Went for the first time today. I can't believe I hadn't been here sooner! Make sure you pay attention to the menus as the rolled are different from scooped ice cream. It was so delicious and the service is great. My friend got regular cookies and cream, and I got rolled Hershey's, which was the perfect amount of chocolate with a chocolate drizzle, pocky sticks and a chunk of Hershey's bar. They pour the cream onto a super cold surface. Mix it up and then roll it. So fresh! read more

Unfortunately, for us Fugu Taiyaki ice cream didn't live up to the hype. We ordered the rolled oreo ice cream with chocolate drizzle and their rolled coconut ice cream with toppings. The oreo ice cream tasted like an old bucket oreo ice cream from rite-aid and the coconut ice cream, no comment.. we had to throw these away right after taking a few bites. The place is dirty and the service is meh. We are definitely not coming back anytime soon. read more

Love having a Taiyaki option so close to home, but it's dangerous too because of how good it is! While I do love what I typically order, I have tried a few things that I haven't particularly enjoyed here, but again it's never something I would order in the first place. For example their vanilla ice cream tastes a little watery, but there are just too many interesting flavors for me to try that I wouldn't even think of vanilla. To each their own! At my most recent visit, I ordered the green tea ice cream with a custard filled Taiyaki. My friend ordered the vanilla ice cream with the red bean Taiyaki. We tried to order a Nutella filled Taiyaki by itself on the side, but they confused my order with wanting Nutella instead of custard, so I ended up with just Nutella. Overall my green tea ice cream was absolutely fantastic. Hands down would order this everytime. The Nutella taiyaki was delicious too, but would love to try the custard one in the future. My friend and I didn't like their vanilla ice cream (as described above), but their red bean Taiyaki was perfect. Make sure to come here for a sweet treat pick me up and clarify your order better than I did! read more

Pretty good dessert spot with quick and friendly service. The Nutella-filled taiyaki was delicious--the waffle batter was rich and well made. The matcha ice cream was just okay; a bit too sweet and lacking that distinct matcha flavor. Overall, a solid dessert experience. My husband and I come here a few times a month maybe and it's pretty much the same every time. Employees are nice but seem a little annoyed. Tables are never wiped down, it's honestly disgusting with the built up food. I love this place but i'm truly so over the dirty tables. read more

The family and I came here for dessert. There were a good amount of people here on a Sunday evening around 6:45 pm. You will have to find street parking. We ordered the following: - Taro Horchata Taiyaki - Pistachio Rolled Ice Cream - (2) Kit Kat Rolled Ice Cream I enjoyed the Taro Horchata Taiyaki, but my partner thought it was too sweet. The Pistachio rolled ice cream had a sweet and salty flavor. The kiddos liked their Kit Kat rolled ice cream as well but one of our kiddos enjoyed my taro horchata more lol and they probably should've shared their ice cream since they got the same thing. The place is a decent sized dessert place where you can sit and eat your ice cream if there is space. The workers were friendly. It can be entertaining to watch them create the rolled ice cream. The ice cream was fine. If you like ice cream made with hate. The menu was confusing apparently Cap'n Crunch is a flavor tho it is separated in the menu board to where it should be a topping. The girl here at 5 o clock on Wednesday was condescending for not understanding the menu but did nothing to help explain it. She also seemed like we were annoying her for existing in the establishment. It's no wonder we were the only people here. Awful service. read more

This popular ice cream place is located on the busy Mission Avenue street. It's an easy walk from Oceanside pier. It was pretty busy on a Sunday evening. We came here after dinner. The exterior and interior had fun ocean art. There are tall tables to sit at but it's mostly for takeout. Because they were busy, we weren't greeted when we came in. We stood at the cashier ready to order but again because they were busy the cashier was making ice cream too. There seemed to be only 2 staff working today. Yay, finally tried the fish cone! Green tea matcha and vanilla soft serve, plus red bean filling, was probably the best thing I could've ordered to fully enjoy this place. It hit the spot for me! I grew up eating red bean paste in pastries and ice cream so to have it in North County brings a smile to my face. I was a little confused with the menu - vegan options are only for rolled ice cream, but not soft serve. The filling is inside the fish cone. I really don't see how eating ice cream in the fish cone by itself is manageable, so their recommended bowl seems to be the only way to go, but good luck if you try the cone solo. The cone is like a waffle cone. They also sell taiyaki with filling by itself - they call it "closed" taiyaki. Our ice cream came out after rolled ice cream orders, whom ordered after us, and it seemed to be that the soft serve was not thick enough for serving yet. We got there around noon. We were patient and thanked for waiting the long wait. I enjoyed it and will come again. There's seating inside. read more

Craving ice cream while walking around in Oceanside downtown? There are three primary options Fugu, ColdStone, and Handle's. Fugu is more conveniently located and has more Asian flavored/style ice cream. Handles and ColdStone are more traditional American flavors. The cones are fish shaped and made fresh. More like waffles. Definitely recommend trying if you like nice light texture ice cream. read more

We were around Oceanside for dinner and wanted to wrap up with some desserts. Found this place right across and there was a long wait line. I immediately checked the reviews to be prepared and every review mentioned they take 20-30mins and are kind of slow. We knew what to expect and waited for 20 min to place an order and another 20 min to get the order. They have two kinds of menu rolled ice cream and teyiaki soft serve. Rolled ice cream takes longer and Teyiaki is a little faster. We went with chocolate hazelnut for rolled ice cream and mango with Mexican caramel filling for the Teyiaki. They are slow because this ice cream is not premade, it's made fresh and takes time. However, they probably can have more people working. Anyhow, the soft serve is really good and we enjoyed the rolled ice-cream too. The presentation was nice but didn't like the whipped cream or the syrups, the ice-creams in itself was pretty good. The pricing is alright, but the service needs work. read more

Love the taiyakis!! They are made fresh to order, and it was delicious. Crispy and warm, best be eaten right away with the filling of your choice. We had the nutella, custard, and caramel. I find that the filling wasn't consistent. For example, our nutella one had filling coming out of the fish while the custard filling was very skimpy. We could barely taste the filling! Also, we tried the cookies and cream ice cream. It was... not cookies and cream. It was literally chocolate ice cream! It also comes with the upside down fish, and we chose 3 fillings as well. The first filling was free then .50 cents additional for each filling after. We had custard, nutella, and condensed milk. The establishment was kept clean and had plenty of seats for patrons. They also provided a clean restroom for paying customers. The restroom code is printed on the receipt. There isn't a changing table in the restroom, but it is big enough to accommodate a stroller. read more

Interesting and unique take on ice cream. Very good with many different flavors and it is interesting how the ice cream is rolled up ( see pics). It is a labor intensive to make these, but they do have soft serve if you don't want to wait. It is a more unique ice cream shop by the beach with a beach vibe. read more

Waited in line 25 minutes, then another 15 to receive the ice cream. I do recommend this place because of how good the ice cbut just keep in mind it might be a long wait. read more

First review of 2023. Decisions decisions. Which place was most memorable to start the year off right. It has to be sweet! So Fugu it is. Taiyaki was what I was craving and so we stopped by.. Fugu happened to be busy when we walked in. The person at the front was so accommodating and patient. Taro and Horchata swirl is what we chose. Surprised how fast we got our Taiyaki. I was thinking it was just going to be okay, but the Taiyaki was nice and crispy which made it more enjoyable. The combination of Taro and Horchata was a nice surprised. Get some and take it to the beach! Loved the pineapple (reminded me of a Dole Whip) and Taro flavored soft serve. The Taiyaki (while gimmicky) was freshly made right when we ordered and I also liked the red bean paste inside! Each dessert was $7.50 but it's a hefty size definitely could be shared. Was unsure about this place as my dairy free go to gives toppings. Online it said this place charges extra. Not true, we got 2 toppings included-Reese's and teddy grahams with tara horchata with Nutella filled fish. All you can eat sprinkles included. So yum! Dimitri and David were so kind and gave us VIP treatment knowing it was our first time. Place was clean with cute ocean, fish decor. Will be back for sure. read more

The rolled ice cream was good and the Taiyaki was great as well. I really like that they have condensed milk and cajeta which is great. It's just 2 people working so it's a little slow but they're pretty efficient :) I would come again. read more

Very delicious and unique. Grateful for some vegan options. Cute space with murals and free Photo Booth. Need to hire more people though!! Only one girl was working diligently-- taking orders and putting the ice cream together on a non stop busy Wednesday afternoon. Because it was only her, everyone had to wait quite awhile for their order, and it's also a sanitation issue to be going back and forth between handling money and making ice cream orders. Hire more staff and stop being cheap! It's summer time now! read more

We were staying in Oceanside and happened to see this place while driving. Stopped in for after dinner dessert and were pleasantly surprised with legit taiyaki with unique flavors of fillings and soft serve. The taro/horchata soft serve swirl with the mexican caramel filling for the taiyaki was a great pairing. Our kids loved the mango sorbet as well. Overall solid dessert place. read more

The donuts look nice but they've been sitting out and are stale. The same with crossaint I had. I would not go back here anymore. Awful experience. Drove out of my way to come here today.
