did I see any crema. It was decent and the pico de gallo added some nice flavor to it. My husband said his taco was...well...kind of meh. The chorizo was in small pieces which kept falling out of the taco. The Bamba wings were our favorite item. The wings were meaty, moist and flavorful. The chili garlic butter tasted more of chili with barely a hint of garlic. They were served hot and well spiced without being overbearing. This wasn't an expensive meal. It cost $22.26 before the tip. One thing to take note of----each Taco Bamba has a different menu. Some tacos that are available at one location, may not be available at another location. Restaurants that offer birria made with lamb or goat are a rarity. Despite it being a less traditional meat choice in Mexico, the majority of taquerias serve beef. My wife and I don't eat beef, so when we saw that nearby Taco Bamba offers birria tacos with lamb (along with all the other classic taco fillings), we knew we had to try them out. Taco Bamba has a large menu of both taco and non taco as well as traditional and more fusion items. We opted for the mulitas de birria, one chorizo taco, and three of the more hybrid "signature" tacos which ended up being the perfect amount of food for our lunch. Tacos run $4-5 bucks each, which may be a little more pricey than a hole in the wall taqueria but overall are on the fair side given the quality. Taco Bamba also earns extra points for free coffee all day (even though it was tepid during lunch) and a salsa bar with four distinct options. The highlight of our lunch was, easily, the mulita de birria. Tender, spiced lamb mixed with the appropriate amount of stretchy, salty cheese tucked into crispy corn tortillas and served alongside a bold consommé made for a rich, delicious bite. We also enjoyed the chorizo taco. The heavily seasoned sausage paired well with the tangy salsas and fresh onion and cilantro. One minor criticism of the tacos here is that the tortillas are generic tasting, but they don't necessarily detract from the otherwise flavors components. Taco Bamba's more fusion-y items fared less well, and for our next meal we will likely stick to the traditional offerings. Still, the excellent more authentic items, vast menu, and reasonable prices will keep us coming back for more great Mexican fare. read more

After a Sunday hanging out with my husband and friends, dinner was quickly brought up and thankfully close by was Taco Bamba. Upon arrival I could see that this location was packed which made me excited to taste the goods. They also had a wide variety of sauces near their beverage station that were being refilled so we had to try a bit of each of them (all delicious in their own way). The ambiance felt laid back with 90-2000s music, somewhat dim lighting and casual seating to enjoy street tacos on. I really enjoyed the creative name and flavor pairings with the tacos, everyone in our party ordered something different but definitely enthusiastically enjoyed their meal. Out of the two tacos I tried I definitely enjoyed the heat on the Dinga Dinga. Can't wait to try more tacos on another visit, definitely recommend! read more

This was my first time visiting. I had the stranger danger taco which was flavored excellently, however, the bbq pork was super tough. So tough, that it was extremely hard to chew. I truly hope that isn't the way that their pork is normally cooked as I feel that my serving was overcooked. Had the pork been cooked to perfection, tender, maybe? I have been waiting for the Sterling Taco Bamba to open for a while. The wait was worth it. It was their second day open -- so needless to say, it was a zoo. But the waiting area for your food is right next to the bar. Well played, Taco Bamba, well played. And the Margarita was great! As a DoorDasher & local resident, this place was upsetting experience given the rave reviews. DoorDasher should be respected just like any other customer. We give them business . I took a "stack order" from DoorDash. When I got there, there was a tall black guy and didn't even acknowledge me barely, I waited 20 minutes quietly like a mouse before I decided to follow up on 2 orders I was waiting for, and he lost his gasket and throws his hands up in air and demands me to "unassign the order" and goes off on a tangent. Apparently, simply asking him to ask the cooks the order time left stressed him out so bad he projected onto me and then went whining to a patron at the bar about me as a DoorDasher doing my job . Ghetto. Then the other lady finally came up to me and actually helped me who was one of the alleged managers and magically she was able to get the order together but the other guy wasn't? He was bat shit crazy. She told me, "Oh, he's just covering for today here" and also wasn't apologetic. Teach staff customer service skills and respect DoorDashers that come into establishment. I had fast and friendly service at the Herndan location. Located inside the strip mall, next to the Giant Food Supermarket. I tried each of the Carne Asada, Carnetas and Grilled Chicken. All three were very tastey but a little pricey per taco in my opinion. You can take that with a grain of salt but I'm from Cali and have traveled to small towns in Central Mexico, so I've had my fair share of tacos. We started getting food from Taco Bamba about a year ago. We have slowly been trying more and more items from their menu. So far we haven't found anything that hasn't been wonderful! It has taken us awhile to understand the menu online, especially figuring out the meat selection because we don't speak Spanish but trial and error has led to some go to favorites. Their food is always fresh. Their meats are always tender and good quality. The selection is not overwhelming but offers a good number of choices. We have never dined in but the few times we picked-up our order vs. having it delivered the restaurant has always looked clean. The staff has been polite and professional. Our whole family especially likes the sauces that are always served on the side so we can choose how spicy or tame we want our food each time. This location is new and is still ironing out some things. But overall it holds up to the standard of the one in Vienna. The food is awesome! I grew up in Las Vegas and always had authentic tacos there. It's been somewhat difficult to find tacos of a similar quality for a decent price since moving to Virginia. I'd say that these tacos come pretty close and aren't too pricey. The breakfast tacos are also delicious and worth a try. The torta de huevo was good but definitely will add meat next time. The breakfast empanadas are awesome. The service is still ironing some things out. They forgot to ask if the food was for here or to-go today (4/2/23) but they boxed it up when we asked about it so it made up for it. The staff are super nice and do what they can to make sure you have a good experience. The ambiance is super casual. There's a bar where you can hang out and watch sports and grab a drink. There's also indoor and outdoor seating. If you do sit inside, just be aware that the music is incredibly loud no matter the time of day. We've been in at breakfast twice and lunch once and we have to almost yell at each other to hear. Overall I really love this place. The OG Breakfast Taco and Migas Taco are awesome breakfast choices. Visited here the first week it opened in Herndon for lunch. This was my coworker's first Taco Bamba experience & I am happy to say it was great and she approved (meaning we will be back). It was their second day open at this new location (with a full bar ). We got there early but there was already a line, thankfully we made eye contact with a gentleman behind the bar & he waved us over. We were able to place our orders & take a couple seats. There were some first week hick-ups like training new staff & running out of some food items but we enjoyed chips & salsa while we waited & chatted with fellow patrons & staff who were all super friendly. This location has a great vibe. Like all Taco Bamba locations it has the staple items and then some specific to the area. Apparently this used to be a Chucky Cheese location & there is taco paying tribute (although they had run out so didn't get to try it). The tacos are always good but don't forget the wings & corn. Also, they are a good morning food stop too. I got hubby a T-shirt & am really looking forward to visiting this location. read more

I don't understand the hype unfortunately, bamba is overpriced gentrified Mexican street food. Most of it is pretty good, but not $6/taco good- the guacamole is surprisingly awful, basically just avomash. The pack the bowl is probably the only decent bang for the buck. Every time I order delivery I get different sauces with my pack the bowl, this time I got none. I'm not sure what it's supposed to come with but I'd appreciate some more consistency. read more

The quesadilla was much greasier than I expected but what do you expect for Mexican food. I sat at the bar and was greeted quickly and had exceptional service. The only problem was I came at lunch time... the woman yelling numbers for the to go orders had such a loud high pitched ear piercing yell. It was annoying and uncomfortable. I visited this place a few times and each visit was delicious. The large menu made me nervous but I was pleasantly surprised. Food - Nachos with Barbacoa - really flavorful and saucy but the chips were still crunchy. The barbacoa was tender and savory. Cup o'meat - a great value at $14. I got the chicken which was tender and juicy. It was a very large meal that could easily be split between two people. Guacamole - life changing. If you're thinking "do I really need guacamole?" The answer is yes. This was so creamy and the grilled onions added a subtle sweetness that was perfect. Breakfast empanada - delicious, however, the bacon inside is more like a thick piece of ham and not what I was expecting. The dough was so crispy and delicious though and the eggs were creamy and cheesy. Korean chicken taco - this was the only one that kind of let me down. It wasn't bad and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The flavor balance was just slightly off. I think pickled red onions instead of pickled cucumber on this would be better. Salsas - I tried every salsa provided at the salsa bar and they were all so flavorful. Pro tip: ask for the habanero pineapple salsa. My favorites were the habanero, verde, and taqueria. Service: Consistently good and everything was quick from the ordering process to the time it took to receive our food. Ambiance: Very fast casual vibe to this place but the bar is nice. Everything was clean and there is plenty of outdoor seating. My only complaint is that the chairs are pretty uncomfortable. read more

First time here. I'll start with the positive. The food was delicious. I had the Taco Bamba. It had tender skirt steak and chorizo. The flavors were really good. Also had the Jeneral taco. This was seared ahi tuna, cooked perfectly and also had great flavors. Tried all of the sauces and were all top notch. The negative would have to be the service and lack of heat. We were sat and greeted right away. But she never came back and went to the table next to us several times. So we went to the counter to order. She was nice and friendly. The second issue is that it was freezing in there. I had to keep my coat over my legs because it was so cold. They need to crank the heat.
