I'd definitely get it again. Only down side is that they placed my roll and my coworker's roll in the same container so we had to split it upon arrival. This place is small, but very well decorated and cute! The people were nice. The rolls were tasty, but the miso soup was not as great. Probably wouldn't trust them with Fugu... but they do a good Teriyaki and a fairly good Sushi. It's nothing amazing, but for 8 bucks for a large teriyaki rice bowl with meat, and a decent menu of sushi, Fugu Express is actually a pretty quick, accessible recommendation. Their teriyaki plates are... shopping mall esque, with a sauce that isn't overly sweet or dumped onto the chicken and rice. Their Sushi again, is not amazing quality, but if you walk in with reasonable expectations you should walk out with a full and happy stomach. Keep your expectations reasonable, this is a fast casual restaurant so the food quality is not going to be on par with a full service sushi restaurant... but on the other hand the price matches this expectation. The funny thing that happened was while I was waiting for my food to go, one of the cooks calls out Steve for one order then for the next order he calls out Steve again. When the young lady host come back she gives me my order (one of the Steve orders) . This reminded me of a Seinfeld episode when they're waiting for a table and the host calls out the name Cartwright (which was not their name so they kept on waiting but he was calling them). Piss poor customer service. I took my GF in for lunch. There were no other customers until after we placed a very simple order. The customer after us got his order & left. At this point we've been waiting almost 5-10. Next another customer walks in presumed he placed order over the phone after he waited maybe a min or two he was given order and walked out. New hidden gem! I was pleasantly surprised with this place! As I walked in I noticed that the place looked clean and orderly. We ordered a lot of food. I ordered a miso soup and the tuna sushi plate. My girls each ordered a roll. The food was made to order. The miso soup was big enough for the girls and I to share and they were actually fighting over it! The gentlemen at the counter were all courteous and serviceable. They noticed I had gone back to order soup and immediately took care of it. Honestly, it just seems to have a down home feel to it that you usually don't get in "fast food" sushi. I also don't want to mislabel the place since it is one step up from fast food but inexpensive enough for me to take care of my sushi craving without breaking the bank! It also has a good family friendly feel to it. My tuna sushi plate was a good size, though not huge. The prices were all very reasonable for the amount of food we got. I want to go back and try a few other rolls. I hope that they will expand the menu just a tad more to include something like a chirashi bowl. I have been here 7 times in 2 weeks , where Chinese use to get my business Im really addicted to the teriyaki, try the mango chicken and sesame for a calorie busting treat. As far as there fried food it's OK! There so called fresh fish sushi isn't that fresh. I've had way better sushi than that! Service sucks! No one is really friendly there or even smiles. If you want an authentic lunch like Japanese office workers order a bento here! The Chicken Teriyaki bento came with a nice size helping of teriyaki and rice, 1/2 of a roll, small salad with dressing in a separate container, and two dumplings (Chinese style, not Gyoza, but still tasty). My lunch reminded me of oh so many lunches I had when living in Tokyo. It appears this is a single unit operation and not a franchise location- best wishes for success to the owner and staff and a nice addition to the recently refurbished strip shopping center. Fugu is awesome for hefty portions of tasty and affordable take-out. I usually get the tofu bento box which comes with dumplings, salad, a California roll, rice and fried tofu. This is a really good place for coworkers to eat together and for people to pick up cheap sushi. I don't mean "cheap" in a bad way, either. All of their rolls that I've tried thus far have been great! I love the Spicy Kani Roll the most. I have had my order wrong once or twice (didn't give me the right roll, didn't include chopsticks in bag, etc.), but the staff is SO friendly there. They happily talk to you if you engage them and I've never had anyone be rude. The inside is a little small and echo-y, so it can be kind of loud sometimes, but I really love this place overall. I've been in here a handful of times now since they opened and the food has been consistently good. I usually go in for lunch and order the Hibachi Steak Bento Box. It comes with a salad, 4 piece California roll and your choice of rice. The "Japanese mayo" or "yum yum sauce", depending on which hibachi restaurant you frequent, is also pretty on point here. My one complaint, an easy fix and I would quickly add another star or two, is that the dine in silverware is extra cheap plastic forks. Like the kind of forks that twist and bend when you use them. I completely understand that I'm not going to Fuji Hana or one of the bigger hibachi restaurants. I can get over the plastic bento box, but the super cheap and flimsy forks just make me feel like I am eating at the free sample place at the mall food court. It really would make a huge difference! I have been in with several colleagues and everyone has said the same thing. Don't get me wrong, the food that I have tried here is very good. And I'm sure that I will be in again. But it would really change the feel of the place for me if they fixed that. read more

I went all out on my first visit and had the delux bento box with file mignon. It was absolutely delicious! Not to mention affordable (the most expensive on the menu and it was less than $15!) What is more it is very filling for your buck and quickly ready! The restrooms are clean, trash can is conveniently next to the door for discarding your box on your way out, and plenty of seating with spaces out tables that makes exploring easy! I like to call ahead for togo orders, in case they get a little busy. We ordered pick up from Fugu tonight for the first time. Keeping in mind that the bar is low I'd say it's the best American Japanese/Chinese we've had so far in the area. We haven't tried them all because it was getting discouraging. They don't deliver which is a bummer but it's close by. The food was ready quickly. I ordered the salmon bento box and a dynamite roll. The dynamite roll was yummy. I don't like raw meat of any kind so I can't comment on their raw options. The bento box was pretty good aside from the salmon being overcooked but I figured it would be so I won't knock it too much. My husband ordered chicken general tso. Not sure how much he liked it because he's so unenthusiastic about food in general. I'm not a big on takeout food but I would order the same thing next time the mood strikes. read more
